Classy Interior Designs With Slick Dark Accent Pieces

A sense of calm washes through these three classy cream interiors with basey undertones of black, grey and brown. Each interior gains texture from multiple types of rich wood tone, veined marble and layered textiles. Indoor plants freshen the neutral decor, considerately placed around pieces of high end furniture. Modern lighting schemes are at play, with contemporary pendant light designs, recessed ceiling strips, and concealed LEDs around the perimeter of wall and ceiling panels. Understated elegance exudes from unusual feature walls, slatted room dividers and modern art for the home in controlled classy combinations. Take the tours, soak up the sophistication, and be inspired to shape your own modern soothing home design.

Designer: Metra Studio   Visualizer: Metra Studio   Tour number one takes us around a 133 square metre home located in Kiev, Ukraine. We enter the main living room via the kitchen on the left, and are met by a large L-shaped modern sofa by the window. Black scatter cushions bring deeper notes to the light grey couch upholstery, and match with a black marble coffee table in front.

A feature wall streaks the end of the room with neutral shades, like a ripple of desert sand dunes. Tropical plants create an oasis. In the adjacent dining room, a circular pendant light reflects the round dining tabletop beneath. A teak lazy susan adds another layer to the visual of stacked circles. Brown dining chairs match the deep tone of the centrepiece.

Wood planks cross the floor of the lounge and dining area but are replaced by light tile at the entryway and in the kitchen.

A wall of black storage darkens the wall by the entry door, struck through with a chrome stripe. A huge round mirror reflects a low hanging pendant light. Two brown poufs provide places to sit whilst kicking off outdoor shoes.

The mirror has a black marble shelf attached as a place to set down keys and phones.

A dark one wall kitchen with island has a deep stained wood ceiling volume to complete and exaggerate the shadowy ensemble.

In contrast to the dark kitchen units, a light wood dining table is amalgamated into the island.

An understated linear suspension lamp illuminates the tabletop.

The master bedroom is a soothing space, which has an open plan ensuite attached and a small lounge area with two comfortable bedroom chairs. Mature indoor plants feather the corner of the room, standing at different heights to follow the outline of the bed and headboard.

A sprawling bedroom pendant light spreads across the ceiling.

LED strips create a glow around the edge of the headboard.

A taupe accent wall frames monochrome art.

The glass wall bathroom is divided into two volumes, with the bathtub in one and everything else in the other.

An art mural fills the back wall of the bathroom.

Visualizer: INSED School   Tour number two begins in a smart living room, where different shades of brown and wood tone layer up.

Wenge veneer nesting coffee tables sit atop a taupe area rug. A matching freestanding media cabinet underlines a wall mounted tv.

A freestanding bookcase occupies the adjacent wall.

The opposite side of the room is the site of a minimalist workspace, with a unique home office desk.

Behind the sofa, a partition wall is clad in oak wood veneer.

A wenge cabinet provides a contrasting feature.

Framed art and a bust statue decorate the cabinet top.

Behind the dividing wall, a sputnik chandelier hangs over a platform bed.

A small bedside table holds a glass vase off fresh flowers and some books.

Greenery flourishes by the window.

A chic dressing table stands against the opposite wall.

The vanity table is teamed with a neat cuboid pouf.

A symmetrical scene has been created in the hallway with a duo of modern wall sconces.

An L-shaped sofa wraps around a modern coffee table in the lounge area. Brown throw cushions scatter the back of the couch.

An ottoman sits on the other side of the lounge, which can be used as either seating or an extra table with the addition of a tray.

The side and back of the sofa incorporates a shelving design in which to store a few books or a small selection of treasured items.

The real bookcase climbs the wall opposite the sofa, custom built around a modern fireplace.

Wood flooring stops as the lounge changes into the kitchen. Black tiles floor the culinary space, beneath a dark grey kitchen.

The central kitchen island is composed of white gloss cabinets that complement the white marble backsplash. A black dining table runs directly off the kitchen island, teamed with six olive swivel chairs. A huge pot of indoor plants accessorise the room.

