School Uniform - R
Unlock Card âGet to class now! Youâre wasting time.â
Groovy âSomeday I ought to teach you how youâre supposed to behave towards your superiors.â
Home Setting âI take close care of my appearance.â
Home Transitions âI was miraculously able to enroll at the same school as the Young Master. Iâd like to watch his growing success from as close-up as possible.â
âIâm hungry... The bread from the school store isnât filling at all. I want more meat.â
âI joined the horse-riding club because I thought itâd be wise to pick up practical activities. All knights should be able to ride a horse.â
Home Transition (Login Greeting) âTo make sure that youâre not a threat to the Young Master, Iâve decided to observe you all day today. Donât run out of sight.â
Home Taps âStyling my hair every morning is a chore, but I never want the Young Master to see me looking sloppy.â
âSilver is the only person I know in the Valley of Thorns from the same generation as me. âMy friendâ...? As if Iâd call him a friend!âÂ
âThe Young Master is also taking classes here. Itâs 1000 years too early for us to be skipping them!!â
âI have a loud voice? What are you saying? Your voice is just too quiet!!â
âAre you trying to play tag? Iâve long since outgrown childish games like that.â
PE Uniform - R
Unlock Card âAs if Iâd lose any contest! The training all of you have done is nothing compared to mine!â
Groovy âWant me to tell you my training routine? Only if you can keep up.â
Home Setting âLet me take you on.â
Home Transitions âTo improve yourself, you need to eat well, work well, sleep well, and play hard! ...Thatâs what Master Lilia taught me.â
âI train so that I can be the Young Masterâs sword and shield whenever he needs me.â
âI heard weâre having a long-distance race for our next PE class. Iâm better at short-distance, though... No. You arenât a guard without good stamina.â
Home Transition (Login Greeting) âWhy is your back hunched over like that? You look sloppy! Stick out your chest and fix that posture!â
Home Taps âWhenever I go to practice for the horse-riding club, the horses always get scared of me. Iâm not going to eat them or anything. Theyâre so skittish.â
âBeing left-handed often comes in handy when Iâm sparring. But no matter which hand I use, my victories will always be in the name of the Young Master.â
âThereâs no point in training without a reason. Itâs important to me that I gain power to protect the Young Master.â
âDonât waste your breath. All that matters while youâre training is willpower, persistence, and a fighting spirit!! Thatâs it!â
âYou want to play soccer together? ...Alright. I certainly have no plans of losing to a human.â
Lab Coat - SR
Unlock Card âYour appearance reflects who you are inside. I wonât let a single wrinkle to pass.â
Groovy âYou want to study with me? Very well. Show me what youâve got.â
Home Setting âI donât have any blind spots in todayâs class either.â
Home Transitions âIâll get the highest score on our next test. And then the Young Master will praise me...!â
âThe environment in the greenhouse is just amazing. Itâs warm, humid, and so easy to relax in there.â
âI learned everything that was covered in our lesson last period when I was in middle school. Education in the Valley of Thorns was very intensive.â
Home Transition (Login Greeting) âThe most Iâll do is give you a few hints for your assignment. Iâd rather not be dragged down during our joint class.â
Home Transition (Groovy) âYou look exhausted. Iâll share some tips with you on how to remain focused.â
Home Taps âIâm very good at solving both numerical and chemical equations. But thereâs never a need to use cheap tricks like that when the Young Master is around. Heheh.â
âDo you have any Awakening Potions? I want to try making Silver drink an entire bucket full.â
âMaster Lilia gave me this drink. He said itâs an excellent beverage that lets you take in your meat, fish, fruits, and vegetables all at once!â
âIâm not good at art, since itâs so subjective. Subjects where the solutions are very clear is more my speed.â
âStop tugging at my clothes. I canât appear in front of the Young Master looking indecent!â
Home Tap (Groovy) âCould you recommend a book for me? Iâll try reading it tonight.â
Ceremony Robes - SR
Unlock Card âThe Young Master would never get upset over something as minor as a school assembly.â
Groovy âHmph. Even you look befitting today.â
Home Setting âI donât want to see the Young Master look so dejected...â
Home Transitions âAs if Iâd ever feel nervous at a school event of all things! Festivals in the Valley of Thorns are so much grander than this.â
âHave you seen the Young Master anywhere? I havenât been able to reach him in a while. ...Donât tell me heâ ...Again?â
âItâs not worth having a ceremony if the Young Master isnât participating. They should just stop it midway through.â
Home Transition (Login Greeting) âYOUNG MAAAASTER!! Where did you go...? Oh, perfect timing. Come look for the Young Master with me.â
Home Transition (Groovy) âGrim was causing a ruckus again. I swear, I canât believe how much of a pig he is. ...What? Why are you looking at me like that?â
Home Taps âBefore coming to this academy, I spent an entire year dedicating myself to my studies. I did it because I had faith Iâd be able to get into this school too.â
âNo matter how alert you think you are, Master Lilia will always find a way to sneak behind you. Oh, see? Turn around.â
âI feel like Iâve gotten taller again lately. These robes might even end up being too small for me.â
âDo I look okay? Nothingâs out of place? Itâs fine if I appear in front of the Young Master like this, right..? ...Oi, are you even listening to me?â
âStop with that mumbling. If you want to say something then say it loud and clear!!â
Home Tap (Groovy) âThe Young Masterâs ideas are so grand. Sometimes, I canât even begin to understand them. Thatâs why I admire him so much.â
Birthday Celebration Outfit - SSR
This card was only obtainable during Sebekâs birthday event (Mar 15 - Mar 21, 2021).
