From Manila, With Love
If you have been in a fast food joint in the last couple of years, you have probably noticed the shift away from human cashiers and ordering, replaced by touchscreen kiosks. They are easy to use, and assuming you don’t use your fingertips to touch those nasty germ-filled screens, make for a quick and seamless transaction. (Pro tip: Use your Proximal interphalangeal joint—that’s your big knuckle—on your index finger. You’re welcome.)
I’m pretty sure we all understand the reasons why restaurateurs have gone down this road. It saves labor, helps solve the problem of finding labor in the first place, and alleviates concerns of whether your employees will bother to show up.
But what about the people who still crave a little human interaction, or have trouble using the technology? Is there a middle ground?
Turns out there is, but not exactly how you thought it might work. Last weekend this newsy item went viral on X and then spread across the social and news graphs. SanSan, a small fast food chicken chain in New York City, has installed not just touchscreens, but also monitors that effectively allow for Zoom cashiers to pop in, ready to assist as needed and provide a thin layer of customer service. It’s just that the virtual cashiers are in the Philippines.
Tumblr media
It’s a brilliant idea, to be honest. The minimum wage in the Philippines is $3.75 an hour, compared to New York City’s $16, and once you factor in all other labor expenses here in the States, like Workmen’s Comp, that Zoom cashier costs only about 10% as much as they would in NYC. Ding ding ding.
Naturally, there will be critics, in part because it is still less than personal compared to how we did things in the old days (meaning pre-COVID), and because they are outsourcing labor. The latter is a bone of contention that won’t go away, as long as there are global economies with workers willing and able to perform for much less than their US counterparts.
Lest you think that SanSan has completely stripped the process of American culture, customers are presented with the opportunity to tip the cashier on their screen, something that probably would not happen if you were in the Philippines. Tipping culture is alive and well, even onscreen.
This is not the first time that video cashiers have been used, and the Philippines is not the only labor source. Basically, wherever you have reliable internet and willing workers, this is a very real option. The digital era reveals itself in yet another way.
There is an upside, of course, and that is the face on the screen is connected to SanSan’s ordering system, and can help customers if they make mistakes or have special requests. Not everyone feels comfortable using the technology (I’m looking at old people, myself excluded).
Digital Natives (meaning Gen-Zers) will have no problem placing an order, because it is little different from everything else they have done online and with touchscreens. But for those whom find this all a little bit rattling, having someone to hold your hand and settle your anxieties is a good thing.
What’s next, though? If SanSan or any of the others need or want to trim even more labor costs, the next logical step is a digital assistant like Alexa or Siri. This will require a hefty commitment to AI, but at the same time may still fall short of the human touch who would easily know how to add extra soy sauce or not use fish sauce, for example.
I suspect, though, that this is where we are headed. We can also find some comfort in knowing that the digital naysayers are, sadly and yet quite literally, a dying breed. But know ye this truth as well: You too will get old one day—if you live long enough—and you may very well find yourself as the future grumpy old person who can’t or won’t adapt to whatever is the new thing then.
If I were in NYC, I’d stop by SanSan in a heartbeat, and even go out of the way to do so. I want to see this in the wild, not just in a news report. And if it’s not busy, I’d strike up a conversation with that cashier halfway around the world. There have to be some stories waiting to be told.

...THAT is your boyfriend?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing : jungkook x sanrio girl!oc
genre : fluff
warning : mention of drugs , little bit of angst
request : tiktok
a/n : sorry this is rlly short but LONGER drabbles of this story r comingggg js need to get them out of the drafts LOL
unedited.
this is like after about 3 months into their relationship btw!
"padamdam damdamdampadamdam, tupadadadadadamdam..." you speak nonsense, hand around your boyfriend's arm as you scrolled through your phone.
jungkook huffs, giving you the side eye. "what are you even saying?"
"shush, don't say anything." you comment, giving him a small glare and going back to doing whatever you were doing on the phone.
"yes, ma'am."
you both were at the mall shopping, going from aisle to aisle looking for cute clothes. mostly for you. jungkook didn't really care about what he wore. just some dark coloured clothes and a few rings will do for him.
"i was...hmmm...ah! this is what i was looking for earlier." you show your boyfriend your phone which displayed a picture of a plastic figure of cinnamonroll.
"the fuck is that?" he couldn't help but laugh a little, taking the phone from your grasp and zooming into the figure.
"it's cinnamonroll." you give him a sour look. how could he not know!
"i swear, it was pink before." he kisses his teeth, tilting his head to the side, curious about the mysterious bunny (not) figure.
"baby, that was poron. his sister." you correct him. "it's a HE?" jungkook's jaw falls a little, turning to look at you with a shocked expression. yeah. i felt the same when i found out too.
"it's okay. me too. can't believe i was supporting a MAN. but he's really cute, i love him!" you smile. jungkook glances at your face then back at the phone with a small smile forming in the corner of his lips.
"okay, where do we find this guy?" he asks.
"YAY!"
that was before you grabbed his wrist and practically dragged him out of the store.
"mm, jungkook, nooo, it has to be here!" you sigh, going through each of the figures displayed on front. he just hums, not really paying any mind to your misery.
a few minutes pass by and you were still searching for the little guy. at this point, jungkook was getting a little tired. he looks over to you who was crouched down, going through a pile of figures in a basket. he decides to take matters into his own hands and find this little guy for his girlfriend.
so jungkook walks away from you across the store to the cashier, asking for help. he shows a picture of the figure to the cashier, and while he goes through their computer trying to find if he's still in stock, jungkook wonders why you didn't do this first. dumb little girl, he thinks.
"sorry sir, seems like it's out of stock." the cashier speaks. jungkook thanks him, walking back to you. but plot twist! you were gone!
but something catches jungkook's attention. some guy holding your bag outside the store. what?
the corner of his lip twitched upwards, to not to form a smile but rather to form a scowl. what was some rando doing with your bag? he was leaning against the wall with a grin, examining your bag like he owned it.
jungkook walks upto the guy, giving him a tap on the shoulder. the guy turns around to look at him, raising his head up. shortass, jungkook thought.
"why do you have her bag with you?" he points at the bag.
"what? why are you asking?" the guy furrows his eyebrows, his lips twitching up to a sour expression.
"because it's my girlfriend's bag, dumbfuck. where's she?"
girlfriend? the guy scans jungkook from top to bottom. long hair, tatted arms, piercings. y/n can't be possibly be into...that? she can do so much better. the guy looks like he's on drugs. he probably is! he thinks.
"no way y/n's dating a druggy like you." the guy laughs mockingly, clutching onto the purse.
"alright, little man. fuckin tell me where my girl is or i'll pluck your toenails out one by one." he looked as if he was about to beat up the guy then and there, and he probably was too.
"fucking hell, man. god, there she is!" the guy rubs the back of his head, clearly annoyed as he moved away from jungkook. meanwhile, jungkook immediately turns around to see you walking towards both of them with a confused look.
"where were you?" you ask.
"no, where were YOU? and who's this fucker holding your shit?" he points at the guy who's walking towards you. confidently too. as if he knows you better than anyone else. jungkook's jealous, it doesn't take a genius to understand that. angry too. really fucking pissed that this shortass little man is interrupting their date.
before you could answer, the guy cut you off.
"y/n, here's your stuff. and i don't know who this is, but he's—
"i'm her boyfriend, dumbfuck!" jungkook shouts, frustrated.
"is he?" he turns to look at you for confirmation.
"yeah...?" you nod.
"you never told me?" the guy scoffs.
"i don't have to tell you about everything going on in my life?" you frown.
"y/n, he looks like he cheats on you with a different girl every week." the guy comments.
okay no, what the fuck. you're not going to tolerate some meanass comment about your boyfriend. but you also don't want to cause a scene. okay, nevermind—
"the fuck did you just say?" jungkook's clearly offended. but before he could do more, you grab onto his arm and pull him back.
"let's go." you say. he didn't really reply to you, but just gave you a scoff. okay. he's not disagreeing either.
"matheo, i'll talk to you later." you don't even bother giving the guy a smile, but just drag jungkook away.
"what was that all about?" you squeeze his biceps. jungkook pulls his arm away from you, rolling his eyes.
"nothin." he mumbles.
not wanting to continue this topic further, you just nod.
but it's odd. it's been about 30 minutes and jungkook hasn't said anything to you except replying to whatever you tell him. he's also been keeping a small distance from you. what's wrong again. ugh.
"baby, what's wrong?" you look at your boyfriend who was sitting across you mindlessly scrolling on his phone. he raises his head up to take one glance at you but looks back down immediately. instead, he just shakes his head.
"no, i know something's wrong." you protest.
jungkook sighs, placing his phone on the table before finally looking at you.
"you really want me to tell you?" he asks, his expression rather serious. uh oh. you messed up. but fine, you'll take it. you hesitantly nod your head, nervously scratching your skirt with your nails.
"i'm tired of keeping this private. i know you wanted time till you felt like telling people, but it's been 3 months already and we still haven't told a single soul."
oh!
"i don't want to run into guys like that ever again. fucking shortass. you know i care about you and respect your feelings, right? but i just...you know, want to tell people. it's fine if you still wanna wait. but this is just how i feel." he sighs, turning his head to look away.
you couldn't help but pout a little at his confession. you know he's right. it's been 3 months.
"okay. let's tell people. i'm sorry for making you wait that long. and thank you for telling me, gguk." you smile at your boyfriend who's eyes lit up at the mention of you finally publicly posting about your relationship.
"you're sure about this?" he re-checks.
you nod in approval!
"fucking finally. i can beat up every guy who approaches you now."
"okay, no no no no." you laugh, disagreeing COMPLETELY. you knew he wasn't joking either.

