summary: it was the morning after your wedding with peter, the first morning out of so many others that you planned to share with him. he couldn't believe his luck when he realized it was none other than you sharing the bed with him right now, looking into your lovely eyes, and just... admiring you all the while.
word count: 741
you felt as though this were a dream, that any given time, you could wake up, and this'd all be nothing but a fantasy you let yourself indulge in. but no, it's real. he's right there, next to you, facing you with half-open eyes. the grayish-brownish hue of his eyes from top-to-bottom peer up at you ever so often; seeing your partially sleepy expression crack into a silly grin as he smiles up brilliantly at you.
'oh, his chuckles in the morning,' you thought as you laid a hand on his cheek, caressing it slowly, admiring how soft and smooth his skin felt. he had a slight peach fuzz on his face, he always looked a lot younger than how old he really was, and you enjoyed teasing him for it. now you get to do that every morning, every day, for the rest of your life.
"i know what you're gonna say," he said as he wrapped his arm around your waist and gradually pulled you closer to him, feeling his breath against your cheeks as he looked intently at you, taking in all your features, giving you his undivided attention as his other arm raises his hand lightly and cards your hair through his hands, admiring how soft you felt, how smooth your hair was, as if you were a pulchritudinous sculpture that was somehow given life, a pulse--and miraculously, the heart to love him.
"you're gonna comment again on how much of a baby i look compared to other guys you've met, and y'know what?" he asks you playfully as he looks down at you, at your slightly blushing, smiling face. he sighs to himself in contentment as he brings his hand to your cheek, you easing into his touch. "i'm glad to not be like other guys you've met. because, by some miracle, you chose me out of all of them." he whispered to you as he leaned over to kiss your nose.
you giggled at the contact, thinking to yourself how unbelievably supple his lips felt when they touched the surface of your skin, how snug they felt as they planted small, loving kisses all over your face. "my beautiful, beautiful spouse," he kept murmuring as he kissed you all over.
the golden and orange shimmering sunlight entered the your shared bedroom with him, putting into view your wide-eyed, smiling expression as you and peter just stared at each other, welcoming the first morning of many others in a lifetime you two will share with each other. "i'm so happy i woke up today and the first face that greets me is yours." he said as he nuzzled up against you, pulling you into his unyielding embrace, not intending to let you go any time soon.
"so am i, pete." you mutter as you place your hands on his cheeks gently, him smiling wider, the corners of his lips curving as he looks up at you. "i'm so happy you married me. i promise, all our mornings are going to be just like this--you and me, you being your absolutely perfect self just as you are, and... i'll be loving you so much, in every hour of every day, you will never be without my love." he declared softly as he moved up the bed a little and placed his finger on your lower lip, running across it as he breathed another sigh of contentment.
"all our mornings will be good from now on, really, really good." he said as he inched closer to you and pulled you in for an early morning kiss. there he was, in that bed you two now shared, as spouses; with you being the reason he wants to get up and keep going on as peter parker, as himself. he couldn't believe it, he was there, kissing the love of his life, his raison d'etre, you, who makes every heart beat of his become the foundation for all the love he gives you. all his mornings will be good from now on, he believes, and he hopes he makes every morning you two share the best mornings you will ever live out. and he promises, from the bottom of his heart, that he will make you fall in love with him, again and again, as each and every morning passes; for you do the same to him without even having to try. he loves you, so much, his dearest spouse.
a/n: FUCKKKKKKK I'M SOBBING. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT @sabcandoit!! also i'd like to thank @thecoolerdor for introducing me to your AO3 and blog, YOU WRITE SO WELL OMG, THANK YOU FOR REQUESTING <33333

ab the ferrari suits, there are a few things I'd change like the little square around the shell logo and the saturation of hp (what could they have done realistically lbr that's a title sponsor) but I??? Like it?? I think the dedication to the engineers is cute?? And the kits honestly ate idc same w the trophy
I really like the traditional trophies but sometimes trying smth different it works out and sometimes it doesn't (zandvoort sorry some of the messages were nice but overalllll ehhhhh)
at the end it's just personal preference but I do think it's getting disproportionate hatery
imo they could come out in actual trash, but if the car is fast I'll take it
literally i get people hate logos but they need to move on from it because at the end of the day sponsor logo readability and adherence to brand standard will always come first...like they are Not Allowed to display sponsor logos in "incorrect" ways its just part of what they agree to when they bring on a sponsor and that means bright blue hp and shell being displayed on a solid color bg. i actually think they managed very well with shell by putting it in the yellow square, it fits in very modularly and reads well into the overall concept w using yellow as the dominant color there...like they couldve just slapped it on a white square like some other teams are stuck doing for their sponsor logos cmon..theyre overall really lucky to have so many sponsors who DO allow them to display their logos in a color like yellow that is most certainly not in their brand guidelines. personally i think that alone speaks to how well these sponsors view ferrari as a brand and a partner, its like kind of insane to imagine a huge company ALLOWING the recoloring of their logo like that, easily they couldve been required to keep every sleeve logo white or something..
I think we are way too harsh on ferrari when they are LITERALLY the only team that even tries to do anything interesting with race suits and has pretty consistently given us a bunch of different designs. and not even just recolors!! new designs! its great and i wish more teams would take the risk, it makes it a lot of fun. I think the hate on the carbon fiber look is lame, its a pattern thats so quintessentially racecar, i think the sleeve on the jerseys looks great and very fashionable. and I think the race suits are FUN i think they feel kind of old school and are very striking, they almost remind me of like a subtle jockey silk. i already love the vintage racing stripes feel of the regular suits this year, and i think the yellow striping + the pattern looks great and is really bold and refreshing. so much fucking better than a boring ass black race suit. try thinking about sports gear as something meant to be eye catching, iconic, memorable, collectible, and not just like. idk...sexy for an aesthetic post...idk
dont get me started on trophies, i really do view the trophies, especially ones by contemporary artists, as just that. contemporary art. and while im all good w people having their opinions and having discussions on that art, i hate how often it turns into just like. the tired old takes of Modern Art Bad, Classical Art Good. i actually really loved the zandvoort trophies lookswise, the sentiments written were a little eh, but i thought it was a great way to refresh the trophies, a very cool technique used, and a great way to get people talking! I love the monza trophies, as I said, i think theyre really beautiful n compelling sculptures...
i just think generally a lot of people do in fact have narrower vision if what they believe is "good art" than even they think they do, and i think a majority of people completely misunderstand sports design and just don't like seeing things that are different/not sexy đ¤ˇââď¸

I made a doodle from my oc Nathalia Ammer from AOT, and there's her new design â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
Some selfship lore warning. This cuteness didn't last long because it was only in the first 3 seasons, because from the 4 season everything goes wrong and sad. I'm deluded but if I want to make a good sender to canon, I'll not delude myself that much đŤĄđŤĄ
Her new chosen surname "Ammer" is known as a rare german surname, that refers to songbirds responsible for beautiful sounds đď¸ Nathalia is just my second name, because it is mostly a self insert so đâ°ď¸
Nathalia Ammer is aquarius girl, with 5Ⲡ3 height and the same age as the protagonists. She has brown dollie eyes, a black hair with a long left side fringe hiding mostly of her entire forehead and two low ponytails curled into a single giant curl down. She loves soups, strawberries and apples, milk, fresh breads and sweets without too much sugar. She is from the north of the Rose Wall and both of her parents were craftsmen, her mother with decorative and adornments objects and her father with household tools, sculptures, and assisted in construction work (both dead đ) . Nathalia worked helping her parents' store, aways loved to draw and sculpt small wooden figures and toys since as a child.
Soldier of the Regiment Scout and sometimes subordinate of Hange, she was recruited after going through the same training as everyone else in the same division. An important soldier, not like Jean, Armin Eren and Mikasa but indispensable in missions. She is not good with strategies and does not have much authority, but she usually gets guesses and predictions right. Nathalia has great knowledge, individuality and can be dangerous. Nathalia had her name.
A vain girl, with many soldiers underestimated her for her appearance despite being very friendly and having good skills, but they didn't know that her mind was literally crazy. She had become a great subordinate of Hange, although she's afraid of titans and "secretly" hate her scout regiment "killin titan" job. Nathalia only entered the recognition because she dreamed of traveling beyond the walls in freedom, discovering the truth and getting married.
She wanted a beautiful and chill life for her children and everyone's sake, because she aways believed that everyone has already being born free. That story of the people on the walls being the "only ones" had no fit for her, that's why Nathalia built such a caricatured and superficial image. She was afraid of the government so to have the taste and not get into probable problems, joined the Regiment to really go far, forward with who she can; whatever Nathalia had to discover she devoured in silence. When Eren became a Titan, she become already suspicious of everyone. Everyone. Scared and anxious as fuck.
"[...] They are like roaches. Where there is one, there will always be more. "
When Nathalia met Armin and soon (after a few months until she gained his trust đ) she found out about his "forbidden" book with several lands and "sea" beyond the walls when he told her one night.... she went crazy. She thought "what if I marry him"
Nonetheless, Armin was reciprocal aways having she listening to his stories, ideas, brainrots, and always believing in the world outside. Aways believing on him. He always thought she was beautiful along with other guys who liked her, but always found it curious despite she being so "naĂŻve", refusing everyone and just working. "What does she write so much..............?" Armin liked her a lot, a lot, a lot, but never saying anything.
He was like a secret admirer and always being so friendly and curious about her. "I wonder what is she thinking rn................... " and he could approach her like that, although he was no weirdo. Not at all.
A little too concerned with her style, and there he was already suspicious of her acting. "Why would such a delicate, worried and vain person get into such a job killing titans where everyone can die in such terrifying ways ???" He didn't believe in it and always thought it was so faaaalse.
And when he met her... his heart raced. Raced. A girl beyond Eren to dream and build a better world? To venture out? A woman? He wants that. He would die for that. He's tired of kills, titans, titans, government, titans.
And he get a great loyal dreamer.
Armin believes that she is too necessary and pure 'cause, despite in a cruel world of war and murder, Nathalia remained true to herself and her dreams and aways did what she could to bring the best to the world. She was so kind and supported him even though she listened to his carnage and his darkest hunches, aways being great partners in plans, always completing or seeking each other's opinions.
"You know, Nathalia... Having dreams is very good. Dreaming is, really, wonderful. But we must take it out of this position so that we can turn this real, and this ceases to be an ideal. Let's act from it, together, okay? I promise I'll be with you every minute you need me. I'll be with you in every act you do from. I'll protect you. I believe in you and I am even happier to have you believing in me......."
To Armin, Nathalia is that delicate sea wave, that cool breeze on a sunny day, a lullaby, an adventurous romance book from the shelf, a relief, a special corner of rest, a hug, a kiss on a wound..... dude. He wants to rest. He wants to love and be loved. He wants to travel and discover the world. He wants to help people in a way that his body and mind be safe. He just wants to be secure of being himself for once. With all this, he already gave himself entirely to her. Nathalia just exists and Armin gets asthmatic.
"In this cruel, intolerant, oppressive, impetulous world, where deaths and hatred increase every day, I want to be able to be resilient like you... Nathalia. I still believe in the world out there, in life beyond the walls, and I want to be able to stay true to myself until the end... just like you. You give me hope... I become stronger when I remember to fight for the many beauties yet undiscovered in the world, waiting for each one of us. I want to fight for that, and for you. I want to be able to make your dreams come true, too....... I want to be able to rid my heart of pain and comfort the child I once used to be, and tell him that it's okay to dream with a better world. That's what we naturally did when life used to be 'fine', isn't? Heh heh..."
Nathalia was kind of naĂŻve and silly, a silly dumbass and a big lovely girl. Armin scolded her, wiped her sleeves, and yet loved her as his wife. He was 15 and already wanted to marry her no matter what.
