Features our favorite Uncle Ray from AAI:2, but no spoilers.  Just them interacting in court for a future case!feat. Sensitive Hearing!Reader

Franziska didn’t like the fact that she was forced into this situation, but it seems as if she has no other choice than to call in her ace witness: you, her significant other and the decisive witness for this trial.  You’d been through enough trauma as it is and given your hearing… this is far from ideal.

After preparing you over a short twenty minute.  She holds her arm out to the defense with her typical flourish.  “Before we begin, in case the defense is unable to recall correctly, our next witness has very sensitive hearing.  The prosecution would like to remind him and the rest of this court to keep their volume to a minimum in order to respect the witness… unless you would like to taste my whip, of course.”

Ray shrugs and holds his hands out at his sides, flashing her an easy grin.  “Won’t be a problem!  I’m always quiet as a mouse, you know.”

While she isn’t surprised that he’s joking around, it seems like he needs yet another reminder that this is a serious issue…  She cracks her whip at him from across the courtroom with more force than usual.  

“Gyaah!”  He stumbles back, hands instinctively raising in front of him.  “That one really hurt…  Franny-pie, can’t you take it easy on your poor Uncle Ray for once?”

Franziska whips him again for good measure, earning another yelp of pain in response.  “Raymond Shields, don’t be foolish.  I’d sooner give you a hug than spare you the punishment you rightfully deserve.”

“…Now that’s just cold,” he says, rubbing his shoulder.  She only rolls her eyes in response before looking to the judge with an expectant look, pulling on her whip as a reminder that he’s not above it either.

“I… yes, th-that won’t be an issue, Prosecutor von Karma.”

“Thank you, Your Honor.  Then, as there are no objections, the prosecution formally calls the witness in question in to testify.”  Her expression softens when you take the stand, as does her volume.  “Now, please give us your name and occupation, dear witness.”

You give her a nod and do as she asks before beginning your testimony.  All was going well for a time, Ray was remembering to keep his voice down as he cross-examines you.  The judge was staying mostly silent, only weighing in with his useless commentary.  That is, until, she made a claim using some evidence to defend one of your statements to the defense when he suddenly slammed a hand down on his bench.  

She sees how you flinch and she pulls on her whip, eyes flashing at the defense, but he’s too caught up in the euphoria of finally getting some sort of imaginary purchase that he fails to notice.  How typical.

“OBJEC—”  Her whip lets out a loud snap, which makes you wince again. “—YEOW!”

As she opens her mouth to scold him, the gallery breaks out into raised whispers over the defense’s so-called objection.  The foolish judge raises his gavel, so she raises her whip in prepared retribution for when he dares to bang it.

“Order!  Ord—OW!”

She wraps her whip back around her right hand once the judge has crawled under his desk like the coward he is.  Taking a deep breath in, she calms herself to ensure that she does not raise her voice above an acceptable level before speaking.

“Does any fool in this courtroom understand the meaning of the phrase ‘keep your volume to a minimum’?!”

“Fr-Fran, thank you, but it’s really okay.  You don’t need to use your whip…”

She blinks at the sound of your voice, turning to you to see you giving her a small smile.  Her right hand tugs at her sleeve as she crosses her arms, cheeks flushing slightly from such an adorable display… but now was neither the time nor place to appreciate it properly.

“Don’t be foolish, we already have enough of that in this courtroom at the present moment.  You do not have to say such things if they aren’t true.”

“…It is though.  I can handle it.”

She shuts her eyes, frown intensifying as she’s torn on how to remedy this situation.  On one hand, she wants to honor your wishes, but on the other hand she wants to make sure everyone in this court respects you properly.

“Listen to your partner, Franny-pie!  If they say they can handle it, they can.”  He looks to you then, offering you a shrug and a smile.  “Uncle Ray’s not used to keeping it down in court, so he is very sorry if he startled you at all or does so again.  If it’d help, afterwards, I can give you a hug to properly apolo—”

“—Quiet, you.”

Ray flinches as she raises her whip as if she’s about to strike, but does not strike him this time—opting to listen to you.  Mainly because she knows the sound of her whip bothers you, too.

“Very well, then,” she sighs.  “Now, is the defense prepared to voice their foolhardy attempt of an objection so we can bring this trial to an end?”

Seeming to take the hint that things were settling down, the judge climbs out from underneath his desk and reclaims his usual seat.  Although he still looks quite pale.

“I’m always ready.”  He tips his hat at her and she fights the urge to whip him again, not wanting him to get too comfortable.

After all, the sooner this trial is brought to its end, the sooner she can make sure the defendant gets the guilty verdict they deserve and take you home to dote on you like you deserve.

