in the swap au, wakaba lives and akechi has a confidant with her. the only problem is it's with her shadow and not the actual wakaba.

you see, i had to do some equivalent exchange and sacrifice sojiro in order for wakaba to live. it's currently too dangerous for akechi to be near the real wakaba right now because she may have quit working for shido, but she's too closely monitored not only by his agents but by her own daughter as well. if akechi were to contact her in the real world, a target would be put on his back. good thing he encountered her shadow first.

he stumbled upon the shadow completely by chance. it behaved differently from other shadows. much more like palace rulers. probably because she was on the cusp of developing one. the two only talked, akechi on guard in case she attacked and shadow wakaba just stays in her corner. they strike up a deal: in exchange for limited information of cognitive pscience (because shido would know when the phantom thieves know too much), he keeps her company and stop her from developing a palace by reminding her of reasons why she the real wakaba shouldn't give into her twisted desires.

her rank 10 would be changing her heart and sending her back to the real wakaba. after getting the final rank, if akechi goes to leblanc, the real wakaba would be waiting and give him a thank you note and a free meal. she'd also offer help during the whole "pretending the black masks actually killed him" thing.

One of the funniest parts of the Minecraft Crows AU, worldbuilding, whatever the heck….. it’s the fact that it’s Phil who’s writing each of the entries.

Because you know he learned most of these things through experience. Especially the more concerning things.

How else would he know about how Deep Dark crows hunt??? He’s been attacked by them and nearly killed multiple times.

Nether Wastes, gee Phil- how do you know they get that hot when they get pissed??? Because they’ve singed this poor man’s clothes and set him on fire more times than he can count. He’s also splashed some with water accidentally, watched the crows get hurt & upset, and then had to apologize profusely because he felt bad.

Gee, how does Phil know about the End crows being little spoon thieves?? They steal his shit. Constantly.

With the Mushroom crows, just imagine Phil getting bombarded by a bunch of happy corvids who love him, only to have a bunch of extremely dangerous and poisonous mushrooms piled into his arms. He can’t get rid of them now- they’re gifts! Because he’s their favorite person!!!!

Picture Phil hunkering down in the bushes trying not to be seen as he’s scribbling down notes. He stays here and watches these birds for hOURS, usually until they notice him or until the rest of his flock finds him and bothers him into going somewhere else.

He goes into the Nether, not with weapons and tools, but with scissors and glitter glue. The piglins are extremely confused.

Just remember, everything in the Minecraft Crow “field guides” are things Phil learned through experience……

So for the Western au I keep needlessly babbling about I thought I might post some shit about it here.

First the “canon” is actually my gf’s D&D campaign, that’s where the characters come from. 

Arte in “canon” is a tiefling necromancer so I made them an undertaker/necromancer in a little town of Nowhere. 

They have a flock of undead crows that they’re telepathically linked to through a crow skull they wear around their neck. The crows are a collective consciousness named Felix.

At night they are a bandit that robs the rich and runs assassinations.

They live at the edge of town in a little house that has a stream behind it and oddly green grass and a live tree for living in basically what is a desert. 

They are fuckin swol under their clothing. They build coffins and dig graves so they have to be.

They have a horse that is a sweetheart, his name is Thunder and he does anything and everything Arte wants him to (and is familiar with friends horses as well).

There is access to an abandoned mine system which houses the thieves guild in their root cellar.

Okay, since the campaign never got past the first arc this AU only goes as far as that so there’s not really much. But what worst possible selves I imagined the members of Bad Company being are this;

Nymera: Throughout the journey to escort the diplomat to a foreign king to discuss politics and try to prevent a war between the two countries from forming, all the conflicts that she and the others been through and the death left in their wake and how easy it was got her thinking, ‘Why did I spend those three years feeling awful about what I did?’ and that line of thinking leads her to start embracing the direction Crow had taken the Flock (from being a home for orphan to a den of thieves and assassins). Still following her plan to destroy the Flock and Crow for sending her friend to his death. And when it’s revealed that the mission’s true purpose was to deliver the diplomat to the king to complete a transaction, Nymera’s far less torn up and conflicted about taking a life and ready to have the country go through another loss of a ruler.

