yup. ambiguous ending. a lot of people hate on it but i think its good!!!! keeping up the mystery factor till the very end. was mac a thing???? was childs a thing????? who knows!!1 theres lots of speculation as to what happened. iirc, Childs doenst have any frost breath stuff when he breathes so people have been like SEE! HES A THING! HOWEVER. in 2002 the thing for the ps2 dropped and in it, mac shows up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! childs' dead body is there as well. (died of hypothermia) x_x. normally i wouldnt brirng up a video game that came out 20 years later but.,.... john carpenter himself said it was canon LMAOOOOO so yeah. we do know what happened to mac and childs. :) the game was supposed to get a seconf installment so it ends sorta awkwardlt with mac flying away with the main character of the viddie oh gayme. we dont know what happens to them after. i dont have a ps2 lol but i do have the vidde oh game disc in my the thing items collection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! here is a good video on it incase u wanna kno moar :)