Login on Birthday âHuman, have you come to give me a birthday present? I see... Thank you! I was just giving the Young Master my gratitude earlier as well. I am the luckiest man at this school!â
Unlock Card âNo matter if itâs my birthday, Iâm not going to abandon my duties as a guard or stop being vigilant!â
âI-I never thought Iâd be able to receive a birthday blessing from the Young Master... How lucky am I!!â
Groovy âDespite being a human, youâre celebrating to make me happy... Iâve improved my opinion of you, just a little. J-Just a little!â
Home Setting âAlright! I think I can still perfectly carry out my guard duties in this outfit.â
Home Transitions âThis cutlery and tableware is placed in the wrong order. Did you not know Iâm left-handed? You didnât do enough research beforehand!â
âLilia told me that âa sound soul lives in a trained body.â I must not forgo my training, even on my birthday.â
âMy magic manifested at a late age. When I was little, I always wanted to be like my older brother and sister, who could magically light the candles on a cake.â
Home Transition (Login Greeting) âIâve gone hungry all day to get ready for this party. I only had three servings for lunch!â
Home Transition (Groovy) âI-I lost again... This may be a party game, but I canât stand to keep losing to the likes of a human! One more round!â
Home Taps âAzul told me âI heard you liked Magical Analysisâ and gave me a rare book on it... but I feel like he wants something big in return.â
âRiddle gave me a special horseback riding lesson. You donât often get a chance like that. Iâll remember it as a fond birthday memory.â
âSilver, that bastard! He gave me dumbbells as a gift! That canât mean anything but him thinking my training isnât enough!â
âEpel gave me a fruit carving of the Young Master. Itâs an incredible piece of work... but thereâs no way I could bring myself to eat it!â
âI-I hear an explosion!? Whatâs happening!? ...Oh, youâre popping party poppers? Itâs so loud! You know youâre bothering the people around you!!â
Home Tap (Groovy) âHere, I went and got you ten plates of food. ...Youâre good with just one? Heh! I know youâre a human, but you eat so little.â
Duo Magic Sebek:Â âLet me thank you for your blessings, Cater!!!â Cater:Â âHBD, Sebek-kins~!â
Tutorial âFollow me, human! Make sure you commit the grand sight of the Young Master to memory.â
Lv Up âDid you see that!? Look at the progress I made!â
âIâll be able to take even more action now with this!â
âMm. Not bad.â
Max Lv Up âMaybe now Iâve turned into a man who can gain just a little of the Young Masterâs approval. ...No, I shouldnât act conceited. I need to get rid of these thoughts and focus on keeping myself devoted. Letâs go!â
Episode Lv Up âI always viewed you as nothing but a meager human, and yet youâve become someone I rely on so much... Youâre just always surprising me.â
Magic Lv Up âThis power...! Young Master! Did you see that just now!? Wait... Heâs not here. Kgh. That must mean this still isnât enough...!â
Limit Break âI need to get even bigger, smarter, and stronger to be a proper servant for the Young Master!â
Groovy âIâm feeling happy and energized! This really does feel nice. Make sure you never forget all this success Iâve made!â
Lesson Select âHuman! I decided to take a class with you today. Which one do you want? Hurry up and pick.â
âWhat? You look so nervous. Isnât the point of classes youâre weak in to be a challenge for you?â
âMaster Lilia taught me that your classes are just another part of your training. Iâm not going to slack off in any of my subjects.â

Mary Queen of Scotsâ letter to Anthony Babington approving his plot and Elizabeth Iâs assassination, 1586
âTrusty and well beloved / According to ye zeal and entire affection which I have known in you
towards the common cause of religion and mine, having always made accompt of you as of a principal and right worthy member to be employed both in the one and the other: it hath been no less consolation unto me to understand your estate as I have done by your last, and to have found means to renew my intelligence with you, then I felt grief all this while past to be without the same. I pray you therefore from henceforth to write unto me so often as you can of all occurrences which you may judge in any wise important to the good of my affairs: whereunto I shall not fail to correspond with all the care and diligence that shall be in my possibility.
For divers great and important considerations, which were here to long to be deduced, I cannot but greatly praise and commend your common desire to prevent in time the designs of our enemies for the extirpation of our religion out of this Realm with the ruin of us all. For I have long ago shown unto the foreign Catholic princes, and experience doth approve it, the longer that they and we delay to put hand on the matter on this side, the greater leisure have our enemies to prevail and win advantage over the said princes, as they have done against the king of Spain, and in the mean time the Catholics here remaining exposed to all forces of persecution and cruelty do daily diminish in number forces means and power. So as if remedy be not thereunto hastily provided, I fear not a little but they shall become all together unable for ever to arise again and to receive any aid at all, whensoever it were offered them. For mine own part I pray you to assure our principal friends that, albeit I had not in this cause any particular interest (that which I may pretend unto being of no consideration unto me in respect of the public good of this state) I shall be always ready and most willing to employ therein my life and all that I have or may ever look for in this world.
Now for to ground substantially this enterprise and to bring it to good success you must first examine deeply.
1. what forces as well on foot as on horse you may raise amongst you all and what Captains you shall appoint for them in every shire, in case a chief general cannot be had.
2. of what towns ports and havens you may assure yourselves, as well in the North west as South to receive succors from the lowe countries and Spain and France.
3. what place you esteem fittest and of greatest advantage to assemble the principal company of your forces at; and the same being assembled, whether or which way you have to march.
4. what foreign forces as well on horse as foot you require (which would be compassed conform to ye proportion of yours) for how long paid, and munition and ports the fittest for their landing in this Realm from the three foresaid foreign princes.
5. what provision of money and armour (in case you want) you would ask.
6. by what means do the six gentlemen deliberate to proceed.
7. and the manner also of my getting forth of this hold.
Upon which points having taken amongst you, who are the principal authors, and also as few in number as you can, the best resolution, my advice is that you impart the same with all diligence to Bernardino de Mendoza ambassador lieger for the king of Spain in France, who besides the experience he hath of the estate of this side, I may assure you will employ him therein most willingly. I shall not fail to write unto him of the matter with all the earnest recommendations that I can; as I shall also to any else that shall be needful. But you must make choice for managing of this affair with the said Mendoza and others out of the realm of some faithful and very secret personage unto whom only you must commit yourselves, to tend things be the more secret which for your own security I recommend unto you above the rest.