In the master, a pair of gold bedroom pendant lights dangle in front of a copper accent wall.

A bedroom chair sits in front of slatted doors that section off the ensuite bathroom.

The sliding slatted door panels allow natural light from the bedroom window to pass through into the bathroom.

The copper headboard wall wraps around two sides.

Beyond the slatted doors, the ensuite master bathroom is a light and upscale design of white tile, black marble accents and designer bathroom furniture.

A sleek double sink bathroom vanity with an illuminated vanity mirror set faces the bedroom.

    Hello my wonderful friends! How are you today? It’s great to be back with this new “Beautiful Homes of Instagram” post especially because I am featuring such a talented and kind woman! Marcie, from @designsixtyfive, is a busy mom of two little boys, and, together with her husband, she managed to renovate and decorate this gorgeous Connecticut beach house.

  “When we began planning for our home renovation, Home Bunch was one of my go-to sources for inspiration, so to be sharing our own home on this platform now is such an honor! We fell in love with the location of this home, which is within walking distance of downtown as well as the beach, so we decided to renovate in order to make this home work for our family in the long term.”

Expanding your Dreams

“As part of the renovation, we essentially gutted the existing house, demolished an old detached garage and 3-season sunroom, and added on an attached garage, mudroom, kitchen, master suite and junior suite. While it might have been easier to demolish the entire house and start from scratch, we loved the original house and wanted to stay true to its history, charm and character. We replaced the windows, siding and roof and added architectural details to create interest and dimension while honoring the style of the original house. The newly renovated house is approximately 2,400 square feet and has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.”

“On the interior, we opened up walls and added windows wherever possible to create an open floorpan that is flooded with natural light. Given the home’s location, we wanted to achieve a subtle coastal aesthetic that is classic, yet fresh and organic. The decor is simple with timeless elements of natural wood and textures, plenty of white, live greenery, and hints of blue.”

  Hello my wonderful friends! How are you today? It’s great to be back with this new “Beautiful Homes of Instagram” post especially because I am featuring such a talented and kind woman! Marcie, from @designsixtyfive, is a busy mom of two little boys, and, together with her husband, she managed to renovate and decorate this gorgeous Connecticut beach house.

I can’s stress enough for you to follow her on Instagram because she’s one of those rare people you meet and instantly feel connected to. Here, Marcie shares more details about her home:

  “When we began planning for our home renovation, Home Bunch was one of my go-to sources for inspiration, so to be sharing our own home on this platform now is such an honor! I first started Design Sixty Five as a way to document our renovation for posterity, not thinking anyone would actually be interested in following along with the progress. A year later, I am truly amazed at how it taken on a life of its own and has become such a fulfilling creative outlet. It brings me so much joy to exchange ideas and inspiration with others and I couldn’t be happier to share our renovation experience here with you!”

“We bought this 1920’s colonial in 2012 (before having children) when it was only 1,300 square feet with 3 small bedrooms and 1 bathroom. After growing our family to include 2 kids and 2 dogs, we felt it was time for us to either expand or move. We fell in love with the location of this home, which is within walking distance of downtown as well as the beach, so we decided to renovate in order to make this home work for our family in the long term.”

Expanding your Dreams

“As part of the renovation, we essentially gutted the existing house, demolished an old detached garage and 3-season sunroom, and added on an attached garage, mudroom, kitchen, master suite and junior suite. While it might have been easier to demolish the entire house and start from scratch, we loved the original house and wanted to stay true to its history, charm and character. We replaced the windows, siding and roof and added architectural details to create interest and dimension while honoring the style of the original house. The newly renovated house is approximately 2,400 square feet and has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.”

“When winter rolls around, this becomes the hardest working little corner of our house! A few years ago, we added a small powder room to this corner, which allowed us to create a “mini-mudroom” on this wall using board & batten and some simple wall hooks.”

