A Cat in Paris (2010)
Sometimes, the Academy Awards make it too obvious they'll just nominate any decently budgeted animated film. Treasure Planet? Brother Bear? The Croods? A Cat in Paris is the exception. It didn’t win and doesn’t quite have the emotional depth necessary for it to have been worthy of that shiny trophy but this is a lovingly-made, tense and extremely stylish action/comedy.
In Paris, Zoé (voiced by Oriane Zani) watches her pet cat Dino leave every night through the window. No one could suspect the feline spends its nights with Nico (Bruno Salomone), a cat burglar. One night, his path crosses that of crime boss Victor Costa (Jean Benguigui).
Right away, you’ll notice the film's outstanding character designs, shading, color palette, and art style. While not all 3D animated movies look exactly the same, there are few you could point to and say “I can clearly see who worked as the art director on this one”. Every frame of Une Vie de Chat/A Cat in Paris comes from Jean-Loup Felicioli. Don't know who that is? That's fine. It just means you're seeing something new. Even before we get into the action or anything else, it’s a joy to just sit back and look at the film. The way faces look when they turn sideways, the proportions of the characters, the angles of the floor patterns, which details are preserved and which are omitted, etc. It all stands out to make a unique vision.
Clocking in at a mere 65 minutes, this is a fast-paced story. The bulk of it takes place in one night when Zoé’s police superintendent mom, Jeanne (Dominique Blanc), organizes the city’s police force to secure the Colossus of Nairobi statue. She knows Victor Costa will try to steal it and that he’s responsible for the death of her husband so it’s extra important that she get him. As Costa and his bumbling henchmen try to organize, all of the separate plot threads converge. There’s a lot of running and dodging as people try to get away from the police, try to warn the authorities about what’s going to happen or try to prevent people from getting to the police. The score by Serge Besset helps amplify the intensity.
Despite several characters' murderous intentions, this is not a heavy story. You get a lot of laughs from Costa’s goons and from Dino as well - he’s got a knack for jumping on people’s faces at the right time. My favorite gag concerns a yappy dog who annoys its owner whenever Dino passes by. Movie fans will also have fun with a couple of references to gangster/crime movies, like Reservoir Dogs and Goodfellas but what I enjoyed most was the way the animated medium is used. There’s a scene set in complete darkness where Nico has to sneak by some people and it’s brilliantly done. There aren’t any colours so it doesn’t quite encompass all of the film’s best qualities, but it’s close.
Fans of animation should make the effort to check out A Cat in Paris. It’s short so you won’t be investing too much time, you’ll be entertained all the way through and the art design/animation is inspirational. It’s light but that’s perfectly fine. This just makes this the kind of movie you pop in when all you want is something entertaining. (Original French version, On DVD, April 23, 2021)

♡ 2010sbunny’s Guide
To Mcbling
Brands♡
PT. 1/?
All the mcbling babes are known for their hot and fabulous fashion style. From flare yoga pants to a hot pink tracksuit, mcbling fashion is a big staple in fashion history. Of course you don’t have to have name brand clothes to be a mcbling babe, but if you have the money and want some name brand clothing, by all means buy it! Don’t forget you may also run across some of these brands while you thrift!