If your messenger bring you back again sure promise and sufficient assurance of the succor you demand, then thereafter (but no sooner, for that it were in vain) take diligent order that all those of your [?] on this side make so secretly as they can, provision of armour, fit horse and ready money, wherewith to hold themselves in readiness to march so soon as it shall be signified unto them by their chief and principals in every shire.
And for better coloring of the matter (reserving to the principal the knowledge of the ground of the enterprise) it shall be enough for the beginning to give out to the rest, that the said provisions are made only for fortifying yourselves in case of need against the puritans of this Realm: the principal whereof having the chief forces of the same in the low Countries, have (as you may let the brute go) designed to ruin and overthrow, at their return home, the whole Catholics, and to usurp the crown, not only against me and all other lawful pretenders thereunto, but against their own Queen that now is, if she will not altogether commit herself to their only government. The same pretexts may serve to sound and establish amongst you all an association and confederation general, as done only for your own just preservations and defence, as well in religion as lives, lands and goods against the oppression and attempts of the said puritans, without touching directly by writing any thing against that Queen, but rather showing yourselves willing to maintain her and her lawful heirs after heir, unnaming me.
The affairs being thus prepared and forces in readiness both without and within the Realm, then shall it be time to set the six gentlemen to work, taking order, upon the accomplishing of their designing, I may be suddenly transported out of this place, and that all your forces in the same time be on the field to meet me in tarrying for ye arrival of the foreign aid, which then must be hastened with all diligence. Â
Now, for that there can be no certain day appointed of the accomplishing of the said gentlemenâs design, to tend that others may be in readiness to take me from hence, I would that ye said gentlemen had always about them, or at the least at court, a fewer stout men furnished with good and speedy horses, for, so soon as the said designing shall be executed to come with all diligence to advertise thereof those that shall be appointed for my transporting, to tend that immediately thereafter they may be at the place of my abode, before that my keeper can have advice of the execution of the said designing, or at the least before he can fortify himself within the house, or carry me out of the same. It were necessary to dispatch two or three of the said advertisers by divers ways, to tend that, if the one be stayed, the other may come thorough; and at the same instant were it also needful to assay to cut of the posts ordinary ways.
This is the platt which I find best for this enterprise, and the order whereby you conduct the same for our common securities. For stirring on this side before you be well assured of sufficient foreign forces, it were for nothing [but] to put yourselves in danger of following the miserable fortune of such as have heretofore travailed in like occasions. And to take me forth of this place, unbeing before well assured to set me in the midst of a good army, or in some very good strength, where I may safely stay on the assembly of your forces and arrival of the said foreign succors, it were sufficient cause given to that Queen in catching me again, to enclose me forever in some hole, forth of the which I should never escape, if she did use me no worse, and to pursue with all extremity those that had assisted me, which would grieve me more then all the unhap [which] might fall upon my self. And therefore must I need yet once again admonish you so earnestly as I can to look and take heed most carefully and vigilantly to compass and assure so well all that shall be necessary for effectuating of the said enterprise, as with the grace of god you may bring the same to happy end: remitting to the judgment of our principal friends on this side with whom you have to deal herein, to ordain [and] conclude upon this present (which shall serve you only for an overture and proposition) as you shall amongst you find best: and to yourself in particular I refer to assure the gentlemen above mentioned of all that shall be requisite of my part for the entire execution of their good wills.
I leave also to your common resolutions to advise (in case their design does not take hold as may happen) whether you will or not pursue my transport and the execution of the rest of enterprise. But if the mishap should fall out but that you might not come by me being set in the Tower of London or in any other strength with greater guard: yet notwithstanding leave not, for godâs sake, to proceed in the rest of the enterprise: for I shall at any time die most contented, understanding of your delivery forth of the servitude wherein you are holden as slaves.
I shall assay that, at the same time that the work shall be in hand in these parts to make the Catholics of Scotland arise and to put my son in their hands, to the effect that from thence our enemies here may not prevail of any succor. I would also that some stirring in Ireland were labored for, and to be begonne somewhile before that any thing were done here, to tend the alarm might be given thereby on the flatt contrary side that the stroke should come from.
Your reasons to have some general head or chief, me thinketh, are very pertinent, and therefore were it good to sound obscurely for the purpose the Earl of Arundel or some of his brethren, and likewise to seek upon the young Earl of Northumberland, if he be at liberty. From over sea the Earl of Westmorland may be had, whose house and name may much, you know in the north proves [?]: as also the Lord Pagett, of good ability in some shires hereabout; both the one and the other may be brought home secretly: amongst which some more of the principal banished may return if the enterprise be once resolute. The said L. Paget is now in Spain, and may treat there all which by his brother Charles or directly by himself you will commit unto him touching this affair.
Beware that none of your messengers, whom you send forth of the Realm, carry over any letters upon themselves, but make their dispatches be conveyed either after or before them by some other. Take heed of spies and false brethren that are amongst you, especially of some priests already practiced by our enemies for your discovery, and in any wise keep never any paper about you that in any sort may do harm: for from like errors have come the only condemnation of all such as have suffered heretofore, against whom could there otherwise have been nothing proved. Discover as little as you can your names and intentions to the French Ambassador now Lieger at London: for although he be, as I understand, a very honest gentleman, of good conscience and religion, yet fear I yet his Master entertaineth with that Queen a course far contrary to our designs: which may move him to cross us, if it should happen he had any particular knowledge thereof.
All this while past I have sewed to change and remove from this house, and for answer the Castle of Dudley only hath been named to serve the turn: so as by apparance within the end of this summer I may gone thither.
Wherefore advise, so soon as I shall be there, what provision may be had about that part of my escape from thence. If I stay here, there is for that purpose but one of these three means following to be looked.
The first that at one certain day appointed in my walking abroad on horseback on the moors betwixt this and Stafford, where ordinarily you know very few people do pass, a fifty or threescore men well horsed and armed come to take me there, as they may easily, my keeper having with him ordinarily but eighteen or twenty horsemen only with daggers.