“On the interior, we opened up walls and added windows wherever possible to create an open floorpan that is flooded with natural light. Given the home’s location, we wanted to achieve a subtle coastal aesthetic that is classic, yet fresh and organic. The decor is simple with timeless elements of natural wood and textures, plenty of white, live greenery, and hints of blue.”

Stunning Modern Home Designs Under 70 Sqm

Four small apartments, each measuring under 70 square metres. Beautiful design features and clever furniture placement round out these layouts in a way that makes them look well beyond meagre proportions. A brave accent palette of pumpkin orange helps define different areas in apartment number one, whilst 3D gypsum panels build pronounced texture. An elegant composition of warm metallics, amidst pale grey features, fashion an airy and refined aesthetic in small apartment number two. Third, a dark grey modern pad has a wide open bedroom layout into the living room, which makes no apologies for its dominant presence. Last up, a loft with lots of wood finishes. Open space and free flow rules in all four, without any notion of limitation.

Designer: Ira Lysiuk   Visualizer: Ira Lysiuk   The first 70 square metre apartment we visit belongs to a stylish young couple and their dog. A grey modern sofa wraps two sides of the lounge area, with a round coffee table that reminds us of the round coffee table reminds us of the Arc coffee table.

The jumping off point for this unique interior was a rich pumpkin accent color, which sings out against graphite walls.

Gypsum wall panels play with light and shade around the TV.

A pumpkin coloured accent chair cosies up next to a modern fireplace, which is set upon the end of a long low-level media cabinet.

Pumpkin panels spice up the dining area, where a round dining table and chairs set stand bold in black. A Brokis pendant lamp completes the composition.

Orange bar stools pull up to a coffee bar that floats across the window.

Pink kitchen cabinets contrast with dark grey counterparts.

Coffee terrazzo flooring stretches from the home entryway to the kitchen. Warm wood tongue and groove takes over the lounge.

Pumpkin accents are even considered inside a hallway storage unit.

The accent colour becomes a main player in the bedroom, colouring an upholstered platform bed.

A decorative wall mirror steals the spotlight at the bedside.

The circular theme set by the bedside mirror is echoed in the shape of a unique desk.

A black pouf pulls up to the orange desk cabinet.

A laundry area is incorporated into the walk in wardrobe, to ensure the clothing collection is kept tip-top and stocked.

Pumpkin ceramic tiles colour the splash zone around the shower and an elliptical vanity mirror.

Matt black fixtures and a black shower screen stand out against the textured orange ceramic.

Pale grey versions of the textured tile clad the opposite wall.

Terrazzo takes care of the floor treatment and sides the bathtub.

A wall mounted toilet helps the small bathroom look more spacious.

Designer: Chill Visualization Studio   Visualizer: Chill Visualization Studio   Located in Ha Noi, our next home measures just 65 square metres. The client desired a luxurious space, and the solution came in white and metallic elegance.

A copper ottoman stretches out an opulent quilted seat next to a pale modern sofa in the living room. An Eames bird and a glass vase adorn a luxe marble coffee table. A copper sputnik chandelier shines overhead.

Floor to ceiling mirrors have been installed to increase the sense of space–even in the smallest of slivers.

An elegant dining set looks twice its length in the mirror reflection.

The dining room table is glossy white marble, linking it with the lounge coffee table.

Golden legs make a high-end design feature of grey dining chairs. Wine storage units decorate the walls, building an atmosphere of fine dining.

Gold bars stretch from ceiling to floor to build separation between the kitchen and lounge, and to provide a wider mounting area for the TV. Light grey kitchen cabinets span the wall behind them, softly lit along the backsplash.

In the bedroom there is a softer, earthier palette, where pale wood grain takes over from metallics.

A drop chair pulls up to a custom built home workspace in the corner, which cuts across a window with an exceptional city view.