#better save for yourself#aot oc#me being stupid!!!!#me x armin#self shipping play#just being delusional#â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸đŠˇđŠˇđŠˇđŠˇđŠˇđŠˇđŠˇđŠˇ i love being myself and doing what i want!!#nathalia ammer#nathalia x armin

What Yajirobe does all day up there in Korin's tower is one of the biggest mysteries in dragon ball and so that's why I'm glad that in DBS they showed us that they play limbo
Korin definitely has found ways to pass the time because he's lived there for thousands of years probably and I'm not really curious about what he's up to. He's doing Korin things. Mind your business
When I was watching dragom ball I remember loving so much what I was seeing with those two but I was never able to really put into words what I was seeing .. I'm going to try but I'm going to miss a lot so please use your own heart and memory skillz to rember how awesome dragom ball was okkkk.. â¤
Why did that beautiful user draw him licking that damn cat. That was so (as one blessed user wrote in the tags:) Evocative.
I've since found out that TeamFourStar had some... interesting takes when portraying those two so I suppose that the madness of intimacy between them is not a new thing to many people... but it was NEWS TO ME so let me throw my hat in the ring a minute ...
I definitely don't think that they become how TFS did it and I definitely don't think that they settle like an old married couple.
But does he lick that cat?
Loose collection of extensive thoughts (6500 WORDS) about Yajirobe and Korin:
Master Korin is an old hermit. Like any old wise hermit, he's a crazy bitch. Hes got his idiosyncrasies. But by-and-by he can hold his own and is much more balanced and stable than some other hermits out there.
Before Goku, the last person he had up there was Roshi, like... 800 years ago? I think that was the number.
Hes been up there for probably Thousands of years. Being a hermit.
WHAT'S HE DO? He stands around. He watches Earth. He naps. He grooms. He meditates. He stays sharp. He reads little books probably (fun books). Probably has a flowerbed he waters. Makes little origami figures maybe. Weird sculptures. One pebble at a time.
Doesn't really matter.
Hes a sensible fellow. He's got good advice and he's got astute eyes. I think that when Roshi was up there for three years, he got comfortable enough to start pulling out the nudie mags (back then they weren't magazines but drawings). And Master Korin would BOP him on the head with his stick - telling him that he will never be a great warrior with a distracted mind, that he will never have a pure heart if he continues on like this-!
Korin wont allow filth like that up there. Classy depictions are one thing but lewd obsessions are another. And he tells Roshi to throw the drawings away. And well Roshi doesn't. He just hides them.
And eventually we absolutely get to the point where Korin will look at them too. Yes yes very nice. Woah. WOAH. Hand me that one there. WOAH! Eloquent handiwork here. Impressive. Nice. Very nice.
And then Korin hits him on the head and tells him again to dispose of them.
Korin wont allow that filth up there except he totally will and does. It's more than that "he doesnt give a shit" - hes a wise old hermit and he knows better than to try to control the flow of life. So he has a lot of grace when it comes to accepting events and other people's natures. When Roshi first arrived, he wouldn't tolerate it because Roshi was there to train and could still be saved. But after a while it became clear that Roshi was going to keep looking at those sexy drawings, and Korin isn't interested in the unrest of endless animosity. He says his two-cents and he will keep saying it but he cannot afford to keep getting angry. He cannot afford to lose his composure every time. This is just the way it is. And he bops Roshi on the head with his stick about it. And he isn't surprised when Roshi keeps pulling the drawings out again.
He sighs about it and shakes his head and mutters. He still cares enough to do that. He isn't a zen buddhist about it or anything. He isn't too fatalistic. He does work towards a better world.
About that better world ... He will work towards it, but he also is perceptive enough to know when to give up. For example, he admitted after Goku defeated Piccolo that he didn't really think that Goku could have really done that. He let Goku try because ... That's Goku's will, and because, well, it's a nice thought, isn't it? But if Goku had died, Korin would not have been surprised. He was willing to accept the inevitable.
But he didn't admit that until after. During, he cared enough to go against the odds and to aid the cause of good. Korin is a wise old hermit who knows how to read the tide but he DOES play a team - the side of virtue, unequivocally. Hes got opinions.
Korin doesn't just let any bastard up there and and he absolutely has standards. Hes a little bit snarky or feisty because hes an OLD CAT! But hes also pretty reasonable. And he can be nice enough.
When Yajirobe first showed up there, Korin was accommodating. And he was even impressed by his strength.
And later he tried to offer him tea. Becasue that's what you do when you have company.
And we see them talk a few times in filler shots. And they're both chill about it.
OK wait there was one scene that was so funny where Korin was telling Goku about how one has to be pure of heart in order to go see Kami-Sama. And how Goku fit those qualifications perfectly. UNLIKE YAJIROBE
^ he just went out of his way to YELL at him like this ... CHECK OUT HIS FANGS. ME-OWCH!
That's Korin. He's got quick eyes. He knew to yell at Yajirobe. He knew that Yajirobe deserved it
Yajirobe was only there because he had to bring Goku up there (twice). Okay sidebar
YAJIROBE:
He shows up in the story when it has taken an abysmal turn. A nosedive toward devastation. And we're following Goku who has snapped out of shape from circumstance. And we're watching him navigate this. And navigate he does becasue he is still alive. And it's bizarre, becasue we're seeing something that usually isn't in stories; usually stories are what is dramatically satisfying, stories have direction. But at this point in the narrative, Goku is just ... alive. He almost died. Hes starving and trying to do something about it, lest wait for death. Krillin is still dead. What's to be done, but to....do. it's.....peaceful, in a harrowing way. Unobserved. And then Enter Yajirobe. Hes not a diamond in the rough necessarily, but we are definitely digging around in the rough, or you could even say we're in the shitter at this point- and hes no diamond, but he's more than dirt. He's a shard of obsidian in the rough, maybe. Hes something. And we find him and we're still in the rough.
To elaborate further: this little dip in the story speaks of survival and persistence. Bear with me. When it comes to Yajirobe and Goku's character, there is between them an interesting tango of physical health VS higher moral spirit. First, because this part of the story is a flagging physical existence underscoring an absence of higher hope, we meet the hedonistic, physically adroit, and survival-minded Yajirobe to attend to that necessary foundation. This is a virtue that Yajirobe offers our hero now, and later on too as their characters progress through difference scenes (more on that later). This simple Yajirobe contrasts with the pure-hearted Goku who struggles to retain his character in the overwhelming mess of his enraged and wounded spirit, but through this Goku must also find a way to persist (this isn't resolved until Mr Popo beats that attitude out of him). So Yajirobe's character first teaches of treating the most basic realm (physical survival which extends into persistence of being), and then highlights through contrast the extent of our hero's honor and prowess (which, you could take as a direct contrast, or you could take as a comparison, saying that emotional/spiritual expression and sustenance is just as key for survival as saving your skin is; persistence of being is resilience of character). Yajirobe's debut being at this miserable point in the story is what creates his character for us - the shining obsidian in the rough. He's a survivor.
He is able to keep up with Goku. He swims as fast as he and runs as fast as he. When they fight each other they both remark in their heads that this is one of the strongest guys that they've ever faced (Goku had kicked him with his full strength and Yajirobe stood back up all the same...!). And he eats Cymbal like it's no big deal, against even Goku's protests.
we receive no indication that Yajirobe has received any formal training. It seems that Yajirobe has acquired his abilities by just .. practice. Out here Livin it. He got that katana from somewhere but he's just out here surviving.
The wikis identify him as the ronin (masterless samurai) archetype, right down to his outfit. This is awesome.
He is truly built different. He's fully human and entirely different. He's selfish but not malignantly. He's oriented toward his own safety, survival, and comfort, and he allocates all of his resources toward these goals, and in this he is effective: he doesn't waste time procrastinating or playing the hero (WITH SOME NOTABLE EXCEPTIONS..!!!!) He's built different and doesn't need or WANT friends. He doesn't want to be bothered. He wants the freedom to be alone. If he wanted to settle down in one area then he would have built a house. But he hasn't, presumably because before long a mailman would find him and connect him to a greater society. So Yajirobe is just out here hunting and sleeping and staying on the move. He's completely happy and self-actualized to do so.
Yajirobe can be lazy and cowardly but still, not quite ... to be cowardly implies you are going against your greater want or virtue. He never intends to be anything but SAFE, so he's not cowardly, just smart and goal-oriented. To be lazy implies that aspects of your life suffer because you don't put any resources toward them - and he never intends to be anything but well-rested and content, so hes not lazy, just comfortable. Furthermore: Yajirobe doesn't put off hard work when it's in his path. He doesn't procrastinate. He really does want to make his life enjoyable, so he doesn't burden himself by half-assing something multiple times. He saves himself the resources and the headache by doing it right the first time. If he has to swim an ocean, he'll do it. If he has to run for miles, he'll do it. If he has to fight a dinosaur until it's dead, he'll do it. He is indeed effective. He doesn't like to waste his own breath, but he is not afraid to use it to max capacity if the results will be worth it. And when he was trying to outrun Goku to earn some damn peace and quiet (and to retain the one-star ball), he was truly willing to run for this, until he found a cart of hay bumping along a lonely road. Then he was like SCORE and took a nap on it and let it move him along for him. It was definitely much more slow then running, but it was comfy, and convenient, and Yajirobe is opportunistic that way. HE WONT WASTE A CHANCE TO SLEEP!
Yajirobe is really good at securing his own survival. In DBS, in the bad future timeline, he survives like a cockroach! He really is just built different. He's a beautiful bastard
Again I want to comment on his appearance in the story ... Even when shit gets crazy and you don't think that you could sink any lower, you could always meet a guy with a katana who is HUGELY skilled when compared to the general populace but you didn't know about him because he didn't want to be found. That is always possible. Anythinf is possible
He does what he must and he takes rests when he can and he defends his own and he hides from the bullshit and he is CONFIDENT in all of this. He doesn't cut corners, and everything he does, he does with conviction. If he shows up late, he's not late - he showed up exactly when he meant to. If he doesn't want to do something, he won't. You could always try to convince him of course and you might succeed with a compelling enough argument or incentive (Ex: he didn't throw the baby Trunks out of the window because he didn't want to invoke Vegeta's ire. Ex: He'll do anything for a Yajirobe Snack in fact that's why he climbed Korin's tower for the first time), and that's all good and fine. He wont act like his mind wasn't changed if it was. Well he may try to fight against it due to an internal conflict of interest but who doesn't hedge a bit at times like that ... Whatever he does or doesn't do, he wont feel shame. He womt feel shame. He wont feel shame.
Yajirobe doesn't know shame. This is key. Well actually more astutely he doesn't know embarrassment. Embarrassment is inherently a social thing, and he just doesn't subscribe to it. He doesn't CARE if he does what's unexpected or rude. He does exactly as he intends to for whatever reason he has. He doesn't care how he fits into a general society! He'd be more angry than embarrassed if you forsake him in a social faux pas context. He doesn't feel that much shame either, but that's not necessarily a social thing, and he can feel it sometimes. If he fails to honor himself adequately he would feel shame, I think, as his one priority is always to protect number 1 (himself). Sometimes that shame may come from losing a fight, or not hiding well enough, or being stupid enough to get involved - and other times, not honoring himself means not acting on the nagging pull in his chest to INTERVENE and DO SOMETHING. I mean, he can handle a lot of life at once - he lives here, and he knows how to earn his keep here, and he has the right to be curious and hover around fights, and he has the right to have opinions about it.
He's always standing around and crossing his arms protectively and responding with animosity .... hes always making snap judgements that are completely true ... he doesn't care who you are or what your name is. You can't talk to him that way.
Yajirobe represents something special to me .... he represents an organism who is successful in being with itself and standing up for itself. Convincingly. I think that that's so beauriful and importsnt ...
Ok anyway.
So Yajirobe ascends Korin's tower becasue Goku is beaten to shit and he tells Yajirobe that theres beans up there and so Yajirobe commits to this tower. And he totally makes it. And when he gets up there Korin is impressed at how Yajirobe climbed the entire tower with Goku on his back.