Mireya: In a constant battle with herself to try to be good, but always ending up making things worse, she chooses to give up trying to do good and continue with her original plan to burn her home village to the ground for banishing her for an accidental death and attempt to kill her village’s lesser dragon god. Rejecting the wisdom and advice of a goliath druid who communed with said dragon god and made him to fall by her fire, the first step in erasing the god from the world. David: [he’s literally the most enigmatic member of the group and his player had figured out more of his backstory after the campaign was dropped. So I don’t really have anything good for his bad end.]  Thavian: Coming to terms that he has blackout rages, rather than find a way to get rid of them or make them manageable, he leans into it. Wanting to figure out how to tap into it instead of having something else trigger it and once harnessed the line separating good and evil become blurred as the rage is directed to those that are against Bahamut’s ideals, not realizing that somewhere down the line he’s been abandoned by the dragon god.

There was another member of the party, but I’m not including him since his player pretty much already gave him a bad end. Can’t make it any worse.

Also when the party has the diplomat stolen from them, they don't get him back because they like him (maybe they do, who knows), they go through the trouble of getting them back because they don't like to be made fools of. After they get the diplomat back and kill the king, they go after the diplomat's father who sold him to the king.

i am of the belief that mamakechi absolutely loved akechi with all her heart and would never leave him unless something made her.

in a crow and his flock of thieves, she lives. goro is very close with him mama, especially since That Day. she's been doing everything she can to make sure he doesn't grow up to be Him and she's been doing a pretty damn good job at it. she's been giving him affirmations whenever he feels like he's becoming like Him, encouraging him to stand up for others, making sure he grows up to respect others, and, most importantly, never teaching him about his father.

never once has His name come out of her mouth ever since they were born. and it never will come out of her mouth. if there's anything He thrived on, it was the attention on Him. whether it was actual attention or even Him on someone's mind, it gave him power. she decided to take what power He had over her and throw it away. it was sweet revenge against Him. her children would never turn out like Him, not under her watch.

akechi is closer than ever to his father, although he doesn't know that nor does he care. he's had multiple chances to learn about Him throughout his life but mama said that giving Him attention was giving Him power, so he won't give Him power. simple as that.

i do want to go in order of how they joined the thieves, but unfortunately yuuki is next on the list and i can't think of anyone for him. thankfully hifumi is after shiho which gives me time to think but also it's hard when i have no idea where to start for her. if anyone has any suggestions for them, i'm all ears at this point (´。＿。｀)

double au time

i like redesigning characters so here are some described akechi redesigns for two aus. will i ever do art for them? once i get used to using a drawing tablet again.

a crow and his flock of thieves:

akechi is still the the same canon height (5'10" or 178 cm), he's just hunched over like joker is to make himself seem smaller. his hair is longer, i'd say quarter-back length, and messier with curls. he doesn't wear glasses like joker does, he lets his hair do the job. key parts of his design are a locket that's usually hidden under his clothes and his iconic gloves. for his summer casual clothes, he wears a t-shirt with a blue and pink button up and loose fitting jeans. during the winter he wears a turtleneck with a shirt over it, a hoodie, and more loose fitting jeans. well, before he has to go into hiding.

for physical appearance, his hair is also longer but not as long as the other one. he dyes his hair the colors of wonderlands x showtime after the main story's conflict is settled and even dyes some streaks blond with peach ends to match the tenmas. debating on if he should have glasses or not. his ears are pierced and he wears the earrings the tenmas gave him when he officially got adopted. a locket that has a photo of his mother is always around his neck.

he freed himself of the grandpa clothes in this universe! thank the gods! his casual clothes consist of a thin light blue turtleneck with a baggy light pink shirt over it. his pants are baggy and he has a chain with multiple keychains on it from his friends. he continues to wear the black gloves. the shirt might have a design on it but i don't know yet.

his unit/performance clothes look very much like the 'welcome to the black parade' uniforms for the music video but with a vkei twist. that's really all i can use to describe it other than also having goggles sitting on his head. he does wear some makeup to sell a vampire look by using a bloody lip tint and heavy eye makeup. he looks like the troupe's intimidating bodyguard. he carries around a folder made to look like a book which has all of the scripts he's written.

and my first non reblog post of an au is my p5r swap au fanfic link. it is set to where you have to be logged in to view it because ai does comb through ao3, fyi. i'm not taking any chances.

anyways, this is just an out of order oneshot collection where i expand upon this au and experiment with my writing a bit. since this au is still developing, one thing i wrote in one oneshot can be changed in another.

basic gist of the au is the phantom thieves are now the black masks. akechi, shiho, mishima, hifumi, sumire, and an oc are the phantom thieves instead. akechi leads the phantom thieves and many things change. different velvet room, different attendants, different confidants, plus things like mamakechi and kasumi living. this takes place in the royal timeline, as you all can tell.