Visualizer: Dmitry Moshkov   The third in the tour takes us around a 62 square metre loft apartment in a historic building, located in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation. A tangle of black AIM pendant lights drop over a sophisticated black and blue lounge that’s furnished only with a modern sofa and a stylish square coffee table.

To the side of the lounge arrangement there is a small kitchen with a dining bar. A two ring hob and sink take up much of the countertop. However, changes in materials make the space look more than its proportions, with wood tongue and groove building a special backsplash, and raw concrete marking out the dining spot. Glass pendant lights drop in a trio along the length of the bar – one for each place setting.

A barn door slides to reveal a utility area off the hallway. This is also the main closet, with garment rails running on the opposite side to the washer and dryer. A smaller closet stores coats by the entry door.

Standing completely open plan to the lounge, a dark grey bedroom design is accessorised with a classical art inspired print, and overlooked by ceiling-height stacks of books.

The bookcases are fashioned around a small home workspace, with just about enough desk room to squeeze in a laptop, external harddrive, and a phone cradle.

To the right of the small kitchen we find the bathroom, accessed via another streamlined barn door design.

A beautiful modern freestanding bathtub is elevated upon a podium inside the bathroom. Twin vessel basins perch on a black wall mounted vanity unit.

A wall hung toilet keeps the floor area looking spacious on the opposite side of the bathroom. Grey brick tiles build a stylish interior to the shower enclosure.

We enter the main living room via the kitchen on the left, and are met by a large L-shaped modern sofa by the window. Black scatter cushions bring deeper notes to the light grey couch upholstery, and match with a black marble coffee table in front.

A feature wall streaks the end of the room with neutral shades, like a ripple of desert sand dunes. Tropical plants create an oasis. In the adjacent dining room, a circular pendant light reflects the round dining tabletop beneath. A teak lazy susan adds another layer to the visual of stacked circles. Brown dining chairs match the deep tone of the centrepiece.

Wood planks cross the floor of the lounge and dining area but are replaced by light tile at the entryway and in the kitchen.

A wall of black storage darkens the wall by the entry door, struck through with a chrome stripe. A huge round mirror reflects a low hanging pendant light. Two brown poufs provide places to sit whilst kicking off outdoor shoes.

The mirror has a black marble shelf attached as a place to set down keys and phones.

A dark one wall kitchen with island has a deep stained wood ceiling volume to complete and exaggerate the shadowy ensemble.

In contrast to the dark kitchen units, a light wood dining table is amalgamated into the island.

An understated linear suspension lamp illuminates the tabletop.

The master bedroom is a soothing space, which has an open plan ensuite attached and a small lounge area with two comfortable bedroom chairs. Mature indoor plants feather the corner of the room, standing at different heights to follow the outline of the bed and headboard.

A sprawling bedroom pendant light spreads across the ceiling.

LED strips create a glow around the edge of the headboard.

A taupe accent wall frames monochrome art.

The glass wall bathroom is divided into two volumes, with the bathtub in one and everything else in the other.

An art mural fills the back wall of the bathroom.

Sophisticated Small Scale Luxury With Beautiful Botanical Themed Decor

Luxury isn’t exclusive to huge scale homes, sophisticated small scale luxury is every bit as fabulous. These two compact living spaces offer upscale style in spades, with the help of beautiful botanical themed decor, precious metallic accents and bold use of color. Find jewel tones and Mondrian inspired decor in apartment number one, plus a very special indoor glasshouse. Home number two takes us on a journey of rose gold trims against refined marble backdrops that are juxtaposed by raw rugged concrete. Each high end scheme is given true individuality with the help of bold bespoke furniture pieces, unique shelving and unusual decor elements that are sure to inspire.

The indoor plant house acts as a stunning room divider, softly feathering the view through the open plan room. Golden framework edges the curvaceous glass enclosure.

Visualizer: Art Group   Our first apartment interior was designed for a young family, located in the residential complex Rublevo Park. Soft grey painted walls and wall mounted cabinets create the backdrop for a large emerald coloured sofa arrangement. Each sofa faces out toward the four walls of the room, creating a rectangular void at the heart of the cluster. The void is filled by a small but sleek glasshouse for a variety of plants.