—
standing infront of the door of your apartment, you struggle to unlock it with your fingerprint because of the paper bag you’re hugging to your chest and the small bouquet of red roses occupying your other hand. in the end, you decide to put down the paper bag on the cold tiled floor. you press your index finger on the rectangular pad above the numbers before turning the doorknob.
the familiar ringing of the door opening and closing make jungkook and bam comically perk up at the same time. the dog stands up by resting his front legs on the backrest of the sofa, tail excitedly wagging as he anticipates your arrival in the living room.
“hello, baby. i’m home.” you sweetly hum as you pad across the floor with your feet only clad in white socks after lazily leaving your shoes by the doormat.
jungkook isn’t even sure if you meant ‘baby’ as in him or bam, but that thought shortly gets pushed to the back of his mind when his confused doe eyes zoom in on the flowers you’re securely cradling.
relieving yourself of its weight, you finally set down the paper bag from the convenience store, sliding your phone out of the pocket of your sweatpants to leave it on top of the center table as well. bam jumps off the sofa sniffing loudly at the flowers, but you quickly raise your arm to put it out of his reach.
“no- no, bamie. you can’t eat this! this is for your daddy.” you tell him with a giggle, digging your hand into the paper bag to dish out the new toy you bought him.
“for me?” your boyfriend chips in to the conversation with a toothy grin, but his question is left unanswered as you squeeze the yellow fish to make it squeak.
the high-pitched sound makes bam hyper. he stretches out his front legs forward, leaning down on his elbows — a posture that usually indicates that he wants to play. you throw the toy into the air and it lands near his house. he runs after it not even a second later, nails clicking against the floor. he carries it in his mouth and jumps on the other corner of the couch, living in his own little bubble to chew to his heart’s desire.
jungkook steals this opportunity to snake an arm around your waist, pulling you down to the open space next to him. you whimper in surprise as you fall on top of the bundle of blanket he abandoned, lifting your butt quickly to remove it from under you. bam inches closer to snuggle against the soft cotton, ears abruptly moving in curiosity when he successfully makes the toy squeak too.
“where are these from, huh? was someone trying to steal you away from me again?”
they almost make you instantaneously melt — his deep voice laced with half humor and half truth of bitterness, accompanied by a soft squeeze of your hip.
“babe!” you scold him with a laugh to mask how flustered you’ve become, as if you’re still not used to his flirting after all these years. “i passed by a flower shop on the way home and i thought i should be the one to buy them for you for a change.”
you extend the hand holding the bouquet, eyes twinkling with devotion that causes his resolve to crumble into ruins. it never stood a chance in the first place.
—
you walked away from the cashier while stuffing the book you just bought inside your tote bag, the man you strongly refused to allow and pay for it still hot on your heels.
“wait! i’m sorry. let me just- uh-”
you froze awkwardly before the lean and blonde stranger who blocked your path to the door, probably standing somewhere around 5’10. based on his complete nike get-up, you were pretty sure he was outside for an afternoon jog.
“i just wanted to let you know that i think you’re very beautiful, and maybe ask if we can hang out this weekend? at my place?”
and you could tell he was trying his best to appear confident, but the shaky hand that was holding out the bouquet of fresh tulips betrayed him. it was the first time in your life that you found your favorite flowers to be undesirable, no matter how perfectly and intricately arranged the beautiful colors were.
‘at my place?’ what the hell happened to chivalry? oh, a lost art indeed.
despite being extremely irritated at him for causing an embarrassing scene infront of the cashier earlier in addition to this, you forced yourself to give him an apologetic smile for the sake of being polite.
that was when jungkook came back after buying two cups of hotteok from a cart only half a block away. his walking pace slowed down as he watched the scene unfold through the glass separating the bookstore from the sidewalk, eyebrows knitting in growing confusion and annoyance. he failed to read your lips while you were talking. by then he was already prepared to join the conversation, even more after he realized that he recognized the man.
however, before he could reach the door, you were already pushing it open. the gush of wind blew through your hair, and your face lit up when you were greeted by the sight of your boyfriend holding your favorite snack. with a thrilled smile, you practically skipped your way to him and took the cup from his left hand.
“you got them! the line was pretty long so i thought they would sell out before your tur-”
your smile slowly faded when you realized he wasn’t listening. jungkook’s eyes were too busy shooting daggers at the stranger walking to the trash can, jaw clenching when he saw how aggressively he slammed down your dearly beloved flowers. he was the only one to notice the lone orange tulip that slipped and fell on the ground, firmly rejected and thoughtlessly discarded.
your warm hand held his cheek, gently coaxing him to look at you instead.
“what did he say? did he touch you?”
it’s very rare to see jungkook this seriously angry. therefore, you are only reminded at times like this that he can be scary if he wants to. at first, you thought his protectiveness would only last until the early stages of your relationship and eventually fade like those who came before him, but he never changed.
you shook your head, rubbing his arm in an attempt to soothe his temper. “no, not at all. he was kind of stubborn but i handled it just fine.”
he only nodded in response, features still hardened, but relief washed over him after confirming that nothing dangerous happened to you while he was gone. but he was swept off his feet before his mind could run for another mile. you pulled him closer by the collar of his shirt, the torrid kiss you granted him with lasting seconds. insatiably craving more of your ministrations, he made a move to chase your lips, but a rude car honk jolted him awake to the fact that you were still in public.
you gave him a coy smile. “want to eat ramen with me at home? i’m getting cold.”
“let’s go home, baby.” he hummed in agreement. “i’ll warm you up.” he hung his tattooed arm over your shoulder, guiding you to his other side to put himself between you and the rushing vehicles passing by.
he spared another sharp glance at the bookstore before walking away. he met the eyes of the asshole who has been indiscreetly observing you still regardless of the disaster that just transpired. he panicked at the interaction and turned on his heel, disappearing into the fiction aisle.
jungkook smirked, shaking his head in disdain before taking the first bite off his hotteok.
—
walking didn’t seem to help shake off his inflexible thoughts.
“something still bothers me about that guy.” he mumbled after tossing your empty cups in the trash bin you passed by.
“what is it?” you frowned worriedly, intertwining your fingers with his. by this time the glorious sun has started to set, splashing the sky with light orange paint that reflected on his honey skin.
“he was already there when we went in the bookstore. i know he saw us holding hands. i’m obviously your boyfriend.” vexation continued to run in his veins until it dripped from his tongue. his satoori accent came out thick and heavy as he spoke with wide, expressive eyes. “and he still had the fucking audacity to go out and buy you flowers?”
your lips parted open in surprise, tilting your head to the side as you tried to recall the surroundings when you entered the establishment earlier. no wonder he was instantly upset and worried.
“i don’t remember seeing him . . . but you know, if he’s as brazen as you think he is, why did he only approach me when you left?”
your stream of thoughts got interrupted by a scandalous gasp when you arrived at a new angle of looking at the situation.
“he invited me to his place.” you halted on your tracks, glaring back at your previous location. you were already five blocks away from the bookstore, and you wish he could magically feel the negative energy you were exuding from the distance. “so did he really think i’m that kind of-”
you instinctively pulled back your boyfriend by tightly grabbing the sleeve of his jacket. “hey! where are you going?”
his jaw clenched, tongue prodding the inside of his cheek — telltale signs that he was unquestionably pissed off. “baby, i won’t let that one slide.”
alright, this is not good. not good at all. perhaps you should start learning how to stop saying your thoughts out loud.
“but he’s not worth the time.” you pouted sadly, wrapping your arms around his waist so he wouldn’t be able to walk away. “i just want to go home and cuddle with you and our child while watching the new chainsaw man e-p.”
he breathed out a sigh to compose himself. the proposition you laid out was undeniably irresistible, albeit a bait of distraction. but he knew you were just keeping him in check before he impulsively acts again. he gave your forehead a chaste kiss, honeyed lips a little sticky from the sugar syrup of the hotteok filling.
“okay then. let’s do that.”
—
“are you still annoyed about yesterday?” you poke his soft cheek with your index finger. “hey, look at this. i got six red roses for a reason . . . you are my one and only.”
you point at each flower as you slowly speak the sentence word by word, and his heart overflows with fondness as he watches. when you innocently look up to meet his gaze with a hopeful smile, saying the words- “i would’ve gotten you a fancier arrangement but i don’t want your allergies acting up.”
that is his final straw.
“shit, baby. why are you so damn cute? what am i going to do with you?” he accepts the bouquet with a lighthearted chuckle, setting it down on the table before attacking you with his affection.
you end up falling on your back as he climbs over you. you giggle uncontrollably when he holds your wrists and traps your thighs in between his knees anchored on the cushion, tirelessly peppering your face and neck with love-fueled kisses.
the noisy disturbance distracts bam from his squeaky yellow fish. he jumps off the couch to stand beside you and jungkook, licking at whatever his tongue reaches. for you, it’s your arm held folded by your boyfriend.
“it tickles! you know it tickles there!” you squeal, squirming beneath him. you feel his frisky lips curve into a smile against the left side of your neck, stubbornly planting more kisses on the expanse of your skin.
“mhmm, i love you. i love you.” he hazily chants, drunk in love, tracing his way back to your lips. “i love you so much.”
that’s when he decides he’s finished with innocent pecks, delicate hands releasing your wrists to properly balance himself on top of you. you tenderly caress his face as he deepens the kiss, coaxing you to part your lips so he can dip his playful tongue in your mouth. when he tilts his head to the side so his nose won’t bump against yours, your hand slides to the back to support it, fingers tangling with his long and fluffy hair. a desperate, filthy moan escapes from his throat as you unconsciously tug, prompted by his soft nibbling at your bottom lip. it sends tingles running through your spine like live wire, and the air engulfing the two of you becomes hotter and heavier.
he parts away from you breathless, resting his forehead on yours before pulling himself up again. “fuck. is this how you feel when i buy you flowers?”
you gingerly brush his undereye with the pad of your thumb, finding yourself deeply fascinated with his dilated pupils staring right back at you.
you lick your swollen lips, front teeth digging on your bottom lip. “i should’ve done it sooner, right? i’m sorry.”
