it's funny, because aki claims to hate you. he claims he can't stand you, he swears you're nothing but an nuisance, just an annoying devil he's been forced to live with. but his actions are nothing like his words. they never have been.

after the darkness devil incident, your mind is filled with horrible thoughts. you're haunted by what you saw every time you close your eyes, and every time you sleep, you have nothing but horrifying nightmares. you feel terrified every second of the day. your brain won't stop telling you that the darkness devil is coming for you.

and when aki sees how troubled you are, he seems to take on a totally different role. he allows you to stick to his side, and he doesn't have a problem with following you everywhere, even if it means bathing with you, or holding your hand when you go to the bathroom. he doesn't have a problem with feeding you, either, or dressing you when you can't dress yourself. it doesn't matter to him that he only has one arm, nor that he can hardly do things himself anymore because of it. his focus is fully on taking care of you.

he lets you cry into his shirt. he wipes the tears from your cheeks whenever they begin to form. and he makes room on his bed so you can sleep with him. aki holds you all night long, although he hardly gets any sleep. he spends most of the night watching you, making sure you're sleeping alright, and stroking your head with a gentle palm and a soft touch.

he'll never admit how worried about you he is. he'll never say how he cares about you way more than he lets on. but he'll take care of you, no matter what.