And then later after Goku defeats Piccolo Daimao for real, Yajirobe carts his ass up there AGAIN and if I recall he just did that out of his own volition. WHY? BECASUE IT WAS A MATTER OF SURVIVAL. He serves those sorts of imperatives.
Yajirobe intervened two other notable times earlier in the story for the sake of Goku's survival: 1.) When he swiped his cadaver from the scene of the first Piccolo Daimao battle and revived him in a river, and 2.) When he tried very very VERY hard to convince Goku to NOT drink that super special water that was most likely poison but would possibly make Goku stronger. The latter example felt less like a character caring about the death of another and more about a debate of greater philosophical importance, like they were discussing the true rules of the world: must one put their life on the line to free their soul, or is it always better to be rational about the preservation of one's physical health? This scene was the culmination of Yajirobe's purpose in the story.
Worth mentioning: When Goku did ascend to Kami's Lookout, we get a scene where Yajirobe is sitting on the railing of Korin's tower and staring up into the sky. He admits that he's looking up because he feels like Goku might fall down at any second, and he wants to be there to catch him if he does.
^That's what I was referring to earlier when I said that Yajirobe offers Goku the much-needed virtue of survival and that there would be "more on that later." Goku is always meeting different characters who teach him different skills or perspectives, and at this late point in the story, you would expect that he meet another wise hermit type who is truly above and beyond. But instead we go backwards and touch base again with the most basic of necessities, and it's applicable in context because Goku's spirit is so wounded and confused by grief that he needs that physical anchor as to not lose himself entirely. He's Goku though and quickly reorients himself and is able to apply that virtue of persistence to all of him, and his argument trumps the unambitious Yajirobe's as the purpose of the story.
Anyway. Back to the point of my post...
As you know, Yajirobe stays in Korin tower for forever and ever. He attends the 23rd Budokai, in DBZ he trains with Kami, he hangs around during the first Vegeta battle, he delivers the Senzu Beans and then stays at Capsule Corp for the remainder of the Android Arch - ETC. But by and by. For the most part. We see him up there in that damn tower with that damn cat eating those damn Senzus!
It's no big mystery by now:
Yajirobe avoids hassle and wants to be comfortable. It's safe up in Korin's Tower. Very removed. Very quiet. There is only one (1) other guy up there and he's not THAT annoying. He mostly just waters the plants and grooms himself out in the open and takes cat naps. And when Yajirobe first sees Korin licking his little furry cat balls out in the open like that, he thinks in his head: "That's disgusting. I would never do that." But then two years up in Korin's Tower later and how do YOU think that Yajirobe is bathing?? :cry laughing emoji:
So ... Why does Master Korin LET him stay? Let's break it down:
As mentioned at the beginning of the post, Korin likes to hang out in a place of agreeable temperament. He won't turn rude for fickle reasons. He likes tea and naps and peace. Yajirobe likes those things too and spends most of his time advocating for those things.
Korin is a Crazy Old Hermit Cat Bitch. Completely insane. He's petty and all of his reasons are fickle but he doesn't think that they are. Like any good old hermit, he has no qualms with YELLING at Yajirobe. He can handle Yajirobe. He probably bites him
Korin is first and foremost an old martial artist hermit. He subscribes to a greater harmony in and with the world. His role, and only role, is to assess those who are worthy. While Goku is at Kami's Lookout and Yajirobe stays behind with Korin, Korin tells Yajirobe that he will never ride Kinto-un. I mean anybody could have ascertained that but it's uniquely Korin's role to tell him that. But Korin doesn't just sit idly by. He wants to instill virtue in the next generation of warriors. He keeps certain secrets and skills away from evil hands, and he does what he can for the side of good. And Yajirobe is some young punk who is clearly worthy in strength to scale that tower twice with Goku on his back in such a short time, but is of a wretchedly bound spirit. And Korin is a mischievous little cat hermit bitch and can't help but to see potential, or even a game when there is one: he's not going to turn down this opportunity to try to turn virtuous this bastard soul, whether subtly or not.
Furthermore: Yajirobe isn't evil. Korin can't bring himself to banish someone who isn't truly evil and who has scaled the tower with his own discipline.
Over time it becomes clear that Yajirobe isn't changing and Korin has to accept him as a person and not as a student, and honestly that's great because Korin is kind of lazy too ... He didn't want to be training this whole time like DAMN. FINALLY he can just CHILL... Yajirobe's virtue is NOT Korin's problem and that's such a relief. And eventually Korin becomes content to just watch Golden Girls DVDs with Yajirobe. Because Korin is a cat who appreciates sleepy time with a warm body.
Korin Can't Kick Him Out if he Wanted To becasue Yajiorbe is just going to Keep Coming Back because the Peace and Solitude is too Tempting and well Who is Korin to Deny Fate its Sick Little Games
And don't think that Korin doesn't mess with Yajiorbe becasue he absolutely does. He'll walk up his back and use him as a ladder. Or he'll put a flagon of ale on his stick and make Yajiorbe try to catch him for it. I truly cannot figure out if Yajirobe would give up when it becomes arduous becasue he doesnt want to waste his energy being mocked, or if he keeps at it becasue He Wants That Ale God Damnit. But wither way it'd be fun for at least 30 minutes.
So. Ummmmmmm.
Back to the thesis. DOES HE LICK THAT CAT?
Well...
I will say that I do think that they both keep a respectful physical distance for a while. Out of courtesy for themselves. Korin is a self-respecting cat hermit who is too wise to be trifled with and who doesn't want anything to mess up his fur. Yajirobe is a self-respecting vagabond who knows that his body is a temple and who won't tolerate arbitrary annoyances done to it.
I will say however that early on we have that scene where Yajirobe was stashing Senzu Benas on his person and Korin saw the lump in his clothes and thought that Yajirobe was hiding a tasty treat. And it's Korin's damn tower and he wants those damn treats so he PUT HIS PAWS ON HIM and TORE HIS CLOTHES OPEN. Very rude. Screenshots below
CHECK OUT HIS CLAWS IN THE SECOND ONE.
Korin is a QUICK read of character (of course he is...!) and after only knowing Yajirobe for a few days he KNEW that if he was stashing anything it was yummy food...! He was so sure of it and he so wanted it for himself that he tore his clothes off for it. He's such a crazy bitch
This is not a good example of them respecting the other's personal space but my sense is that it's becasue this is right at the beginning and the dynamic of Korin being a wise hermit and Yajirobe being an irreverent youth is apparent. Korin can put his paws on him. He can do what he wants. It's his tower. And Yajirobe is just some kid.
But I'm arguing that this dissolves over time. Yajirobe stays over the years and he DOESN'T CHANGE. He MATURES but he doesn't CHANGE. He lives his whole life that way and at some point you have to start taking him seriously, right? And Korin is not keen on blatantly disrespecting people. He's a reasonable guy. He respects others' free will and he respects their decisions.
He'll judge you, but he'll accept you. He won't expect anything from you other than what's wonted for you.
So he and Yajiorbe sleep on opposite sides of the tower because neither really wants to burden themselves with getting too close. They are exactly like diplomatic roommates. They eat meals together, they chat, they argue, but they have none of the obligations of intimacy. They are not responsible for or are interested in the other one's feelings.
And it continues this way for as long as it's due. But you know that Yajiobe is up there for literal years. And that there's not much to do up there but to interact with the only other bloke there.
OK LISTEN: A bit of a sidebar but not really because it is deathly relevant: They've always spoken candidly with each other. Neither of them are ever changing. Korin because he's already so old and this is just who he is and Yajiorbe because he's already perfect. And on DAY ONE they both got a read on the other's character that holds up TO THIS DAY.
PLEASE LISTEN: They both formulated opinions about the other on DAY ONE that never change. They never change becasue they are already dead accurate. Both are living authentically and both are students of nature in their own ways and both are incredibly perceptive for it - Korin KNEW that Yajirobe would never give him anything more than the spoken "-sama" and a courteous physical distance, he KNEW that he would never ride Kinto-un, he KNEW that he was somebody that you need to just YELL AT in order to get through to - and Yajiorbe KNEW that Master Korin was a crazy cat bitch, he KNEW that he was full of mystical shit, he KNEW that he was unreasonable in the way that everybody in the world except Yajirobe is.
No matter what time, no matter how long they've known each other - if you go up to visit it will go the same way. You're standing there talking to Master Korin and having a pleasant chat. Then he thinks to say something to Yajirobe, or to get his attention, or even to summon him or what have you - and he interrupts your perfectly pleasent mild-mannered chat to turn his head and YELL in some direction. Throws his arms back and YELLS. Attaching pic for reference
Just completely goes from sweet-old-grandpa to HARSH-YELLING-THAT-PROBABLY-HURTS-THE-THROAT.
He goes like
"YAJIROBI!"
and says it with an "i" and not an "e" becasue that's how he mispronounces his name in the Japanese dub.
And Yajiorbe obviously doesn't enter the room or anything. You hear banging from the kitchen and Yajirobe yells back
"WHAT?"
And Korin yells back and Yajiorbe yells back and this is how they do it. Yelling back and forth like somebody's sweet old grandparents who completely hate each other.
Let me freestyle something hold on
"GET OUT HERE WE HAVE A GUEST"
"AND WHY'RE YOU SCREAMING AT THEM FOR??"
"I'M SCREAMING AT YOU YOU DIM-WITTED BASTARD. GET OUT HERE SO THAT I CAN STOP"
"YOU COME IN HERE! I'M MAKING DINNER!"
"WELL STEP AWAY FOR A MOMENT AND COME MIND YOUR MANNERS!"
"YOU MIND YOURS AND I'LL MIND MINE! I'M MAKING DINNER!"
"WHAT?"
"I SAID I'M MAKING DINNER!"
"YAJIROBI! GET OUT HERE!"
"YOU DEAF ALREADY?"
"YOU KEEP MAKING ME YELL LIKE THIS AND IT WON'T BE LONG!"
"WHO'D'YOU THINK YOU ARE, BOSSING ME AROUND IN FRONT OF THE GUEST?"
"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOU UNGRATEFUL FREELOADER!"
"FREELO- I WAS GOING TO SHARE, BUT YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN DAMN DINNER!"
"MAKE IT FOR THREE, BECAUSE WE HAVE A GUEST!"
"WHO'S HERE ANYWAY?"
"IT'S GOKU?"
"WHO?"
"GOKU!"
"OH!"
[Sound of clutter and clanging. Enter YAJIROBE carrying a mixing bowl. He is stirring it with a wooden spoon.]
"Hey Goku, long time no see!"
END SCENE.
Anyway.
So That's Yajirobe and Korin. They perfectly read and completely accept the other. Neither modifies his own behavior or hamstrings himself in any way for the sake of coexisting with the other. This is just who they are. And it works out.
For decades.
I want to point out that when their relationship advances to new tiers of depth or intimacy, it must not be thought of in that manner. There are no "tiers" and we are not "advancing." They are both objective and no-nonsense people. As such, the progression of their relationship is by nature without a shred of suspense.
There are no subtle desires that are held onto until deemed appropriate to express; there are no reality-checks that yield results that startle.
They keep their space because they want to. They talk because they want to. They play games becasue they want to. Korin will claw up Yajirobe's back rather than walking up him horizontally (a known ability that he has) when using him as a ladder because he wants to. They sleep in the same space because they want to. They cuddle because they want to.
It's a long time until they cuddle like cats, but pointing it out in any manner that may evoke the word "eventually" is already giving it too much prominence. Understand that it's a gradual thing like all things and does not matter in the slightest.
ARE THEY SELF-AWARE ABOUT THIS? Yes and no.
Yajirobe doesn't care enough to do self-reflection about shit like that. One day he was barely trusted to water the Senzu plants and another day he was touching the cat's toe beans. So what. They still yelled at each other to SHUT UP every day in between. What's changed, and why does it matter? Yajirobe attaches no importance to gestures of intimacy or camaraderie - he just appreciates warmth and comfort. He trusts that cat to cuddle up and take good naps with him. All is well. So what?
