I do, I just for some reason tend to read AUs more! Non-AUs that I like:
- Evoking Passions by googooplex100 - set post season 6, very intense but very very good!
- Ortho Goddess by Maaike83 - an excellent post divorce fic. I love it.
- the Thing!verse by a_windsor - my favourite depiction of calzona with kids, set in the same universe but if Sofia didn’t happen
- Dreaming by Gabs88 - what if Arizona didn’t come back from Malawi
- Probability by Gabs88 - ok so technically AU but it’s a continuation of the if/then episode so like, AU but also not AU

i am totally with you on that! it’s especially hard to nail a child’s voice and that author has it down pat. it’s soooo fluffy and actually warms my heart like “svie” gets me every time! there are more thoughts i would like to add but i’m not sure where you’re at and dont wanna give spoilers, so i’ll wait till you’re done :)
ooh you have an outline of a calzona-with-kids fic? exciting! those are either a hit or miss imo (the ones that are done right are amazing though! see: More of You.)
you mentioned really needing fluff atm, are you working on a particularly angsty storyline?
Yes! The Svie stuff gets me literally every time! I’m currently about a third of the way through and so far it’s been pretty smooth sailing but I’ll keep you posted when I get further!
I do, and to be fair I quite liked where it was going plot wise but I wouldn’t want to post something I’m not sure I’ve nailed - ie, the kids. I’ve also also got another (lol) one with kids in it that I actually really nearly started posting at one point but then I hit a bit of a wall. I’ll probably come back to them both in the future and do a bit more research, as I did like both of them quite a lot. I suppose you can probably see a trend here - I love plotting and starting fics but actually writing the meat of them is so much harder!!
My favourite fic with kids where they nail the voice is probably the Thing!verse series by a_windsor, I also thought Probability by gabs88 also did it pretty well. There are definitely others but these are just the ones off the top of my head. More of You will definitely be added to that list though once I’ve finished it!
The need for fluff is actually more in my real life, some sad family things have happened recently and so I’ve been enjoying reading something happy! My new fic is going to have angst but I’m not at any major angst just yet in what I’m writing.