🎪 When Simon first meets you, his initial impression is one of confusion. He’s always been wary around others and you’re no exception.  But unlike with everyone else, your first meeting sparks a strange sort of warmth in his chest; a feeling so foreign to him that he can’t find the words to describe it.

🎪 But quick as it came, he pushes it aside and lets his instincts take over. He begins looking for any emotional weaknesses you may have, something he can use to exploit you. No matter what you make him feel, he still firmly believes that you have an ulterior motive and are just waiting for the right time to use him.

🎪 Once he deems you useful, he’ll begin a “friendship” with you to see how you might fit into his revenge plot. He keeps up his façade, portraying himself as a dim-witted, shy moron who just wants to be your friend, all so he can lure you into a false sense of security.

🎪 Subconsciously, however, he also befriends you in order to explore these strange feelings inside of him. You’re the cause of them, that much he knows. What he doesn’t understand is why. Why are you, someone so average and unimportant, able to make his heart race and face turn red?

🎪 Because of this, he eventually starts stalking you. He’s very skilled at blending into crowds, so he’s not likely to rouse suspicion while following you. What started out as a once-in-a-while thing quickly becomes a part of his daily routine, and he soon comes to know your schedule like the back of his hand.

🎪 When he’s around you, he plays up his frightened act much more. He grabs your hand when he’s “nervous” and clings to your waist when he’s “scared”. In reality, he’s actually very desperate for your touch. He’s never felt loved before, so one gentle touch from you was all it took for him to become addicted.

🎪 As your friendship continues to grow, so does his obsession, which frustrates him greatly. Of all the things that could take his mind off revenge, why did it have to be you? Why did you have to act so disgustingly kind towards him? Why couldn’t you have just used him and left, sparing him of these twisted emotions?

🎪 “Love” is not a word in his vocabulary, so he’s not likely to figure out his feelings on his own. Thus, when the confusion and frustration become too much, he goes to you for advice. And after a heart-to-heart of sorts, he finally realizes the truth. The truth that leaves him with more questions than it does answers.

🎪 He vehemently denies it at first. It’s just not possible. He shouldn’t- he can’t feel love. And yet, for the first time in eighteen years, he feels genuine happiness - all because of you. It’s something that takes him a long time to come to terms with but once he does, there’s no going back for either of you.

🎪 Simon was already pretty miffed about you spending time with others, but it becomes so much worse once he realizes he’s in love with you. He won’t hesitate to go after anyone he deems to be “in the way” of you two. You’re the only good thing in his life and no one is going to take you away from him.

🎪 His revenge plan is put on hold; he can’t focus on anything else, not until you’re his. He spends months planning out the perfect confession, all while getting rid of any competition he may have. Not that you’ll ever suspect him, of course. He’s just so meek and timid, how could he hurt anyone?

🎪 Your relationship starts out just as you’d expect: him being shy in the beginning, only to open up later on and become more affectionate and clingy. To outsiders, your relationship seems perfect, exactly what he intended. No one would ever suspect him of harboring such obsessive feelings.

🎪 Shortly after you start dating, he begins isolating you from everyone. He’ll do anything from manipulating you to flat-out destroying lives if he deems it necessary. He’s very jealous and selfish, and won’t stand for you having relationships with others, innocent as they may be.

🎪 Having spent so many years on the run has left him incredibly paranoid and worried, especially for you. He fears that someone might hurt you or take you away. That’s why, whether you accept his confession or not, whether you stay together or break up, he’ll eventually resort to kidnapping you.

🎪 He plans it long in advance, even before you start dating. Once he has you, he’ll finally show you his true colors. He’ll shower you with love and attention, and he makes it clear what will happen if you don’t return his affections. No one will get hurt as long as you stay with him.

Word Count: 1102

Sebastian was used to show off his pride, his Prosecutor badge, which he wore it with pride. He was raised to be perfect, he was raised to be a perfectionist, he was raised by his father’s ideas. But now, it’s all crashing down before him. His beliefs, his achievements he thought he earned and himself. All because of his father’s selfish claims, his father’s selfish hand. 

He was raised to never question his father’s ideals and actions, even though he knew his father was raising him with mental abuse. He didn’t want to believe his father killed someone, but all of this evidence they had pointed it towards Blaise Debeste, his father. With one last cry, he delivered his final evidence to the court, with his father yelling at him how he regretted having him in his life, how his life would be better if he wasn’t born. He endured it all as the Judge, Courtney, delivered his GUILTY verdict.