Master Korin definitely meditates about the state of the world and is so aware about everything. So he is aware each and every day what is going on between he and Yajirobe. He knows when he settles down to groom that this is the first time in hundreds of years that he has settled into the crook of someone's bent elbow or neck. He knows it. And he doesn't care. Why should he? It's a fact, an event, like all things. It's nice. It's comfortable. Yajirobe can be trusted to respect his boundaries and to interact with his body in a manner that is acceptable and predictable. In the spirit of being sensible, for the cause of engaging with a greater unity - the path of least resistance right now is napping with Yajirobe.
So that's that.
Take a water break my dear ... I'm not done with you yet.
They do respect each other's personal space. But there is a point where Yajirobe picks up that damn cat.
DETAILS ON THE EVENT OF YAJIROBE PICKING UP THAT DAMN CAT:
That cat is a crafty son of a bitch and he can MOVE. His training with Goku was facilitated through Goku trying to catch him.
And Yajirobe isn't keen on grabbing that cat gratuitously. He has definitely taken many passes at him however when they play / "train" / Korin is being a nuisance on purpose and Yajirobe has had enough (like when he was tempting him with that flagon of ale and eventually Yajiorbe DOES capture that cat...)
And if one is in the other's way: Korin will just walk up and over Yajirobe (which Yajirobe HATES), and Yajirobe will either punt the cat out of the way or yell at him to move (both of which Korin HATES. Especially the kicking. It always starts arguments).
But listen. There is a point where picking up that cat becomes the path of least resistance. It will garner the least resentment and spend the least amount of time.
We get to the point where if Yajirobe is standing up at the stove trying to make his own damn dinner and that damn cat is in the way, he'll just. Pick him up and move him.
Like if Korin were blocking the flour cupboard and Yajirobe was trying to make a roux for the max and cheese then he would just. Pick up the cat. And move him somewhere else.
And Korin would be all like RRREEAAAQHQHJ like a cat does, but when he's set down he's fine. It didnt take long. He wasnt held or airborne long. Obviously it's startling to be GRABBED and FORCIBLY RELOCATED but it's over soon enough and hes cool as soon as it's over.
But still. If he didnt want to be picked up, then why did he let it happen? Couldnt he have darted out of the way?
HOW is Yajirobe able to pick up the cat?!:
On some level Korin knows that it's not a big deal. And that it's just Not Worth the energy expenditure to get away. Like how pigeons walk rather than fly away because it takes a lot of energy for lift-off: Korin COULD dart away, but he doesn't care too. He has a reason for blocking the flour cupboard (doing something, just chilling, I don't know) and he's not gonna abandon it so quickly just to prevent Yajirobe's grubby hands from touching his fur. Yajirobe isn't a big deal. Hes been there for years. He doesn't matter. And though it's an affront to be grabbed and moved, it doesn't actually take long, and Korin doesn't have to actually do anything, and he is free to express himself during, so hes not really being inconvenienced much. Deep down he knows this.
Yajirobe has gained some speed and precision during his time here. I suppose this isn't relevant here because it's not like hes trying very hard to grab the cat, but it's worth mentioning. He can be precise. He just grabs the cat. See Yajirobe didn't come here to train but like I've been saying Korin is a bit whimsical and mischievous so he's gotten his hermit due and has sharpened Yajirobe's abilities by little gambits and whatnot.
So yknow we do get to the point where A.) Korin is comfortable/trusting enough to have his guard down (and Yajirobe is not a big deal or difficult to have around) and B.) Yajirobe's movements can be hard to read/catch/predict sometimes.
WHY does he pick up the cat?!:
Yajirobe is no-nonsense and he doesn't like to waste his own time. He relocates the cat, and he does it right the first time. He's not gonna be all like "Move it furball" and then have to keep saying that because Korin moved to a random spot that is still in Yajirobe's way but just in a different way. He knows where he needs the cat and so he puts him there.
This is efficacy in the form of keeping the peace. Yajirobe doesn't care if he disrespects Korin, and when he does he means nothing by it; but if kicking the cat / punting the cat / pushing him away with his foot would cause such a fight, then he won't do it. He doesn't have the time for a fight. He's making mac n cheese.
Worth mentioning that both are probably really bored all of the time. If he doesn't grab that cat often, then this opportunity may be an enticing piece of stimuli.
So yeah he grabs that cat.
Ummm. What else is there to say........I mean I mean FURTHERMORE:
Yajirobe keeps coming back to Korin Tower. He never wanted a friend, and he never asked for a friend, but he has found someone that he becomes very comfortable with. And if Yajirobe is about personal comfort and pleasure and peace - it is very, very nice to have someone who accepts you, will have you, and who is sometimes even happy to see you. That makes relaxing easy. That makes life enjoyable. Of course he keeps coming back.
Master Korin probably appreciates the fact that there is somebody whom he knows consistently over the years. Usually when he meets someone, it's like starting over every time - but he's had years of conversation and memories with Yajirobe that they can both draw on. Korin can tell a joke and know that it'll land, and they probably have inside jokes too. And it's not like Korin has ever had, or has ever expected to have, a roommate who can be sensibly considerate. Yajirobe knows the foods Korin likes and he considers this when he goes hunting and gathering. He knows what'll piss him off and is sometimes inclined to use this knowledge for good, to keep the peace. Yajirobe may be rude, but he really is reasonable - he will do what feels nice and he'll do what needs to be done. And he doesn't mince words either. He says what he means and nothing more.
So.
DOES HE LICK THAT CAT?
Probably ....
Like I don't see why not ....
VERY IMPORTANT ELEMENT THAT I FORGOT TO WORK IN:
Do ... you know the madness of isolation? Not only that but isolation with another. Yajirobe and Korin definitely develop their own language. And since they are the only ones there, everything they do is through no one's judgement but their own. And they were already pretty comfortable with the weirdness of the world to begin with. The monotony of isolation absolutely dulls and then erases any conventions for normalcy that you had. AND WHAT WAS THERE TO BEGIN WITH? They were both already completely anti-social. At first Yajirobe wouldn't lick that cat becasue he has self-respect but he's up there so long that he grows so comfortable with Korin that he has jurisdiction over and no qualms with licking that cat. HONESTLY IT'D BE WEIRD IF HE DIDN'T?
It'd be weird if he didn't. It'd be weird if he wore judgement like a hat. It'd be weird if he denied himself anything. He licks that cat.
And the cat lets him.
Korin has just as much self-respect as Yajirobe does. He allows himself life's pleasures. He would enjoy the pleasures of trust and comfort, and he would enjoy being licked.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Korin is a wise old hermit who is a crazy bitch who has found someone who invokes him to yell "SHUT UP" to without a moment's thought for his own elegance of image. Yajirobe treats Korin with the irreverence of a mortal and it has nothing to do with a disrespect for Korin and everything to do with a respect that Yajirobe has for himself. They don't hate each other but they have disliked everything about the other's unchanging nature since day one. They feel the comfort of friendship when around each other and Yajirobe is eternally motivated to climb that tower (or use a hovercar if it can reach that altitude). Honestly Yajirobe probably just stays there becasue it's a hassle to have to climb up it again every time and he knows that that's where he'll end up anyway. Korin is a cat and he likes to be licked. End post
STAY GORGEOUS !!

Hi! Is it ok if I get a romantic and platonic welcome home match up?
Hereâs some info :D
I go by she/her and I am queer. Iâm not too sure what I am since Iâm still learning about myself lol
Iâm a shy and quiet person most of the time. With the very few people in my life that I am comfortable with I am pretty loud.
Some of my hobbies are music! I play 6 instruments in total. I also have always been into art. I really like sculpture and ceramics.
My zodiac sign is cancer
My style is complicated but I like putting different textures together and going with a sort of artsy look. I carry a bag with all of my favorite band pins on it!
Minor appearance details: semi-long brown hair, green eyes
A random fact is that I have central heterochromia in my eyes
What I look for in a partner: I look for someone whoâs nice and non-judgmental.
My favorite date idea: any! Iâm not picky
Hello, of course you can! Thanks for the request!
YOUR (ROMANTIC) MATCHUP ISâŚ
HOWDY!!!
Nice and non-judgmental? Lucky for you, this caterpillar shopkeep is on the market! And heâs 100% on sale⌠well, not really, but you get idea. Howdy and you are a great match!
Howdy can talk enough for the both of you to fill the space when youâre feeling more quiet. As the local shopkeeper, he has plenty of gossip to blab on and on about! And, of course, when you feel like talking and open up to him, heâs a great listener too like he is with all his customers⌠but especially for you!
Howdy loves your interest in music! He really admires the fact you can play 6 instruments. He could listen to your music all day, even makes up excuses for you to play around the shop while heâs on break or idly working. If you donât mind, he can even sing along! I imagine he has an amazing voice, especially for crooning.
Heâs usually busy with the bodega but he will spare as much time as he can for you. He finds your hobbies so cool and insists you teach him a thing or two. He has 4 arms and legs, he can multi-task! And when heâs not working, youâll go on dates, which can be anything from dinner to a walk around town since youâre not picky and neither is Howdy.
His favorite thing about you besides your passions are your eyes, especially the central heterochromia part. Green is his favorite color, you know! He finds them fascinating and beautiful like the rest of you.
YOUR (PLATONIC) MATCHUP ISâŚ
WALLY!!!
Obviously because youâre both artists, you and Wally would get along very well! Iâm sure the minute you show Wally any of your drawings or ceramics, heâd be overjoyed and calling the two of you best friends!
Your favorite past time is creating together, whether that means drawing or painting or sculpting or whatever! You often model for Wallyâs paintings and vice versa, and you both trade art when youâre done. Even better, you can offer each other advice or tips on how to draw something or make something.
Wally is not very musically inclined, on the other hand, but will love listening to your many instruments (like Howdy)! If you allow him to try, heâll be very bad, like off-beat and stuff. Heâs best on a simple cymbal or triangle or something like that.
Of course, Wally is just a really great friend. Heâs quiet too so a lot of the time is spent enjoying time together silently. You have an understanding without needing to speak much and just appreciating each otherâs company. Itâs a nice break away from your other, louder neighbors!

Beautiful Work of Art
Pairing: AU/PainterSam Wilson x Fem!Reader Warning: Fuffy Summary: Sam Wilson is your new next-door neighbor, who also happens to be a painter at the local rec center A/N: This is my first AU, please be nice to me. It's a very short but, it's going to be a miniseries too Taglist: @megamindsecretlair @kjah97 Divider credit: @firefly-graphics
You moved the last box into your empty new living room. Exhaled, and stood back looking at the potential of the living room. You heard a light knock on your front door, you turned around and saw a gorgeous man standing in your doorway "Oh, Hi." You smiled and walked up to him "Hi, I'm Sam your next-door neighbor and I brought you some cookies." He handed you a plate of cookies with plastic wrap over them âThank you, and I promise I will give your plate backâ He smiled and shook his head. "No rush, I hope you enjoy them. If you need anything I'm right next door." You smiled back and watched him leave out the front door, closing it behind him. You looked down at the cookies and honestly, they looked store-bought, but it was the thought that counts right?
You finally unpacked the last box all while simultaneously eating the last cookie, they were in fact not store-bought and absolutely amazing, you checked the time on your wall clock 5pm, thatâs a reasonable hour to take the plate back, you cleaned off the plate with soap and water and dried it with a clean dish towel. You looked around for something you could take over to him, your eyes landed on an elephant sculpture, sure itâs not better than cookies but it was really pretty. You held the plate in one hand and the elephant in the other, you walked over to his house gently knocking on the door. You waited a few minutes before knocking again this time a little harder maybe he didnât hear it, just then you heard soft music being played from the backyard usually you would just leave the stuff and go home but the music had some sort of hypnotic spell on you and you couldnât resist following it.