“don’t be. you already give me so much, silly.” he softly pecks your lips again. “besides, your presence is my favorite gift. you’re a blessing to me, you know that?”
you smile shyly, hiding your face in the crook of his neck. his random confessions of overwhelmingly sincere adoration never fails to elicit a giddy reaction from you. “i love you.”
“ah- ouch.” a wince shortly replaces your smile when bam jumps on the couch again, accidentally stepping on your hair.
“bam, sit, sit. sit down.” jungkook rises to kneel on his knees, moving forward until they reach your waist. bam obeys his command, and your hands find purchase on the flesh of his thighs as he releases your hair from under the dog’s paws.
“i’ll go put the flowers in the vase.” he cheerfully announces as he cautiously removes himself on top of you, planting his feet on the ground.
“okaaay.” you drag out the word as you sit up on the couch. while he takes the bouquet of roses with him to the kitchen, bam finally finds the chance to leave the toy on your lap, but not before he gives it a good bite to make it squeak.
you pet his long floppy ears as he licks your cheek and then your hands, urging you to play with him using the gift you bought him. you press quick kisses on the top of his head before squeezing the yellow fish, waving it infront of his face.
“do you want to play, bamie? should we? will you bring it back to me?”
he starts panting as if to answer ‘yes’ to all of your questions.
you throw the toy at the kitchen, and you cover your mouth out of reflex to suppress your laughter when it landed on the dining table, only a few inches away from jungkook. he pauses from plucking off the leaves from the stem of each rose, jokingly raising an eyebrow at bam, who is balancing himself standing up by using his body as a support.
he picks up the toy and dangles it above bam, speaking to him in a baby voice. “is this what you’re looking for? aw, really? you want it? go take it then . . . that’s it, good boy!”
bam easily catches it with his mouth, running back to you so he can complete the mission you gave him. he drops it on your lap again, bumping his nose against yours, and you dramatically collapse on the couch. he starts sniffing at you curiously, front paw poking your shoulder once to gauge your reaction.
your eyes only open half-way, and you spread out your arms to show him the space you created for him. “bam, i’m sleepy- sleep. i need to recharge. can we play again later?”
he lies down on his back and uses your arm as a pillow, rolling around for a bit until he chooses to curl up beside you in the end, his upper body resting on your stomach.
“ugh, you’re so heavy. can’t. breathe.” you mutter under your breath, but nevertheless, you stroke his side lovingly until you both completely doze off for an afternoon nap.
jungkook squints at the living room when the apartment got suspiciously quiet, lips forming a pout.
“are you two cuddling? i still need to trim the stems- save me some space!”

A sharp gasp tears through his mouth. Kai winces, squinting his eyes so hard until they sting, prickles of salt and saline tickling their rims. His teeth grit, and Kai tries to catch his breath. Both eyes slowly reopen, bleary and foggy, and he stares down.
His cock is resting loosely in his cupped hand, fingers not even fully curled around his shaft. Kai feels ridiculous the longer he stares down at himself, but he doesn’t feel ridiculous enough to tuck his cock away. He’s throbbing, painfully so, and he can feel the heartbeat of his blood thrumming against his skin. Kai shifts awkwardly, and the toilet seat squeaks in protest. The sound is a bullet, and Kai flinches before he sighs in frustration and carefully leans back until he lays against the tank. The crown of his head digs into the wall. Unbelievable. Kai can’t believe he’s doing this. He’s never done anything like this before. It’s filthy. It’s gross. It’s—
Kai swipes his thumb across his phone, unlocking it. He’s deft, tapping away until he pulls up his photos and locates a very specific album. There’s hundred of photos there. Hundreds. But he knows which one he wants. He knows exactly where it is. He wants this photo right now.
There.
A photo of you fills the screen, blurry and almost pixelated. It’s not the best quality because of how close it’s zoomed in, but Kai doesn’t care about that. He doesn’t even really need to look at this photo, but it helps the illusion. Kai remembers this day, this hour, this moment. He can still clearly see it in his mind—everything, Kai remembers every little detail. It’s one of his favorite photos of you. That beautiful smile, the way your face scrunches up, the outfit you’re wearing, that cute litte pose, the way it seems like the whole world revolves around you—the center of Kai’s universe. This photo may be lost in the hundreds of you in this album, but Kai can’t stop thinking about it. He always comes back to this one.
And the longer he stares at the photo, the heavier his cock feels in his palm. Kai shifts again, sitting up a little straighter before he slowly curls his fingers fully around his shaft. Another quick gasp leaves him, but Kai exhales noisily and bites the inside of his cheek to prevent any premature noises from escaping. Even though he’s never done this before, Kai doesn’t want to feel like an amateur. Whenever Kai has you, he’ll have to do more than this, right? He needs to practice now. He needs to make you feel good. He makes sure his grip is firm enough before he caaaaaaaarefully drags his fist down. Intensity shoots from his cock all the way to his brain, an explosion that sends his eyes rolling back into his skull and his head thrashing against the wall. Kai’s eyes blow out of his brain, and he pauses, fist resting at the base of his shaft.
He can do this. It’s all for you—all for the pretty cashier who accidentally brushed his wrist, the one who touched him so softly; the one who didn’t send blistering hives across his flesh, bubbling. You’d touched him—touched him, and it was something he’d never forget. Even now, months later, the skin underneath your fingertips still burned like a fever. He was on fire, insane, and it was that memory that spurred his hand on. Kai gasps again, and he momentarily pauses whenever his fingers slide his foreskin over his cockhead but quickly continues. Your smile, those teeth, and Kai’s rolling his wrist down again. Each little gyration of his hand is quicksilver in his body, silver and lead poisoning, something spreading like a wildfire. His chest is tight, he feels tight, Kai is lightheaded and it’s only been three pumps.
He’s been stalking you for so long. Kai sheathes his teeth through the inside wall of his cheek so that he can force himself to keep going. He’s rubbing himself as best as he can, groaning and moaning behind melded teeth. Up and down, but his thighs are shaking. His whole body is shaking. He’s imagining your touch, imagining how it would feel for you to wrap your fingers around his cock and slowly work him off. How much longer does he need to stalk you? Kai’s right hand shoots to his face, and the phone escapes his grasp and falls onto the floor, clattering embarrassingly loud, just to slap his mouth before it covers his eyes, massages into his brow line before it lids his mouth again. His cock is like a war drum, harder and harder, louder and louder, and Kai feels like he’s about to implode, about to plaster out, guts and grits and dregs splattered across the bathroom. He doesn’t want to wait any longer.
His hips meet each pump of his hand now—it’s like clockwork, he can't control it. He’s panting, mewling for breath, and tears are brimming to life in his eyes. A few loose ones start trickling down the apples of his face, boiling, and Kai is whimpering behind his palm. The smiles of his nails slice the skin around his mouth, but it doesn’t ground him. Kai knows almost everything about you. There’s the strange pressure building up underneath his belly, and it’s almost too much for Kai to take. He can’t breathe now, he’s holding his breath, but he doesn’t even know why he’s doing that. There’s disease in his lungs, but Kai doesn’t care. Smoke, ash, and candle wicks, and it doesn’t stop the twisting, the cottonmouth in his belly coiling itself, pink mouth exposed. You probably don’t even remember that Kai exists. When he glances to the floor to see his phone, a few fat rivulets of tears drip onto its screen, fogging up the already mystical photo. Kai’s  stare is imploring whenever he starts to focus on it again.
How would you have sex? Would you want to be on top or would you want him to be on top? Would you submit to him? Would he have to use toys on you? What sort of fetishes do you have? What about kinks? What places would be the most sensitive to touch? What places would make you moan the loudest?
Kai’s cock is wailing now, banging its desolate body against the walls of its cage, and his fist is hammering himself in. That pushing, that tourniquet, soggy and dry, is spinning and spinning, and Kai’s starting to feel so dizzy and weightless. His fist is a mile a minute, aching and tense.
Would you touch him until time ended? Would you never take your eyes off of him? Would you dedicate yourself to him like he would you? Would you beg him to hide you away from the rest of this disease-ridden world for your own safety? Would you only look at him until you died?
Airy and whiny moans are tumbling out of his mouth, spilling over the edge and splashing to the floor. Kai feels so close, he doesn’t even know what close is, but he feels something, it’s imminent and impending, it won’t last much longer.
Would you love him? Kai loves you, loves you, and only you. You have to love him back. He’ll make you. You’ll have to see what you do to him. You’d like his collection of you. You need to love him back. Kai wants to know what it’ll be like to have sex with you. He wants to know what it’ll be like to be inside of you for the rest of your lives. Kai needs it. Needs it. He’ll die without it.
Kai needs you so bad that he can taste the desire on his tongue, and it only takes one sparing glance at that image of you, and only a tiny tug at his cock, and Kai is yelling. Everything in him fulminates, mushrooming out of control, and tremors seize his body. He’s cumming, Kai is cumming. And he’s whimpering, crying so hard and dipping his head down until his chin almost touches his collar bones. He’s trembling, white plumes squirting out of his cock uselessly, making a disgusting mess on the linoleum, but he can't concentrate on that. He’s staring at that image of you. He’s sitting there naked on a toilet in a bathroom, but you’re out there not with him. You’re not with him. You’re not here. He’s by himself, pleasuring himself, hidden away in a bathroom.
Throes of passion and pleasure are melting through him, pillowing him in things he’s never felt before, but his reality remains true.
You’re not his.
Kai’s cock throbs again, desperate.
You’re not his.