Sebastian watches as his father was being dragged by people, his father thrashing around while glaring at his supposed son with such spite and hate, and screaming at him. Tears were building up behind his eyes, but he tried to not let it flow. He did the right thing, right? But now that he did that, where would he go? The Debeste name is now tarnished because of his father’s crimes.

Sebastian looks at his dirty gloved-hands as he sighed and started to remove them. The trial is over, so is him. Even after all of them rushed out the Courtroom, now he’s all alone. He won, yet it feels like he lost. 

“Hey.. um.. you okay?” Sebastian looks up to see his friend, [Y/N], the only person he trusts beside his father before. But now that his perspective has changed, he started look at them in a new light. Sebastian just looks down, not bothering to answer them. He knows that he’s not alright but what could he have said at that moment? ‘Oh, I’m alright. Totally not bummed out that my father was a murderer’. Yeah, no, he can’t say that to his friend.

Then he noticed that [Y/N] placed their hand on his shoulders, he looks up to see them smiling at the reassuringly. At that moment, waterworks started spilling from his eyes as he cried in front of them, not caring about him being seen as a crybaby. [Y/N], who have seen him cry before, pull him into a hug and shush him gently, totally not caring if he smells. He deserve it afterall, he deserve someone to have a shoulder to cry on, he deserve someone who’ll love him unlike his ‘Pops’, someone who truly cares about him.

“It’s alright.. I’m here. I’m not gonna leave you.” [Y/N] whispered gently as they rub Sebastian’s back and play with the end of his hair, with a faint smile on their face. Sebastian was laying his forehead on [Y/N]’s shoulder while letting his tears drop to the ground, doesn’t matter if their small or tall, he actually bends a bit to do that. “You deserve the world, Sebastian. You don’t deserve what you’ve been through.. Mother Nature was too hard on you.” They faintly chuckles as they heard Sebastian sniff.

“But I believe that this is your first trial to your new beginning. You’ve proven yourself that you can go on without your father.. and I’m proud of you. Now, whatever you do, I’ll support you. I’ll be your personal cheerleader.” [Y/N] pulls back a bit while holding his shoulders and looking straight at his chestnut-brown eyes. They chuckle a bit at how Sebastian look like as they brush aside a stray brown strand from his face, before cupping their one hand to his (beautiful) crying face.

“So.. just believe in yourself.. okay?” Sebastian can only nod his head at the time. [Y/N] smiles at him as they took his hand and began dragging him outside the empty courtroom. Sebastian blink as he furiously wipe his eyes with his hands, not his sleeves since it’s dirty, as he stumbles a bit and looking at [Y/N]’s back as they continued to walk. “W-Where.. are we going?” Sebastian asked, his voice dry and cracking due to his crying.

[Y/N] looks at him over their shoulder and smiled at him. “To my house, duh! We need to clean you up! You smell, you know?” They snickered cheekily which made Sebastian pout. “That’s because I search in the garbage dump! Besides, what did you expect from there? Perfume?” Sebastian retorted as [Y/N] returns their gaze up ahead while laughing. “Could’ve applied cologne while you had a chance.” “I was panicking!”

Sebastian smiled as [Y/N] made a sassy comeback to his equally sassy comments. He was glad to have someone like [Y/N] in his life, and he knows he wouldn’t change it for the world. “Hey, [Y/N]..” [Y/N] hums in reply. “Thanks for everything.” Sebastian mumbled while bashfully looking away with pink-tinted cheeks. [Y/N] doesn’t need to look back to see his embarrassment as they smirk. “Of course you’ll thank me! I’m practically your babysitter!”

Sebastian sighed as he listen to his (crazy) friend cackle on their own joke. He grips their hand, that was holding his own. [Y/N] looks back at him, fully turning their body around just to face him. “What? You know my house is still around the corner.” Sebastian smiles before turning his head up with determination sparkling in his eyes, [Y/N] jump a bit in surprise to see his determined face. 

“I’ll become a Prosecutor, [Y/N]! Not like my father, the Prosecutor you can be proud of! I’ll retake my exam, I’ll study hard this time. And if I fail, I’ll do it again and again! No matter how many tries it takes, I’ll become the best Prosecutor there is and beat Mr. Edgeworth!” Sebastian proclaims with a huge smile on his face. [Y/N]’s eyes widened at the sight of his new self. This was a new Sebastian in front of them, they realized, a new one that is no longer controlled by his father.

Then Sebastian returns his gaze to the ground, shifting his foot uncomfortably. “You’ll still support me... right?” [Y/N] snapped out of their trance as they gave Sebastian a warm smile before smiling brightly. “Why, of course I’ll do that! I’m your cheerleader after all!”

Never in Sebastian’s life could compare how happy he is in this moment..
