okay but kathryn's ACTING. especially in ep 4 in the almost-kiss scene. the microexpressions, the way her posture changes, her body language, the tone of her voice, everything is SO chef's kiss. such attention to detail. i can just. Feel what agatha is feeling by watching her. i'm going insane. kathryn hahn you are so insanely talented

idk just something about how wanda and agatha are both mothers is really getting to me today

something about the way agatha says “you tied your family to this twisted world and now one can’t exist without the other” in a different tone than we ever hear from her. one of the only times that she isn’t putting on a show or mocking her because she gets it

different obviously because vision is her husband, but the tone agatha uses. like she understand ripping the world apart to get to her family. she could never judge her for what she did in westview because she gets it. she probably would have done it herself if she had the power. the only thing agatha hates about wanda is the power she wields with no regard for what it can do

but agatha has gone so long without Nicky at this point (likely HUNDREDS of years), she has probably tried everything but has had to accept that maybe she’ll never get him back and wanda just hasn’t reached that level yet

Due to lack of information, there's a limit to how much I can or wish to analyze 1x05 at the moment. I'm mostly in a "wait and see" place with it. My only certainty is that, for the shit to hit the fan now, with 4 whole episodes left, means that things will improve from here -- where can we go but up? lol-- if all of that happened in ep 8, I'd be far more worried. Thankfully, we only have to wait a week to get the next episode! Given all that that, though, I wanted to turn to something I've been thinking about re: Jennifer.

The show specific Tarot cards have one for her, and it's the High Priestess. Here's the classic Smith-Waite design (left) and Jen's card (right):

Furthermore, when Lilia first meets her she says "High Priestess" (like how Lilia says "Three of Pentacles" when divining who the members of the coven should be and there's a show specific design for that as well or how she says "Three of Swords" about Agatha, whose show specific design is the Three of Swords).

The High Priestess is associated with many things including, significant for a woman who chose to be a midwife and healer, fertility/life. She's also about being in balance and trusting yourself, your own inner guidance and intuition. My theory is that currently--due to the trauma of what that man did to her--Jennifer is the High Priestess *reversed*:

Repression of intuition, blocked psychic powers… lack of self-belief, fertility issues [...] The High Priestess reversed in a tarot reading indicates your intuition is trying to guide you and your instincts are correct. However, in the reversed position this Major Arcana card shows that you are not hearing it. (source)

She herself says she doesn't know how he did it without magic:

It might turn out that the block is psychological and the ways that the story keeps returning to moments where she comes through--during the first trial and then saving the kid's life--especially the way others' belief and support plays into that, are about her connecting with her inner power and self-belief. That might be the key to processing what happened and being "upright" again. I think that is the place where the story is going to take her.

favorite season 1 episode: aaa it's gonna be so hard to choose for all of these! i think for s1 i gotta give it to Preggers (1x04). mainly bc of Kurt's storyline this ep and the coming out scene with Burt (best dad ever)

favorite season 2 episode: aaa i love season 2 so much, it's so hard to choose! i think it's a tie between Original Song (2x16) and Prom Queen (2x20), though Never Been Kissed (2x06) comes in a veeery close second

favorite season 3 episode: honestly? not always the biggest fan of season 3 😬 i'm gonna go with The First Time (3x05) tho for obvious klaine-related reasons <3

favorite season 4 episode: either The Break-Up (4x04) or Guilty Pleasures (4x17). i enjoy angst, if y'all haven't noticed <3

favorite season 5 episode: three-way tie between New New York (5x14), Bash (5x15), and Tested (5x16). New York half of season 5 my beloved <3 and these first three of that half are just a really good stretch of episodes

favorite season 6 episode: this one might be a little controversial BUT Hurt Locker Part 2 (6x05). LISTEN. it's batshit wild and i love it. (honestly most of season 6 is batshit wild and i love it. the writers were smoking crack this season)

episode that makes me cry: The Quarterback (5x03) :( Cory Monteith left this world much too soon :(

episode that makes me laugh: basically any of the ones that are just. wild. Vitamin D (1x06), Props (3x20), Pupper Master (5x07)

favorite tribute episode: oooh either Rumours (2x19) or Love, Love, Love (5x01)

favorite Christmas episode: A Very Glee Christmas (2x10) <3 we get BICO <3 and there's some pretty silly plots and i like it <3

episode with the best songs: so many episodes have so many good songs. but i'm gonna give it to The Break-Up (4x04) bc i think i have every song from that episode in my gcv playlist

favorite sectionals episode: i think i gotta go with the very first one, Sectionals (1x13) it just makes my little heart happy <3

favorite regionals episode: again, gonna go with og Journey to Regionals (1x22) look season 1 is solid, okay?

