Continuation of the story about a friend and her abusive boyfriend
(the beginning is here)
[I think you understand what character inspired me for this outfit. The art at the end of the video - @elea-r]
If the first part of this story I would call the Master/ Stranger protocols, then the second will be called Contact.
My friend and I met and she told me some really disturbing things. There's actually a whole list of scary points there, so sit back and get ready to count the red flags.
They have known each other for 4 months in total and during this time this is what happened:
1. A month after they met, they moved in together. He moved into her apartment.
This is my friend's first relationship where she lives with her partner. She had several relationships before this, but
а) all of them were with girls or with non-binary people. This is her first experience of a relationship with a man;
б) they didn't move in together and even guest visits, when they stayed with each other for several days, began not a month after they began to know each other, but later.
My friend is not inclined to get so close to people so quickly and let them into her territory, especially on a permanent basis.
In the case of this guy, she herself does not understand how it happened. She does not remember that she invited him to live with her, but at the same time, she does not remember that he imposed this decision on her. As she says, everything happened as if by itself in a strange way.
2. He takes up almost all of her free time. He wants to be together all the time. He is jealous and criticizes her friends, her hobbies, her work, and her studies.
At the same time, he continues to meet with his friends and go about his business. But he doesn’t introduce her to his friends and doesn’t really involve her in his life.
3. He is extremely interested in establishing relations with her parents and managed to please them (which is actually quite difficult).
Here, it is worth telling a little more about my friend's parents and her relationship with them.
She has a fairly wealthy family, and her parents have their own business. They are also quite conservative. My friend is an only child, her parents adore her and she loves them, but the relationship between them is often difficult.
They are moderately religious and not particularly thrilled about my friend's non-heterosexuality. But at the same time, they take a position of acceptance, although not one hundred percent approval.
So my friend didn't hide it from them when she met her previous partners. She even introduced some of her parents to them. But, as you understand, she never received approval or parental blessing for these relationships.
And yes, the parents are just waiting for her "to play enough, grow up, and start a normal relationship with the right man" (this is almost a direct quote).
So it's not particularly surprising that her first male partner was greeted with open arms by her parents.
Also, this guy is not so simple, and in addition to his automatic cis-hetero bonus (in the eyes of her parents), he prepared well before meeting them.
As it turned out, he asked my friend quite in detail about her parents, who does what, what they likes, what business they run, what beliefs they adheres to, and right down to quite small details (favorite dog breeds, where and how they like to relax, where they studied, what they are allergic to, etc.) I think he knows less about her than about her parents, honestly.
In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with such interest in your girlfriend's parents, and I am even inclined to take my hat off to such a level of preparation. I do similar preparation if I need to impress someone.
But
The question is always about the goals.
The question is about the motive.
The question is, what is really behind such actions.
I'm sure that in this situation his goals are not good for my friend.
However, he received the full approval of her parents. He practically received a job offer from her father.
They think that he is exactly what their daughter needs. That he is exactly the type of man with whom "any woman will be happy".
After this information, I increased his Master level in my head.
Well, that makes it even more interesting, doesn't it?
4. In addition to the fact that the parents fully approved of the relationship with this guy and offered him a job, they also began to promote the idea of marriage.
My friend never wanted to get married so early. She's not even sure she wants to get married to anyone at all.
But in this situation, she quite unexpectedly found herself in a discussion of plans for a possible wedding, the location of the wedding, the list of honeymoon guests, and so on.
I emphasize: a person who quite consciously did not want to get married in the near future is discussing plans to marry a man she has known for less than six months.
And, as in the case of cohabitation, according to her, she has no sense of control over what is happening; it seems to her that everything is happening by itself, that she is carried along by the flow.
5. Her boyfriend suggests that she take a break from her studies and work, saying that he can provide for her.
In fact, that job offer from her father was fueled by boyfriend's statement that he wanted to provide for his girl, that he was a fan of the "traditional" distribution of roles in the family, but at the moment he did not have a good enough job for it. And her father took the bait.
Considering that her parents pay for her education, my friend's situation is unenviable.
6. The next item is the apartment.
It is considered that this apartment is hers, but in fact, according to the documents, this apartment does not belong to her.
It was bought by her parents and given to her as a coming of age gift, but legally, it belongs to her parents.
And now her parents are extremely interested in her continuing to live with this guy.