Kai feels like his head is turning circles, on a carousel that won’t stop, quicker and faster, and it’s keeping his body suctioned to its agony. His fist never unfurls from his cock, and he starts pumping again. Harder. And his teeth make this terrible sound whenever they slide together, but Kai is staring at his phone and he bends forward so he can quickly snatch it back up, and his thumb begins madly flicking through the hundreds of images of you. He doesn’t even have a destination in mind—just you.
You’re not his.
Yet.

A video with the caption “Wow that was powerful! Never thought a ‘boycott Israel’ advert would move me to tears”
The video starts with a man grabbing a can of Pepsi from a cooler in a store, and placing it on the counter. He asks the price, to which the cashier tells him it costs two dinar. The shot then shows 13 versions of this interaction at once, where he hands over the 2 dinar and takes the can of pepsi, equalling 26 dinar.
After the product is scanned, we return to one shot and the cashier is counting his money. It then switches to show the pepsi delivery driver being handed the wad of money while delivering the stores supplies. This part of the video features many rapid transitions. The first transition is to the pepsi driver using a money counting machine to count his money, then we see many rapid cuts that interchange close up shots of the “100” on hundred dollar bills and images of stock market prices rising and falling, likely representative of that money changing between economies and countries.
It then transitions to a businessman counting money, which he places in a briefcase and leaves his office. He presents the briefcase to a colleague, which transitions as the case is opened to the colleague opening the case to show a weapons manufacturer. The weapons manufacturer then begins building with a variety of hammering, sawing, and ends with spray painting. He then presents his creation: a bomb. The person being presented to comments that it’s perfect.
It cuts to a plane flying through the rain on a darkened night, to which someone says to the pilot “do you have eyes on the target?”
The pilot responds “yes, i have visuals.”
The pilot then says “Sir, are you sure about the coordinates? I see civilians nearby.”
The camera then pans to a little girl, looking between 10 and 13, walking with an older man, either her brother or father. He is trailing behind her, and as she turns to look at him, she also looks up to see the plane.
While she is looking at the plane, an audio overlay of the pilot being told “do it.”
The shot then shows a close up of the bomb being dropped and it’s trajectory through the air, as it gets closer and closer to the ground. As we reach the ground, the camera actually zooms in on the innocent child’s eye, the tip of the bomb still in frame and clearly about to land on her face.
The moment in time freezes as the older man hugs her tightly, and she stares at the bomb. The shot cuts between a full body of her being embraced, the man hugging her with his back attempting to shield her from the bomb, and her face close up, staring at it. The moment in time resumes in extreme slow motion, as a pulsating ring is heard getting louder and louder as the nose of the bomb gets closer to impact. Right before the bomb lands, the screen cuts to black, with white text saying “Boycott.”

so i feel like you guys would go to the water park because it's so hot. kyle is the one who suggested it because cartman can't stfu. "what the fuck it's so hot" "then how about we go to the water park tubby" "DON'T CALL ME TUBBY YOU STUPID J- that's actually not a bad idea" "shiii im down it's hot as fuck" "fr" "but not as hot as hot as me😘" "who said you were hot in the first place🤨" so all of you guys walked back to your houses and to go get ready. we all know kyle is the mom friend so he brings extra towels, sunscreen, and floaties and puts it in a suitcase. once you all meet up you guys just decided to walk there. "god kyle did you not get the memo were going to the waterpark not the airport🙄" "WELL CARTMAN I WAS JUST TRYING TO LOOK OUT FOR YOU GUYS LOOK AT YOURSELVES YOU GUYS DIDN'T EVEN BRING A SINGLE TOWEL" "thanks for bringing us stuff mom ilysm🥰" "yeah yeah whatever let's just start walking" when you guys get there for some reason kenny and cartman BROUGHT A WHOLE ASS SPEAKER??? *random song playing on speaker* "AW DUDE WTH YOUR EMBARRISING US" "BITCHHH TURN THAT SHIT DOWNN😭" *kyle grabs the speaker and throws it into an "empty" pool* (rip to the kid who was in the pool) "come on stan and y/n lets go swim, but first we gotta put on sunscreen" "bro think's he's the main character💀" "im gonna fucking kill him" "bro thinks he's the villain 💀" your guys favorite thing to do at the waterpark is the slides for sure. or should i say it's you and kenny's favorite thing to do. "WOOHOOO WATER SLIDES Y/N LET'S GO" "YYASSS" "god they're so childish, real men make kids fall of slides" "CARTMAN NO-" so after you and kenny were finished with all the slides. you decided to invite stan because he hasn't done anything being the emo bitch he is🙄. "looks like someone threw a love bomb on you guys *wink*" "shut it kyle" anyways good thing kyle had his big ass suitcase prepared with towels and extra bathing suits. at the end of the day kenny is flirting with the life guards and cartman is torturing kids. but you, stan, and kyle always look foreword to the sunset each day and luckily. the water park has a perfect view for that so you guys were excited. (you guys got kicked out before the sunset)
after getting escorted out the water park you decide to go your local gas station for slushies and snacks. "LOOK Y/N SOUR CANDY OUR FAVORITE" "BY THE WHOLE ROW RN" "oh no no no you guys we aren't doing this again." he's only saying this because one time you and kyle ate so much sour candy that you guys passed out. when stan saw you guys he thought y'all did c0k3 because there was white powder everywhere. in reality it was sour dust💀. so he's still traumatized from sour candy because he thought his best bud and future gf died. [Daddies in December] Miya Osamu
I tell you, Miya Osamu is something else.
Warning: trigger (accidental black eye), smut
.
Osamu finally looked at his phone after the sudden rush in the kitchen. He felt the vibration of his phone in the back of his pocket but couldn’t check it until almost an hour later.
His eyes widened and he zoomed into the picture Y/n just sent him.
Look, I’m a pirate!
She had an eye patch over her left eye with a smile that never fails to flutter his heart.
He didn’t bother to look at the time and pressed the camera icon, video-calling her.
She rejected his call and he called again.
I’m in a parent-teacher meeting.
Osamu let out a frustrated sigh, so many questions were attacking him, and he needed answers.
.
“Kitchen. Was all he said when Y/n stepped foot into his shop.
Y/n and Megumi, the cashier exchanged looks. “He’s been waiting for you,” Megumi whispered, “asking every five minutes if you’re here yet.” He gestured for her to hurry and go, “good luck.”
Y/n dragged her feet and sighed before walking towards the kitchen where Osamu’s office is located. She smiled and greeted Osamu’s staff in the kitchen as they all stared at her with wide eyes.
She stepped into Osamu’s office, and he was leaning against his desk with his arms crossed over his broad chest. He quietly ordered, “close the door.”
As if she were a child in trouble, she closed the door behind her and then looked at her husband. “It was an accident,” she quickly said all under one breath. “I was at the wrong spot and wrong time and… didn’t see the baseball…”
Osamu inhaled and exhaled deeply. “I don’t like you getting hurt, anywhere on your body but Y/n,” he paused before stating, “what if it wasn’t your eye but instead your tummy?”
“I know,” Y/n mumbled, she had those exact thoughts, and thank the Gods it was her eye instead of her tummy. She placed both her hands on her flat tummy, where their baby was nourishing.
They had just found out they were expecting, Y/n being almost ten weeks pregnant.
Osamu has since then become even more protective and clingy. He has changed all the ingredients in their home, waking up earlier to pack her breakfast, three snack packs, and lunch. It was all approved meals and snacks for pregnant women.
Without further questions, he opened his arms, “come here.” She shuffles over and stands in between his long legs, allowing his long arms to wrap tightly around her waist. “I swear I cannot leave you alone without you getting hurt some way or somehow.” He pulled away and gently, ever so, tilted her chin upward, “can I see it?”
“Sure,” Y/n answered as he carefully lifted off the patch. She hears his breath hitched, “I’ve been icing it, so the swelling went down.”
“Yeah, but that doesn’t stop the bruise from forming.” Osamu clicked his tongue; the skin was already turning a shade of blue and purple. “Those asshole students.”
She wrapped her arms around his torso, burying her face against his broad chest. “I’ll be more careful and be more aware of my surroundings.”
“You need to let them know you are pregnant.” He has told her to announce it to her coworkers and students but she has been putting it off. But with this incident, Osamu is about to make the announcement himself.
“I’ll tell them tomorrow, I promise.”
.
Y/n refrained from announcing her pregnancy because she was the daughter of the principal. It was already challenging trying to get the teachers to treat her fairly and equally without special privileges. With the news of her pregnancy spreading around the school like wildfire, the staff and students all congratulated her.
“Haku,” Y/n has been pleading to the high school boy kneeling before her to stand up. “I’m fine, please… get up.”
He refuses to bulge. “I’m so sorry,” he said for the nth time. He felt even more guilty after hearing about her pregnancy.
“Okay, I accept your apology, please stand up now.” She has been trying to pull him up. Y/n suddenly thought of something. She cleared her throat before voicing hesitantly, “you know, me trying to get you off your knees will only make me stressed and upset…”
Haku immediately looked up at his teacher with panicked eyes and stood up, pulling his teacher up from a bending position.
Y/n smiled softly, patting him on the head, “it was an accident, I forgive you, okay?”
.
Y/n unwrapped the last snack Osamu had packed her, snacking on it and relaxing against her office chair.
“I’m so sorry Mrs. Miya, I cannot take you seriously at all.” Y/n’s colleague giggled, they burst out in a fit of giggles.
“I know – I can’t even take myself seriously at all when I see my reflection.” Y/n choked, wiping her teary eyes. “I noticed that Osamu can’t even look at me.”
The eye patch on her eye did make Y/n look a little ridiculous and she got plenty of stares when she was out in public but it was better than revealing the ugly shade of blue and purple skin underneath.
.
