I love this ship, but like... I have I whole page of doodles I'm trying to color - this doodle being part of them - and I question my existence with the number of limbs and joints and colors and AAAHHHH!

I love them, but coloring them in I way I'm kinda happy with, is SO FRUSTRATING!

Click at the bottom for a bonus art, the stand alone art for each of the characters in this piece and two poems. Yes, TWO whole poems! Pretty shitty ones at that. I quickly typed them into the file for the background to capture the vibes from the OG MV. That's how elaborate this one was.

Hey! It's me again. Sorry for going silent for so long, life and stuff got in the way. I got a job, but I didn't last long in it because I didn't pass the trial period. So here I am popping back in with an elaborate art piece loosely related to the paracosm with the main duo, the Jellyfish Duo.

There's a reason why I picked out which Miku the two would cosplay as for the Bit.

SpongeBob ended up with the slutty Deco27 Miku because it reminds me of how he sees himself as well as the fallen imagery. He plays the good guy in his show and even everyone sees him as a good person (Angel), but he sees himself as a bad person and actor because he thinks that it's his fault that acting out some bad/not so great episodes lead to forsaking the Nation into being raided by Weblings who took their reaction too far. It's also because he was at his peak during his golden age before "taking the fall" (being a black angel instead of white). Hence the fallen angel

Lusamine gets PinocchioP's Miku for obvious reasons. She plays the villain who happens to wear white, and hides a dirty secret behind the clean reputation. The less obvious reason is that the lyrics for White Devil Miku fit her paracosm counterpart, especially the "I'm not a devil!" bits (they'd sound like it's her insisting she's not "Her"/The Persona and pleading people to not see her That Way™). She doesn't want to be seen as a devil, she doesn't even WANT to be the devil. But she has to play the part in order for the game to move forward. "So sayeth the devil," even sounds like the rolcists stamping the label on her without taking another look at the actress and giving her another chance.

"Smile and play the part," just reminds of the paracosm in general, everyone has to play a part of their story just to exist. It could also fit SpongeBob because he has to play the part of an angel.

Some additional notes:

• SpongeBob's wand is a spatula in the heart shape

• I really could have drawn SpongeBob in a, ahem, more modest outfit, but I thought it was funny to put him in a suggestive one. Plus, I somehow made his legs look really good, so now I HAD to play for the bit.

• Lusamine's outfit is based on Kartana, the origami Ultra Beast. I think it became a running gag or bit where she'd cosplay an ultra beast even if she didn't mean to. A friend even imagined that she has a wardrobe full of UB-themed outfits

• I could not for the life of me add in the wings on their back. So what I did to make up for it is them sitting on their respective jellyfishes. They're both shinies too, both to go well with their colour schemes and just to match in general.

• Their "mini me"s floating by them are based on their jellyfish forms

• I know that this piece would fit a different pairing better if it were to be a smaller crossover (like Squidward being the devil to SpongeBob's angel or Cynthia being the angel to Lusa's devil), but crack platonic ship duo who are obsessed with jellyfishes...

• SpongeBob's sun is based on Mr. Sun from the Best day ever episode

• Lusamine's moon is basically the moon logo from Pokémon Moon. What I did to achieve that look is pretty much cheating. I basically looked for the og picture, copy and pasted it onto the file, cropped out the unnecessary bits, and then colored over the logo in another layer. I got lazy, okay.

Ah! Before I forget, the poems!! Some of their bits are hidden behind the characters, so I'll just copy and paste them here.

For Lusamine's side:

Wings of War Chapter 1 (Preview/Rough Draft)

Working on a HTTYD fic that (for now) is called Wings of War. I have a feeling it's going to take me a very long time to write and that I won't update super often, so I thought I would post bits and pieces while I'm working on it before I put polished chapters on AO3. Here's the (rough) beginning of Chapter 1:

This is Berk, a cold, rocky island surrounded by sea stacks and crashing waves, full of cliffs and towering evergreens through which the wind howls eerily at night and sings in the early hours of the dawn. Our island is dotted with wooden houses and mead halls, earthen huts and stone arenas, farms with turnips and cabbage, yak and sheep. Among these structures live our people: proud, strong Vikings in wool and leather, armed with iron and steel and of course…dragons.