favorite nationals episode: i'm torn between Nationals (3x21) bc it's pretty iconic and i love the outfits and City of Angels (5x11) bc i like the tribute to Finn. and Burt and Carole are there. and Sam's "I did my best Mr. Schue" makes me emo

episode most people like but i don't: oof i think Saturday Night Glee-ver (3x16). i don't hate it, it's just not my favorite

episode most people dislike but i like: Previously Unaried Christmas (5x08) it's Batshit Wild and makes me laugh

3x01 - some GOOD communication between malec <3 also pool scene!!

3x02 - ooh warlock party and shenanigans that follow (many malec scenes bitching on lorenzo AS THEY SHOULD)

3x03 - dinner w maryse,,, AND too domestic for my heart to handle cooking scene

3x04 - aaa the “we’ll make it through this” scene (my HEART)

3x05 - ah some malec angst (and alec makes some stupid decisions) and!! one of my fav magnus outfits

3x06 - some more malec angst AND drunk alec and also the whole family dinner thing djfhj hilarious <3

3x07 - malec hug in the institute,,, magnus blames himself for things he Shouldn’t

3x08 - magnus’ outfit in this one <33 

3x09 - magnus is running himself ragged for no reason

3x10 - magnus loses his magic... Yeah. oh and also the last ten minutes of the ep are probably the best thing in the show objectively (meaning, when i’m thinking of the plot and not of malec)

3x11 - oh some magnus angst... APOTHECARY SCENE!! ALSO MADZIE SCENES!! AAAAND “oh you know how we get” 

3x12 - ah ofc the training scene <3

3x13 - oo some good magnus & izzy interaction followed by some good lightwood siblings interaction

3x14 - oh wonderful magnus gets lorenzo’s piss magic and loses his apartment :/

3x15 - magnus... almost dies (also the jealousy scene djfdhj) aND HEIDI FINALLY DIES

3x16 - OOF THE ‘STAY WITH ME’ EP,,, malec’s dance scene and alec crying for the first time in the show (lol one tear) AND ALEC SAYING THAT MAGNUS IS HIS EVERYTHING 

3x17 - some bad decisions are made... (ykw that should be the tagline of this show) and alec almost proposes,,, magnus breaks down (hsj oscar when)

3x18 - the best acted scene in the show... the malec breakup

3x19 - magnus wanders thru nyc because alec forgot he doesn’t have a fucking apartment! OH ALSO MAGNUS GETS HIS MAGIC BACK <3 ALSOOO some flashbacks <333 ugh the lock one <3 crying

3x20 - MALEC GET ENGAGED!!! also the most aesthetically pleasing scene in the show 👌 alec pulling magnus into a kiss (BY HIS LAPELS) with the world burning behind them <3

3x21 - aa some angst AND ALSO MALEC’S REUNION <333 (BEST HUG I SAID WHAT I SAID)

3x22 - mALEC GET MARRIED!!!!! ALSO THE ONE YEAR JUMP MALEC SCENE,,, LIVES IN MY HEAD RENT FREE

And Agatha said "Lorna's ballad is a protection spell" with soooo much respect. Earlier when they were arguing about the lyrics and Lilia said to ask Alice bc her mother wrote the most famous version of the ballad (so she was their resident Ballad Expert) Agatha was like "Oh! Fine! You think you know more about the ballad than me? Fine!" She's very protective of it. But she respects Lorna's version bc that's an acceptable way for it to be used.

Rio said Agatha was hiding Billy from her and in episode 4 she asks why she brought him and Agatha just said "many hands" and then Rio looked him all curiously. And Agatha JUMPED UP REAL FAST and 100% panicked and then said "maybe the road is like Switzerland" bc she knew that would distract Rio. She didn't really want to call a truce (not that she would admit) and she knows the road isn't Switzerland bc the road doesn't exist but she knew it would distract Rio and that's what she was really worried about
