i dont do pathologic because it requires too much brain power but i do think it says a lot about fandoms and shippers when they will blatantly ignore a characters overt racism because theyre (somewhat) attractive. ive seen it secondhand with path of logic obviously but as someone who enjoys a good resident evil, allow me to go on a rant:

the amount of people thirsting on wesker is insane because hes not just a evil villain who kills he's also a eugenicist. like to each their own but what is appealing about wesker when hes a eugenicist with a nasally british voice? is it his muscles? most the dudes in the game have muscles. is it his black clothes? just draw someone else in them. is it the villainy? there are hotter villains. little "easter eggs" of canon information tell us hes a freak with the picture of a kind of scantily clad probably-about-18 year old rebecca. on top of that even in side material hes a freak, in one of the books he sees a a woman who denied his date invite as a zombie and goes out of his way to kill her. he literally does all kinds of shit to make chris' life hell, including kidnapping the last family member he has left. you have to make him a totally different person to make him likable enough to be in an average love/hate relationship with chris or william (who is his own can of worms that i will not get into).

idk get standards. like sure i make jokes about krauser being racist because its funny to me or whatever but at least theyre just jokes and not canon or ingrained into his character like it is with wesker. other than turning evil (and calling ada a bitch which most people would look over), krauser is pretty fucking normal AND hes like 6'6 so get some taste. you clearly dont care about people being ugly if you think wesker is sexy.
