Wanna support creatives for free?
Hey hey! Trying to reach as many ppl as possible b/c this isn't just for me, it's for all the other creatives who have lost business b/c of the Twitter collapse etc!
Tumblr is great and all, but as for a twitter replacement, we're at the point where we have to push some things to get them where we want 'em
Bluesky! No SERIOUSLY. you can curate your dash SO well, I haven't seen a nazi in probably months?? And when they come in ppl report them and block them and they just languish in silence, it's GREAT. It has nearly all the things, so if you want a better twitter option, it here!
So here's what to do! follow your fav creatives over, make an account, and enjoy a chronological dash with no algorithm! You can get ALL their posts! Join feeds, find new people! Here are more cool tips: https://bsky.app/profile/joabaldwin.com/post/3kz3mxil73c2f No but SERIOUSLY, if you wanna help us out, this how!
Creatives are suffering right now, and honestly, the best step we can start with is funneling over an audience to enjoy our things. There are even cool suggestion collection lists of peeps to follow, my comics one is here! https://go.bsky.app/UoHN1Yq <-- these are great folks who don't have a ton of followers, but are FANTASTIC ^_^ And most ppl made these starter packs! You have so many amazing ppl to choose from!
So if you want to help out suffering creatives right now, for absolutely NO money, totally free, just take a moment to sign up, and then read that list of tips I posted above, you can easily find all your friends and cool ppl. Let's take back our dashes & help out cool folks
please boost this t, or at least poke all your friends to follow over their favs.
And cool favs, if you want a lovely place to post your work, I highly recommend it. The only way it can get bigger is to MAKE it bigger. It's nice to post and KNOW ppl will see it ^_^
It makes me so sad to see folks over there with great work saying they've lost 90% of sales since twitter collapsed and they're not sure what to do b/c the site is mostly creatives sharing great things. but the audience needs to come over too!
please do! sorry for the long post

Send me a â đĽ â for an unpopular opinion.
Bonus points if you include a topic. ( IE. shipping, roleplaying, ect. )
You know, this hellsite would actually beat out Elon if staff just worked on making it actually functional, having a good nsfw system, actually getting rid of the bots/nazis/terfs/maps/alt right shit heads/bigots/racists/zionists/AI bros, ect.
But nope! Let's make this already buggy website an even more buggy twitter clone, add shitty updates no one FUCKING ASKED FOR, treat the sex workers that use this site like absolute shit but DO NOTHING ABOUT THE FUCKING PORN BOTS, ADD AN ALGORITHM NO ONE FUCKING ASKED FOR, SELL OUR USERS INFO TO AN AI COMPANY OUT OF THE BLUE, randomly terminate and shadowban accounts, and constantly shit on our LGBT+ user base! Despite being the "most gay website on the internet."
#cxffeeshxp#To be fair this website is still better then twitter which isn't saying much at this point đ#The bar is low it's so fucking low#Ask to tag#terf mention#nazi mention#Zionist mention

Me: Asks you to educate yourself, providing easy access to videos that, turns out, directly address the issues that make you dislike vivziepop and provide more context than tumblr and twitter hate threads ever do
You responded to that quickly I know you didn't bother watching. Bruh. I told you a lot of the hate around Vivziepop isn't valid and you don't check it out? See if any of your concerns fell under the one video I directly recommended?? The creator had timestamps too.
Going to the video would have told you the one nazi oc was from eight years ago. And it wasn't even hers! The Vivziepop drama playlist goes in depth about the updates concerning the people Vivziepop has worked with. Which SEVERAL people that worked with her came out to defend her and provide their experiences
You'd find out if you had just watched the videos, the proof, that people love to hate on Vivizie for clout and to farm likes and attention. They take screenshots out of context, go on tangents without proof, etc.
And expect you to believe them.
SO I'll do this one more time to address what specifically you said you disliked about Vivzie.
This playlist has all the videos I will talk about and more. So, if you know of any other drama and controversy surrounding Vivziepop you should probably consult that before forming your opinion: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOWIXPh0p7CzgQoUIl7rqd8oz2Ym6V9XY&si=lhDApDPhX5sWyTHA
Again, it can be found by typing into the Youtube search bar, "ayy lmao vivziepop drama"
You'll find their playlist "Vivziepop Drama Playlist" right there or even just going to the youtube channel "Ayy Lmao" and looking through the playlists.
