“What are you talking about, Landon?” Exasperated is one way to explain how Savannah is feeling. Like the two of them have just been on one long carnival ride that won’t stop going in circles. Bickering over the littlest things anymore. “After all of this you think I’m just fucking messing with you? I take you to meet my father, I show you around the town I grew up in and you think-“ The woman stopped herself. They were going nowhere fast. Him getting booted from their team has taken more of a toll on things than she originally thought it seemed. Savannah could feel the heat of anger creeping under her skin. She's a hot head, she's knows this, and so does Landon. 'I'm not doing this with you for the umpteenth time.'

Desk bound. Ever since she'd been shot a few weeks back Savannah had been stuck doing paperwork. Wasn't allowed back out in the field until she was back to one hundred percent, physically more than mentally, and she was still in pain. Certain movements still pulled at that sore spot along her torso, make her flinch or hiss, and the scar was only just now looking less angry. But that also meant Landon wasn't needed, and well--she hadn't seen him much. More her fault than anything else. Still too scared to just admit to him that she liked him. Hell she loved him. But then that would make this real, and that would mean she could lose him. It also meant that she couldn't hide it, and would have to tell her superiors that she'd had a work place relationship. It was all complicated but, Landon was worth it in the end. She knew it the moment she'd opened her eyes from surgery and saw him sitting by her bedside. It wasn't meaningless, the time they'd spent trapped in that cabin.

Her phone vibrated next to her, and she scanned that text message that came through. So, he beat her to the punch. A tiny smile crept to her lips as she pushed her phone aside, trying to get her work done so she could get home. 'Wynter,' She said softly as she walked into the lobby of her building. Never one to go back on his word, he was very much there. Savannah just eyes him a moment before taking a deep breath. 'If you're crazy, then so am I.' She admitted, and truly it felt like an invisible weight was lifted off her chest. Could breath a bit easier with the admittance of that truth. 'But- I'm not good at this as you can probably already tell. So I'm sorry if I've... made this or make it harder then it needs to be.' @wynterlanding // CLOSED

Basking in the after glow of being with Landon for the first time since they agreed to try this thing out, after saying I love you? Savannah almost missed it. Almost. If she wasn't so hyper aware of that area he would have gotten away with it. Tracing soft finger tips along that still angry looking mark along her torso. Where bullet had met flesh and tore it. Forever changing her in more ways than one. Physically she's healed, not much to do but let the scar decided how it will eventually settle. Mentally, she's doing much better than she had been, but clearly not there just yet.

Even went as far to wrap a quick hand around his wrist to still the movement, ease the fingers away. Everything before had been heat of the moment, a need for each other that surpassed her paying attention to his hand placement, but now that she was aware... 'Landon,' she breathed it softly, almost pained. That was a mark of shame in her eyes. She should have done better, it should never have happened and-- a sigh left her, just as soft as his name had been, releasing his his wrist almost as fast as she'd grabbed it. It was just him, he hadn't crossed a line or anything like that and yet it still didn't make her feel like she was allowed to be damaged like this. A reminder to both of them that she wasn't always as tough as she thought she was.

'It's gonna be fine Landon. I promise.' Savannah tried to reassure Landon with a quick glance away from the road. He was finally going to meet her dad. Her only real family and she could tell he was nervous. She was a little too, but she just happy to get to see her dad. It had been a little while since she'd been home. Meeting family was always a big deal, meant things between two people were pretty serious and Savannah had meant it when she told him she was all in. 'He's going to love you. He's big and scary looking but he truly is a teddy bear.' And maybe a little protective over his only child. She reaches a hand over to rest on his leg, giving it a gentle squeeze. 'Just be you, he wants to know more about you and you're writing so you could literally talk his ear off today.'

She'd been shot at before, been lucky that every one hit her vest when it did happen. But not this time. Low enough that it missed the vest, and Savannah had gone down quickly, blinded by the pain and the sudden loss of blood. Her partner took down the assailant. She was rushed away, taken instantly to the hospital and into surgery. Landon hadn't been part of this particular case, but Savannah's partner did alert him, unaware of the things that had transpired between the two but wanting the journalist to be made aware that the FBI agent was going to be out of commission. Savannah was out for most of the night and following morning and when her eyes blinked open she expected her partner, or some other agent from the Bureau of there, not Landon. But then again she should have. Their relationship tipped past professional at this point, neither one still ready to move one way or the other. "I'm.. I'm fine Landon, don't look at me like that.' She said groggily, trying to shift herself to a more upright position with a wince.