The second mean is to come at midnight or soon after to set fire in the barns and stables, which you know are near to the house, and whilst my Guardian his servants shall run forth to the fire, your company (having every one a mark whereby they may know one another under night) might surprise the house, where I hope with the few servants I have about me, I were able to give you correspondence.
And the third, some that bring Carts hither ordinarily coming early in the morning, their Carts might be so prepared and with such Cartleaders that being just in the middest of the great gate ye Carts might fall down or overwhelm, and that thereupon you might come suddenly with your followers to make yourself Master of the house, and carry me away; so you might do easily, before that ever any number of soldiers (who lodge in sundry places forth of this place, some a half and some a whole mile off) might come to the relief.
Whatsoever issue the matter taketh, I do and will think myself obliged, as long as I live, towards you  for the offers you make to hazard yourself as you do for my delivery, and by any means that ever I may have I shall do my endeavor to recognise by effects your deserts herein. I have commanded a more ample alphabet to be made for you, which herewith you will receive.
God almighty have you in protection.
Your most assured friend forever )-(.
Fail not to burn this present quickly.â Â Â Â Â

grace has made us pure in our Creatorâs eyes
as daughters & sons of our heavenly Father.
and there is a great mystery as well in being known as the Bride of our King. which means, there will be a heavenly wedding at some point as a secret elopement from this world.
Paul touches upon this spiritual truth in his Letter of 2nd Corinthians at the start of Todayâs chapter from the New Testament:
[The Virgin Bride of Christ]
Now, please bear with some of my âcrazinessâ for a moment. Yes, please be patient with me.
You need to know that Godâs passion is burning inside me for you, because, like a loving father, I have pledged your hand in marriage to Christ, your true bridegroom. Iâve also promised that I would present his fiancĂ©e to him as a pure virgin bride. But now Iâm afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpentâs clever lies, your thoughts may be corrupted and you may lose your single-hearted devotion and pure love for Christ. For you seem to gladly tolerate anyone who comes to you preaching a pseudo-Jesus, not the Jesus we have preached. You have accepted a spirit and gospel that is false, rather than the Spirit and gospel you once embraced. How tolerant you have become of these imposters!
Now, I believe that I am not inferior in any way to these special âsuper-apostlesâ you are attracted to. For although I may not be a polished or eloquent speaker, Iâm certainly not an amateur in revelation knowledge. Indeed, we have demonstrated this to you time and again.
Have I committed a sin by degrading myself to dignify you? Was I wrong to preach the gospel of God to you free of charge? I received ample financial support from other churches just so that I could freely serve you. Remember, when I was with you I didnât bother anyone when I needed money, for my needs were always supplied by my Macedonian friends. So I was careful, and will continue to be careful, that I never become a burden to you in any way.
As the reality of Christ lives within me, my glad boast of offering the gospel free of charge will not be silenced throughout the region of Achaia. Why? Is it because I have no love for you? God knows how much I love you! But in order to eliminate the opportunity for those âsuper-apostlesâ to boast that their ministry is on the same level as ours I will continue this practice. For they are not true apostles but deceitful ministers who masquerade as âspecial apostlesâ of the Anointed One. That doesnât surprise us, for even Satan transforms himself to appear as an angel of light! So itâs no wonder his servants also go about pretending to be ministers of righteousness. But in the end they will be exposed and get exactly what they deserve.
So I repeat. Let no one think that Iâm a fool. But if you do, at least show me the patience you would show a fool, so that I too may boast a little. Of course, what Iâm about to tell you is not with the Lordâs authority, but as a âfool.â For since many love to boast about their worldly achievements, allow me the opportunity to join them. And since you are so smart and so wise to gladly put up with the foolishness of others, now put up with mine. You actually allow these imposters to put you into bondage, take complete advantage of you, and rob you blind! How easily you endure those who, in their arrogance, destroy your dignity or even slap you in the face. I must admit, to our shame that we were too âweakâ to relate to you the way they do. But now let me dare to boast like a âfool.â
Are these âsuper-apostlesâ of yours Hebrews? I am too. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? Me too! Are they servants of the Anointed One? Iâm beside myself when I speak this way, but I am much more of a servant than they. I have worked much harder for God, taken more beatings, and been dragged to more prisons than they. Iâve been flogged excessively, multiple times, even to the point of death.
Five times Iâve received thirty-nine lashes from the Jewish leaders. Three times I experienced being beaten with rods. Once they stoned me. Three times Iâve been shipwrecked; for an entire night and a day I was adrift in the open sea. In my difficult travels Iâve faced many dangerous situations: perilous rivers, robbers, foreigners, and even my own people. Iâve survived deadly peril in the city, in the wilderness, with storms at sea, and with spies posing as believers. Iâve toiled to the point of exhaustion and gone through many sleepless nights. Iâve frequently been deprived of food and water, left hungry and shivering out in the cold, lacking proper clothing.
And besides these painful circumstances, I have the daily pressure of my responsibility for all the churches, with a deep concern weighing heavily on my heart for their welfare. I am not aloof, for who is desperate and weak and I do not feel their weakness? Who is led astray into sin and I do not burn with zeal to restore him?
If boasting is necessary, I will boast about examples of my weakness. The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is eternally praised, knows that I am speaking the truth. Once, when I was in Damascus, the governor under King Aretas had his troops searching for me to have me arrested, but I was stuffed in a basket and lowered down through a window and managed to escape.
The Letter of 2nd Corinthians, Chapter 11 (The Passion Translation)
Todayâs paired chapter of the Testaments is chapter 9 of First Kings where God personally visits Solomon after the dedication of the Temple in Jerusalem:
After Solomon had constructed the Eternalâs temple, his own palace, and many other building projects that he desired, the Eternal came to Solomon again just as He had at Gibeon.