A Monstrous Nightmare to be exact — a flash of midnight blue accented by a grey the same colour as the early morning sky. And on the dragon’s back are a young girl and her younger brother, screeching as they do their best not to fall to their deaths. They speed above and around the farms of the less-populated areas of Berk, startling farmers and their animals alike. An impossibly old man named Mildew nearly tumbles into a puddle but for the sheep at his back steadying him. He raises his fist in the air, cursing the unholy children who, after all these years, insist upon tormenting him with their blasted dragons.

Zephyr and Nuffink are already climbing too high into the air to hear the profanities being screeched up at them. If Moonscale weren’t doing her best to keep the tiny humans on her back from plummeting to their demise, she might give the wrinkly old human below a heated response. But luckily, they fly off and away to a forested area of Berk, leaving the villagers safe...for now.

On an average day in Berk, you can see Terrible Terrors delivering mail, Gronckles and Hotburples in forges, Changewings playing hide and seek with local children, Timberjacks ferrying people and goods to and from nearby islands. Our isle is home to all sorts.

And a girl trying to teach her brother to love flying. The day is not going quite as she planned.

“AAAAAAHHHHH ZEPHYR!” Nuffink shrieks. “We’re too high, too high!”

“Nuffink, I can’t see how high we are when you’re blinding me!” Zephyr pulls at the little hands that grasp desperately at her face.

“Ohgodsohgodsimagonnadie!”

“Nuffink, you’re not gonna—”

“Down! Please let me down!”

Zephyr tries again to gain control of the reigns, but pulls to hard and Moonscale banks to one side, huffing in frustration as Nuffink digs his heels to her flank. Soon, they dip too far and begin to spin. Nuffnk yells even louder, directly into Zephyr’s ear.

“AAAHHHH!”

Zephyr winces. “Nuffink you need to calm down! You’re freaking Moonscale out!”

“She’s freaking me out!”

Out of the corner of her eye, Zephyr can see the blonde braids of Ingrid Ingerman, and beneath her, the purple and gold of her Deadly Nadder, Nightshade. They glide to Moonscale’s side. “I told you this was a bad idea!”

“Oh!” Zephyr shouts, “well that’s a lot of help now, thanks!”

“You’re welcome,” Ingrid replies flatly.

From behind them, Zephyr hears a soft voice, barely a whisper above the Autumn wind. Ingrid’s sister Inga is calling out, but too quietly for them to hear.

“What?” They yell in unison. Ingrid, more successfully than Zephyr, turns in her saddle to try and hear Inga’s words.

They are repeated in a louder, deeper voice from her brother Ingvar. “Look out!”

The two girls have but a moment to eye each other in confusion before they pull up sharply to avoid the suddenly taller treeline before them.

“Phew,” Zephyr exclaims in relief, but too quickly.

“I’m...I’m gonna throw up,” Nuffink wheezes.

Ingrid makes a face. “Oh gods, not again.”

Zephyr scowls at her. “Hey!”

Ingrid shrugs. “If you wanna scrub puke out of the seams of your saddle, be my guest! Just don’t ask me for help this time.”

Zephyr ignores her. “Hey,” she says over her shoulder to Nuffink, trying to yell above the wind in as calming a manner as possible, “we’re just going to find a clearing to land so you can—”

“No, no, no,” Nuffink pleads, his voice muffled against his sister’s back. “Not in the woods! Take me home, please!”

“What’s he so afraid of?” Ingvar asks in a voice that rivals his Thunderdrum. “The woods are just trees. And we have dragons.”

“The dragons make him more scared, muttonhead!” Zephyr snaps at him.