Specifically addressing what makes you dislike Vivziepop:
The one Nazi oc, the only one to exist, is discussed in "Why everyone hates Vivziepop" at 20:07 and in "The Truth Behind Vivziepop" at 5:07 The latter has more information on that and it only takes TWO MINUTES to watch! With screenshots and proof and everything.
If you heard somewhere that there were multiple, did where you heard that have a source? To, y'know, back up the claim? If you can find it that would be lovely otherwise that is just an allegation either someone told you or you are misremembering.
The drama concerning their workplace goes mainly from the beginning of the playlist to "Vivziepop Erin Frost Drama Round 3"
Multiple artists and people that worked with Vivziepop come out in support of Vivziepop and debunk claims made by others in "Helluva boss employees debunk Vivziepop allegations (Vivziepop drama Part 4)"
I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "the way she treats her friends" and since you haven't provided any sort of source I can only guess that you may be thinking about the ugly situation covered in "Vivziepop Spindlehorse Drama Explained"
I can already tell by the amount of people responding to the first ask I sent that you have a platform, at least a larger audience compared to the average user. If you have problems with x y and z thing about Vivziepop, provide links and proof to what concerns you in the future.
If you don't remember or can't find that proof. Watch the videos. That simple. Put it on in the background, educate yourself, before you spread any more misinformation. Please.
Then form your opinion. It's a lot and I know it is a lot but you need to know this before jumping on the bandwagon of canceling someone. Especially if you have a large audience.
Vivziepop drama and hatedom is so exhausting you wouldn't BELIEVE IT. People are constantly spewing hate without providing PROOF. THEY'RE ALLEGATIONS! Even with "proof" most are out of context and bad faith. There is a motive to lie about someone as well known as Vivziepop
I'm not asking you to like her I'm asking you to educate yourself before repeating what you've heard and provide sources to back them up.

Hold on did I get this right from twitter. Are the far-right Spaniards now complaining about police brutality because they wanted to storm the Audiencia Nacional to opose the Catalan amnesty??
Kaixo anon!
They didn't go to the Audiencia Nacional, but to the PSOE headquarters in Madrid.
For context: although the elections were held in July, there still isn't a President of the Spanish Government. PP leader FeijĂło failed to gather votes enough to become President in the Congress, so now PSOE leader Pedro SĂĄnchez is trying. He has already some support, but will only be able to become President just if JPC (a Catalan party that was key in the failed referendum for independence of 2017) votes for him.
So JPC and PSOE are negotiating, and it seems like PSOE has accepted JPC demands: that Catalan politicians that were imprisoned and/or accused of the crime of treason are amnestied; and that the 15 billion euros debt Catalunya has with Spain is canceled.
So around 4,000 Fascists rallied to the headquarters to show their discomfort with these concessions to independentists - in their words, of course!! -, accusing SĂĄnchez of traitor and basically asking for his head. The police has officially stated they identified 200 protesters with "an ultra aesthetic" which in their language means full on proud nazis with visible nazi symbols.
They showed flags straight out the 15th century, like this one of the Habsburg coat of arms:
Or even further back to the 13th century with the silhouette of Cid:
Some of them wore helmets imitating the conquistadors' [eskerrik asko @kinkyviolence !!]
They mocked the Catalans and the police brutality they recieved during the referendum process:
(Police officers from other regions of Spain arrived in Barcelona in cruise boats decorated with Tweety, hence the flag)
And most importantly: they started throwing down the barricades protecting the rally intinerary, throwing glass bottles to the police officers, and tried to storm in the headquarters of the party that has the most chances to be in power in Spain with ropes, sticks, and iron bars, so the police reacted as expected: whomps, rubber balls shots, and tear gas.
Of course since fascists have always had the police on their side, they started freaking out on social media describing it like total war, dictatorial repression, police brutality, unnecessary violence, etc. So, you know, when Basque or Catalan people recieve the same treatement or worse when rallying unarmed it's okay and expectable, but when it happens when they literally want to storm in a building with iron bars and ropes is dictatorial censorship.