Juicy Couture-
Founded in 1997, Juicy Couture is a staple fashion brand in the mcbling scene. Tracksuits in all different colors, daydreamer bags, and several different slogan tees are what Juicy Couture is mostly known for. Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton were two icons who were known for their love for Juicy Couture 💋! Juicy has its own website but please keep in mind that their clothing style and bags have had a major change (they were modernized 🥲). You can also find their modern bags and clothing in stores like Ross and Burlington! If you want to find vintage Juicy, I recommend you look on online secondhand shops like Depop, eBay, Vinted, etc!! It’s kind of hard to stumble across Juicy in in-person thrift stores but it’s possible!! (I still hope to stumble across it someday 🙏)
PINK-
PINK by Victorias Secret is Victorias Secret’s clothing line. It’s mainly known for its beautiful fold over yoga pants. The designs on the yoga pants range from animal print to rhinestone galore 💋. They brought some fold over yoga pants back, but nothing beats the original designs. You can find the originals on online secondhand shops or in-person thrift stores. I personally have gotten mine from Plato’s Closet, but keep in mind that Plato’s Closet is lowkey expensive for it being a thrift store 😭! PINK also had very cute short sleeve and long sleeve shirts that many mcbling babes cut to make off the shoulder tops! If you’re a hoodie typa gal, I recommend you buy their hoodies as well because they definitely were and continue to be the bomb.com 💋. PINK’s sweatpants were also very cute and comfortable! If you would like to buy yoga pants from the designs Victorias Secret brought back, you can find them in store or on their website. Here’s the link dolls 💋🩷:
Baby Phat-
Baby Phat was made by Kimora Lee Simmons (a true fashion icon). Kimora’s fashion shows were very iconic, and will always be remembered. Her fashion line gives more of a 90s-2000s vibe, but her jeans can spice up your mcbling look 💋. Her bottoms are super cute, and always have the iconic cat logo. Her puffer jackets are also a staple piece, and you can especially wear them in the winter for an ice princess look! You can find her pieces on online secondhand shops and you may find them in the thrift if you look hard enough!! (I’m talking even in the cracks of the Jeans section). Her bags are very cute as well, but if you’re going more for a mcbling-style bag, I recommend juicy couture or any other mcbling bags. The Baby Phat online store is currently still a work in progress, but you may still receive emails and a reminder when it’s done!
Miss Me-
Following the mention of jeans, Miss Me jeans are a brand of jeans that were very popular then and honestly still are now. Their rhinestoned designs on the back pockets are TO DIEEEE FOR. They come in all different cuts, fits, and rises (low rise, mid rise, high rise). You can find many Miss Me jeans at Buckle (either in store or online), but be aware that they are highly expensive (over $100 for ONE pair). You may find a pair in an in-person thrift store but they are pretty hard to find. Don’t let that stop you though, as you may find a pair or more the next time you go thrifting. Many 2010s celebrities wore Miss Me jeans and many mcbling babes wore them as well. If you wanna shop for Miss Me jeans that are less expensive, you can look for them on eBay, Mercari, Depop, etc.! The 2nd pic of the Miss Me’s is by my jwoww @brattygalfriend 💋. If you would like to buy some from Buckle, here’s the link 💋:
Ed Hardy-
Ed Hardy is known mainly for its bags, hats, shirts, and jeans. Kim K rocked Ed Hardy A LOTTTTT during the mcbling era. Ed Hardy is still around and unlike a lot of other brands, has stayed true with their designs 💋. You can find Ed Hardy is places like Burlington, Ross, maybe even Marshalls! Ed Hardy has its own online store where it’s prices aren’t too pricey (honestly depends on your price range). If you would like you can of course buy Ed Hardy pieces from online secondhand shops (I KNOWWWW IVE MENTIONED THIS A LOT), or you can find them in in-person thrift stores. I honestly think the Ed Hardy brand will live on 4eva 💋.
End Notes-
Thank you so much for reading if you did 🩷. This was my first ever long blog so I hope you liked it 🤭. I decided to make this a series obvi because I <3 mcbling fashion and I would love to showcase a ton of different mcbling brands. If anyone has any suggestions on which brands I should feature next please lemme know dolls 🙏. Please make sure to stay hydrated, rested, and full ♡!
PS: Pls give credit if u use!!
Remember this is YOUR world
and we’re all just living in it,

Cancer Girls: Baby Voice Edition
I've noticed a pattern with many female celebrities who are known for their "baby voice" and I thought I'd make a post about it. Since Mercury is what affects our voice and style of speech the most, I'll be looking at Mercury placements along with big 3.
Obviously not everyone on this list has a natural baby voice, in fact I'd say the majority of them speak in a very affected pseudo baby voice for which they've become known. I had previously observed how Cancer rashi women do this THE most but here are more examples.