You reached his backyard and saw Sam standing before an easel swaying to the music. That man was gorgeous, and he knew it. You knocked softly on the fence; he turns to face you "Oh hey" He set his paints down and walked toward the fence "I wanted to return your plate, and I brought you an elephant sculpture, I'm sorry if you don't like it, I don't bake or cook." You handed him both the plate and the sculpture he smiled and placed the elephant on the porch, adjusting it to his liking. "I love it, I can look at it while I paint." He realized you were still on the other side of his fence "Oh, I'm sorry come in." He opened the gate so you could walk in, and you walked the rest of the way in the yard he closed the fence door and walked back over to his easel "If you're busy I can come back another time" He chuckled and continued his painting "I can multitask." You looked around his yard until your eyes landed on his painting âThatâs gorgeous, youâre really talented.â He smiled over at you and started singing to the music.
The two of you talked, sang, and just got to know each other, you didn't realize it was already 10pm, you looked down at your watch "Oh crap, I have to go. It was a great time getting to know you I had a lot of fun." Sam smiled and walked you to your front door "Come over any time you're bored, I'm usually in the backyard." He kissed the top of your hand and walked backward off your porch "Until then" You chuckled slightly and stepped inside. You leaned against your front door, he can sing, he can paint, he's funny and gorgeous what more could you ask for. He's got to have a girlfriend or a deep dark secret, there's gotta be something wrong with him, you walk to your room and as soon as your head touched your pillow you are asleep.
It was the next morning, you did your normal morning routine, ate breakfast, and then checked your email for the address to the local rec center you would be working at. You finished getting ready and decided to bike there since it was a nice morning, and you didnât live that far from it. You walked in the front door being greeted warmly by the woman behind the desk "Hi, what can I do for you?" You walked up to the desk looking at the sign in sheet "I am Y/N, I am a new volunteer for your art class" She told you to sign your name along with the date and the time "Down the hall, third door on the left." She flashed a smile, and you went on your way. You finally reached the door, you slowly opened it and walked inside, you looked up and saw a familiar posture.
"Sam?"
A/N: I know it's shorter than I normally do, but I honestly just wanted to get this story out, I hope you like it there's much more to come, if you would like to be tagged in future stories, comment or send an ask or fill out this form (click this) and I will add you to the list!

@paraleech asked: " Niniiii. Nini, come look. Look. " Fyuga awkwardly wobbles holding a box of.. something. Said box has been haphazardly wrapped up with gift wrapping, but it's done so choppily that no one other than Fyuga herself could have attempted it. " It's a special time of year. Fyuga still thinks about what Lam-lam said, that Sandadark isn't real... so in case he isn't, Fyuga got you something. Fyuga worked really hard to find it. đĽş" Opening the box reveals that the contents inside were much too small to warrant the size of the box itself, but the object within is actually fairly interesting. It appears to be some kind of geode, a stone with a shining center. Congratulations, Daisuke, you've earned a cool rock for the holidays! Courtesy of one very strange girl who likes looking for shiny stones. ... Wait. That isn't any normal crack on the rock... did she bite into it?
' ah ! fyuga , let me help ! ' the instant he sees her wobbling , he doesn't hesitate to rush forward and try to steady her grasp . geeze , just what was in here ? nothing too fragile , right ? curious as his blinks are , the best he gets is a glimpse at the nondescript box peeking through every gap in the colorful wrapping . ' --- wow , fyuga . did you wrap all this by yourself ? ' it's not mean-spirited ; in fact , daisuke sounds rather impressed .
wasn't wrapping difficult for anyone who had never done it before ? there's a particular charm to fyuga's attempt ; a clumsy , endearing quality to it that was as readily recognizable as it was undeniable . even in a house like this , where over half a dozen entities went about trading holiday plans and presents with one another , there were still tell-tale details that could hint to each and every initial owner . if only daisuke's were a little less scatterbrained : forgetting bows , stickers , or folding flaps and taping them in the wrong way ...
' sandark is definitely real , fyuga . remember what i said ? ' he's compelled to address this first before anything , smiling at her in his usual warm way . ' lots of people have seen him . lots of people believe in him . so ... ' nevertheless , he still accepts fyuga's gift . ' you don't have to worry about any of that , and i can accept fyuga's present as it is . as something just from fyuga's heart . thank you ! '
it would be fine to open it right where he stood , right ? he strips off the loose wrapping and shakes a hand to free his fingers from the cling of ambushing tape . fyuga said she had found it , so maybe it was just an ordinary river rock or something ? it's not only a particular gleam catches his eye that his guesses are blown away --- with the rest of him . ' oh , woah ! '
in a house full of prized art , natural forms of beauty like this felt like a wondrous rarity . it's unlike the various jewels and precious gemstones he had always seen and touched embedded into things like accessories or sculptures , and even its obvious flaw --- the familiar sort of toothy crack that he could only stifle some of his sudden laughter at , felt more akin to a unique personal touch than any ruinous marring . when he lifts the geode up it splendidly shines , and the light of it reflects starlit into the boy's eyes --- eyes that remain the same even as his heart pounds and he transforms .
' this is great , fyuga ! you're really amazing ! ' finding a treasure was one thing , but abstaining from hoarding it away , be it in some squirreled-off place or even in her own stomach , took something even more . happy with anything so long as its sentiment was sincere , he treasured this blissful , innocent sensation bubbling up within him the most . already he knew a place for her present ; right within the shelf by his bedside , touched a little no doubt whenever he wanted to find some faith . fyuga had given him the world's most wonderful goodluck charm . ' thank you . '
a cold hand comes down to affectionately pat the other's head , but it isn't long before fyuga is outright wholly embraced , too --- and the great phantom thief's form shifts once more . ' i can tell you put a lot of work into it , so tried to put a lot of my own work into the kitchen . i helped mom make lots and lots of extra food , so eat anything you want , okay ? for a long time ... i was thinking it over , and i sort of didn't know what to get for you --- but then i thought that spending time and eating lots of good things by your side might have been the best . '
after all , fyuga always looked happiest eating tasty things --- and this too was a house where no one ever should have went lonely .

So I have no voice. My phone is struggling to hear me right now because my voice is so low. And it honestly hurts to talk but I would like to get my post done so I'm going to talk to text, despite my better judgment.
I coughed so hard last night I almost threw up. It hurt my chest really really bad. Sleeping was not great but mostly it was anxiety that was keeping me up and giving me very weird dreams. When I woke up for real this morning I was not in the best place emotionally. But I had an email that said there were two more houses posted in our price range in that area that we liked so I felt a little more settled. And talking to James made me feel good too. They had made me a little breakfast and lunch and they gave me a very big hug and it made me feel a lot better.
I was a little hoarse but it wasn't so bad. I would leave house and it was a beautiful day but I just really wanted to be not outside. I wanted to be in bed. But I had a field trip group and no one else was in the office today and I knew I had to be there. So I drove to camp and honestly I was a good mood. Thanks found a little brighter.
when I got to camp I stopped at the art building to get my other sewing machine in the box I had put aside to start getting rid of some stuff in the apartment. And then I got myself together and went and sat in the office to eat my sandwich. And then I grabbed the ropes key and the Gator key and I drove the Gator up to the ground elements part of camp.
I got everything set up and I made sure that the rope stuff was unlocked for Celia. Then I took the Gator down to the bears to put my field trip sign up and I went to find some cones to put across the bear sculpture so that the bus would not accidentally go up there. Normally the groups go to the lodge but today we were in the hacienda and I didn't want anyone to be confused. That ended up being a really good plan and I think we're going to do that in the future because it made it a lot easier. Even though I did keep the gator down there and gave some directions from the bottom I think in the future the cones are a good move.
I would go back up to the office to wait for a while with Sarah and Celia. Nick would join us and we had a very silly conversation schools. How we grew up grew up and how I had a very strange schooling experience compared to everyone else. More and more I'm realizing how many classes I did not have or even have the option to take at my school. But it's fine. I worked really hard as an adult to learn a lot of things that I might have missed on as a teenager.
I'm sorry if my post is not super clear from repeating things. I'm doing talk to text like I said and my voice is very strained and my phone is struggling to hear me at times. I'm doing my best. Please forgive me.
When it was closer to 9:45 I sort of directed everyone where to go. I jokingly said that I was in charge because I was the oldest. But I don't think anybody cared if I wanted to be in charge, they still listened to me. I drove the gator down to wait for the buses and directed a field trip parent that came separate from everyone else. And then the buses came early so it actually was great. That school today was awesome and I really really liked the kids.
They were broken into four groups. I drove the Gator back to the hacienda with the bus and Sarah got bus drivers sorted all we got all the kids inside. I gave everyone a little intro to the day and introduced ourselves and then handed out schedules to all the parents and adults. And then we were 15 minutes early and so I adjusted the time for everyone so that we could have a little bit of a longer lunch and get everyone on the bus when they lead teacher requested.
And it was really fun. I had two groups before lunch and two groups after lunch. Ground elements can seem a little boring so I try to frame it in the form of teamwork and team building. I start that off by telling them what ground elements are and that we're going to be working together. I asked them what it means to teamwork. And I asked when you're working as a team do you scream at each other? Do you call each other names? Do you blame someone when something goes wrong? No, you build each other up, you work hard to make sure everyone has their voice heard, so that you can accomplish common goal. And I really think it resonates with the kids. Specifically this group, they were chill enough but even when they were getting frustrated they would calm themselves down and figure out a solution. They were also just really good at listening to my instructions when I was giving them hints.
All the groups got to do the same programs with me. We would start with King's finger where they use a tire on ropes to lift it over three different poles, then we went to whale watcher where they balance on all giant teeter totter as a group for as well as possible. And then finally we would do our a frames. I tried to work it out so that there was about 15 minutes for each one. And that works out pretty well when you have a pretty chill group. Kings finger is particularly difficult when you're not all working together so it's really good when I can lead them through the first one and then I pass it over to a kid and then that person chooses the next person. My morning group struggled a little bit with that but it is a really difficult thing to do so I don't really blame them. The afternoon groups were able to get all three poles which almost never happens so that was pretty exciting.
Whale watcher was also better in the afternoon. I don't know if it was just getting the wiggles out or at the afternoon group had already done our team building games so they had practice being a team. We had 55 seconds, 2 minutes and 33 seconds, 3 minutes and 36 seconds, and 6 minutes exactly. That's crazy. That's such a long time for 15 kids to balance together. But I was so impressed by how well they work together and I think the teachers and chaperones were equally impressed because it's really hard to do. Especially with a large group.
The last program that I do with them is the A-frames where they have to walk a giant wooden A with someone standing on it and everyone struggles with it but mainly we were having trouble understanding what it meant to stand behind the knot where your rope is tied. But it's whatever, I just didn't want anyone to get hurt and I let them kind of self direct that one. So I just walk around and give instructions and help pull when necessary and mostly I was just looking for acorns. So it was just nice being outside.
The kids were really kind about my throat becoming horser and worser throughout the day. This morning during the first program I could hear myself and I was like oh I'm going to lose my voice. And so it with every group I let them know like hey please don't make me yell too much I am struggling. And I was able to keep most of my voice until the last group when at the end just was almost gone. I couldn't project, I sound very sad. And honestly doing this post is hurting my throat really bad but we're almost through it so it's okay.
Once we finished our last program I walked with the group back up to the hacienda and said goodbye to everyone and made sure that nothing was left behind. And then me and Sarah and Nick packed up all of the tables and chairs. Sarah and Nick said it was really funny that I opened up both of the doors and not just the one. And it turns out neither of them knew that the second door opened and I'm like why are we struggling to try to fit these tables through a single door when we have double door available to us. But we handled it and got everything cleaned up. I cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom, while they swept, and we replaced all the trash bags. I would go and grab the gator so we could pick up the trash and drive it to the lodge and then we were done. We all headed back to the office.
Celia was kind enough to put away all the ground elements things for me since she was already up there putting away low ropes. And then she hung out with us in the office while we talked about internet memes from our childhood and watching very inappropriate movies at a very young age. It's funny because I'm just older than them enough that I have this kind of cultural zeitgeist that they don't have access to. But Nick is close enough in age to me that sometimes he gets my references or knows what I'm talking about that the others don't. But regardless it's a lot of fun to hear how they were into certain internet things at different ages when I was just a little bit too old for or certain things and how I experienced them in a different way. It was fun having a nice conversation with my coworkers.