Also on a sidenote, leftie people on social media are mocking them under the tag #CayeBorroka. It's a play on words with kale borroka (street fight in Basque) that was infamously popular in the 90s-00s in Hegoalde with subgroups linked or not to ETA that would vandalise or burn down buses, benches, automatic teller machines, etc as a protest against Spain's policies regarding EH or ETA; and the diminutive of official posh name Cayetano, that has become a noun itself to describe someone wealthy and far righter.
And I have mixed feelings regarding this tag. Because kale borroka was considered "low intensity terrorism", and people accused of it was judged under the anti-terrorism law, which could easily mean years in prison for burning down a dumpster; meanwhile these fascists not only won't get arrested, but they're already publicly urging people to go back and do the same tomorrow.
But as usual, there's one treatment for Basques and another one for anyone else, so it's not really something new, just that I don't like the CayeBorroka gag ngl.

Feeling like I'm howling into the void
Permit me a little whinging, I'm going through a burnout phase and I'm grumpy.
Everybody who follows me [who isn't a bot] knows I write stories. Short ones, long ones, weird ones... one that won't leave me TF alone until I finish it and it looks like it's going into FIVE books...
Ahem.
What I don't know is... how good I am. I know there's a small but loyal fanbase, but y'all are quiet. Maybe you share my base personality trait of not wanting to bother people. I don't blame you. Being yelled at for talking is a foundational moment in my childhood [Several foundational moments TBH]. But I digress. Again.
How do I find audience? Specifically, audience that is more vocal about loving what I do. Word of mouth is free. It's the only advertising I can afford.
Not super effective when those mouths stay shut.
And because TIL that Facebook won't show people anything unless (a) the posting person pays for the privilege, or (b) they actively look for it... And because Twitter is now a Nazi Bar... And because TikTok is a hellscape I don't want to touch with a 40' barge pole...
Is there literally anywhere else I can send forth my work to gather readers under my spreading umbrella of words?

Well, Twitter owner Elon Musk is being vile again. That's a frequent enough occurrence that it usually doesn't rise to the level of news, since Musk spends most of his day looking for affirmation in the mentions of far-right sh-tposters and memelords, but Musk remains one of the richest people on the planet and whenever a man willing to blow $44 billion on a website just so that he could rig it up to give himself a louder voice than anyone else, it becomes news when the very rich cultivator of far-right adulation keeps promoting antisemitism, neo-Nazi themes, and attacks on democracy itself.
So yeah, apparently we have to do this again. As per usual it started with Musk putting his two cents in in the replies of another anti-Muslim tweet by notorious far-right conspiracy promoter and fascism-booster Amy Mek, becauseâagainâMusk appears to crave the attention of every fascist and protofascist on the internet. Mak promoted a video allegedly from an imam vowing France will "become an Islamic country through Jihad," upon which some other ultracreep piped up with "Thanks to the white female vote," which caused allegedly richest person in the world to himself reply that "The childless have little stake in the future."
That's already about five kinds of creepy and weird but we'll set that aside for the moment, because it's yet anotherof Musk's blue check weirdos who set the ball rolling toward its natural Worst Possible Take.
"Democracy is probably unworkable long term without limiting suffrage to parents. Helps solve the procreation problem, too," mused blue-check user "fentasyl".
"Yup,"Â replied Elon.
All right, so here's where we're at. Musk is poking around in the replies of one of the most notorious anti-Muslim boosters of neo-Nazis and white supremacists, as he so often does, sees Some Dude opine that "the white female vote" are the reason that France will supposedly fall to jihad, elaborates with his own belief that "the childless have little stake in the future" and are the real problem hereâbecause the imaginary white females are apparently childless, too?âand by the end is agreeing that democracy itself is "probably unworkable" unless we bar non-parents from voting at all. Just another normal day.
Incidentally, while all of this was going on, Twitter itself was going belly up, with engineers having to hastily put together a new Elon scheme to put new caps on how many tweets you're allowed to read, possibly because Musk's previous decision to not pay his damn bills was now reaching the "find out" end stage.