Marilyn Monroe
The OG Ingenue who was known for her breathy baby voice. She has Rohini Sun & Mercury along with Ashlesha Rising
youtube
2. Pamela Anderson
She has Ardra Sun, Punarvasu Mercury and Mrigashira Rising
youtube
3. Paris Hilton
She has a Pushya Moon and is known for her fake baby voice which her mother claimed she learned from her.
youtube
4. Drew Barrymore
She is Punarvasu moon & Mrigashira Rising
Many have noted that a lot of famous Punarvasus have a slightly ditzy way of speaking/demeanour. Almost all Mrigashiras have a very hyper, enthusiastic, kind of frantic and restless way of being and talking. They actually embody "golden retriever energy". I think the combination of these two nakshatras results in Drew's childlike enthusiasm and kind of frantic manic way of speaking and behaving. A lot of people think she's weird 😭but it's just her nature, even Pamela Anderson who shares similar placements has a similar demeanour.
youtube
5. Wonyoung
She has Punarvasu Venus conjunct Saturn (both of them are exactly conjunct so idk which one would be her amatyakaraka) and she has received a lot of flak for her "fake baby voice" 😭 Her real voice is naturally deeper and more mature but honestly Wonyoung is such a good example of a Jupiter dominant woman; they are obsessed with presenting themselves a certain way and are very "image conscious", this truly extends to everything from clothes, style, etiquette, speech, voice, absolutely everything. They know exactly what behaviours will elicit what responses.
youtube
6. Halsey
She is Punarvasu Moon (atmakaraka) & Mars along with Swati Mercury & Rising
She's known for singing in cursive 😭 but also just has a very sugary high pitched speaking voice. If you observe her even she has a very expressive, animated way of speaking, she's not quite ditzy but she's still almost childlike in her demeanour from time to time.
youtube
7. Ariana Grande
She is Ardra Sun & Punarvasu Mercury and she rose to fame for playing a ditzy airhead on Nickelodeon. She in fact spent many years speaking like Cat Valentine off screen as well until she underwent an image revamp in the mid 2010s and adopted a blaccent.
This video shows how when she was younger not only did she have a fake baby voice, she also had a very different slightly ditzy demeanour.
youtube
8. Shehnaaz Gill
She is an Indian reality star turned influencer who is known for her baby voice and exaggerated cutesy mannerisms. She is Pushya Moon.
(the interview is mostly in Hindi but you can observe her mannerisms and way of speaking)
youtube
9. Melissa Rauch
She has Punarvasu Mercury (amatyakaraka) and played Bernadette on Big Bang Theory where she spoke in a distinctive high pitched voice whereas in real life, her voice is entirely different.
youtube
10. Kristen Bell
She has Punarvasu Sun & Mercury. She literally voiced Princess Ana in Frozen. Watch any interview of hers and you will see how expressive she is when she talks, she uses her hands a lot, her face is so animated and its so Punarvasu like🥰
youtube
(Tumblr does not allow me to embed more than 10 videos per post so I'll just be linking the rest)
11. Jennifer Garner
She's Mrigashira Moon (atmakaraka), UBP Mercury, Rohini Stellium (Venus, Mars & Saturn)
She's a very good example of a typical Mrigashira. She always speaks like a very sweet, enthusiastic kid; very expressive, very animated.
Here's a link to her interview.
12. Mandy Moore
She's Revati Sun (atmakaraka) , Pushya Moon, Mrigashira Rising
She voiced Rapunzel in Tangled and imo Rapunzel is Tangled is a veryyyy good example of Mrigashira behaviour in many ways but especially with her mannerisms and manic pixie like behaviour which makes sense since she was voiced by a Mrig actress.
Here's a link to Mandy speaking
Here's a link to Rapunzel in Tangled
13. Jenny Slate
She is UBP Sun & Moon and Punarvasu rising
Her sense of humour and how she delivers jokes is a good mix of UBP and Punarvasu
Here's a link to a stand up bit
I've noticed that many Pisces rashi folks (UBP & Revati) are very expressive storytellers and have a very specific style of delivery (Salma Hayek, UBP Moon is a good example and so is Rihanna, Revati Moon).
Jenny has the dryness/deadpanned delivery of UBP mixed with the expressive frantic style of Punarvasu
14. Anna Kendrick
She is Ashlesha Sun (atmakaraka) & Mercury (amatyakaraka)
She has that typical Cancer girl sense of humour and speaking style
Here's a link
15. Mindy Kaling
She is Ardra Sun & Moon, Rohini Rising with Punarvasu Mercury
She rose to fame playing Kelly Kapoor who is a very typical Cancer gal tbh, replete with the slightly ditzy, hyper & manic style and mannerisms and squeaky excited voice.