“Hmm,” Inga muses from the back of her pale blue Gronckle, finally close enough to be heard. “He doesn’t look to good, Zeph. Maybe we should land, just for a little bit.”

Zephyr hesitates for a moment, biting her lip. Then she feels her brother’s tears rolling onto her neck. She shakes her head before speeding back towards Berk’s centre.

The Ingerman triplets cast each other wary glances before taking off after her.

You will find an image of Vikings and dragons living in harmony, living and growing in a connection that has lasted for 20 years and will last many more. We defend each other, loyal to the end, integral part of each others’ lives. But the peace between the Vikings of Berk and dragons is not universal. Every so often, we face a new foe, whether it be dragon hunters, poachers, or even those who want to train dragons for nefarious means. They claw at the edges of Berk’s influence of our allies and the settlements we’ve built to house the many who flock to Berk, who see it as a beacon of light in the darkness.

“Nuffink, I need you to calm down, okay?” Zephyr tries again to be soothing as they near the village town square. They’re too high up to make out the little dots below, but she can tell that they’re farmers and merchants setting up their stalls for the day. She didn’t want any run-ins with villagers angry about her disruptive flying — she was becoming known for it. And if falling from her dragon didn’t kill her, then her mother would. “I’m just going to drop you off at home and then—ack!” Zephyr squeals as Nuffink clutches too tightly at her abdomen.

“Oh, Frey I looked down! I looked down, I looked down!”

And now it’s Zephyr’s turn to feel nauseous. She tries to pull away from her brother’s grasp but leans too far. Moonscale huffs in annoyance at her rider’s constantly changing desires but obeys the order she believes she’s been given.

The two Haddock children wail as the dragon dives directly towards the village below.

These conflicts leave many in need of a place to go, and so our borders extend past Berk, to the smaller islands around us, to new ones we’ve had to find. It has not been easy to keep everyone safe, to ensure fair treatment of humans and dragons alike in a community extending so far, but we must, for the alternative to extending our light is allowing the darkness to devour us all.

And what bearer of light is more formidable than a dragon?

Hiccup Haddock can’t help but smile as he reviews his entry for the day. He sits leaning beneath a tree on a hill, overlooking Berk. He woke early despite the heaviness of his eyes and limbs, wanting to get some writing done before the day’s responsibilities took him away from his passions.

“I think I outdid myself this time.”

The black dragon curled up by his side scoffs.

“Oh hush, Toothless, you can’t even read.”

Hiccup ducks as Toothless waves his tail at him.

Berk’s chieftain puts his hand to his head dramatically. “I am totally unappreciated in my time.”

Toothless warbles out a low laugh and rolls his eyes. Hiccup laughs along for a moment, before they are disturbed. They go quiet and almost in unison tilt their heads to the side as the sound of a fast-approaching yell increases, following by a gust of air that ruffles Hiccup’s hair and the pages of his journal. He yelps and accidentally drops his book and charcoal, then skitters after them as they nearly slide down the hill. Toothless sweeps his wing forward to prevent the book from tumbling further.

“Thanks, Bud,” Hiccup says. He straightens up, reaching out to lean on his dragon after the sudden movement elicits a painful popping noise from his spine. “Gah! What unholy goblins are speeding around like that at this hour of the morning?”

He squints into the distance and just barely makes out a pair of auburn braids, a mop of blonde hair, and a large, blue dragon.

His shoulders go slack. “Oh, goody. Those are my unholy goblins.”

Hiiii!! I fell in love with 'until the colours fade' and the end made me think that maybe Aegon was going to commit su*cide? it felt open ended too as if maybe he could work things out with Jae and they could be the family they both so desperately need. I was so angry with Aegon at first because the neglecting hit close to home, but I ended up feeling sad for both of them in the end. It felt like you meant to keep the mother unnamed but was she Amara? i wanted to guess because of the moodboard and the girl with the dark hair.