I would chill for a while in the office. Eventually working on my knitting and then working on collecting some stuff for the primitive materials programs I'm working on. None of this is really written down yet but some of the things that me and Heather and Sophie saw on Sunday I'm going to try to emulate. So I'm working on collecting pine needles to work from trying to weave them together. I don't quite understand how you start them yet so it looks a little rough But I'm trying.
Chris would come down for a meeting with Alexi. And me and him and Heather had a conversation about an article I had read about restorative practices in classrooms were promised to fix all of the behavioral issues but now they're saying teachers were reductive and shouldn't have thought that it was actually going to fix anything and it's really their fault and it was just a really obnoxious article. And we talked about it there's no support for those things so it was just really interesting. Heather also found out that her and my sister were only two years apart and she was really surprised by that but I'm not that surprised because I kind of think of Heather as an older sister figure. I know that we have like a 15-ish your age gap but that's the only type of sister I've ever known so it makes sense to me.
I went for a walk eventually to go collect pine cones and pine needles. For a camp that's named for pine trees I could not find very many pinecones. I'm going to try the other direction tomorrow and mayve can find some more. And then at some point I'm hoping I can pull out a crock pot and start cooking down some of my acorns and black wish she was excessive but we'll see happens. It was really nice just to walk outside, my throat was really messed up with this point so just being outside in the cool air felt nice and I didn't have to talk or anything so I was having a good time. I also found a very young shaggy black cap mushroom that I think by tomorrow will be ready to pluck. So I have to remember to go back
I hung out at the office until around 5:00. I had my ceramics class tonight so I didn't want to have to be out wasting too much time. I was really enjoying staying in the office and sewing my pine needles but then I cut myself with a pair of scissors and was bleeding all over the place. I was really frustrated with myself. But I was okay and at five I packed up and I went to go get pizza 7-Eleven.
After I got my $3 two slice / diet Coke combo I drove over to Manor Mill and I ate in the parking lot. At 5:30 I went inside and I beat everybody. Lindsay, the teacher, was not in today because apparently she fell! So we had a substitute. And honestly this session was awesome. The sub was really good at just teaching teaching. Like Lindsay's great at doing demos if you ask but this teacher really gave us a lot of information that I feel like we hadnt gotten yet. And I asked her to show me how to make a closed vessel. Everyone was struggling hear me tonight, which is fair. But we did our best. And I was able to successfully make three closed vessels. I also glazed all of my pieces. Though one of them came out terrible because I didn't mix the glaze enough, it was so chunky, but I think everything in the end is going to look really good. I also trimmed a couple pieces which I like more then I thought I would. But I felt really successful. Once they are leather dry I'll cut them open so that they can be lidded and I think it's going to be really cool. I felt really successful tonight and that felt really good.
I also just really enjoy talking to everyone even though I was struggling to be heard. We talked about camp and working as artists and stipend pay versus independent contracting and of the paying your taxes when you have to do and we talked about horses and our cats being cute and it was just really nice. I really had a good time even though I was struggling and I would start coughing a few times as well.
I had gotten there a little early so I decided that I would leave a little early. After I threw three closed vessels and put little ears on them (I have made them little bears) it was time to go. I cleaned everything up and I said goodbye to everyone. I told Chloe and Sarah I would see them tomorrow if I wasn't dying in bed. We will see how I feel.
Now I am almost home. And I'm very excited to wash my hair because I got clay in it because I didn't bring a hair tie and I had to use the hair tie I use on my clay bag. I was planning on washing my hair anyway but still.
I really hope that when I wake up tomorrow my throat is not so raw and I don't sound like I've been smoking six packs of cigarettes every day for the last 8 years. I hope that you can sleep well tonight and love you take care of yourself. I am going to reread this before I post it because I already know that some of the things that I heard me say were not correct. I love you all. Be careful out there.

They stepped through a doorway in the entryhall and out into a beautiful courtyard. At its center was a small orange pond surrounded by a grove of trees. The cool breeze and fresh air felt nice after having spent the night in what was basically a fortress. A little ways away a forge seemed to be set up. An enormous bronze sculpture resembling the head of a dragon was mounted above it.
"Now you will have the opportunity to meet the main pair who keep everyone's equipment within their best shape. Blacksmith is the finest craftswoman I've ever met we're lucky to have them."
At the forge were a pair of women. One an enormous muscular lady near seven feet in height. A pair of distinct curved horns protruded from her forehead. With one hand she swung a hammer that met with hot steel. The other woman was a tiny lady not even four foot in height. On her head she wore an oversized jingasa. Wrinkles covered her face. As the smith hammered this woman tended to the fire, controlling it with a mixture of tools and some sort of supernatural force.
They finished as the group approached. The huge lady shoved the hot blade into a nearby bucket of water. It was then that she spotted the others, her face lit up with joy.
"You're this season's new apprentices aren't you? I'm so happy to meet you all, I'm only a few years senior to ya so I still remember what it's like to be joining. Don't worry, most people are really friendly. Isn't that right granny?"
"Oh yes, things are quite peaceful now. Much better than when I started, with all that guild war business. Dreadful stuff."
"Woah! The guild wars? That would mean you were a member over thirty years ago, wouldn't it?"
"I've been around for a lot more than that, young lady. I was getting up there in age by the time we faced Gevurah."
"Eh, I know I'm not good at this whole timeline thing but wouldn't that have been something like fifty years ago?"
"Not quite ~ but my great grandma is a hundred and twelve."
"Huh! No way!? I get she's wrinkly and all but there's no way she's that old and still working with the guild."
"No really it's true! Granny is just an eighth gnome, so she's got a bit of a longer lifespan."
"Oh that explains why she's so short."
"No she's just old!"
"No, I'm just old!"
"Huh?"
"That's what happens when you get old! You get shorter!"
"Ma'am please stop joking around. You are the smallest woman I've ever seen!"
"No it's true that's what happens when you get old. Granny used to be my height but being old makes you small."
"Spru- Dusk Witch I'm not losing my mind, right? This is weird?"
"I can't understand why you guys are acting like this. It's perfectly normal to get short when you are old. Have you never met an old woman."
Dragoon coughed loudly.
"Anyways! Firetender here used to be Blacksmith before she passed the title down to her granddaughter and then great granddaughter. While most are not guild members, much of her extended family help with the procuring of resources of with working in the smithy."
"Oh, that sounds really nice! My family was like that too. Hey ... what is with the horns? Are those a gnome thing too?"
"Gnomes do not have horns."
"Oh no! I'm only 1/64th gnome. I'm just also 31/64th human and 1/2th oni on my father's side. Oh ... um ... by the way. I think your leech friend may have dived into our pond while we were having this conversation."

My Journey Through Life
As the semester comes to an end I have experienced deeper emotions along side with Art and all it's beauty. I have been more aware of certain art comes in many forms of expressions, creative skill and imagination. To me art also comes from emotional power itâs a feeling you get when looking at a picture or hearing a song. This semester has taught me really how tough I really am from juggling work full time, school full time and being a new mom full time. None of this was easy but looking at my son made it worth wild Being a new mom means everything changes. From the time you find out youâre pregnant your whole mindset changes. I say embarrassing self love because you have to learn to love yourself all over again while trying to figure out how to be a mother, a wife, a student coming out of postpartum depression.
The assignment where we had to chose a painting that we can relate too. She is me that painting she looked sad but also she is strong enough to still have a positive mind to keep watering herself to become a better version of herself. With the flowers growing on her head it symbolizes that she is finding peace, joy and love again. She is putting herself through the ring to find that once more. As she tries to put herself together itâs not easy itâs draining but the journey is worth it. I say she is me because this art describes a lot about me when really looking at it on a deeper level. That art work was very important and personal to me and let me tell you why. This last year have been the most challenging for me. I say this last year because not only did I become a mother I became a new women. When we go through life being careless and free you have a different outlook on life which was me. I was always so happy, goofy, not really taking things too serious. I went through life so freely not having a care in the world to now being worried, scared, anxious and depressed. Depression was one of my biggest emotion and I didnât understand why.
After doing many assignments for this class I've learned a great deal of art it made me look at the city I live in differently for insist What I think about the sculpture assignment it says a lot about our community and we as a community are strong and we stand together. For example when we to hit the Hurricane Ian it was a scary time. But at the same time I was so proud of our community and how we help each other restore the community to us our community is important and everyone around volunteered and worked together. Living in Florida I havenât really got he chance to know itâs history and itâs beautiful art work.
My interests are still history, society and politics and what I mean by that is when we look at our world today it all goes back in time. That I feel as if we are paying for it today. Our history is very important to learn about because as more time goes on more is being exploited. As our society now we are glued to our phones which is a good thing because now everything thatâs happening in the world is being recognized through social media and politics are being shown more than ever now. As a society we are very much involved in the political world fighting for rights and freedom.
Learning about having a domestic space is a space were the home is distant and private space now the photos I chose where photos of my motherâs home. I choose my mothers home because the home is a domestic space that I believe it does serve its purpose as a domestic space. These songs I chose have a special meaning and emotional connection. And all while living in that home is where i remember these songs. These songs played at some point in my life that make me reflect on the good times in my life. They bring out my personality, my interests and my mood. I feel like when listening to certain music it bring out a joyous moment. If you noticed the songs I chose have kind of the same rhythm most of it county with a kick and rock. This final song I chose is a song that brought my mother and I closer together we would sing this song together. I also grew up with Dolly always playing in my living room. As well as makes you want to put on your dancing shoes and start dancing.
Seeing how fast the first year went and how much we have both learned from each other. As fast as he has grown I feel like I've grown with him. Capturing them moments we will never get back. I can't believe how big he is and the fact that he is starting to walk It reminds me when I see him trying to find his balance that, that's what life is essentially trying to balance yourself through out life and that is what he will be experiencing trying to figure life out.
Thank you Professor for a great semester!

TOMEGIRLS
Opening in theaters this weekend:
Book Club: The Next Chapter--"Best friend tough love."
Several times throughout this sequel to the 2018 comedy, one of the characters uses this phrase before offering a critique, usually not terribly tough, of one of the other three. In that spirit, I'm tempted to offer the returning quartet of leading ladies--Candice Bergen, Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton and Mary Steenburgen--some unsolicited movie critic tough love: cranking out this sort of girls-night-out fluff shouldn't be all they do in the valedictory stretch of their careers.
But I can't do it. These four women are all great stars, first-rate actors and classic screen beauties. In some cases they won their chops gradually--Bergen had a pretty rough start, for instance, but eventually developed killer comic timing--while others, like Keaton, seemed to find a one-of-a-kind persona early on. Each of them, however, has a splendid body of work to be proud of, and if now they want to make money doing relatively harmless, undemanding fare like this, they've earned the right.
That said, this one is really fluffy. But so what? There's a sense in which movies like this are critic-proof. As with 80 for Brady, another emeritus chick flick from earlier this year (also featuring Fonda), the stars here are such good company that the feeble plotting and rambling dialogue and platitudes about pursuing your dreams at any age become a shared smirk between them and the audience.
You may recall the line up, lifelong friends who stay in touch through a book club: Keaton's character, conveniently named Diane, is a reserved widow who defaults to finding reasons not to have adventures and has never scattered her husband's ashes. Fonda plays Vivian, a successful hotel magnate who has never married. Part One linked Vivian up with Arthur (Don Johnson) and Diane up with Mitchell (Andy Garcia).
Steenburgen plays Carol, a married chef; here her husband Bruce (Craig T. Nelson) has had a heart attack and she's policing his bacon intake. Bergen rounds out the quartet as Sharon, the long-divorced and still single retired federal judge.