Eternal One: I have received all the prayers and requests you have prayed to Me, and I have honored what you have asked of Me. I have consecrated this temple, which you have raised, by putting My name there forever. My eyes and heart will be there continuously. If you live before Me just as your father David didâwith honor and righteousness, abiding by all that I have commanded you, keeping My laws and judgmentsâI will sustain your throne over Israel forever as I promised your father David that I would when I said, âYour descendants will never fail to sit upon Israelâs throne.â
But if you or your offspring stray from Me, break My commands and laws that I have given you, and serve and worship other gods, then there will be definite consequences to your actions: I will cut Israel out of the land I gave to them, I will remove the temple I consecrated in honor of My name from My sight, and Israel will become the object of jokes for all people of the world. Know that this temple which is now honored will be nothing more than a pile of rubble. All who walk by will shake their heads and ask, âWhat has driven the Eternal One to do this to our land and temple?â The answer will come, âHe did this because they turned their backs on Himâtheir God who led their ancestors out of Egyptâand gave their hearts to other gods, worshiping and serving them. That is why the Eternal One has done all this misery to them.â
Twenty years passed, and Solomon had constructed the two houses: the temple of the Eternal and the palace of the king. Tyreâs king, Hiram, had given Solomon all the cedar, cypress, and gold he desired for those projects, so Solomon granted Hiram twenty cities in Galilee.
Hiram traveled from Tyre to view the cities Solomon was giving to him, but he was not satisfied.
Hiram: What is this, my brother? Do you call these cities?
People still refer to these cities as the land of Cabul, meaning âworthless,â even today.
Hiram gave approximately 9,000 pounds of gold to Solomon.
King Solomon used foreign slave laborers, taken from cities he conquered, for the construction of the Eternalâs temple, the kingâs palace, the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer. What follows is the report of it:
Pharaoh, Egyptâs king, had captured Gezer, set it on fire, killed the Canaanites who were dwelling there, and then given the entire city as a dowry for his daughter who married Solomon. Solomon restored the border areas of Gezer, the lower part of Beth-horon, Baalath and Tamar in Judahâs desert country, all the cities he used for storage, as well as the cities he used for his chariots and horsemen. Solomon also built whatever he desired in Jerusalem, Lebanon, and all lands he reigned over. All the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites who still remained in his territories even though they were not Israelites, the Israelites sought to annihilate; but from those who remained, Solomon assembled his conscripted labor force. This is still done today. Solomon did not turn the Israelites into slaves. The Israelites were soldiers, servants, princes, captains, charioteers, and cavalrymen. All these menâ550 in allâwere the most important officials involved in Solomonâs work, controlling all the workers.
Pharaohâs daughter traveled from the city of David to visit the house which Solomon had raised for her. Solomon then constructed the Millo.
Three times a year, Solomon presented burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar he constructed in honor of the Eternal One. He burned incense on this altar which stood before the Eternal. His work on the temple was finished.
King Solomon constructed a fleet of ships in Ezion-geber, which is in the land of Edom near Eloth on the Red Sea. Hiram commanded some of his most experienced sailors to be the crew of the fleet. These sailors were in the company of Solomonâs servants. They traveled to Ophir. When they got there, they gathered tons of gold and transported it back to King Solomon.

A Resting Place
âNot by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour.â (Titus 3:5-6)
Certainly one of the most precious doctrines of all Scripture is that reflected in our text. Our salvation depends not on our own âworks of righteousnessâ but upon His mercy and grace, given us freely through the atoning work of Jesus Christ our Savior.
The grand old hymn âMy Faith Has Found a Resting Placeâ reflects this theme. Let us use its four verses and chorus to focus our study as well as our hearts these next four days.
My faith has found a resting place, Not in device nor creed;
I trust the Ever-living One, His wounds for me shall plead.
I need no other argument, I need no other plea,
It is enough that Jesus died, And that He died for me.
Nothing we could do (i.e., device) or nothing we or our church could believe (i.e., creed) can provide a resting place for our faith. âFor we which have believed [i.e., faith, same Greek word] do enter into rest....For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own worksâ (Hebrews 4:3, 10). The only work that counts for anything is that which the ever-living One accomplished when He died on the cross. âWho his own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes [i.e., wounds] ye were healedâ (1 Peter 2:24). It is not so much our physical health in view here but the healing of our sin-sick souls.
Since âChrist died for our sinsâ (1 Corinthians 15:3), there is no more penalty to be paid. Since He rose from the dead, He conquered both sin and its power, and our faith can rest. JDM

âSentâ based on Isaiah 6:1-8 and John 3:1-17
Rev. Sara E. BaronFirst United Methodist Church of Schenectady603 State St. Schenectady, NY 12305Pronouns: she/her/hershttp://fumcschenectady.org/When I was 7, my friend Becca was in a church that focused on âbeing saved.â Â As far as I understood it, âbeing savedâ involved taking a teacher from her Sunday School into the church library, proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and praying a specific prayer. Â This, apparently, was not to be done too early or one might not believe it with oneâs whole heart, but should be done as soon as possible so as to ensure eternal salvation.
Becca was very excited that she had been saved and frequently asked me if I had been. I always answered no.  This answer always resulted in a long lecture about why I should âbe saved.â  The lecture, in turn, irritated me.  One day I had a brilliant revelation⊠although I had never âbeen savedâ in Beccaâs definition, I believed that Jesus loved me just as I was.  I didnât think that there were specific hoops to jump through in order for God to accept me.  So, the next time Becca asked me if I was saved I said yes!  I wasnât saved in her world view, but I was in mine.
Beccaâs understanding of being saved is a part of our Christian tradition. So was mine. Â In the years since, my perspective has gained more knowledge and nuance. I now know that salvation is about God's work towards healing and wholeness in the world. Â I've come to believe that God desires âsalvation for all of creationâ which isn't about afterlife at all, but about the kindom coming to earth. Â I've also learned a lot more about how things were in Jesus' day. Â Still, as a whole, I'm at a peace with my 7 year old decision to answer as I did.
