So happy BRUCE BEARSTEIN is living a SAFE life out of our prison… And ironically temporarily at Lancaster State Prison. @pawsforlifek9 changing lives. I renamed him at North Central and was probably his first walk there. Posted @withregram • @priscillaojohnston Yesterday I met some of the @pawsforlifek9 trainers and the dogs they are training and got to observe them as they trained. These men work in teams to transform overlooked shelter dogs into good canine citizens. The dogs get the training they need to be good pets in a loving home. And the men learn the value of diligence, team work & selflessness. It was a big bundle of hope, 2nd chances, redemption, atonement & love. I wanted to grab more videos on Gracie yesterday. But my teammates took her out and got two great videos. She is 🚩urgent 🚩to get out of the shelter! Fun fact: She’s practically hairless except for tiny white tuffs of fur, so that’s great for those who don’t want to deal with dog hair… And she’s super sweet. A velvety hippo. This adorable floopy-eared doll takes treats like a lady, and is a playful 3 year old babe! Gracie comes when called, and is generally attentive to her handler. She came in with another dog, Bruce Bearsteen (#A1829785) after their owner was arrested on 12/13/2018. Gracie has become quiet anxious in-kennel, and now needs OUT of the shelter! Once she gets out where she can stretch her legs and get some fresh air, Gracie is SUCH A GOOD GIRL! Gracie is 72 lbs. of adorableness, and truly deserves all the love in the world. Since at the shelter, she has had a couple play dates with other dogs and shown she can be tolerant of energetic dogs and also playful herself. He's very affectionate and will hug you and lick your face. He never bites or snaps not even when playing. He slept through all the fireworks, he seemed to have no anxiety whatsoever. He's fine around people and kids. When I saw him at the shelter there was another family interested and he came right up to the kids and was very friendly. When I take him on walks he's a dream on the leash. I've walked him and let him meet dogs that we come across and he hasn't been a problem, including small dogs. He does seem to prefer more mellow dogs. I haven't had him off leash with any other dogs. He needs some socialization with dogs as he can rush forward in excitement, which may seem pushy to other dogs. A good fit is someone who can train with him and is willing to commit to him forever.
