Favourite moment related to Arthur now knowing?

oh, there's so much. all of it would be the easy answer. i really did like the way he went through so many phases of knowing, learning and recognising. i liked the way they portrayed his raw emotion and all the stages of such a reveal. i liked how he came to accept the idea, the absolutely crushing delivery of "i don't know what i would've done" when he asks why merlin never told him (perhaps my favourite line of all, i think). and i love merlin's "i didn't want to put you in such a position" (i need to gif that moment and talk about it in depth, there's so much to be said).

although they did not give us the realisation of truly all that merlin did for arthur, the way merlin's power was showcased throughout the last episode starting from a firey dragon to lighting fires to fighting bad guys - it was a nice way of essentially letting arthur know without sitting him down and monologuing a re-telling of his own life. their conversations as a whole were certainly special, every single one, all of it packed with more than could ever be said.

a lot is talked about the line "i want you to always be you", but i even thought it came a little out of nowhere. it's a very tangible shift in arthur's feelings and reaction. again, an argument is to be made that he's dying, but he has so much to consider at that point, so much, and yet he focuses so tunnel-vision-like on the reveal. he's lucid enough to keep it to himself, injured enough to let it slip, but either way, it's the single most important thing he could've said to merlin at that point. and you know he meant it with all he had. i still have a lot to consider with these two episodes and i will get around to dissecting them, but it's all a little tangled in my mind right now. for now, i'll stick with the idea/feeling behind the "i don't know what i would've done" line as my favourite.