Y/n found her husband in their bed, crawled towards him, and swung her legs over Osamu’s body, straddling his waist. “Look at me,” Y/n demanded sternly before her serious expression morphed into a playful one. She cupped his face, forcing him to look at her. “Do you think I’m ugly with my purple eye?”
Osamu set his phone down, frowning before glaring at her. “You are not ugly at all.”
“Even with my purple eye?”
Osamu reached to pull her down so he could press a kiss to her forehead before pressing a kiss to her purple eye, murmuring, “even with your purple eye.”
Y/n slipped her arms around his neck, hugging him. “Good, for a second there I thought you found me ugly.”
Osamu rolled his eyes but a smile was on his lips. “It’s hard to take you seriously…”
Y/n hummed in agreement, pressing kisses to his neck. She could hear his breath hitch and smiled mischievously.
They have not had sex since they discovered she was pregnant two weeks ago.
“Y/n…” Osamu whispered his Adam’s Apple bobbed. He could feel her bare heat, rubbing over his cock, the only thing separating and preventing him from thrusting into her pussy was the cotton material of his boxers. “You’re really testing my control right now…”
Y/n lifted her head to stare down at him, “is that what it is? You haven’t touched me in two weeks because you’ve been controlling it?”
“I don’t want to hurt you and the baby.”
Y/n couldn’t help but giggle, “’Samu, love – you won’t hurt us. At all.”
He looked away with embarrassment, “I might be too hard on you…”
She pecked his lips softly, assuring him, “you won’t, I know you, you won’t ever hurt us intentionally.” Her hands shift to cup his chest, running her thumb over his nipples and making him hiss. “So, please make love to me, I need you.”
Osamu stares into his wife’s eyes, remembering why he fell in love with her in the first place. His lips curve into a smile and he looks away before chuckling. “Your purple eye…”
Y/n rolled her eyes, getting off of him and then off the bed.
Osamu tried to reach for her but missed. “Baby, please – don’t leave, come back… I’ll make love to you.”
“Hold on,” she murmured, going into their closet, she reached for the nearest tie and returned. “I’ll cover my eyes because I don’t want you killing the mood while I’m trying to cum.”
.
“Wish you could… see this…” Osamu said quietly, looking at his cock already oozing cum.
Kneeling in between her spread legs was his wife, eyes covered with his tie and wrists bound together with another tie.
“I never thought I get so turned on being tied up like this,” Y/n whispered, “I’m getting impatient, ‘Samu…”
Osamu presses the tip of his cock to her pussy, smearing his fluid against her clit. It absolutely makes him feral to spread his cum all over her. With her eyes covered, it was a different type of excitement within Osamu.
He pushed her tied wrists, positioning them above her head. “Be a good girl and keep it there at all times.”
“Yes, daddy…”
Osamu lets out a breath, “fuck – you just know how to push my buttons, don’t you?”
“I can push all your buttons, daddy.”
Hooking her legs over his shoulder, he folded her nearly in half and entered her in one full thrust. “I should enjoy fucking you in this position before your belly gets bigger.” His hips roll in smooth motions, “after all, this is the position that probably knocked you up.”
No matter how many times Osamu has taken her in this position, it always feels like the first. She remembers the first time Osamu discovered this position, and how deep he felt inside her, it has since then become his favorite position to put her in.
Her cute whimpers were in sync with his thrusts, exciting him, and making him fasten his pace.
“You feel so… soft… softer than usual,” he pants, “you’re squeezing me so tightly…”
“Osamu,” Y/n whimpered, “ah – I love it… I love how deep you are…”
Osamu shifted onto his knees, pounding deeper into her. Their room echoed with skin on skin.
“So close…” Y/n chanted, her belly coiled with tingles and tremors before cumming.
With a groan, Osamu slowed his pace, spilling his cum deep inside. His body jerked and tremble as Y/n’s pussy squeezed and milked every ounce out of him.
Osamu gently releases her legs. He grabs her bounded wrists and brings them over his head, hooking them around his neck. With a supported hand around her lower back, he tugs her upward.
He reached to pull down the tie covering her eyes. “Hey,” he smiles, kissing her. “You okay?”
“Yes,” she whispered against his lips, “that was mind-blowing.”

♡ Be my valentine? ~ Alex Albon ~ feb. 12
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: Alex is too nervous while asking Y/n out
__
The streets were busy as Alex tried to find his way to the flower shop. Cars zoomed past as Mac Miller played in his headphones. The soft white sweater Y/n brought him hugged his torso. The rain fell from the grey clouds.
His thoughts stopped when his eyes spotted the shop. It's size is little, the paint on the outside is a baby blue and sage green. Flowers and vines hanging from the ceiling, big windows had stickers adorning the edges.
A bell chimed as he stepped in, faint music playing. The heat of the lamps made him sweat. Soft lights blinked in every corner. The woman in the cashier's place is lent back talking on the phone
Alex's eyes catch on baby's breaths and pink roses. The combo made him smile.
&
"Be my valentine, Y/n?" His voice cracked as the woman in front of him stared and smiled. The beautiful flowers shone in his hands. The soft velvet of the bow holding the flowers together brushed his hands.
His eyes closed in anticipation. He could feel himself burning up as Y/n stayed silent. Her silk pink dress burned into his eyes, the rich color of vanilla in her bows made him smile.
He felt soft hands touch his cheeks, Y/n giggled at the red blush covering his face and neck.
"Of course, Alex why wouldn't i?" She whispered, the excitement in her voice blurring everything else. The paddock is no longer loud around them. The cars are no longer going. It's just them.

• After a few minutes, you got back with their order "Here you go one mochi cupcake and flavor cheesecake!" You handed them their treats in a small adorable box even tsuyu didn't want to eat the sweets or open the box "Thank you! Also, im wondering if can we catch up I really do miss you and I really really miss you alot we both do..heck I bet even most of our class misses you" you were a bit shocked at that statement "aw tsuyu ofc! Helloooo! Idk if you’ll be able to help with this but…might as well ask!
I have this issue when I write where, for some reason, I insist on starting every sentence with a pronoun or name. “He ______. [name] ___________. He_______.” etc etc, and I’m not too sure why I do this or how to stop it…do you have any advice?
I can for sure help with this!
This is called 'active voice', when you start with something like "he kicked the ball" rather than "the ball was kicked by him."
Active voice is not bad, but sometimes it's easy to get stuck only talking about the action instead of the surrounding stuff.
(I'm gonna name this guy Bo, so that I can not drive myself insane with 'the guy.')
If you feel like your pieces have too much of the action in them, it means you are not balancing action with perception. It's fast paced, clip-clip-clip without much room for the reader to process and visualize the paragraph.
This paragraph exhibits the problem you have:
"He went to the store to buy eggs. He drove for about eight miles, making sure to avoid the puddles. When he got to the store, he grabbed a red basket and hurried to buy his eggs. Bo walked quickly because it was busy, and the prices were good this week. He thanked the cashier and went home."
It reads like a checklist of actions, almost a to-do list. There isn't a lot of atmosphere, mood, or anything to break up the actions.
With creative writing, there's a lot of bending the rules artistically to fit your narrative. This is something I do to etch out the bare bones of a paragraph to avoid that pitfall:
Action, reaction, pivot, repeat.
"He went to the store to buy eggs. it had rained, so he made sure to drive carefully. The roads were slippery with the puddles. When he got to the store, he grabbed a red basket and hurried to the egg fridge. The store was packed; a new shipment came in and the prices were crazy low."
What this does is add an action, describe the context or any supplying details to the action, and then pick a new action. It adds a layer of fluff in between the information so that you can get a vibe of the story. I told the readers "He's driving to the store." How is he driving? Slowly, because it rained and the street is slick. Then I tell the readers he grabs a basket in a rush. Why? Because the store is busy, prices are good and he wants to get eggs before they're gone.
Instead of: "oh he went to the store and grabbed his eggs and left."
That's a pretty good start. From there, you can add bits of tone, any flair that adds to the story overall. All I can say it, make sure to 'zoom out' your writing lense to incorporate the setting and external action rather than only focusing on the character.
bye bye xox! good luck

Meet Cute, Time Loop | KSJ
Tumblr media
A story where Seokjin loves you before you love him before he loves you.
Fantasy AU. Seokjin x time traveler!reader
First of all, I never read the book The Time Traveler’s Wife. Okay, I did watch the movie with Rachel McAdams when I was a kid. And I started writing this before the HBO series, and got annoyed once I found out about it because I felt people would be like oh, you copied it, so I just stopped writing this story lol. But then with Seokjin’s enlistment news and now his b-day, I wanted to finish it for him ;_; So here you go, a story that is kind of sort of like Time Traveler’s Wife meets The Girl Who Leapt Through Time fueled by angst of not wanting him to leave :’D Enjoy!
Warnings: smut, age gap...in so many different ways...it's very complicated :’D, teacher/student, mention of unaliving, bigdick!seokjin because duh, oral sex, fingering, rough sex, praise kink
Word Count: 10.6k
---
Your first meeting with Seokjin wasn’t memorable. It was short and sweet, at a café on your college campus. He paid for your coffee. The coffee shop on campus was always busy, a long line at every hour and your card was embarrassingly not working in the card reader. You knew you were a broke college kid, but you definitely had enough for at least a coffee! You fumbled with your wallet offering the cashier your apologies when a man behind you stepped up to the counter and offered to pay, ordering a drink for himself as well. Embarrassed, you quickly tried to stop him, but he gave you a kind smile that stopped you in your tracks and he told you not to worry.
He was a professor, you were a student.
And he was already in love with you.
-
You find a quiet corner in the library to finish homework for your upcoming class, always the procrastinator. Looking up from your notes, you see the same stunning man again, now taking a seat across from you. The library was massive but somehow he went to this floor, this section, this corner, and decided to finish his class lecture notes at the same table as you.