You can understand, then, why the man would need to relax by yet again questioning the usefulness of democracy. It's that or do his damn day job, and he's terrible at his day job.
The reason all of this matters is that Musk is again diving into some very, very sketchy stuff. Musk is perhaps one of the most famous figures in the small and bizarre "natalist" movement, people who believe that society will collapse if human population growth isn't maintained. If you think that sounds suspiciously close to the neo-Nazi belief that it's "white" humanity that is in danger of dwindling, or to the arguments of eugenicists in general, you're right: The movement is almost entirely white and is clogged with just those sorts of people.
"It would be so easy to dismiss this as yet another unhinged comment, except for the deep intersections between natalism and fascism. These ideas are dangerous, and when we start to see them spread casually by people in power, we shouldn't stand idly by," tweets Dr. Jacquelyn Gill, and that is the problem. Musk's $44 billion purchase of Twitter, a struggling company not likely to be worth half of that, was initially portrayed by Musk as some sort of grand plan to improve society. On taking over, it became evident that Musk's "improvements" consisted of rigging the algorithm to give himself virtual site omnipresence, while using that to boost pandemic conspiracy theories, delegitimize government, and repeatedly call into question whether democracy itself was sustainable.
Musk keeps wallowing through far-right hate accounts and coming up with his own theories of how the world should work. His inability to not share those pearls of wisdom with the rest of us has, however, fully laid to rest any notion that Musk's "genius" consists of anything but relentless narcissism. Most of the billionaire's critiques for society fall somewhere between bizarre and malevolent.
What does it mean, that the "childless have little stake in the future?" That's just crank talk. So children themselves have no stake in the future, until they've either impregnated someone or been impregnated? How does adoption play into this? Do you have a stake in the future if you adopt a child, or is it only the genetic parents who have this stake? When limiting "democracy" to bar everyone but parents from electingÂ
the United States government, would voting certificates be transferred along with the child during an adoption?
What if a child dies? Would the parent, again childless, be again barred from voting? How in the artisanal ketamine-tinted hell would any of this work, and do the people making crank suggestions like this even listen to themselves, or is it all pumped out for shock value, unmolested by such trivialities as common sense?
The notion that "white females" in particular are valueless to democracy until and unless they give birth is some deeply creepy Aryan shit, but Musk keeps diving right in to support it, over and over. The man has a fetish for fascism, and he's certainly not shy about showing it off.

Why is it donating to the military dumb? Could you explain please? (cause if you just insult people they will donate anyway, but if you explain why itâs bad they may stop).
Part of me thinks that if you're even asking this question then maybe my blog isn't for you. Like, I don't really believe in nation states, let alone armies.
I want you to imagine that the entire Russian army had just refused to walk into Ukraine. Refused to start shelling Ukrainian targets. Refused to drive in their tanks... you get the idea, I think. Now imagine that even if "Russia" existed as a concept, it didn't have an army...
I'm not saying the Ukrainian people shouldn't defend themselves, but standing armies are something I find morally wrong. There are reports the Ukrainian army is already firing into Russia, yes, at military targets. At some point, your donation could contribute to the killing of a Russian civilian.
And Ukraine is barring male citizens from the ages of 18-60 from leaving the country, and is probably going to introduce mandatory military service (source: https://junkee.com/ukraine-conscription-russia/322676). I'm not actually against arming people who want to be armed (for the most part) but I am obviously against conscription and forcing people to stay in a war zone when they don't want to. This guy has accounts of seeing Ukrainian men trying to leave the country being taken away from their families to fight (https://twitter.com/UkraineLive2022)- Obviously I can't verify, but he seems legit.
Like I say, I think this is deeply, morally, wrong and if you are donating to the Ukrainian army, you're endorsing that.
But beyond that, I think asking ordinary people to donate to an army with a budget of $4.9 billion dollars last year, is pretty fucked (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armed_Forces_of_Ukraine). The Ukrainian Army is receiving hundreds of millions of dollars of support from international governments, who would be quite happy to tie Russia up in Ukraine for years, if they could (and never mind the cost to human lives). So what's the purpose of soliciting donations from ordinary people? It's a propaganda move. It's a way of getting you invested in the Ukrainian cause. A way of making you see them as "the little guy"- look, we're so poor we need to crowd fund our army...
