remember the scene where Percy almost let’s himself die during the whole polyblotes fight under water cause he feels guilty about akhyls and opens up to Jason and Jason’s just like yeah i get it :( So what if Percy genuinely thought this was an issue and that Jason needed help? So he hunts down Piper first and is like

Percy: You need to look out for you bf

Piper: Wait why what happened?

Percy (trying to respect Jason’s privacy): He said some pretty concerning things

Then it slowly becomes a whole thing until they all decide to stage an intervention so when Jason wakes up late and sees all their solemn looks (and the fact that he’s not the earliest to be awake for once) he’s just like

Jason: Who died

No one speaks and Jason gets more frantic until-

Percy: We’re here to help you

Jason:???

Piper: We all love you and want you to be here

Jason: wtf is going on

And then everyone turns to Percy in confusion who’s trying to avoid talking about his whole breakdown in the first place so he’s like um.. well…

That’s how Percy finds out Jason is a drama queen who exaggerates

This year's halloween costume party features Aule for the group costume theme (he is also invited).

feanor's fire effect is achieved through slightly-glowy tiny gems sewed onto a bodysuit with actual stone chunks attached. the mini-Lamps are glass lanterns containing one silmaril each and carried on a really long fishing line by the ambarussa. feanor made a mini-angainor (complete with sock monkey melkor) just for the costume.

celegorm's orome costume is a slightly upgraded version of his costume from last year's party (x)

mahtan and nerdanel (as mairon) are the only ones who didn't have to get a wig/fake beard.

curufin spent more time helping feanor with the mini-Lamps and mini-Angainor than working on his own costume. also celebrimbaby is a dwarf because why would you *not* go as aule and a dwarf when you have a small toddler.

I grew up religious so in my family and school we only went by the jewish calendar, and even though it’s been years since I came out of Aron HaKodesh it still feels weird to celebrate on a day that means nothing to me- but it would be weirder to tell non religious people Tamuz 4th when they ask what’s my birthday, right?

“I remember,” Makino breathed, holding his face, and the memory seized him without kindness, but unlike his vision, the trembling grin that broke across her face held none of the things he’d feared―that she would look at him and see how much he’d changed, and that it wouldn’t be the captain she’d loved. Because she saw―all his changes, and all the things he’d done, measured now against the man she’d known―but it wasn’t disgust that had fresh tears spilling over her cheeks but joy, as Makino sobbed, “I remember.”

Then, her voice softened to a shiver as she cupped his face, “I remember you,” she murmured, and with such aching familiarity, if he had lost himself, she found him now as she breathed, “Shanks.”

2024 —my year in writing

last year, i wrote more than i ever have like literally in my whole life. this year i beat my record by about 200k words. i am writing A LOT and it’s all because of you.

yes, you, reading this now. anyone who kudos’d or commented or liked or reblogged anything i wrote, and followed me here and on ao3, and ranted in my dms and added me to servers. you, reading the weird things i write, the things i can only write and only i can write, seeing it and liking it and coming back again and again for more. thank you :)

so here’s my 2024 summary:

my favorite fics:

real world (stardew valley) - a story about parenthood and roads not taken. genuinely the most important story to me, a diary entry as much as fanfic

pilgrimage (bg3) - a story about two people without a past as they work toward an even more uncertain future. i also have no past because of a strange upbringing so this story is kinda personal to me even though it’s about a cleric and a vampire

novel (hades) - a story about looking for adventure and finding love and family instead. i had so much fun writing this and posted weekly without pre-writing which was a challenge but it all worked out

patchwork self (datv) - a story about finding pieces of your brother in yourself. i wrote a lot of structured fic this year and i think this one flowed the easiest and was the most precise in how it delivered the message i was trying to get across, also it’s gen which i never write

my most written pairing: thanzag with 11 stories! not surprising since ive spent most of the year humiliating myself over thanatos

my most used tags: romance, introspection, character study

what i learned: i learned above all to trust myself! this year i wrote and completed three multi chapter fics that i didn’t prewrite and posted week by week until it was done. i’ve never been able to do that before but this year i just did it and didn’t overthink it, and i trusted that i could finish the stories and i did lol i can do anything i think i just have to trust myself a little

what i want to write next year: i would like very much to write something original, i have a loose idea so i just need to sit down and write so my goal is really small and simple, hopefully i don’t let myself down