You try not to be distracted every time he pushes his glasses up with a cute wrist flick, coughing and turning the page to one of his books. You stifle a laugh and continue going over your notes. But when you look up again, you notice he’s watching you. Suddenly self conscious from the attention, you smile back, jittery and timid. This man is perfectly put together and you look like you just rolled out of bed. Probably because you did, because for some reason, you had thought it was a good idea to schedule a morning class (it is always a bad idea). Hence, the coffee.
You meet him again that day.
You were hurrying to class, books in your hand, still sorting through notes when you stepped off the sidewalk. People around you were still moving, you thought you had time.
You weren’t paying attention.
Strong hands grip your shoulder and pull you back onto the sidewalk as a car horn signals, a bus zooming by you as you fall back into a warm body.
“Oh my god, I didn’t mean t-to – I wasn’t – I’m Sorry!”
“Whoa there, you’re okay, you’re okay.” Seokjin holds you steady until you stop shaking. Until you realize he’s the same man who paid for your coffee, who kept distracting you from your homework with his good looks, who doesn’t look familiar but feels familiar.
“Hey,” he smiles.
---
Seokjin’s first meeting with you happened when he was four years old. You were old – not your oldest – but older than you are now.
The first time you slipped through the cracks of time, you had really fallen.
You were on stage, amongst actors and directors and people infinitely more famous and important than you. But you were with them, having written the screenplay for the movie premiering that night. You were on a high stage, in the back, applauding everyone’s achievements. How it happened, no one knew, even with the hundreds of cameras, videos at every angle pointing at the stage at that moment...
You felt a tug, or perhaps a push; someone bumping into you or a fissure in the floor or you stumbling over your long dress or all three. It all happened so fast, it all culminating in one chaotic moment in time that left you falling.
Falling.
You fell head-over-heels, you slipped right over the stage barrier behind you.
You fell...
You fell into the sand, your silver sequined dress sparkling under the sunlight. Did you just die?
You can’t remember hitting the ground, your arm caught the edge and you held onto the stage for only seconds, it happened so quickly no one could get to you before the ledge slipped between your fingers. You were unprepared, unable to hold your body weight, and then your stomach lurched up and you felt the world slow down.
Life didn’t flash before your eyes like people said it would, not at all. All you could think about was, no, not yet, no! You didn’t want to die, not when your life was just starting, when your career was just becoming something! You wanted to live, you wanted to find love, you wanted-
“Help!”
Do people need help in heaven?
Oh no…
But you’re pretty sure you aren’t in hell either. What is this place?
A...beach?! You take one deep breath, standing up when you hear the call for help again.
You run towards the yelling, your heels digging into the sand and slowing you down with each step. There’s a young child crying, “My little brother!”
You see a child even younger struggling in the water, and then you don’t see him at all.
So without any other thought or question, you just act, running towards the ocean. You pull your body through the waves, moving quickly, diving underwater over and over again until you find him. You pull the drowning little boy from under the water, holding him close and patting his back.
He’s crying, that’s good, that means he can breathe, that he’s okay for now. If you hadn’t been there he surely would have drowned.
You swim towards the shore, cradling him close. Pulling your body out of the waves, your dress heavy with sea water, you put him down next to his brother, pushing the wet hair out of his eyes. “You’re okay now, you’re okay.” you whisper, trying to calm him down. He looks up at you awe-like.
‘What a sweet little boy with big innocent eyes,’ you think. “Where are your parents?” You ask his brother.
“B-Back at the house,” he cries.
You smiled at the cute pair, sighing in relief, and then before you could do anything else, you felt a pull...
Starting right under your belly button, a pull so strong it felt like a punch to your stomach, knocking the wind out of you, and your body started falling backwards.
You fell backwards into the crowd below, right into Seokjin’s arms.
He was invited by one of the actors at the premiere, his long time friend. With his looks he could fit right in with the celebrities, but he didn’t like big crowds and chose to stay in the back. Right in the exact spot where you needed him. When everyone looked on in horror, when others scattered, he looked up and saw you and knew what he had to do.
You try to catch your breath, gasping. Suddenly thrown back into the chaos of the premiere, flashing lights only amplifying your dizziness and confusion. You look down at the arms around you, and up into your savior’s face. “S-Seokjin?!”
Your dress was soaked, your hair was wet, your body was still shaking as he held you close. You both laid on the red carpet and the sight was too incredible for photographers not to turn and aim their cameras right at the pair of you.
“Y/n,” he smiles softly. Then, stands up quickly, carrying you in his arms as staff rush to conceal the spectacle, and you felt swept off your feet for a second time that night.
---
When Seokjin first saw you, he thought you were an angel. Your shiny sequined dress was sparkling in the sunlight, blinding him. Your soft voice telling him he would be okay sounded ethereal to his water clogged ears, the sight of you on the beach was something he never forgot even at his young age.
His parents later found him alone on the beach. His brother ran to them and told them what happened, but they never found you. They believed their children made up the story, a consequence of their overactive imaginations, but couldn’t deny the signs of Seokjin’s condition, immediately taking him to the hospital and finding out there was some truth to their tall tale.
The second time Seokjin met you he was six. He was older and you were older. Much older, a small gray streak apparent in the front of your hair. He almost didn’t recognize you, but your voice was the same, soft and kind, and your eyes were the same, caring and beautiful.
Six year old Seokjin still thought you were an angel deep down, someone sent to come save him, even if his older brother stopped believing and told him to quiet any time Seokjin brought it up.
And his feelings only solidified because the second time he met you you had grabbed his tiny hand and pulled him back onto the sidewalk. He watched as his ball was flattened by a car. It could have been him, he stood stunned. You were slower, your limbs weaker, but you saved him.
You felt it was your time to leave again. “Y/n, my name is y/n.”
“Don’t leave me,” he cried and clung to your dress.
You smooth down his hair, tutting. You sigh, heart hurting because you knew he was going to be upset with you later. “We’ll find each other again, sweetheart, don’t worry.”
The next time Seokjin crossed paths with you, you were the same age as when he first met you, same shiny dress, a jacket now over your shoulders, looking around confused and lost.
He called out your name, waving you over enthusiastically.
You hesitantly went over to the over-zealous boy. “I’m – um – w-what’s going on?!”
“You’re here to save me again,” he smirks proudly.
“I-I am?”
“Yeah, I think so. Every time I meet you, you save me.” Young Seokjin was definitely convinced you were his guardian angel.
“I-I think I am going crazy. Am I going crazy?” You fall to the ground at the boy’s feet, exhausted, dizzy, definitely delirious.
He yanks on your arm, wanting you to move, whining for you to get up. Why does he look so familiar? If you hadn’t just been in his arms you would have never made the connection… This boy could be Seokjin’s son, they look so identical, too identical. “S-Seokjin?”
“You do know me!”
“This can’t be happening. No no no no.” You look at the young boy, mind reeling. This has to be a dream. You must have fainted. The last thing you remember, Seokjin was with you, and-
You put your head in your hands, willing yourself to wake up.
You feel small hands pull at your shoulder. “Get uuup! Let’s go!”
“W-What?”
“My mom will be worried if I don’t go home. I’m not supposed to stay out late,” he whines.
You let the boy pull you along, hunched over and confused. Everything looked different, older, different clothes, different cars. You try not to hyperventilate.
He stops in front of his house, creaking open the door and looking around for his mom. “Go to the back, I’ll meet you there!” he says, pushing you to the side.
This is a bad idea. But you have nobody else and you’re ninety percent certain you’re dreaming. So you hide in the bushes in Seokjin’s back yard, dumbfounded, waiting to wake up.
“Here, I brought you some food. D-Do angels eat food?” He pulls a meat bun and a half-eaten kimbap from under his shirt.
“Eh?”
You looked really lost, maybe you hit your head coming back to him this time, Seokjin wonders. Little hands cover your forehead, checking your temperature and you flinch.
“I-I’m sorry, I just don’t understand what’s happening to me...” You begin to cry.
Seokjin winces, “Wait here!” and a few moments later he comes back with his older brother, “See, told you.”
“Whoa.”
“Now do you believe me?” Seokjin says accusingly, crossing his arms.
“Do you, um, remember us?” Seokjin’s brother asks, looking at you with a mixture of awe and worry. You look at him bewilderedly, tears still falling steadily from your eyes. “Do you remember when you saved my brother?”
You look between the pair, staring up at their big innocent eyes. Wait…wait. What?!
“You saved my life,” Seokjin says proudly, but then he recoils, noticing your bewilderment. “D-Don’t you remember? Y/n?”
“Y-You know my name,” you whisper.
“You told me, the last time you saved me,” Seokjin states.
You pull on Seokjin’s jacket, covering yourself. “You’re talking about the beach, right?” you mutter. Of course, this was all a dream, it was all merging together now, you think.
Seokjin smiles wide, nodding, ecstatic you do remember him.
“Should we tell mom?” Seokjin’s brother asks.
“No!” “No!” you and Seokjin say at the same time. “I will leave,” you say. “I’ll go…somewhere…” You mutter, hoping you wake up soon.
“No, you can’t! You’re-” Seokjin pauses. “You’re supposed to be my guardian angel.”
You swallow hard, deliberating on what to do, the young boy looks like he is going to cry at any moment. Well, since this is a dream, then you guess you should be acting the part. “Oh, o-okay.”
“D-Do angels sleep?”
You laugh, sighing. That’s what you’re doing right now, you want to tell him.
-
Seokjin shakes you awake. “I have to go to school. You’re coming aren’t you?”
You groan, sleeping outside in your dreams seemed to hurt even more than you would have imagined. Even with the blanket and pillow Seokjin gave you, you barely slept, replaying the last twenty-four hours over and over in your head.