If you want to reveal anything about their life when she was still alive I'd really love that!! The idea of Aegon mourning her when he found out she died just made me so sad and I didn't even wannt to imagine it because they always feel so joined in my mind

It is open-ended. It's ultimately up to the reader to decide what happens without any input from me. My irls read the fic today and were dragging Aegon over the coals because they refused to accept that anyone once they've become a parent has any excuse not to raise a perfectly normal, well balanced child, which I didn't agree with, but to each their own. Traumatised children grow up to become parents all the time and don't stop being traumatised. All you can do is your best, even if that counts as bare minimum to someone else. To you, that is your best. Your intentions are there.

Aegon definitely didn't mean to let his intentions slip, but after the mother's death, aka someone he obviously relied on heavily in terms of emotional support, he lost his mind a little bit. His family is busy with their own lives, and are also quite neglectful of him because I imagine he's not the success story amongst the Targ-Hightowers. No one came to his house after the funeral to clean up and make sure there was food in the fridge when he got back. That's how they never realised Jae was still there until a week and a half later. He had the excuse (barely) of numbing himself on alcohol and drugs to avoid facing up to the fact that his wife was gone, hence why he forgot her. He let Jaehaera parent herself which was also wrong, and she became a latch key kid pretty much. If the electric bill isn't paid, the washing machine isn't working, and then who's cleaning her underwear? At eleven, she's probably thinking whatever, it's fine i'll reuse it, it doesn't look dirty because no one's teaching her that stuff (can't even say it's common sense because kids will be kids). She hasn't started her period yet, but I imagine Aegon would be a lot more aware of that this time round and actually buy her the stuff before he drags Helaena in to explain it all LOL.

And yes, 'Momma' was in fact Amara. And yuupppp, pulled my heartstrings to think of Aegon losing her. She was a baby having a baby, and then suddenly she was gone and Jaehaerys went with her.

Their life before she died was happy, I must admit. They both obviously struggled massively with mental illness and addiction and whatnot, but the kids were their pride and joy, something they made between them and would go to the ends of the earth for. Aegon was a good dad before she died, which is the most heartbreaking bit. Glimpses of it come through, for instance the glitter shampoo, buying Jae sweets after they fight, running after the ice cream van, but these are all notably things he did when she was way younger and before Amara died, suggesting he's frozen in time. Jae is growing up, and her Dad is failing to keep up. He's sluggish and trapped in memories he wants to return to. He used to put his all into making sure his kids were happy on the little money they had, and that his wife wasn't sinking into her depression again (Amara went through a couple suicide attempts during her post-partum period). She was terrified she'd go through with it one day and that it would never end even once the kids were older, and Aegon was the one who was like I won't let you, I promise, I'll keep you here even if it's not that simple.

The sad irony is she died and it was completely out of both their hands. She didn't want to leave, but she did. He tells Jaehaera no, baby, you're all me to disguise the fact that she has her mother's eyes and those eyes haven't looked at him the same since Amara died. Obviously Jaehaera's lonely and depressed and struggling to cope, so when she looks at her dad, he sees all those things staring back at him. He sees what Amara used to look like in her worst moments, but he doesn't have half the mental and emotional energy he used to in order to help his daughter. Instead, he drowns and watches her drown with him.

Amara is probably somewhere in the afterlife crying over the pair of them and not enjoying heaven I'm ngl 😭

Two very different vibes here but aaahhhh let me ramble for a moment!! First of all, I love the idea and variety!! Also I am absolutely loving that the phone with Kerry's decal is this really nice bluey purple, cause that is Vince's colour and asdfkdjajsöffas. He'd probably slap the decal on as a joke (they have an inside joke of where Vince is Kerry's biggest fan, obviously) but then grow really fond of it XD

Then also loving the sleek black Arasaka one... I think he'd probably send this exact pic to Jackie at some point, new company flat, new company phone, just promoted to Counterintel - but the Vince Jackie knows is still somewhere under all the sleek blackness, not to worry.