A golden hearth supports a modern fireplace below the TV. The flat screen television is recessed within a blue surround, which incorporates a series of bookshelves and sound speakers. A half circle rug peeps out from under the comfortable seating.

The opposite side of the sofa arrangement is faced into the dining room, with another half circle rug at its foot. The blue and peachy tones in the rug design match with accent cushions on the green sofa.

A golden wall light scrolls in organic form between the windows, against pale green paintwork. Matching curtains and sheer white voiles dress the windows. The wooden flooring in the living room is carved away to meet with a tiled floor, decorated in muticolour organic design.

The luxury dining set is made up by contrasting styles of dining seats in blue and gold. A blue banquette bench skims a curved wood panelled wall. Iridescent floor lamps add to the colourful ensemble; these are the Oda style lamp. Originals are available here.

Jewel tones shine from nesting coffee tables in front of the sofa, in sapphire blue and emerald green. In the kitchen, a curvaceous blue island and backsplash break up a wall of wood grain.

The royal blue kitchen island has a unique design, as if it were a pretty presentation box with its lid slid to one side to form the breakfast bar. Three unusual kitchen bar stools nestle beneath the overhang.

Behind the kitchen bar stools, a third dining/coffee area is fashioned inside of an orangery. The mosaic effect floor tile continues out here, where it is also framed against the wall as art.

Inside the master bedroom there is a very unusual platform bed design that incorporates seating. An angular bench with backrest cantilevers from the foot of the bed, and the bedside doubles as a cosy seating nook with cushions. A series of bedroom pendant lights illuminate the creation.

A section of the wood effect headboard wall is cut away and fitted with LED strip lights to create a layered effect.

Ombre window drapes are tipped with red to match the bed upholstery. A green indoor plant creates strong contrast.

The red accent colour continues inside the luxury bathroom, in a Mondrian inspired interior design.

Red and blue bathroom tiles are contained within a dark outline to replicate De Stijl.

The bathroom wall is divided into three volumes: the bathing area, the shower cubicle and a WC enclosure.

There is a modern home office through a set of glass sliding doors. A contemporary fireplace flickers in front of the work area.

A reading nook has been built into the storage cupboards, with glass bookcases on either side.

The modern home office desk is colour coordinated with the walls, with one leg finished in pale teal.

A sleek table lamp lights the desk. More unique table lamps here.

The kid’s bed is another bespoke design with angular cuts and and integrated features. This time a bookcase is built into the wood surround, and a triangular step climbs the edge of the platform.

Geometric mats colour the floor.

The kid’s study offers up more bespoke angular inspiration.

Floor mats become thicker around a climbing area to provide a softer crash landing.

A couple of pouffes huddle around a bookcase to offer a comfy reading spot.

Visualizer: Roman Hlukh   Our second example of small scale luxury is a simple but elegant apartment that combines marble and concrete, wood and metal.

An indoor concrete planter forms part of the tv wall decor. The indoor plants make fresh colour contrast with a rouge armchair and sofa.

A cylindrical wood coffee table forms the centre of the lounge.

Rose gold bookshelves complement the warm tone of the seating upholstery. Matching metallic slats make up a feature wall behind the sofa.

The lounge stands open to the dining room.

Rose gold chair and table legs look fresh combined with ice white tops.

The kitchen units continue the white and gold theme.

Metal wire scribbles the outline of a sculptural light.

The deep colour of the sofa fabric is repeated in the master bedroom over a bespoke upholstered bed.

A striking botanical mural colours the wall green, and shows through a translucent vanity chair that is a clear acrylic Panton S chair.

Rose gold enters the bathroom in the form of an open shelving unit, a unique faucet and two round vanity mirrors. The shining metal sings against a monochrome backdrop of luxurious marble, and a cool concrete floor.