“C’mon! You’re supposed to be my guardian angel, how are you supposed to guard me here?” He says, dejected.
You sigh. “O-Okay.”
You hug your shoulders, pulling Seokjin’s jacket closer to you. The hem of your dress is tied up, your feet are hurting in your heels. Young Seokjin tells you everything about his life so far. His friends found a cat and were taking turns to feed it. He had a tuna can in his tiny hand. He told you about his friends and his older brother, his mom and father. He talked about his teacher, who was so boring he couldn’t concentrate in class. He got in trouble for napping, he explained. You listened to the troubles of a child, barely concentrating, your own thoughts too jumbled in your mind. Seokjin talked and talked until a small orange stray cat leaped into your path.
You watched as he opened and set the can down on the sidewalk. The cat pounced on the food, hungrily eating the entirety of the tuna can. You smile as Seokjin pets his fluffy coat, cooing. You pulled off your heels, rubbing your feet. “You’re a good kid.”
Young Seokjin laughs, a sense of pride washing over him. He can’t wait to show you off to his friends. He hears something fall to the ground, your shoe, and when he looks up again, you’re gone.
---
The next time Seokjin met you, you appeared in his room. He couldn’t help but laugh. You were in a silk robe, looking lost and confused again. Falling into his tiny bed, he looks over his shoulder.
“Hey angel.” Seokjin looked exactly how you remembered him, only his features were less rugged from old age, instead young and soft.
“Seokjin?” You look into his red eyes, puffy from crying.
There was an unopened bottle of alcohol on his night stand, next to a bottle of…white pills?
“W-What’s going on?”
“Well, I guess, you’ve come to tell me not to kill myself,” he says with a weak smile.
Your eyes begin to sting as tears start pooling in the corners, looking at the offending contents on his nightstand again to make sure indeed nothing had yet been opened. Your voice shakes as you ask him, “W-Why?”
“I can’t do this anymore. I’ve tried, I tried so hard,” he whimpers, pulling his pillow closer and curling into himself. “I keep disappointing everyone. My mom...” he stifles a sob.
When were you? You look around frantically, studying his tiny dorm room. College, Seokjin is in college now. You fall to your knees at his bedside, your heart aching for him.
You hold his hand in yours, “You don’t disappoint her, you never have. You can’t do this. I won’t let you-”
Seokjin sits up, yanking his hand away. “Where have you been?” Seokjin’s voice breaks. “You never came back! Even when I needed you. I was all alone…”
When Seokjin was a kid he would wait for you. Walk slowly to and from school. Every day, he would hope his angel would appear. And then when you didn’t, he still held hope. He waited for you, every other day, and then once a week, until he stopped waiting all together, but even still, he thought about his angel every day.
As a teenager he thought he must have made you up, an imaginary friend for a lonely child…
But he had your shoe.
The older he got, the angrier he became. Crayon drawings of you in angel wings turned into resentful memories. By then you were just a faint memory, a woeful thought, and a fantasy when he was really lonely.
Seokjin went through life a little less hopeful then. He went to tutoring and classes and sports and singing lessons, all to please his parents, who wanted nothing but the best for the child they almost lost. His superstitious mother believed he was destined for great things.
But all those great things never happened. He had the looks, but the girls he grew up with didn’t really like him for who he was, they didn’t laugh at his jokes or like doing the mundane things he liked to do. They would parade him in front of their friends to show off and he felt used, misunderstood, broken hearted more times than he could count.
He had the intellect, but he lacked the motivation, he would become too distracted with games or get lost in his imagination, and assignments would pile up and then he would feel overwhelmed, crippled by all his duties.
He had the build to become a top athlete, but he would too often hurt himself, his aching joints and broken bones stopped him from ever reaching any professional status. No matter what he did, he felt like a failure. And in this low moments, he thought, maybe then he would find some guidance, some help. But it never came, you never came to him.
Seokjin had what it took to become great, everyone told him so, but in his mind he just wasn’t. Their expectations were all becoming too much to live up to. He felt overshadowed by even his own brother. He felt his confidence dwindle, his hope growing smaller and smaller, it was like an endless loop he couldn’t free himself from. He couldn’t save himself.
He needed you.
He was in his last year of university and he hated his classes, he didn’t know if he was going to graduate. He didn’t know what he was going to do with his life. So he thought, might as well end it.
“You’re going to leave again, like you always do. So leave! Leave me alone, just let me die,” he cries, pushing you away.
“Oh, Seokjin,” you wrap your arms around him, refusing to let him go. Hugging him close, you cry in each other’s arms.
He still smells exactly the same, moves the same, has the same nervous ticks, after all these years. Your sweet husband Seokjin.
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there when you needed me, I’m so sorry,” you whisper. “But you’re not going to die today. You’re going to live a wonderful life, you’re going to be happy, you won’t be alone. I won’t let you be alone anymore. Trust me, believe me.”
“How do you know that?” Seokjin asks desperately. He holds your head in his hands, studying your features under the low light in his dorm. “Y-You…look different.”
You laugh softly, blinking away your remaining tears. “I hope not that different.”
He holds your cheeks, thumb caressing your skin. “You’re not wearing that dress…” He looks over the thin material of your robe, the low cut of it, showing off your cleavage. You feel so real and human in his hold, so warm, so familiar.
Growing up, in his child-like wonder and imagination, Seokjin remembered you almost goddess-like. Something untouchable, reverent, but now that you’re here with him again as a young adult, you felt so small and vulnerable next to him, raw and real. He found you beautiful in your vulnerability.
“I’ve never seen you like this before. If you’re not an angel then what are you?” You stay quiet against him. “Why do you keep finding me? ”
“I don’t know if it’s the right time to explain this to you.”
Seokjin chuckles, “I was going to kill myself tonight. I think now is the best time to explain things.” You wince hearing his confession. “Please, I…I’ve waited so long to see you again.”
You feel splintered by his words. You wish you had control of this, you wish you could have gone to see him earlier and told him not to wait. Seokjin was waiting for the wrong version of you.
Waiting only drew it out, the inevitability, it was torturous to wait. Moments with Seokjin were going to always happen and would always have been. The way time worked around you, it wasn’t time that was changing, forward and backward for you moved in the same direction. That was never going to change, only you and Seokjin changed.
“I can’t control what is happening to me,” you sigh, leaning your forehead on his. “I don’t know why this is happening…to us. I’m sorry, when we meet again, I won’t remember you, because I haven’t met you yet.”
“But you-”
You shake your head no. “You’ve already met me, but I haven’t met you. Seokjin, how old are you right now?”
Seokjin continues to caress your face, mesmerized. Seokjin can’t bring himself to let go of you, not when you’re here after all these years. After a decade of convincing himself you weren’t real, only to be so tangible now, so close he can smell you, with the same beautiful eyes he almost had forgotten.
You look at him so full of care as always, except now, as he stared into your eyes, face to face, your gaze held something that reached inside of him, that burned into his soul. The adoring way you looked at him made his weak dejected self feel strong again.
When your eyes looked across his features, down his body, he felt something surge inside of him, feelings he had always held close to his heart. You were an idolization to him growing up, but here you were, a mere woman staring at him like he was your world instead.
And suddenly Seokjin thought he might have the answer he was looking for, looking down at your hands resting in your lap, a gold band around on your ring finger, and a gem that sent him back to his childhood, looking through his mother’s things. He thought back to the grayness in your hair and back to your lost younger looking self. But the answer in his head sounded so unbelievable he had to hear you say it.
“I’m turning twenty-three.”
“Twenty-three,” you repeat, nodding, working the math out in your head, “Right now I would be…eighteen. But I’m thirty-three. And when I go back to where I came from, back to you, you’ll be thirty-eight.”
“And…the next time I see you again, you’ll be?” he asks, putting the pieces of your lives together.
You smile, “Twenty-two. I meet you when I’m twenty-two. You saved my life,” you smile wider, “and bought me coffee.”
“I save you?” he asks, eyes widening.
“And bought me coffee. Don’t forget,” you giggle. “Seokjin, I’m sorry it’s not going to get easier. I’m going to be much more difficult to convince,” you sigh. “But trust me, you still have so much more to live for.”
“Y/n, are w-we together…in the future?”
One look at you and Seokjin knew the answer even in your silence.
So he wasted no more time.
Seokjin kissed you, immediately, fervently, with love and passion not even yet experienced by him, but he felt it already inside him anyways, as if his love could travel across time even when you couldn’t.
You broke his kiss, “It’s not time yet to-” you whisper, trying to give this version of him space, he wasn’t yours to kiss yet.
“But we are together, in the future, aren’t we? You’re my wife,” he glances down at the gold band on your finger, reaching in for another kiss.
“We’re not married right now,” you push against his chest when he closes the small distance between you again.
“But you’re still my wife,” he grunts, lips against the side of your jaw.
“Not yet, Seokjin,” you close your eyes, thinking of your husband as Seokjin’s eager hands caress your body.
“I love you.”
“We haven’t even met yet! Not really. We haven’t dated-”
“I love you, I know I love you.”
You exhale defeatedly. “I love you too, but not this version of you, you’re still a baby-”
“But I-I’m me!” Seokjin laughs incredulously. “And I'm a man,” he says, offended.
You sigh, not knowing how to explain to him the intricacies of your relationship. “How would you feel knowing your wife was kissing a different version of you?”
“I would be totally okay with it,” Seokjin says stubbornly, head buried in your neck.
“Seokjin I’m older than you-”
“Is that supposed to matter to me?” He holds you tightly, afraid you’ll disappear from his life and he’d have to wait four more years before he could hold you like this again. No, you weren’t going to leave him until he proved to you how much he loved you, how he always loved you.