In the time of Jesus, most people believed that when you died, you ceased to exist â from dust to dust in those days meant no afterlife and no eternal soul. Â In the Greeco-Roman religion that was dominate in the lands that surrounded Jesus, Â the gods were immortal â and people became immortal only when they were promoted to god-status because of an extraordinary life. Â The Sadducees, who were the ruling party in Judaism, utterly denied the possibility of afterlife. Â Neither in Jesusâ immediate community nor in his world at large was afterlife considered a real possibility.
Early Christianity was novel in that its followers believed that they could become immortal. Â Or, to name it in the Greco-Roman context, the followers of Jesus all became âlittle godsâ. They were immortal, something true only of gods and goddesses. Â This was a very strong statement â people who followed Jesus became like the gods of the world that surrounded them!
Today, many people consider heaven and hell to be contrasting opposites.  At that time, the alternative to joyful eternal live was not hell.  It was âperishing.â That is, if you followed Jesus, you gained eternal life.  If you didnât follow Jesus, you ceased to exist at the end of your life.  Thatâs where this passage ends⊠with the well known John 3:16-17.  ââFor God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.â Â
Thus, the claim is made that those who believe in Jesus will gain eternal life. Â My 7-year old friend Becca believed that there were specific rules to guide what constituted âbelief in Jesus.â Understandings of afterlife have developed since the time of Jesus, nothing stays stagnant! Early Christianity opened the door to eternal life â instead of saying that only âgodsâ could live forever, there was an affirmation of common people and our value. Â
While are are thinking about that, let's look more closely at the beginning of this text.  Nicodemus is named as a Pharisee, a group that gained most of its power after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 BCE, and a group that was open to afterlife in some form or another. (Not the way people today think of it though.)  Nicodemus, as a Pharisee, being in power at the time of Jesus is exactly the kind of historically questionable stuff that reminds us to take John metaphorically..  Anyway, according to John,  this guy comes to Jesus ⊠at night.  Why at night?  So he couldnât be seen!  Its really kind of a funny story, even to start out⊠we have one of the highest ranking officials in Israel sneaking around under the cloak of darkness in order to meet with Jesus. Â
He gets to Jesus and starts the conversation by complimenting him. Unfortunately for Nicodemus, he isnât as smart as he thinks he is. He doesnât âget it.â  He ALMOST âgets it.â  He wants to learn from Jesus, which is why he has come to Jesus.  But he is still afraid of what others will think of him or do to him, and thatâs why he comes at night.  In addition, he bases his faith on âsigns.â That is, he thinks Jesus is connected to God because Jesus is able to perform miracles.  Believing in Jesus because of his miracles is a BIG no-no in the Gospel of John.  The faithful are supposed to believe because they believe, not because of the powers that Jesus has to do miracles.  So Nicodemus says, âTeacher, we know that you come from God because of what you can doâŠâ  And right there, as John tells it, Jesus knows that Nicodemus wasnât convinced to follow him fully, yet. Â
Jesus begins to teach⊠and he says⊠LISTEN CAREFULLY!âŠhe says âNo one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.â And Nicodemus says, âHow can anyone be born again after having grown old?â  Did you hear that?
Jesus says âborn from aboveâ and Nicodemus says âborn again.â  How did he confuse that?  Well, he wasnât that ridiculous actually⊠in Greek the word for âagainâ and âfrom aboveâ is the same word.  Jesus is talking about the deep meaning of being born from above, which is âfrom Godâ1 and Nicodemus is understanding the superficial meaning â born again.  Nicodemus is being presented as foolish, or at least because he didn't have full faith he was too foolish to understand Jesus. The image of a grown man re-entering the womb is meant to be funny. It is meant to be as ridiculous as it sounds, because it is making fun of the misunderstanding.  Being born again is NOT AT ALL what Jesus is talking about.  Being born again is the MISUNDERSTANDING that Nicodemus pulls out.
Being born âfrom aboveâ is having a spiritual birth. Â That could be seen as something that all people have â as all people ahave spirits â or as an eye-opening event that occurs when individuals connect with God. Â It would make some sense, given the rest of Jesus' teaching to think of being born âfrom aboveâ as being connected to God and therefore committed to building the kindom. Â Being born from above is to live as God would have a person live, to share love, to exude compassion, to see a better world. Â To be born from above, then, is to live the prayer, âyour kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.â
This is a Gospel reading with many opportunities for misunderstanding. Â It is one I am tempted to avoid, simply to not have to deal with them. However, being informed about our scriptures and how they has been used to do harm, and what they actually mean is part of what we need to know to bring healing. Â Luckily, this passage has a lot of gems as well as a history of being used badly. Â Verse 8 reads, The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. Â So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. There is a double meaning here â the wind is at once the Wind and the Spirit of God. Â We do not know the beginning of the wind or of God, but we are able to watch what the Spirit of God does in the world. This is one of my favorite descriptors of the Spirit. Â If the Spirit is truly the Spirit of Love (I think that's fair) then it reminds us that the demands of love can take us in rather unexpected directions! Some of the ancients thought of the wind as God's breath.2 I suspect some of us moderns do too, at least in particular moments. It has times when it is a potent metaphor. Â
The passage continues though, in a rather weird turn. Â As another commentator puts it, âThe overlap of crucifixion and exaltation conveyed by v. 14 is crucial to Johannine soteriology because the Fourth Evangelist understands Jesusâs crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension as one continuous event.â3 So, when the metaphor is drawn to âlifting upâ it isn't just about Jesus' death but about the end of his life and the beginning of the life of the believers as the Body of Christ. (If you don't know the Moses reference, I promise, you don't want to. Â It won't help.) Â
Finally, this text turns to one of the more abused verses in the Bible. Â It is actually good news, no matter how it has been used to abuse others in Bible bashing. Â The good news is: Â âGod loves the world SO MUCH that God seeks to heal it in every way God can.â In the words of a wise commentator, âwhat if we are all called to âjoin in the creation of a community in which God's love was regarded as not being in short supply, open only to those who have seen and confessed Jesus as the Christ, but rather as poured out upon the entire world?â4
Taken in continuity with John 3:17, âIndeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him,â while remembering that the first meaning in the Bible of salvation is healing, we get to: Â âGod loves the world SO MUCH that...that God keeps moving creation to wholeness AND Â God pushes and prods us in hope that we'll learn deeper love. Â Nothing can separate us from the love of God... because God loves the world THAT much.â
Do you ever wonder what it means to say that âGod loves the worldâ? It is startlingly unequivocal. Â It isn't, âGod loves the good people.â Â Or, âGod loves it when things are going right.â Â It isn't even, âGod loves the world, but hates the brokenness.â John 3:16 claims God loves the world. Â God gives gifts to the world. God seeks healing and wholeness for the world. Â And the world isn't just humanity, it is all of creation.
