I just learned of a manga that was written in English. Translated to Japanese to be distributed in Japan. And is now being…translated?…back into English. Kind of nutty but I am intrigued.

It’s called A Kingdom of Quartz. Supposedly a bit of dark fantasy surrounding angels and demons? The comic app I use to preorder books says it’s for fans of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Made in Abyss, and Witch Hat Atelier. PMMM and Made in Abyss are too much for me, but I like Witch Hat a lot. So I am in.

A Kingdom of Quartz Volume 1 Review

Comparisons are an artist's nightmare, and I think that sentiment is put on display with A Kingdom of Quartz. After reading this first volume, it's biggest comparison being to Witch Hat Atelier remains confusing and certainly stifles expectations and potential for would-be readers, so let me say this:

A Kingdom of Quartz is a great dark fantasy manga