I don’t know if it will come to blackmail with the apartment if she decides to break up with him. Maybe I have too pessimistic a view of the world of people that I expect such an act from her parents (an act in the style of "either you live in this apartment with this guy or you don't live in this apartment"). But this guy is already talking about re-registering the apartment to both of them. Of course, he explains this by saying that if the apartment verbally belongs to her, then according to the documents, it should belong to her, but somehow magically “yours” turned into “ours”.
7. The last but the most creepy point as for me.
Children
My friend clearly wasn't planning on having children in the next 10 years. Moreover, she generally defined herself as quite possibly childfree.
Her partner started raising the topic of children practically from the very first day of their acquaintance (really from the first day, I clarified) and she clearly and distinctly made it clear to him that she does not want children, at least in the near future.
Nevertheless, from time to time he started a conversation about children, sometimes as a joke, sometimes he gave examples of some of his friends with children who also did not want children but now have them and are extremely happy.
As you can imagine, he found one hundred percent allies in her parents.
Their first and most serious quarrel arose precisely on this basis when he once again spoke about children. She lost her temper and quite furiously conveyed to him that she did not want children. This was not the topic she wanted to talk about.
He showed incredible resentment, distanced himself from her, and did not get in touch for a long time. My friend was worried, looked for him and tried to contact him. As a result, she was forced to ask him for forgiveness for her "outburst," and he graciously forgave her.
He stopped talking about having a child after that, and my friend breathed a sigh of relief.
Until she missed her period.
Unfortunately, the delay was not accidental; the test showed a positive result.
It happened 2 days after I managed to pass a note to my friend in a cafe. This was the final reason why my friend finally decided to contact me.
According to her, looking at the two strips of test paper, she felt as if she was drowning and suffocating, carried away by a mudflow.
I believe that this is the result of her boyfriend's deliberate actions, that this is reproductive violence, but unfortunately, I have no evidence.
I made a cautious assumption that this was not a coincidence, but I encountered a rather violent reaction from her, and for now, I decided to act more gently.
In any case, she did not tell him about the delay or about the test results and did not intend to do so.
She will solve this problem medically, and I will support her in this situation in every possible way.
Her reluctance to talk about and discuss this problem with her boyfriend is very telling. it's fear and understanding that she won't find support. I pointed this out to her and tried to do it as gently as possible. I expressed the idea that fear and anxiety are definitely not the foundations on which healthy relationships are built.
But this is not a situation where I should push and speak too harshly. Otherwise, I risk pushing her away.
I suggested that she contact a psychologist or psychotherapist to discuss the current situation. The main thing is to find a pro-feminist specialist so as not to receive confirmation of patriarchal and pro-life attitudes from this side as well.
As for the situation in general and the plan of action:
My friend hasn't yet expressed a specific desire to break up with this guy (but we discussed the possibility of breaking up, and this is already huge progress).
At least she already realizes that certain things are happening beyond her control. She is being forced into a development of events that she doesn't want and that she doesn't accept.
Also, when discussing a possible separation from him, she expressed concerns about the pressure her parents were putting on her through her studies and housing.
I see the tactically correct move in this situation as first weakening the support of this guy by her parents. Ideally, completely deprive him of it.
Considering he lied about at least a couple of things when he was creating a favorable image for her parents, there's a lot to work with and where to drive a wedge.
The second point is the task of making his life not as easy as it is now and creating a certain pressure. People under pressure tend to make mistakes more often.
For both points I need more information so I'm currently gathering it. I want to know about this person as much as possible. Tattletale mod is on.
And then we'll play.

I'd love to hear about First Meetings and The Witch in the Woods from that WIP ask game!!
Thanks for the ask! (from this ask game)
First Meetings:
Info:
The first part of the scene is actually already up on tumblr! You can find that >>here. It's (currently) the opening scene for Fallen Breath, a story about a Lawful Good(tm) detective and a probably insane sailor lady investigating the supernatural curse that's sweeping through Santa Juliana. The idea already existed but it got solidified and made A Thing by Inklings Challenge 2022.
So this scene would be the first time they met, and also the hook for the mystery (Julia has info and she wants Crispin's help because he's not affiliated with the Detective's Guild, unlike most private investigators).