We are also talking about a country here with a history of violence against Roma people. (sources: https://www.aljazeera.com/features/2018/11/23/attacked-and-abandoned-ukraines-forgotten-roma, http://www.errc.org/news/anti-roma-pogroms-in-ukraine-on-c14-and-tolerating-terror). This isn't as simple as "good guy vs bad guy". There are neo nazi paramilitary groups in Ukraine. I've heard rumours on twitter that Klitschko (yes, that Klitschko, he's now mayor of Kyiv) is giving arms to C14 to "patrol Kyiv"- to be clear, these are just twitter rumours, and he may not know who he is arming BUTTTT the point is your donation could be going to arm literal Neo Nazis. And if that doesn't make you deeply uncomfortable, I don't know what will.
FWIW, most Roma people can't leave the country, because they don't have passports (I know some countries, Slovakia/Poland are possibly taking undocumented migrants, but I don't know if they'd accept Roma refugees and arguably they aren't safe countries for Roma either). But they could still be conscripted into the army.
I know this post will get people accusing me of "both sidesing" the conflict, or whatever, so standard caveat- Putin should not have invaded Ukraine, and I'm not anti the Ukrainian people defending themselves.
As always, if you feel the need to donate, I suggest donating to groups that support the most marginalised, and/or refugees. Definitely don't donate to any organisations you don't know and trust, and be aware that there are people on Tumblr reblogging donation links for actual Neo Nazi groups, such as Azov Battalion.
And honestly, if you'd spent 5 minutes scrolling through my blog, you could have probably figured this out for yourself. I do genuinely think that if you can't work out why people might be uncomfortable donating to a standing army of an extant state with a functional economy, this may not be the blog for you.

I've been trying to dive deeper into politics, discover the genuine roots of our society, the origins of our beliefs, and the consequences of our economic system. It's a big, long, wide journey and through multiple sources such as articles, images, videos and multiple social media platforms, I've been trying to educate myself more on important subjects.
Communism, capitalism, libertarian, conservative, the left, the right, the history, the impact. It is scary to commit to everything because once you start, you simply cannot stop, once you start waking up your conscience about the horrible reality, the lies, the truths, you cannot put it back to sleep. You can't just ignore prejudice, especially when you're extremely conscious of it's omnipresence. I have continually tried to build my own opinions all while actively creating bullet point arguments in my mind because I just know that at some point I will have to defend my thinking, and I want to do it right.
Now, I am so far from being enlightened, I am a beginner and an amateur in all of those themes, but I am trying, which is the only way to start and grow.
So to tell you about my beliefs, I am a militant human rights activist, I believe in equal opportunities regardless of gender identity, sex, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race and disability. This is a fact, not a belief, but the system was obviously not built to protect all people, its wasn't created to serve everyone equally but to grant a privilege to some and harm others. The current state of the world is not a slip, an accident or a misfunction of our brilliant system but a testament of it operating remarkably well. I believe that equity leads to equality, and I believe that we cannot "fix" methodologies that were immorally created with absolutely no honor whatsoever. I believe in reproductive rights, in legal, safe abortions for anybody who needs one. I believe in the decriminalization of marijuana. I believe that the death penalty is a despicable punition that should be banned as soon as possible. I believe in defunding the police and the military. I believe that it is a shame that I even have to talk about police brutality, I don't want to have to say that it is one of the most horrible things our world has originated, I feel extremely dense when I do because it seems like the most obvious certitude and I refuse to believe that this is a controversial statement. I believe that everything I have just stated, along with many more, isn't anything grand but the bare minimum, the bar is low, and yet, we still have the fight for basic human decency.
Humanity has become an option. We have normalized supporting people that represent everything wrong in this world under the name of tolerance. The left has never claimed to be tolerant towards hateful beings, We have never accepted homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism and sexism. We cannot, for exemple, accept nazis, as too much tolerance inevitably leads to intolerance. This picture explains it perfectly:
I consider myself a communist/ socialist. The two terms still confuse me a little, some say they are the same, some say they differ quite a bit. What I know is that socialism is the transitional period between capitalism and communism. At the end of the day, the final result and goal is a stateless, moneyless and clasless society that will provide to each his need.