Last time around the ladies were reading Fifty Shades of Grey, which rather embarrassingly stirred them up erotically. This time, after a long COVID lockdown, their selection is Paulo Coehlo's The Alchemist, which helps inspire them to go on a trip, a bachelorette party for Vivian, who has at last agreed to marry Arthur. So the four of them tour Italy; first Rome, then Venice, then Tuscany.
You can imagine the results, again directed by Bill Holderman from a script he co-wrote, again, with Erin Simms. The ladies cavort, from montage to montage, making low-hanging-fruit lewd jokes about classical sculptures, or trying on wedding dresses. They get robbed, and the case is handled without much urgency by a venerable and impressively unformed officer of the polizia (played by Seven Beauties himself, Giancarlo Giannini). They flirt with guys, although Sharon being the only fully unattached one, she's the only one that gets to fully cut loose in this way. And through it all, they drink wine. Lots and lots of wine.
Like many other directors, Holderman leans hard on the Italian locations, and the movie looks great. It sounds great, too; the soundtrack has Bette Midler singing "Mambo Italiano" and Italian-language versions of pop hits from The Monkees to Hall and Oates. And it's hard to completely dismiss any movie that features Hugh Quarshie singing "Gloria," in Italian, accompanied by Mary Steenburgen on the accordion.

The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition-London 2018
Every year The Royal Academy stages a Summer Exhibition displaying hundreds of pieces of contemporary art created by its Academy members -all professional artists. But what it also does is invite members of the public to send in their art works anonymously and these are then submitted before a hanging committee headed by a well-known artist. The hundreds selected then go on public display in the Exhibition alongside the serious artists. It is the biggest open exhibition in the world. And so the sheer random breadth of contemporary art works that goes up on the walls every summer is often exciting, unpredictable or simply quite weird. You book in online, turn up, collect your and away you go. And 2018 being the 250th year anniversary of the Show (it has run uninterrupted for 250 years)The Royal Academy apparently wanted to pull out all the stops
And nothing sounded like it could be more fun than an Exhibition organised by Grayson Perry, the famously flamboyant artist who often appears dressed as a kind of Bo-Peep styled shepherdess and is regularly on our TV screens. When I heard he was organising the 2018 show I decided I had to go.
Every year an artist is chosen to create a display for the courtyard in front of the RA Building. This year it was Anish Kapoor and it didnât disappoint. As we turned in off Piccadilly, we were met by a display of massive metal ingots piled high against a backdrop of a concave red fabric sphere suspended from a frame above them. I have to confess I did not understand the title Symphony for a Beloved Daughter, but it made a great impact as we headed inside. The first impression was of lots of colour-the walls everywhere were painted vivid yellow or turquoise. According to Grayson Perry âthe Exhibition was meant to be a joyful celebration of arts - there is a lot of politics, especially in this room, but the main thing for me was for it to be an aesthetic, sensory overload experience".
Well I think he succeeded.
There were 800 or so works by well-known members of the RA including world famous names like Grayson Perry himself, David Hockney, Tracey Emin and Banksy and many other RA artists that I confess I had never come across. Of these, I particularly liked Joana Vasconcelosâ huge sculpture Royal Valkyrie, (a vividly coloured inflatable installation hovering over our heads hung from steel cables and constructed from handmade woollen crochet, felt appliquĂŠs, ornaments and fabric) and also Debbie Lawsonâs carpeted âRed Bearâ. Kate MccGwireâs work âSquallâ featuring a sinuous snaking sculpture constructed in mixed media and pheasant feathers in an antique cabinet was so beautiful . There was humour and irreverence everywhere too. I donât think Grayson Perry took things too seriously. The catalogue with Michael Landyâs Closing Down Sale on the front gave a strong hint of the playful tone because of course virtually everything in the Exhibition is for sale and has a price tag.
I enjoyed the light-hearted wit in works like David Shrigleyâs, Untitled. And I also loved the sheer daft silliness of some of the exhibits. A giant papier-mâchĂŠ garden gnome, an ironing board strangely engulfed by a giant pink blob of clayâŚ.But Chris, by the comedian Joe Lycett was the standout for me - a small misshapen pink head made of air-dry clay, acrylic paint and (allegedly!) a Pringles tube displayed as if by mistake rolled into a corner on the floor of one of the exhibition rooms and carrying a price tag of ÂŁ12,500,000. For obvious reasons its photo was immediately texted to my Dad who is also called ChrisâŚ.
Art takes itself very seriously most of the time and there was plenty to see that was serious-minded, but for me these flashes of fun made this exhibition a whole different experience to the norm. I think Perry summed it up really well: "To play with a whole load of toy box of art for a few days was absolutely the most joyful thing. I celebrate that really." It was definitely an afternoon of fun

Eyes: This is a difficult one for me to start with. From an aesthetic standpoint, I love eyes. I love closeup face shots during photoshoots. When I write, I often use those kinds of photos as inspiration (for both smut and regular fiction). I typically like soft, expressive eyes the most. I donât think I can just pick one for eyes, so I will list several. I like Kim Lip and Olivia Hye both have very expressive eyes in general, which I find quite beautiful. I also find Giselleâs eye shape to be unique--she always looks like she is hiding a secret that only she knows. But on the other hand, I love Soyeonâs eyes. Theyâre nearly cat-like, very sharp, and you can tell how intelligent she is just by looking at them--even when she isnât wearing makeup. Barefaced Soyeon takes up a lot of real estate in my brain for sure.
Face: This isnât an easy decision, and I have to give honorable mentions to Kim Lip and RosĂŠ, who each have an incredibly gorgeous face. But overall, I would say Miyeon. To me, her face is seriously one of the most stunning I have ever seen. Honestly, she looks like someone that could have been a muse to an ancient sculpture. She is certainly classically beautiful, but thereâs also something unique to her appearance that makes her stand out. And her smile makes me melt every time I see it.
Bust: Truthfully, bust isnât something I pay that much attention to. But there is one idol that currently has been grabbing my attention with her bust. And thatâs Shuhua! She really has been confident lately, both in styles and in the way she carries herself. The shot of her in the green dress in NXDE really has been living in my head since the premiere.
Arms: Thereâs one answer that popped into my mind for this one, and it has to be Heejin. My goodness. Intimidating and beautiful. You can really tell how much work she puts in. This isnât a trait I always notice, but itâs impossible to not notice on her.
Midriff: This is difficult, because there are so many good choices for it. But I think I will go with Soyeon, my ult. Lately, sheâs been wearing a lot of outfits that show off her belly, and the only word I have to describe it is⌠well, itâs pretty much perfect. She works extremely hard and it shows.
Thighs: This one is pretty easy for me. Giselle, definitely. I am absolutely a leg appreciator, particularly thighs, and she has some of the nicest Iâve ever seen. She has a wonderful body shape overall, but I do find myself paying particular attention to her legs. Honorable mention to Soojin for this one.
Legs: Like I mentioned before, I definitely really appreciate legs. That means itâs too hard for me to pick one! So Iâll give you a few. Sorry if this is cheating ^__^ First of all, I have to mention Joy. My goodness. That womanâs legs go on for days. And of course, as before, Giselle. Itâs one of her most noticeable features for me. Then thereâs RosĂŠâshe doesnât always show them off, but when she does⌠wow. Itâs extremely noticeable! I could go on about this for days though⌠thereâs a lot of idols with perfectly maintained legs.
Butt: Another difficult one for me. The immediate answer that popped into my mind was Hwasa. I admire Hwasaâs body greatly, and her âIâm a Bâ video does a great job of explaining why. But Jennie has also caught my eye recently, especially in some of her recent video appearances. I think if I had to pick though, I would go with Hwasa.
Side profile: I have two for this one. First, is it cheating if I say Miyeon again? Seriously, I know I said it before, but I genuinely think she is one of the most stunning women on the planet currently. She really fits the word statuesque. Second, Kim Lip. She has a similar air to Miyeonâa kind of otherworldly, ethereal type of beauty. Really, look up Kim Lipâs side profile. Her photos are art.
Overall body: Oh goodness. What a difficult one to end with. My first thought is Soyeonâsheâs my ult, and I love how she can be so small, yet use her body in such a way as to become so absolutely powerful. When she dances and performs, she utilizes her body so perfectly.
My two follow-ups would be Hwasa and Giselle. I have a huge appreciation for long-legged aesthetics, especially someone like Hwasa with a bit of curve to her.
That being said, Soyeon is still my ult, my number 1, and an absolute queen. We stan.
What a fun question! Thank you again for asking. I love answering stuff like this. I have another that Iâll be working on hopefully tomorrow. Feel free to ask more!

Walter and I agreed that he would pick me up from the train station nearby and when I near the vacant parking lot, I can already see him waiting in his truck. He holds up his hand, a sign that he saw me too and I hurry towards the enormous vehicle. I barely see trucks this large here in New York, making me assume he actually brought this with him from Minnesota. Maybe he even moved here with this thing, the trunk stuffed with his belongings.
Though I highly believe this man actually didnât bring a lot of stuff with him. He doesnât seem like the type to be very materialistic.
When I open the door, I canât possibly hide my smile.
Of course I thought about this for awhile (itâs all I thought about the entire class) and debated whether or not this would be a good idea. While this is definitely not a great idea, it doesnât feel weird or scary. I mean, my mom certainly wouldnât approve of this and I think my dad would have a stroke if he found out what I was doing.
Is this how people get murdered? Am I too naive?
I donât think so. I trust Walter. He is a nice man and Iâve been with him alone in his office two times now. That wasnât scary, he isnât giving me bad vibes.
Going to his loft shouldnât be that much different.
âHow were your classes, Penny?â Walter asks.
A scoff leaves my lips. âIt was horrid,â I mumble, placing my backpack in-between my legs. âProfessor Carter really likes hearing himself speak.â
âThat,â he says, starting his car, âis true. I hate that guy.â
I chuckle. âHate is such a strong word,â I tell him. âIâd like to say he is simply hard to like.â
Walter smiles. âOf course.â
I fumble my thumbs as they are placed on my lap, taking in a breath. Iâm really nervous, which is completely unnecessary. I feel safe around Walter, I feel noticed around him. Itâs nice being noticed, especially by someone like Walter.
âI didnât know if you want something,â Walter says, âso I got you some chocolate and cookies. If you donât like that, please tell me. I can make a small detour to the grocery store.â
âNo, chocolate and cookies are perfect.â I run my fingers through my hair, as Walter soars over the roads. His driving style fits him perfectly. He is impatient, quick and breaks abruptly, instead of slowly, a complete one eighty compared to my driving style. âYouâre not gonna kill me, right?â
Walter starts to laugh and itâs the first time I actually see him putting his guard completely down. His eyes are smaller, the little crowfeet appear near them. âOf course not. I would lose my only student with sense.â
I lean back against the seat, as I watch how we get deeper into the city. Iâm usually never in this part of town. I look to the side, admiring Walterâs beautifully sculptured face. The beard kinda hides it, but I know that his face is close to perfection.
âYouâre staring,â he says, his eyes not once leaving the road.
Oh dear, I totally am. How incredibly rude of me. âIâm sorry,â I quickly apologize.
âItâs not a problem. Kinda cute actually.â
âWhat do you mean by that?â
âYou always stare in class,â he says. âWhen things get a little gore, you start to blink really fast, you scrunch up your nose and try to stare at your fingers, but you donât want to be rude and miss something, so you look up again. Only this time youâre squinting and you make a pretty poor attempt of hiding your disgust.â
âWow,â I chuckle. âThatâs specific.â
âNoticing the smallest details is important in my line of work. Tell me what I do during class.â
I swallow as I try to think about everything he does in class. âYou never look at people when you call out their name. It usually takes around a second or two, before you tear your gaze away from whatever youâre looking at. You are quite insulting when it comes to stupid answers.â
âIâm not.â
âYou either scoff or roll your eyes,â I note. âBesides, you always look bored, even when someone makes a good point.â
âThatâs because I am, he retorts.