Snippet (this is from the document, after the scene on tumblr):
The day drew to a close, the black darkness of night smothering everything until the streetlights struggled to stay alight. Further toward the middle of Santa Juliana, loud peals from the belltower marked the time. 1800hs. Crispin shrugged. Maybe she’d had to stay overnight in the hospital. Turning up the collar of his coat and shoving his hat over his mop of red-gold curls—wondering wistfully if maybe the darkness meant it’d be socially acceptable to not wear a hat—he went out to call a cab for Ms. Hallifax, then began locking up. It didn’t take long. For all that the monstrous and skeletal building of bronze and glass was large and sprawling, there weren’t many rooms and, consequently, not many doors. Most of them were on the second story, anyway, and there were only two stairways to that. Clicking the locking mechanism closed and shoving the fold-key into his pocket, he thought for the twentieth time that week that it was time he got to cleaning the multitude of windows. Sometimes he regretted not having thought about that when he bought the place. Maybe that had been why it was so cheap; either that or the fact that it was constantly falling apart.
The Witch in the Woods:
Info:
This is a slightly different kind of project, since it's an AU of my ocs, but also it's canon. It gets complicated but (spoilers) basically a thing happens where reality gets fragmented and as a result a bunch of AUs happen with different versions of and different storylines for the four core Rifters (Kathryn, Benn, Lyn, and Zo).
In this AU, the "Assassin AU," it takes place in a more medieval fantasy setting. Benn and Kathryn didn't come in and shut down the assassin program run by the government (well, its equivalent in this world), so Zo is never rescued out of that. Benn has disappeared, Kathryn is hiding in the woods because she's become bitter, and Lyn never gets friends who care about her and take care of her, so she's just fully letting the depression win.
The story for this timeline gets kickstarted when Zo is sent to assassinate Lyn (who, in every universe, knows far too much), and for the first time comes face to face with someone who *wants* him to kill them. This is too weird and intriguing and Wrong, so he refuses to kill her (to her frustration). Instead, he goes rogue and starts figuring out why she's supposed to be dead, dragging her along for the ride until she learns that life is worth living, and he learns to have a moral compass. They also meet Kathryn and Benn along the way :)
This scene takes place when Zo goes back to his "guild," expecting to find help after his clients double-crossed him, only to find out that, no, yeah, his guild also wants Lyn to be dead. His mentor tries to make it a lesson in "don't get attached to people--you're an assassin so you're supposed to be Smarter Than That," but Zo has gotten a Friend now and doesn't fall for it. They make it out, barely, but Lyn is mortally wounded, and they need help, now. So there's this borderline eldritch witch in the nearby woods that his guild has always feared and avoided, but like, he's left them, so, uh, maybe it could be a good idea to ask her for help.
Snippet:
“Go.” Lyn waved a weak hand at him. “I’ll be here when you get back.” He set his jaw, curling his fingers around one of his knives, and set out deeper into the woods. It was darker, more silent than ever, the tree trunks crowded closer, the roots more knobbed and scattered under foot, making walking more difficult and uncomfortable. But he wasn’t going far, anyway. He unsheathed the oak-wood dagger he’d swiped on his way out of the castle--polished, worn, carved with letters he couldn’t read. He knew what they said, though. It was the title of the person he was summoning, and he remembered it clearly; it had been the day Julian had told him to never go into the woods. Fitting, then, that it'd be one of the first places he went after cutting ties. On one hand, the fact that he had stolen a magic artifact from the castle meant that [people from the castle] would definitely be after him, but on the other, it wasn’t like they were going leave him or Lyn alone anyway. He hadn’t told Lyn what he was planning to do, and unease churned in his gut. No matter which legend held truth, this was probably a stupid move. It wasn’t like he had anything to offer in return, and he was the last person who’d be able to appeal to someone’s humanity. Not that he’d really tried yet, but there was also the doubt as to whether or not whatever was here was human. This was a fool’s hope, certainly. But desperation had certainly made a fool of him.
