Yes in case you were wondering, I DO have some head canons about this The Gaang Plays DnD au. My line of thought is that the events of ATLA IS the campaign, so their modern versions are playing as their show characters in the campaign (don’t think about it too hard lmfao)

This happens at the point in the AU when Zuko has joined their friend group, but Katara still doesn’t like him. Not entirely sure what the “betrayal” is between them, but I’m thinking it’s more along the line of Darcy snubbing Elizabeth than almost getting Aang killed. Most definitely the others eventually inform ZK that they are kicked out of the campaign until they can get along, which leads to Zuko and Katara faking a friendship that…turns into something more, obviously.