Our capitalistic society has brainwashed us way more than you may think. It is the root of so many of our issues, the underground demon of our problems. Every idea, thought, belief, and misconception of ours were all affected by our current economic system. It has sold us the billionnaire dream which is one of the most toxic things capitalism has offered. We have looked up to billionaires for way too long, why are they so idolized? Most of them come from high upper class families that can easily afford to invest in their inventions and creations. After starting up their companies and occasionnaly stealing other's people ideas to ultimately get undeserved merit, they then can start to properly exploit their hardworking employees's labour. And for unlimited hours and a minimum wage which probably won't even suffice you to survive, you will have to either pick up more shifts or a second or even third job, especially if you have a family to support. All while the CEO barely does any of the work and gets all the praise and money. So no, they don't all come from really poor families and have built everything for nothing.
The worst thing is that we've been so gaslit and brainwashed that we're proud of our own exploitation, we are wired to think that to be successful we have to suffer, work 10 jobs we all hate, constantly pick up extra hours, have 2 hours of sleep, have no free time to do anything we love, waste our entire youth, be depressed our entire adulthood, to finally have a few pennies to spend when we're eighty. We so strongly believe that this is the only right way to be successful that I don't think many of us have dared to question it's authority, and even if we do, we quickly accept that this a truth, a fact we cannot change and this is just the way things are.
We have capitalized water, food, land, forests, oceans, space, and everything in betweeen. Money is social construct and we have deliberately let it take over our lives. To think about the wasted opportunities and the misery that we have to endure so others can enjoy life truly angers me.
Also, communism is not an ideology that has every actually taken place. Despite what they say, there was never actually a communist country. However, every nation that has attempted a socialist system, for exemple Burkina Faso, has thrived. But of course, once capitalist countries noticed that, they decided to murder it's leader. So in conclusion, the only reason socialism failed is because of capitalism and it's interventions.
"As President (1983-1987), Sankara initiated economic reforms that shifted his country away from dependence on foreign aid and reduced the privileges of government officials; he cut salaries, including his own, decreed that there would be no more flying in first class or driving Mercedes as standard issue vehicles for Ministers and other government workers. He led a modest lifestyle and did not personally amass material wealth. President Sankara encouraged self-sufficiency, including the use of local resources to build clinics, schools and other needed infrastructure. [...] President Sankara promoted land reform, childhood vaccination, tree planting, communal school building, and nation-wide literacy campaigns. He was committed to gender equity and womenâs rights and was the first African leader to publicly recognize the AIDS pandemic as a threat to African countries. Although Sankara became somewhat more authoritarian during his Presidency, his ideas, and the possibility that they could spread, were viewed by many as posing the greatest threat. President Sankara was assassinated during a coup led by a French-backed politician, Blaise CompaorĂŠ, in October 1987. CompaorĂŠ served as the President of Burkina Faso from October 1987 through October 2014, when he himself was overthrown."
Via:https://africandevelopmentsuccesses.wordpress.com/2015/02/28/success-story-from-burkina-faso-thomas-sankaras-legacy/
I have been reading and watching some amazing human rights activists, notably Angela Davis, Malcolm X and James Baldwin. The people that were villainized, labeled as violent and radical, when every single word that came out of their mouhs were pure facts. They are probably some of the most eloquent people I have had the pleasure of hearing. Every sentence, every argument, every single detail made so much sense and opened my mind to so many new realizations. This is the perfect exemple of how the media tarnishes the reputation of wise black women and men. I would strongly advise you to research more about them.