(and one more because I couldn't resist)
The girl tilted her head, cloak fluttering about her in a wind he didn’t feel. “And why do you think I will do what you ask? Last I heard, the rumors were that I was a monster.” “Because those aren’t the only legends, are they?” He hoped Lyn was right. “At least that’s what she believes. That the old tales of a being who traveled throughout the land, in this region specifically, and gave aid to those who needed it.” “Oh?” Her eyes narrowed. “Why is that me?” “I… don’t know exactly.” He bit back his growing frustration with an effort. “Something about the legends ceasing around the time you showed up here, or some of the characteristics being the same. It’s not really my area of expertise.” “No, it wouldn’t be,” she said thoughtfully. She didn't sound judgmental, but, considering her earlier vague remarks about “Castle people,” Zo felt his efforts to check his irritation failing rapidly. “So what are you going to do?” Zo asked. “Avoid history repeating itself,” she said. The cloak fluttered a little more, and she vanished.

Beyond the Bay chapter 11: Mystery thief!
Summary - Things go missing out of Donatello lab and everyone wonders who’s to blame
Tags: @brightlotusmoon @selfindulgenz @digitl-art-monstr @ilo-artistry
Content warning: Swearing
“We have a problem.” Donatello said bluntly as he came into the living room, right up to Donnie and Leo, “You’re not going home any time soon.”
“What?” Leo’s beak crinkled, more out of confusion than any concern.
With a condescending smile on his face, Donatello pulled the M-shaped artifact from his pocket and slammed it down on the table in front of the two box turtles. The mystic artifact was gray and cold with no hint of the colorful, almost living veins that had once crossed it.
“It’s dead.” Donatello deadpanned, his voice a viper’s, “Cold, used up, and empty, just like your world will be. Now, pray-tell, why would that be when this liiiiittle artifact should have had enough juice for two trips, here and back?”
Leo and Donnie stared down at the artifact with furred eyeridges, frowns deepening as both naturally reached a hand out to touch the stone-cold metal.
“I don’t understand…” Leo said softly, shaking his head.
“I bet you don’t.” Donatello flashed his teeth, “See, I know my calculations aren’t off, and just to be sure, I double checked it. So that means one of you lovely fellows have made a major oopsie daisy and wasted both trips. We know you had to use one to get here, and I also know the second didn't just up and walk away. So what happened to it?”
There was silence between the Splinterson brothers. Then, “MIKEY!”
Mikey’s head appeared in the doorway. Then, slightly below, popped Leonardo’s, and slightly above popped Raph.
“I didn't do it.” Mikey said immediately, quickly followed by, “What is it that I didn't do?”
Mikey, Raph, and Leonardo all flooded into the room; Leonardo was stretching out his muscles, still dressed in sleep wear, looking as if he hasn’t slept a wink. Raph was coated in a heavy layer of fresh sweat from his waking workout and Mikey seemed just happy to be alive. Leonardo’s smile turned into a curious frown as he poked at the artifact on the table.
“You look well rested…” Donnie commented, looking over Mikey with an unreadable expression; his younger brother seemed completely relaxed, and at first glance could almost be normal. His right arm was still slumped a little lower than the left, tucked to his body as if incredibly tender, but his muscles weren’t so pronounced anymore. Donnie made a mental note to palpate the muscles when he got a chance.
“Yeah, I guess.” Mikey shrugged, “What’s up?”
“You tell us.” Leo stood up, taking the medallion in his hands and showing it to Mikey, “What did you do?”
Mikey stared, his eyes unfocused and lips pressed tightly together. “I’m not following.”
“Donatello here says that you messed with the artifact.”
“Those are not the words I said, no.” Donatello interrupted from the background.
“You said that someone had opened another rift.”
“Yeah, I didn't say it was Mikey though.” Donatello muttered bitterly.
“Well someone did it.” Leo’s confusion had turned to agitation.
“It wasn’t me bro!” Mikey threw his hands up in surrender, trying to hide a wince as he pulled the sore muscles.
When Leo looked next at Raph, the bigger mutant had much the same reaction. “Now don’t you be lookin’ at me, you know I ain’t did it!”
“Well it wasn’t me or Donnie!” Leo declared, motioning to the tallest brother. “So one of you is clearly lying.”
“Dude, what’s the big deal?” Leonardo asked as he leaned ever so casually against the wall, arms crossed and hat lopsided on his head.
“Without that artifact, we can’t go home.” Leo explained slowly as if talking to a young child.
“You’re talking to the turtle who had a mystic odachi! I could just make you a new rift, no big deal, same way we made the old one! With my magic! No reason to get at each other's throats.”
Donatello bullied his way to the front of the group so he was practically nose to nose with the amused Leonardo, who was still smiling. “Where is your odachi, by the way?”