Here's a link to her being Kelly
Here's a link of her as Mindy Lahiri on The Mindy Project
`16. Leslie Mann
She is UBP Sun, Revati Mercury and Pushya Ketu
Here's a link to an interview but Leslie is such a good example of this ditzy, kind of naive way of speaking. Her mannerisms and the way she delivers is so Pisces girlie of her.
17. Lana del Rey
She is Ardra Sun, Ashlesha Moon & Punarvasu Mercury
Lana is a good example of an introvert Cancer gal. People often think they're kind of weird and kookie and they have a chaotic kind of manic pixie way of speaking and behaving that it throws people off.
Here's a link, her speaking voice sounds very young and soft.
18.Rose Byrne
Pushya Sun & Moon, Ashlesha mercury
She's usually more composed and elegant but when she's more comfortable you see that Cancer girl charm come out. One thing all these women have in common is how they like to act out their stories and be very expressive with their face and body; their sense of humour is very silly and slapstick.
Here's a link
19. Emma Bunton aka Baby Spice
she is Pushya Sun, Mercury and Venus
(isnt it sweet that someone whose alter ego is literally called Baby Spice is a Cancer stellium 🥺)
Here's a link but Baby Spice is also a good example of a less manic but still very cutesy Cancer girl
Many Cancer girls have a tendency to "act cutesy" or "babyish" but also more often than not they are just very in touch with their inner child and kind of goofy and silly.
20. Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen
They're Mrigashira Sun, Punarvasu Mercury & Ashlesha Rising
If you've watched Full House or any of their movies, you can see the ditzy girly girl behaviour of Punarvasu come out but irl they're more introverted and a little awkward, sort of like Lana and seem funny in a shy way.
Claire Nakti had observed in her Swati video about how Swatis and Punarvasus share certain similarities, I've seen this extend to their behaviour and mannerisms as well. Jennifer Tilly, Mila Kunis (both Swati Moon) and Emma Stone (Swati Sun) all have a very similar energetic girly, sweet and humble but kind of kooky and silly style of speaking and story telling.

About My Nonhuman Identity🐾
(may change/update occasionally) (All from most to least prominent, excluding flicktertype list)
THERIOTYPES:
▸Turkish Angora (felis catus) ▸Vancouver coastal sea wolf (canis lupus crassodon) ▸Type A orca (orcinus orca) ▸Western jackdaw (corvus monedula) ▸Banded linsang (prionodon linsang)
KINTYPES/FICTOTYPES:
▸Mercutio (Romeo et Juliette 2010)
FLICKERTYPES (💡= active flicker):
▸Applejack (MLP FiM) ▸Mr. Snake (The Bad Guys)
KITHTYPES:
▸All snake species
QUESTIONING:
▸ Count Paris (Romeo and Juliet) (kith) ▸ Jackson's Widowbird ▸ Circe (EPIC: the musical)
◈◈◈◈◈
▸I experience mainly sensory, phantom and mental shifts, though I (very rarely) also experience dream shifts and (slightly more common) perception shifts! The majority of the time, I do not feel my phantom limbs touching objects, but sometimes a particularly strong shift can can uncomfortable.
▸I do not experience species dysphoria very often.
▸I identify specifically as a male wolf, and a pack leader, due to a lack of maternal instinct and other qualities that are tied to my nonhumanity. I also identify as a female domestic cat. I know I do not feel wolfish maternal instincts because when I see a real kitten or a picture of a kitten, I feel strong urges to protect it, feed it, etc.