God LOVES the world. Â
For me, that's a bit of a relief. Â It reminds me that God's love isn't contingent on us getting it right, love is already a part of it all. It is a reminder that we can't mess it up. Â Love is the starting point of all creation, it has a power nothing else can match. Â For me, at least, gratitude for this reality is what motivates me to work with God for the building of the kindom. Â But it starts with love. God loves the world. Â Unlike my childhood friend, I think there is a full stop there, no conditions.
God loves the world and all the beings in it.  As.  They.  Are. Salvation is a gift God willingly  offers to us all.
Thanks be to God. Â Amen

(THAT GIF. ITâS THE GIF I WAS OBSESSED WITH WHEN I FIRST GOT INTO THE MCU OMG)
ehehehehehe Iâm sure youâll get over it :) (but you wonât, really. I should probably go and make sure you donât have any sharp objects in your possession.)
Donât be upset! *hugs* not until you listen to âWords Failâ, 'I am damagedâ and watch Civil War + Thor 2, at leastâŠ
I read the chapter! One of the things that immediately stood out to me was Shuuâs design, because it really shows how much itâs changed since the first series (he looks so pretty(?) now. Look at those eyes (down for the count and Iâm drowninâ in 'em)).
As for Naki, my boy. The moment I saw him using a freaking PROVERBÂ I think I teared up a little.
But obviously, the one thing he will never learn is Shuuâs name.
And that endingâŠsince itâs the 'kingâ it should be Ken, right? But if it is, thereâs definitely something wrong (I mean just look at the last panel). When did he get back? Whereâs Touka? What has he been doing? I mean, from the spoilers, some fans were guessing that was actually Arima and thatâs possible now with the whole 'bring back the deadâ thing, but I donât think itâs him. For one thing, Arimaâs story had a heartbreaking ending, but it was satisfyingâŠit was a clean, simple conclusion. I feel like it wouldnât be a good idea to mess that up, since it would just makes things that much more complicated. It would also be cruel to Arima because COME ON, he chose his own death because that was the best option for him and he died happy! WHY would you make him do it all over again?!
And weirdly, this chapter is like 'lol Touken? what Touken?â like the last few chapters never happened. Not sure how to feel about that XD
Also Kou is adorable and if Ishida hurts him I donât know what Iâll do.
yeah, I do know that 'Aishiteruâ is such a powerful phrase that even married couples hesitate to use it ^^ I just wanted something to compare it to. Apparently Saikoâs 'I love youâ was the same 'I love youâ she uses with the rest of the Q squadâŠ? Idk if thatâs 100% accurate though.
OTL that freaking sceneâŠ
'Ravenclaw or Slytherinâ ^^ hahahaâŠeheheheheheheâŠthe thing isâŠ
King Evans, bringer of angst, breaker of feels, mighty lord of the tragic OTPs, is 98% Hufflepuff. The other 2% is probably Ravenclaw.
MY HEART. Queen LunaâŠ
Ronald and Evans would have the most casual relationship- in public, if they didnât bother to make it obvious, people would probably think they were just BFFs.
Marco is honestly the best option tbh (he IS freckled jesus after all). Thank you so much for that <3
Vitya is a darling. His PDA would probably embarrass me a lot though haha
You said 'Steve might not be a good choiceâ, dunno if thatâs a typo or not LOL honestly Iâm not sure who Iâd like as an s/o from the MCU⊠I mean, Loki is one of my favorites but I would NOT want to date him under any circumstances (dude tried to commit genocide in Thor 1 by killing every single Frost GiantâŠprobably because of his self-loathing about being one himself). And like I said, though I really relate to Bruce, weâd probably just be like 'Iâm so anxiousâ 'You are? Iâm totally anxious tooâ 'Iâm anxious about you being anxiousâ and so on and so forthâŠ
Wanda (Scarlet Witch) seems like the kind of person Iâd get along well with though, since weâre pretty similar personality-wise but Wanda seems less sensitive than me and a bit more outgoing/willing to take charge. The reason I picked the Captain is because of out of all the avengers we have the most similar beliefs (I can talk like a nihilist at times but at the end of the day Iâm probably Team Cap) and heâs got the nicest personality.
YAS another Joker fan! I thought we were extinct ;-; Luna/Joker sounds cute but Luna/Soma sounds absolutely adorable.
-âI like cute animals,â
-You (sort of) regret those words when Soma gets you a baby elephant for your birthday
-He doesnât get how you can study so many things and concentrate on all of them. Heâs not sure how to feel about it either, because he thinks youâre awesome and calls you a true scholar (heâs just so proud âCiel, YOUR girlfriend may be a fencing prodigy but MY girlfriend is a genius!â âWell-â âWhatâs that? I canât hear you over the sound of how amazing she is!â), but then he doesnât understand how you donât get bored of all those things, and heâs kind of jealous that it takes up so much of your time.