“It’s in Mikey’s room where I left it; you know I can’t sleep without it.”
Donatello moved a little closer so his nose actually touched against Leonardo’s. “Really?”
“Yes.” Leonardo said with all the confidence in the world.
“Then come along everyone!” Donatello started to wave his arms around, forcing all of the turtles out of the room in a single file line, “We’re going on a little field trip! Come on, come on!”
Donatello ushered everyone out, ignoring any resistance they offered. Off they went to Michelangelo’s room, where the blankets that had warmed the Hamato brothers were folded and neatly tucked away in a corner. Mikey whistled at the sight of Mikey’s racecar.
“DUUUDES!” Mikey gasped, “I so need to get me one of those!”
“Nardo, if you would be as so kind to point to us the whereabouts of your odachi, I’m sure we’d all appreciate it.” Donatello bowed to Leonardo and motioned him forward.
“I will.” Leonardo said sharply, walking across the room with a powerful strut and reaching to grab at thin air without looking. When his hand met nothing, it was like a light went out in his eyes. His attention snapped to the space, then scanned across the entire room, and then he dropped on his hands and knees in a desperate scramble. “It— it’s not here!”
“Oh really?” Donatello feigned dramatic shock, “Well, where could it be?”
“Cut it with the sarcasm, Donald. Mikey probably just moved it when he cleaned.” Leonardo tried to reason, but the beads of sweat on his forehead betrayed him.
“Let’s go ask him then, shall we?” Donatello flashed his teeth.
“You know what? We shall!”
They located Michelangelo quickly and asked him about it.
“I didn't touch your odachi.” Michelangelo said, “And I definitely wouldn’t do it without telling you! What do you take me for?”
Leonardo was speechless, unable to do anything but gawk with eyes that were growing wider and more terrified by the moment.
“I’m sure you just misplaced it Leo.” Michelangelo assured with a gentle pat to his brother's shoulder before skipping away, humming happily all the while.
“My odachi…” Leonardo whimpered, slumped and unblinking as he stared out at nothing.
“Ready to admit something’s wrong now?” Donatello asked, the snark leaving his voice to be replaced with nothing but a tired energy.
“How did you know his odachi was missing?” Donnie asked, leaning close to his counterpart.
“Because I checked, genius.” Donatello pinched the bridge of his nose, “The minute I realized something was wrong with the artifact, I checked for Leonardo’s odachi, and when I couldn’t find that, I checked my lab, and someone’s been poking around in it.”
“Oh no.” Donnie sucked in a gasp; Raph hissed through his teeth and shook his head while Leo and Mikey shared an uneasy glance. “Nothing’s broken, is it?”
“No; I’d be busting some shells if it were.” Donatello said, “But our mysterious goldilocks moved my stuff around and decided that any and all mystic rifters were ‘just right’. Anything I could have used to create a controlled black hole to your world? Gone.”
Leo felt cold, breathing becoming more of a pained chore with each passing moment. Donatello’s words seemed to fade away, his ears tuning them out in favor of a powerful, relentless humming.
“So either one of you four have been going through my drawers with your grubby little sewer hands, touching my stuff, or someone snuck in here with their grubby little sewer hands, snuck right past nine expertly trained ninjas, and stole from me. I don’t like either of those options.”
“They took my odachi…” Leonardo said, still not paying attention.
“Does that mean we’re stuck here?” Mikey frowned as he looked to Donnie.
Donnie shook his head and sighed. “Fraid so, Mike…”
Mikey tried not to make his happiness too obvious, but his smile was one thing he couldn’t hide. Donatello was focused on Mikey in particular and, when the turtle seemed excited at the thought of being trapped, the softshell narrowed his eyes.
“Wait, don’t you have cameras or some shit?” Raph asked, his expression concerned and almost soft.
“Yes I do, dear Raphael, and I have already reviewed them. And since all four of you are here, and I know who the thief is, I wanted to give them the chance to fess up and save themself some honor. So?”
Donatello looked out expectantly over all four of the Splinterson brothers. The four of them were shoulder to shoulder with each other, none of them with the confidence to look the snappy softshell in the eye; instead, they sought other things to focus on, be it the ground or the ceiling or something in between. Each of them had their own anxious little tics, some of them shifting their weight while others cleared their throat or rubbed their arm or bit their lips. When they started to realize that the others weren’t saying anything, they looked around at each other, trying to read the expressions of each of their brothers.