▸I consider myself both a psychological and spiritual therian. As far as I know, all my identities are psychological except my coastal wolf and Turkish Angora theriotypes, which are spiritual (past lives)

films i think should have won best animated feature: 2001 - shrek deserved the w its a fun movie 2002 - again the winner was so deserved. spirited away is a masterpiece 2003 - i havent actually seen triplets of belleville but it looks soooo fucking good. but because i havent seen it i cant say it deserved it over finding nemo, which is indeed a very good movie. maybe this will change 2004 - the incredibles is such a good fucking movie obviously. shrek 2 is amazing but nowhere near the overall quality of the incredibles 2005 - now i love wallace and gromit with all my heart but miyazaki was robbed. still curse of the wererabbit is so much fun and its cool to see stop motion win 2006 - this year was dismal for animated films. i really dont care about monster house, cars or happy feet. honestly flushed away should have been nominated and won. i've also heard good things about paprika but i havent seen it so i'll hold my judgement 2007 - listen i loooooove ratatouille but is it better than persepolis? .......... no sorry. persepolis is the winner in my heart. but im not mad about ratatouille winning 2008 - what can i say we all know wall-e is a beautiful love story between a butch and a femme robot. deserved 2009 - fantastic mr fox was robbed sorry up fans 2010 - i havent watched the illusionist so again i cant say that deserved the oscar. i CAN say that httyd deserved it over toy story 3. ive never cared for the toy story franchise much 2011 - rango is a crazy weird movie but i think it is probably better than kung fu panda two. just a bit. there's something so interesting about the animation style. a cat in paris sounds fun as hell though 2012 - this year's nominees were also pretty weak. rise of the guardians was robbed. i guess of the actual nominees brave is probably my fave 2013 - who in their right mind voted for frozen over the wind rises. i just want to talk 2014 - song of the sea is a beautiful beautiful movie which is much better and more visually breathtaking than big hero 6. i have also heard incredible things about princess kaguya and i wouldnt be suprised if that was the more deserving movie. LEGO MOVIE WAS SNUBBED THOUGH I CANT BELIEVE THEY FUCKING LEFT OUT THE LEGO MOVIE. LEGO MOVIE SWEEP 4EVA 2015 - ive only seen the winner, inside out, which is a great movie, but i wouldnt be suprised if anomalisa or when marnie was there was better 2016 - ive always found zootopia's message pretty muddy even though its fun. my life as a courgette was robbed af. it is such a beautiful, heartfelt movie and the way it deals with horrific childhood trauma in such a sensitive and hopeful way. go watch my life as a courgette NOW 2017 - coco is a lovely movie but the breadwinner made me feel emotions i never want to experience again in the best way possible. cartoon saloon's visual style is one of the best out there and it needs more recognition 2018 - we all know into the spiderverse is one of the best animated movies of all time and none of the other nominees were even in the same ballpark. its laughable that ralph breaks the internet was even allowed to be in the same space as this masterpiece. 2019 - again i dont really care for toy story but i reeeeaaally didnt care for httyd3 or missing link. i havent seen ive lost my body so i cant say thats better, but i am looking forward to watching it. i would honestly say that klaus is the best one here, the style is so visually inventive and this take on santa claus is really great
2020 - listen soul is fun but it would have been so much better without all the little blue blobs. like the existential jazz shit was a 10/10 they should have just made a slice of life movie out of that. not an oscar winner imo. ESPEIALLY NOT compared to wolfwalkers. obviously im biased towards everything cartoon saloon but this movie is a culmination of their years-long efforts and a combination of what makes their movies great. im biased because im irish but the folklore balanced with the soul-crushing message on colonialism is just perfect storytelling. the animation is some of the best ive ever seen from 2d and oliver cromwell dies violently. literally the perfect movie it should have won over the usual "lets vote for pixar" 2021 - encanto is funsies but i have a soft spot for the mitchells vs the machines and think that should have won. luca is also pretty good. i havent seen flee but the idea of an animated documentary is so innovative so that probably also could have deserved it. im not mad that encanto won though. 2022 - i havent seen director man's pinnochio but ive heard its good so i cant dispute its win. but marel the shell with shoes on is my favourite from 22 2023 - honestly all the nominees except elemental are 10/10s but the competition was really only between spiderverse and boy and the heron. my personal fav out of the 2 is spiderverse but i totally understand why miyazaki won and im glad he's getting recognition from the academy again. i wanna see more love for robot dreams though. and of course nimona is bombastic. fuck disney 4eva
ok thats it thank you for reading my rant