"Socialism & communism are demonized in the west to the point of erasing influential individuals' socialist advocacy. Heres a short list of people you may not have known were socialists/ communists:
MLK
Albert Einstein
Nelson Mandela
Frida Kahlo
Tupac Shakur
Mark Twain
Malcom X
Oscar Wilde
Bertrand Russell
Hellen Keller
Pablo Picasso
George Orwell
Shia LaBeouf
John Lennon
Woody Guthrie
Socialism & communism are not dirty words. Some of the most brilliant minds of our history were socialists and communists. Embrace it." Via @sleepisocialist on twitter
So what else can I say, capitalism has ruined our society and the way we act and think. I know a lot of people refuse to support communism because they think it's too much of a perfect ideal utopian world for it to ever actually exist. And to that I say, first of all, so you agree, it is a wonderful theory, and second of all, a world without racism, sexism, homophobia or any kind or discrimination could also be perceived as "too ideal to actually exist", but does that mean I'm giving up on talking, educating myself and others, protesting and trying to build a better future? Absolutely not. This is the objective, it would be so dumb to think that we just couldn't achieve that so let's not even try.
I want to talk more in detail about communism, theory, human rights, etc... but I don't want to make this post any longer. I will however be posting more about it soon enough.
I know this is a little different than what I usually post, but I want to speak, tell you all my own opinions, I don't want to just repost activism related stuff. I'll continue to do that, but not exclusively. I know it won't get as many interactions as my other posts, but this is what I needed at some point in my life, and if I could make understanding some basic informations easier to some people, it'll already be a great accomplishment.
Thank you for reading.

the reason people prefer bernie over warren isn't that she used to be a republican, most people genuinely believe the positions she holds now. it's just that those positions A) aren't going to get her elected in a general election, because she comes across as wishywashy on medicare for all, which is much more popular among most americans than centrists think, and republican are GREAT at exploiting the wishy-washy B) isn't gonna cut it with us lefty dems either. bernie polls better against trump.
Hello there! Thank you for your contribution! *
As most people who follow me know, I am not a Political Discourse ⢠blog in the usual course of things, and despise Discourse in general. Time is short, lives are precious, and usually arguing with people about politics on the internet is about the most unproductive use of such ever devised. But because you did arrive in my inbox with this opinion, which perfectly exemplifies the dangerous thinking that I was referring to in this post, which I presume is the reason for the pleasure of your company, weâre going to have a chat. Iâm going to keep the snark to a minimum, because I am really not a fan of stoking Democratic tribalism or âmy candidate is better than your candidate and I canât vote for anyone elseâ pissing contests. That being indeed precisely what I was arguing in the above post, and the point of which, alas, you seem to have grasped but dimly. I am therefore going to go through this, because it needs to be deconstructed, and while I may make no impact on you, because I suspect your mind is made up, I am fortunate enough to have a decent following on this blog and maybe someone else will benefit from it. Who knows. The other option is Trump.
So.
Letâs take this one at a time. See for example your first claim, âElizabeth Warren comes across as wishy-washy on Medicare for All.â
WellâŚ.
Have you tried going to her website (elizabethwarren.com) typing in âMedicare for Allâ and being redirected to the following document? It took me approximately eight seconds to find. It is also not just an attention-grabbing header. The full strategic plan below, when pasted into Microsoft Word, runs to an impressive goddamn 19 pages and almost 8,000 words. It outlines exactly what she will do to achieve this and concludes:
Medicare for All is the best way to guarantee health care to all Americans at the lowest cost. I have a plan to pay for it without raising taxes on middle class families, and the transition Iâve outlined here will get us there within my first term as president. Together, along with additional reforms like my plans to reduce black maternal mortality rates, ensure rural health care, protect reproductive rights, support the Indian Health Service, take care of our veterans, and secure LGBTQ+ equality, we will ensure that no family will ever go broke again from a medical diagnosis â and that every American gets the excellent health care they deserve.
Hmm. Focusing specifically on African-American maternal mortality rates, rural health care, protecting reproductive rights, support for Native Americans, vets, and LGBTQ people? I understand, however, that this canât cut it with âus lefty Dems,â which you proclaim with the proud assurance that you and the Twitter circles of your acquaintance are in fact the only ones. Iâm also⌠not entirely sure which candidate youâre confusing Warren with, since there are two (2) progressive candidates in this nightmare of white no-name and/or billionaire milquetoast male moderates. Their names are Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. And every single Warren fan I know is willing to vote for Sanders if he gets the nomination, including me. I made a public pledge to vote for the Democratic candidate even if itâs Goddamn Joe Biden. You can see it here. If you are going to demand miles of receipts for Warren before you consider voting for her (and when her positions are similar to or in several cases, particularly for women, MUCH BETTER than Sanders, yes I said it), then youâre really not going to like what it looks like for the other candidates in this race. Also, are you asking these questions for Sanders, your own preferred nominee?