Donatello sighed and shook his head. “Great. Just great.” He started to walk away.
“Wait!” Leo raised a hand to call after Donatello, “Aren’t you gonna tell us who it is?” His mind was still focused on Mikey as the main suspect.
“No.” Donatello sighed, “I don’t know who it is. My cameras are all broken. Just thought I’d try to scare the perpetrator into admitting it.”
“Where are you going?” Leo asked when Donatello kept leaving.
“To make a few calls.” Donatello said, turning to face the group while continuing to moonwalk backward, “Gotta find you a way home somehow. If you can’t home-make a portal, store bought is fine!”
“My odachi…” Leonardo was on his knees, “My odachi my odachi my odachi…”
“Dudes, I think he’s broken.” Mikey leaned over to whisper to his brothers.
“Mikey, enough is enough.” Leo said, grabbing Mikey harshly by the shoulders to make the box turtle look at him, “The joke’s over, and it was never funny. What did you do with Donnie’s stuff?”
“Dude, I didn't touch any of it!” Mikey insisted, “I swear!”
“I’m finding it hard to believe you.” Leo said in a low tone. “If I find out you’re lying to me…”
“I’m not!”
“Fine.” Leo crossed his arms as he sat down. “Then we can just sit here and wait until one of your fesses up or until Donatello returns.”
Three groaning complaints came from three younger brothers, but Leo didn't falter in his stance. An hour passed in silence and growing resentment between the family before Donatello returned.
“What news, Donatello?” Leo rised to greet the softshell.
“Fuck off, will you? I’m getting there.”
Leo physically recoiled at the sharp tone, sitting back down to give the other mutant space. Satisfied that he had properly put the box turtle in his shell, Donatello let himself smile.
“Good news. I asked around, made a few calls, and I think I know where we can get a brand new rifter! It might take a bit of tinkering to get it juiced enough to take you home, but should be doable.”
“Great— that’s great news, right Leo?” Donnie said optimistically, appealing to Leo.
“Yeah.” Leo sighed and nodded. “Right. This little setback just gives us a chance to prepare, right guys? Those dinosaurs won’t be able to catch us off guard again.”
“Wonderful. Get up, Leon.” Donatello smacked his brother on the back of the head to call Leonardo’s attention back to the task at hand. “Raphael and Michael are already waiting for us.”
Leonardo shook his head, his brain rattling back into focus. “Wait— If they're coming, whose watching dad?”
“Other-splinter.” Donatello shrugged, “Now grab your spare odachi and the rest of the peanut gallery, we’re going.”
“I don’t think you’re using that slang right.” Leonardo muttered bitterly.
“Wait, now?” Raph asked, leaning forward with owl-like eyes.
“Well I’m not doing it tomorrow.” Donatello scoffed, “Tomorrow's karaoke night! I’m gonna get razzle dazzled!”
Donatello stuck a dramatic pose, dragging his arm across his head as if pulling back hair despite his baldness. Looks were exchanged between the Splinterson’s, frowns and furrowed eyeridges.
“But… the sun's out.” Donnie said slowly, pointing upward, “It’s only four.”
Donatello scoffed and shook his head. “Donald, Donald, Donald. Where we’re going, we don’t need shadows! Now come along, don’t dilly dally!”
At Donatello’s swirling hand motion and beaconing wave, Leonardo followed after his brother. Leo shrugged and followed after the softshell, the rest of his brothers following suit.
“If I didn't know any better, I’d say bossy softy over there was the leader.” Raph muttered to Donnie, who gave an amused snort and nodded.
Leo looked back to order silence among his brothers and witnessed Mikey following at the back of the group. The leader pushed his way through and put a hand to Mikey’s plastron to press him back.
“Michelangelo, you’re staying here.”
“What?” Mikey scoffed, pulling back as if Leo has physically struck him.
“You’re not coming with us.” Leo said, “You’re staying here.”
“But—” Mikey ran forward, trying to push past Leo to join the rest of their brothers; he didn't get far before Leo shoved him back. “Come on man!”
“You’re staying here and that’s an order.” Leo said, this time with more force. His voice softened just for a moment before saying, “Sorry Mikey.”
Mikey made no further attempts to follow as his brothers left him alone.