-jealous soma=pouty soma asking Agni and Ciel for love advice
-his nickname for you is 'princessâ
Armin/Luna is one of the new OTPs
-though youâre an introverted couple youâre both willing to speak up for each other when itâs needed
-Armin loves to tell you stories about the world outside the walls and you often look at the picutres in his books together, making up wild and crazy theories about whatâs out there
-Eren approves
-Mikasa gives you The Talk
-'I have two functioning blades and dozens of titans waiting outside. Hurt him and no one will ever find your bodyâ
Phichit/LunaâŠ
-Of course he wants to skate with you. If you already know heâs overjoyed and loves to have friendly competitions/races, and if you donât heâs happy to teach you. Heâs very sweet about it (until you realize heâs been taking pictures of your 'progressâ throughout the entire lesson)
-Phichit FLOODS his instagram with pictures of you and him together 'Look at this goddessâ 'Me and my baeâ 'Georgiâs jealousâ
-In fact he just rambles about you on social media to the point where everyone decides that either heâs lost it or this Luna person is, in fact, a goddess
-Phichit also has a tumblr so he quickly becomes a part of the constant fandom discussions between Luna and Evans
-expect a ton of Hamilpuns
-Evans third wheels like a pro
Oh I Ken totally Hide (sorry)
YES those are also some of my favorites parts! (Thor is very disappointed with his little bro. Though I have to say, itâs a bit like
Thor: âCOME HOME MY DEAREST BROTHER AND END THIS MADNESS I KNOW YOU CAN STILL BE REDEEMEDâ
Loki: âI am a strong, independent frost giant who donât need no Odin. Go home yourself.â
Thor: âOk.
HAMMER TIME.â)
Ah, youâll get to see Lokiâs softer side in Thor 2âŠprepare for the feels. Also, I do recommend you watch Thor 1 sometime. You may already know the plot but Thor 1 is the only movie we actually get see Loki before he turned into a complete and utter mess. He was actually a nice guy before the daddy issuesâŠI was planning not to watch the first movie either but after watching it Iâm glad I did.
Yeah, I donât think you have to watch anything other than the ones youâve listed, since those seem to be the ones most involved with the main, running plot (the Infinity Stones).
Also, idk if youâve heard, but the post-credit scenes matter A LOT in marvel movies so I suggest you try to watch all of those :)
I think Iâll try BHA if I get the time ^^ itâs easier to get into that than Love Live in Korea. Manga is more common than anime over here unless the anime in question is really popular
Donât worry, Iâll have you sobbing over them soon enough :)
And I suppose youâre talking about the Hamilton Believer PV? I look forward to your reaction! :D Mine was to sob and then start screaming the lyrics all over the place
I love pretty much all the Loki gifs. Like, look at them:
Also, that knife gif. When I search âLokiâ in gifs, most of the results are that one. I understand why, though. I mean, dayum,
Oh Iâm sure Iâll get over it once Iâm deep enough into the fandom. And Iâm slowly, but surely getting there :)))
I loved Shuu in the new chap! I was like âoh la la the gourmet has returned, finallyâ. The chapter does raise a lot of questions, though. I mean, whoâs the king? Whatâs happening to the world? Kaneki? Touka? ANYONE?
When Naki started talking my reaction was âslow down, kidâ. Iâm so prout T^T
I donât want it to be Arima. He finally found peace (in death, tho), so let him have heâs peace. He deserves it. Weâll just have to wait a week until we know, I guess. There better be some good explanations in the next chapter!
Well, I guess weâll never know. Unless I somehow find a raw. Then, I guess I could at least see which form she uses. Itâs a mystery, though, and I really want to know what she used.
You what. Hufflepuff? Nah, canât be. Feel murderers donât go into  the house for cinnamon rolls (but, then again, you are a cinnamon roll with an evil side). Ever heard of hybrid houses? Yeah, I think you belong to one of those.Â
Yeah, of all the character youâve chosen, Iâd say Marco is the best for you because heâd always be able to calm you down and make you laugh when youâd need it. Itâd be the most adorable relationship ever and Iâd be that stalker friend whoâd secretly take pictures of the two of you together and would try to get you together before youâd confess.Â
Yeah, that was a typo. I mean to say âSteve would be a good choiceâ.  I think the two of you would make a cute pair. Like, heâs a huge sweetheart and somewhat old fashioned. My new OTP is forming....
Ah, you and Loki might be cute, actually. I mean, once youâd open up and let your sass out, heâd be like âI like this mortalâ. I must admit, though, I think Steve would be just a tiny bit better choice...?
The second I saw Joker, I was like âheâs my new problematic faveâ. And then he died. And I cried. Then I heard the dub and almost threw my phone out of the window because they ruined his voice. I know heâs not the youngest person ever but he sounds like heâs in his 40s or something.Â
THERE GOES MY HEART AGAIN, IT WAS NICE HAVING IT FOR A SHORT WHILE. Goddamit.
Souma is the purest cinnamon roll in the series. I have no idea why some people dislike him so much. Sure, heâs oblivious and a tiny bit annoying at times, but heâs a nice person and does his best. NOt to mention what happened in the recent chapters. He definitely deserves more love :)))
Armin and Luna would have reading dates 90% of the time. Also, random glomping from my side because heâs too adorable. But something I found out recently: heâs also ripped. Like, damn. It might be a consequence of his new... condition, but still.
Evans would never be a third wheel. In fact, Iâm sure Luna would ditch Phichit every once in a while to talk to you hahah Tbh, from YoI, Iâm not sure Iâd actually date anyone, but if I had to, Phichit would be my top choice.Â
I am proud to say that I stayed up until 3:30am, binging on all the Avengers fics I could find and came to the conclusion that Loki is number 1 after all. Thor is nice and all, but I think I would get a tiny bit fed up with his constant obliviousness. Also, Jane. And a lot of the fics described Loki as a huge bookworm, however Iâm not sure if itâs fanon or canon. Either way, I like it hahah Also, imagine the sass battles. Iâm 100% sure everyone would be fed up with us hahah
I am going to get all the feels during Thor 1 and 2, arenât I?
Actually, from the ones that arenât one the list, I only havenât watched the Hulk, but I know what happens.
One of my friends is a huge fan of MCU and constantly yells about the post credit scenes, so iâll definitely remember ^^
Oh, I see! LL has a mobile game, though ;) Your choice!
I almost cried over believer. It really does fit well ^^