Next, youâŚ. you do realize the privilege that is dripping off this ask, right? The exact thing of which I also addressed in the previous discussion:
The modern American Republican party has become a vehicle for no-holds-barred power for rich white men at the expense of absolutely everything and everyone else, and if your rationale is that you canât vote for the person opposing Donald Goddamn Trump is that youâre just not vibing with them on the language of that one policy proposal⌠well, Iâm glad that you, White Middle Class Liberal, feel relatively safe that the consequences of that decision wonât affect you personally.
That isâŚ. at least as presented in this ask, exactly whatâs happening here. Youâre saying that you (and this mythic America/Lefty Dems ⢠of which you grandly extrapolate) canât vote for Elizabeth Warren because youâre just not vibing with her on the language of a policy proposal which she enthusiastically supports and has written a detailed 20-page manifesto on how to achieve? You really, really believe, deep down in your Bernie Bro Internet Politics bones, that you cannot vote for the smart, fearless, extra-qualified Democratic woman opposing the bankrupt reality star rapist who is literally a Neo-Nazi white supremacist whose administration is wrecking the planet and putting children in cages at the border? To name just one of the Scandal-A-Days that this nightmare administration churns out? Because the Lefty Dems (and please do not lump me and the other active leftist Democrats I know into whatever youâve got going on here) just wonât stand for that?
Do you even hear yourself?
Did we learn nothing at all from 2016???
Iâm going to guess that Iâm older than you. Iâm not sure whether that matters, but thereâs that. It means I remember 9/11, the Bush years, the financial crash of 2008, and how this already went once before. I have also just moved back to the United States after almost half a decade in the United Kingdom, which is currently experiencing its same slow-motion disintegration into hard-right economic isolationism, xenophobia, and late-stage capitalist oligarchy. Iâm also a professional historian. So it means that I, for better or worse, have a certain perspective on this, the overall patterns, the way the world has stumbled into this destructive consumerist capitalist 21st century, and what itâs doing to us.
We do not have much time left to fix any of this. I donât care if it sounds alarmist, itâs true. If you are younger than me, this is also going to become disproportionately your generationâs problem. Rigid intellectual purity tests are exactly the thing that is preventing the left from mobilizing behind one candidate to get Donald Fucking Trump and his cabal of shameless criminals out of there before they kill the lot of us. And Iâm not going to back down from saying that mindsets like the one perfectly exemplified in your ask are far more helpful to the Republicans than they are to any of us.
I have said it before, Iâll say it again: I will vote for, donate money to, and raise awareness about whoever the Democratic nominee is. If itâs Sanders, Iâm going to frigginâ become a Bernie or Buster. Because at that point, his opponent would be Trump!!! If I am living in a state where it would remotely make a difference in November 2020, since at the moment Iâm in Bumfuck Red State Nowhere, I would consider canvassing or volunteering for the campaign, and I am a severe introvert with social anxiety who hates talking to people when I donât have to. And if I am willing to do this, and you and Lefty Dems ⢠of your hallowed intellectual proclivities are sitting on your backsides and bitching about how Warren seems wishy-washy on Medicare for All, well then. One of us is more the problem than the other one, and it isnât me.
(Also. once again, Bernie Sanders is eighty years old and just had a heart attack. Sorry. That remains an issue for me. Thereâs a year to go of grueling non-stop campaigning before the general, if he wins the primary. Iâm not convinced.)
In conclusion, I have recently adopted a policy of donating a few dollars to Elizabeth Warren every time someone appears in my inbox or notifications with a comment like this. So when I thanked you for your contribution at the start of this post, I was in fact thanking you for your extra-generous donation today, December 10, 2019, to Elizabeth Warren for President:
Peace.