âTeaching really isnât your thing, is it?â
He snickers. âOh no. You could say I hate it with a passion. But if I do this, I could one day maybe work in the force again. Itâs just a little in between jobs.â
âYou miss it, donât you?â
âI do,â he answers. âI donât think Iâve ever missed something that much.â
âYou miss Minnesota?â
He shakes his head. âI mean, a little of course, but New York is great too.â
âAre you married? Or do you have someone?â I ask.
âNo.â
âWhy not?â
âI havenât met her yet,â he says. âBesides, Iâm picky. You got a boyfriend?â
I canât even stop my laughter. âNo, of course not,â I answer. âThere is no one that likes me anyways.â
âDonât be ridiculous,â he says in a pretty harsh tone. âYouâre a lovely girl and any guy would be lucky to have you as their girlfriend.â
My cheeks burn up. âYou think so?â
âI know so, Penny. Let me tell you this: you are amazing, smart and the guy you end up with is gonna be one lucky man, since youâre probably out of his league anyway.â
He really thinks so?
Walter parks his car in the parking garage underneath the apartment building and he tells me to wait, as he gets out. He walks around the truck and opens the door for me.
âI can open my own door, you know?â
âI know,â he chuckles, gesturing to hand over my bag. âBut I couldnât do it back at the station, so humor me for a second, okay?â
âOf course.â I grab his hand and he helps me out the car. Together we walk towards the elevator and I nervously roll my ankle, as we wait for the elevator to arrive at the right floor.
It abruptly stops and we walk out towards his door. He pushes it open, telling me to go in first.
His loft meets up to the expectations I had. Boring. Nearly empty. Only decorated with the necessities. âRight,â I say. âThis is exactly what I thought it would be.â
Walter hangs his coat over the back of the chair. âIs that so?â
I let the material of my own jacket slide off my shoulders. âMhm, you have very little taste.â
âIâd like to call it minimalistic,â he retorts, as he takes my jacket from me hands. He tells me to sit and relax, while he makes us some tea.
I carefully take place on his couch, looking around me. Thankfully he removed all the eventual crime scene photos, files or anything related to the gory side of police work.
âHere you go.â
âThank you,â I say to Walter as he sits next to me, placing the tea on the coffee table. The couch cushion Iâm sitting on, slightly dips to the right as he takes place. I have to tighten all my non existent muscles to not slide towards him, however I am not very strong, nor fit, so I bump against his side. âSorry,â I say.
âItâs okay. Tell me, what are subjects that you struggle with.â
âEverything,â I admit.
He smiles. âThen I shall help you with everything.â
â â â
My brain hurts from all the things Walter says to me and the way he answers all my questions. Itâs so sweet and considerate of him to literally minimize everything to a level I could understand it. I take off my glasses as I rub my eyes. Walter has placed his arm on the armrest, our bodies closer than Iâve ever been to someone who I thought was attractive.
âThis isnât working,â Walter says, when itâs obvious Iâm not registering anything anymore. âYou need a break.â He places my laptop and papers on the coffee table and stands up. He ushers me to follow him and I nearly run after him, since heâs taking such large strides.
âWhere are we going?â
He slides open the doors that lead to a little balcony. Itâs just as boring as the rest of his place, but the view on the other hand is absolutely lovely. I walk towards the balustrade, holding the cold metal as I look over the city.
âWow,â I say, âthis is so beautiful.â
He smiles as he stands next to me. âIt sure is.â
âIâve never saw the city like this,â I say.
âWhere youâre from originally?â
âMaryland,â I answer. âBut New York is really fun as well. Maybe even more so, if Iâm being honest.â
âIâve never been there,â Walter says, placing his underarms on the balustrade, so weâre around the same height. He looks to the side, at the same time the wind blows. He chuckles, when strands of my hair slap him across the face.
âSorry,â I smile, as I try to contain the wild hairs.
He holds out his hand, pushing back a strand behind my ear. âThatâs okay, Penny. You like it out here?â
âYes, I really do. Itâs nice to take a bit of a breather. Iâm sorry I am not really getting it.â
âNo, donât be silly,â he says, âyouâre doing great. Itâs my teaching skills that are lacking.â
I bite my lip as I take in his entire face. He is so close, just like he was back in the living room. He placed his arm on the backrest of the couch, his body so close near mine, that I could smell his lovely cologne.
âYouâre beautiful,â he softly admits, almost as if he doesnât want me to hear.
âOh,â I whisper, slightly taken aback, âreally?â
âReally. You have your phone with you?â
I pull it out of my back pocket. âYes, why?â
âAllow me to memorize this moment for you.â
Itâs a slightly odd request, but I give him the phone and he takes a few pictures of me. For some reason, I donât feel awkward. Usually I take pictures by myself or I let my mom take one, but thatâs only the case when she wants to make a picture for her friends to show me off.
With Walter behind the camera, Iâm relaxed and not so nervous.
Which is strange. I keep forgetting he is my professor. With his head, he nods me over and I look over his arm to the phone screen. âThey look good,â I say.
âNot just good,â he says. âYou look amazing.â
He hands me back my phone and at the same time, a slightly cold breeze causes me to tense up and shiver a bit. âYou cold?â
âA little,â I admit.
âWait here.â
Walter walks back inside, leaving me be for a little while. I look over the city. The cars, the different type of houses. Dogs barking, young kids laughing and just people having fun in general.
âHere you go,â Walter says, âI got you a sweater and some tea.â
I look over my shoulder, to see him placing two steaming mugs of tea on the tiny table and indeed a thick sweater (one of his own) in his hands. âYouâre really going out of your way for me,â I admit. âThatâs nice.â
He frowns. âNo oneâs ever gone out of their way for you before?â
I shake my head.
âLet me be the first then.â He actually helps me into the sweater and gently pulls out my hairs from the sweater.
I take place on the slightly uncomfortable chair. Itâs a bit windy, but not unpleasant. Especially not when Iâm wearing a sweater this warm.
âWhat are you thinking?â I ask Walter.
He shrugs. âJust something crossed my mind, but I donât want to intrude.â
âYou could never. If someone is intruding, then itâs totally me. I mean, I literally am at your place, because schoolâs too hard for me. Seriously, you can ask me anything you want.â
âWhen did you find out you were placed at the church?â
I wrap my fingers around my mug and say: âMy mom always said that I was a special delivery from the stork. I knew I was adopted, but I never thought more of it. My parents were simply my parents, even though they didnât look like me. One day a kid in my class thought it was stupid I had white parents, when I clearly wasnât, I realized it maybe was a bit weird. So I asked them about it and they told me the entire story.â
âMustâve been hard,â Walter says.
I shrug. âKinda.â
âDoes it bother you to this day? In your day to day life?â
These are very intense questions. He really does want to get to know me better, right? âYou kinda carry it with you all the time,â I say. âOh no, Iâm gonna cry.â I blink my eyes fast, as I try to redirect both my feelings and his attention. âThis is stupid, Iâm sorry.â
âNo, no, no,â he says, in such a soft and caring tone, that it almost makes me cry a little more. When was the last time someone was this caring about me outside my family? âDonât apologize for your feelings.â
It just doesnât match. His uninterested appearance versus this hidden caring nature of his. He leans forward and places his hand on my knee. A simple gesture, enough however to stop my heart from working. âIâll try,â I say, wiping the tears from my cheeks. âI promise.â
â â â
After the well needed break, I was in the right mindset and managed to get a lot of work done. Turns out: Iâm not stupid, Iâm just a bit slow from time to time. Having someone that helps me, gives me a better understanding of it all.
âYou know,â I say, as I pack my stuff in my bag, âyour hair is quite dry and frizzy.â
âIs it?â Walter asks with a chuckle. âYou have some nerves, young lady, to tell me my hair is frizzy after I helped you out.â
âJust want to give you a bit of advice in return,â I snicker.
âWell, since you want to go to cosmetology school so badly, you tell me next week what products I need to use and Iâll be your test subject, how about that?â
He wants to see me again? Or does he mean after school? Or simply through texts?
âReally?â
âOf course, Penny.â
âThank you again for helping me out,â I say. âI know this isnât exactly in your job description.â
âIâm happy to help, if itâs in my job description or not.â He grabs my coat and helps me in it. âYou want a lift?â
I shake my head. âItâs still light outside and I can go by bus. I need to do some groceries anyway.â
âAre you sure?â
âI am sure,â I say. âReally, itâs not a big deal.â
âJust share your location with me, okay? I want to make sure youâre back safe.â
Walter is such a caring and loving man, though he tries to hide it underneath all that grumpiness.
âOkay, will do,â I say, after I put on my shoes. I place my bag on the floor, grab my phone and start sharing my location with him for the next four hours. âWhatâs wrong?â I ask him, when I push my phone in my back pocket and the two of us lock eyes.
âNothing,â he says. âI just really got to know you. That was nice.â
I smile. âIt totally was,â I say. âIâd like to get to know you a bit more next time.â
Next time? Iâm really suggesting a next time?
Walter barely responds to it, only a small cocking of his eyebrow. âNext time,â he says. âYouâll get to know plenty about me.â He takes a step forward, only for me to be able to smell his cologne. Gosh, what does one say right now?
While Iâm contemplating the best topics, Walter seemed to have no issue coming up with something. âYouâre staring again,â he notes.
âNo, Iâm not,â I say to him, way too quickly. âOkay, maybe I was.â
You have to ask me again later on how exactly, but somehow my back is pressed against the wall. Walter places his hand on my cheek, his calloused thumb brushing over my parted lips. I donât know where to look, but my gaze stops at his kissable looking lips.
His body is pressed against mine and two slow seconds passes before I feel his lips on mine.
What is this? Is he truly kissing me? I canât believe this. My first kiss. I hold onto his thick sweater, my fingers wrapping tightly on the fabric, almost solely because my knees start to wobble like crazy. Itâs the first time I felt someoneâs lips on mine. Someoneâs beard scratching my chin. Never before did I feel someoneâs tongue carefully over my bottom lip. He cages me in between his thick arms. He is so much more overpowering, dominant, but boy, is it a role that suits him so well.
Much to my dismay, he pulls back to flash me a tiny smile. âIâve been thinking about doing this for quite some time now today.â
âWhy?â I ask him.
He smiles. âJust because,â he says.
âWell, Iâve been thinking about it too,â I whisper.
âWhat stopped you from doing it?â
âYouâre my professor, Walter.â
He nods. âI know. That shouldâve stopped me,â he admits.
âNo, no,â I say, placing my hands on both sides of his face. âDonât let it stop you. Please donât.â It sounds slightly needy, but I canât help it. Itâs the first time in my entire life I feel this alive. With his understanding, I notice finally the ability for me to figure out who I am as a person. However, those words stay close to my heart. I bite my bottom lip and he interprets it as an invitation and Iâm so thankful he does.
The kiss is less soft than the previous one, far more intense. I donât want to stop kissing him. His lips part from mine, evading his way to my nape to press wet kisses on the delicate skin. My fingers run through his hair. âWalter,â I say and he looks up. I always notice the shift in gazes when he is with me. So much softer, gentle and caring than he is in class or with others. âAre you sure?â
âSure about what?â
âMe?â
A crooked smile appears on his lips. âIâve never been so sure.â
â â â
Once I got home, realization truly hit. I just kissed my professor.
Was it smart? No.
Will I do it again? Probably.
Oh my, Iâm falling for him, arenât I? I had this insanely goofy grin on my face as I sat in the bus, did my groceries and went to my dorm. I bet I looked like a moron, but I couldnât help myself. Walterâs lips on mine felt so good.
Those lips will be all I am going to think about. I take off my coat, only to realize Iâm still wearing his sweater. It smells like him, his wonderful cologne.
Iâm this deep in thoughts and little dreams, that I yelp when I hear a text coming in.
Walter: Youâre home safe, right?
Oh, thatâs right. I was sharing my location with him.
Me: Yes, I just walked in
Walter: Did you lock your door?
Me: Yes
Walter: Okay good
Me: Thanks for your help btw
Walter: Of course, not a problem
Me: I think Iâm gonna go get ready for bed
Walter: Alright, princess
Walter: Good night