He kisses you again, pulling you into his bed. He refuses to listen to your excuses, he loves you and you love him and that’s enough for him. He traces the contours of your face down to your jaw, admiring every inch of you, enjoying your rapidly increasing breathes and the affect he has on you.
He moves his hand over your heart, on top of your breast. “Have you-” you put your hand over his. “-had sex before?” you ask.
“Yes,” Seokjin says indignantly, ears going red.
You giggle, “Good, don’t stop once I leave. You have four years before we find each other again, promise you won’t wait for me anymore? Enjoy your life, we’ll have our time, so don’t worry anymore, Seokjin.”
Seokjin swallows, not wanting to agree with you. “Alright. If tonight…you’ll be with me.” You hold his cheek. Stubborn man, ‘like always,’ you think, smiling. You answer him with a kiss.
Seokjin could feel your breasts, only covered by the sheer fabric of your robe, pressed up against him. He shuddered in your embrace, lips moving down your neck, across your chest, pressing his face into your cleavage.
What are you supposed to do when a younger version of your husband was timidly fondling your body, starved for love and affection? Up until now, you had always been the more submissive one in your relationship. Your husband has always been doting in his affection, but this level of tenderness, sweet infatuation with you was so unfamiliar, yet so your Seokjin.
You run your hands in his hair, holding him to your chest as he pulls your robe down lower.
“You didn’t tell me about this day,” you gasp, chest heaving as his mouth covers your breast, tongue rolling over your nipple and sucking.
‘Good,’ Seokjin thinks about his older self, vowing to keep his silence on the matter until the day he dies. If this is the result, he wants nothing to change it. He unties your robe delicately, like opening a present he’s waited his entire life for.
Seokjin pulls his shirt over his head hastily, wanting to feel your skin on his, needing you closer. You kiss him slowly, opening your mouth wider for him as he fumbles with his buckle.
His cock is painfully erect, knocking against his stomach when he finally frees himself, all the blood rushing down in his excitement, Seokjin can barely think straight with you under him, your legs spread open and naked.
You help guide him in, licking his chest, tongue rolling over his nipple, already knowing all the things he likes. Seokjin shudders, groaning in pleasure as he sinks into your heat, lost in bliss. He thrusts into your sex quick and rough. This version of Seokjin is impatient, needy...uncoordinated…
You don’t mind.
You throw your head back, encouraging him on, moaning his name. Seokjin thrusts in deep, he certainly had the stamina of a twenty-two year old, and the clumsiness. You pull him down by the neck, licking into his mouth until his pace slows, unable to concentrate on anything else. He kneads your breast, rutting into you.
You break away for much needed air, fixing the loose strands of Seokjin’s hair and tucking them behind his ear. Kissing his cheek, you whisper into his ear, “My turn.” You cant your hips up, ordering him to switch positions.
“Oh f-fuck,” Seokjin moans at the way you pull yourself up slowly and drop down hard and fast, rotating your hips. This was nothing like the sex he had with young inexperienced college girls. “Oh god.”
His fingers dig into the flesh of your thighs, as he thrusts up into your inviting heat. You grab his hands, holding them above his head instead, slowing your rhythm as he hisses, thigh muscles tightening as he concentrates on the pleasure he’s receiving.
He looks devastatingly handsome, his hair longer than you remember, shaggy and sticking to his forehead, leaner body writhing under you as his head tilts back, showing off his strong jaw and long neck. You moan, knowing he’s close, you’ve seen all these same jerks and spasms during many and many nights together. You tighten around his thick length, fingers touching his plump lips and pressing down into his open mouth.
“Fuck, fuck-ungh-I’m g-gonna-”
You pull yourself up one last time before gripping his length. Moving yourself down his body, you cover his cock with your mouth, licking up his shaft.
Seokjin pants, wound up so tightly, unable to hold it in any longer. His fingers tangle themselves into your hair, pushing you all the way down the length of his cock and then pulling you off, holding you still.
He burns the image in his brain, your kiss-bitten lips, eyes darkened with lust, mouth open for him, spurts of his cum dripping down your cheeks, fuck, he’s glad he’s still alive…
-
“I love you. Every time. Every where,” you whisper, looking at Seokjin sleeping against you, his handsome features softened in his slumber. Seokjin snores, waking up with a drowsy hum.
“Seokjin, what’s your major?” you yawn into his chest.
“Business and Finance,” he murmurs, half-asleep, holding you lightly in his embrace.
You snort softly, moving the hair out of his eyes. “Get a degree in teaching and become a professor’s aid here. It will help pay for the extra classes you’ll need.”
“Teaching?”
You nod. “You’ll love teaching, trust me,” you smile.
“My mother won’t like that,” Seokjin frowns.
“That’s not true, also, you’re not going to be a professor forever,” you grin.
“What am I going to do?” Seokjin asks curiously. You shake your head, “You’ll figure it out, don’t worry. Please, don’t worry yourself this much again,” you say more seriously, glancing over at the things on his nightstand one last time. “Promise me?”
His fingers tighten around yours reassuringly and he brings your hand to his mouth, kissing your knuckles. “I won’t. The hardest part was not knowing…now the hard part is over,” Seokjin smiles rolling over to his side and pulling you in closer.
You were afraid for Seokjin the hardest part was just beginning.
When Seokjin woke up the next morning you were gone.
And you woke up in his arms again. His lips automatically find yours, waking up with a drowsy hum, your husband Seokjin kisses you deeply.
“You didn’t tell me-”
“It was a secret I was going to take the grave,” he murmurs, half-asleep, holding you lightly in his embrace.
You nibble on his neck, pressing yourself closer, needy for him; the version of him that knows all your turn ons and how to drive you wild with pleasure, that can skillfully bring you to ecstasy over and over, who you love more than anyone in the world. Every where. Every time. You call out his name in a whiny moan.
Oh, Seokjin’s glad he’s still alive.

---
What…What happened?
You feel like a freight train ran over and flattened you. Warm hands trail across your jawline, forcing your eyes open.
“S-Seokjin?” you wince, sitting up. Where were you? You and Seokjin were tucked away in the theater’s breakroom, hidden away from cameras and curious premiere-goers. “What are you doing here?”
“I was invited. The second lead, um, Kim Taehyung, invited me, it was supposed to be a surprise…” he laughs awkwardly. “Your dress…” he smiles softly, wiping the sand off.
You grab his wrist, stopping him from touching you any further, already hot in the face from where he brushed the sand off your lap. “M-My head-”
“It’s okay, you’re going to be okay-”
“What h-happened?” you ask in disbelief. You were just on a beach, weren’t you?
“You need to calm down-”
“I was – I fell and I-I don’t know – there was a b-beach?!” You feel like the world is spinning, about to pass out again. You fall against Seokjin, failing to stand up.
You look around. This isn’t real. Everything feels weird and off. You were just on a beach! You feel the salt itch your skin still, your hair is still damp. This isn’t possible. This isn’t real.
“So you didn’t even know…”
You shiver, hugging your body, realizing you had his jacket wrapped around your shoulders. You wince, lifting your head up from his chest. “I need to go…I need to-” you spot an open door leading to a bathroom and you push yourself up.
“Wait!”
You push him away, stumbling into the bathroom and shutting the door. But before you can lock it-
Seokjin chases after you. He opens the door and you’re already gone.
---
This is the third time this weird professor has rushed to your side once you reached the barista’s counter and paid for your drink. You finally snap at him when he takes a seat across from you again. He was stalking you! It was impossible this was a coincidence, instead of sitting at your usual spot on the third floor, you took the elevator to the fifth, finding the furthest open spot you could find, tucked away behind bookshelves.
“Did you want something?!” you yell, being shushed by others.
“Huh? No?”
You glare at him, hot in the face. “You’re following me.”
He adjusts his glasses nervously. “No? I’m not-”
“You are! You are,” you say quieter. “I can pay for my own coffee, you don’t have to keep doing that. Thank you, but just s-stop!”
“I’m sorry!” he whispers. “I...I wanted to ask you the first time I f– met you, but I…chickened out. I think you’re really beautiful and I really wanted to get to know you more and…will you go on a date with me?”
“Eh?”
“A date,” he says a matter-of-factly.
“I…” Is he really asking you out on a date? “I don’t date professors.”
Even if he’s devastatingly handsome, quite possibly the most breathtaking man you’ve ever encountered, the feelings you felt when your eyes locked felt stronger than mere attraction. Emotions you weren’t used to strummed across the strings of your heart. Whenever you looked at Seokjin, the tug you felt pulling at the pit of your stomach felt too strong to ignore and it frightened you. It...weirded you out!
“Then I’ll quit,” he mutters something softly to himself you don’t quite catch, something about not planning on teaching forever.
“Are you on drugs?”
“N-No!” he pauses, recollecting himself. “Please, y/n, let me take you out, just one date.”
You stand up, letting the chair scrape loudly within the quiet study space as it’s pushed back. “H-How do you know my name?!”
“Your name? I, um, I, uh, I saw it on your coffee cup! The first day we…um, met.”
He’s obviously lying. You close your binder, gathering your homework. “Stay away from me,” you hiss, making sure to whisper as to not bother those around you.
“Wait!” he grabs you by the arm, pulling you back to him. “Please.”
You swallow, frozen by his intense pleading gaze. “Let me go or I’ll scream,” you whisper.
His hand cups your cheek. You look down at his wrist, the warmth of his fingers spreading over your skin, Why does he touch you like that? Why does it bring up these feelings you’ve never felt before? What is happening?!
You pull away, walking quickly, no, it definitely looked like running as Seokjin watched you flee. He stops himself from running after you, frowning. His approach was definitely not working. He runs a hand through his hair, cracking his neck, wondering how the hell your relationship could possibly progress to anything close to a marriage when you looked like you wanted to jump out of your skin anytime Seokjin came close to you.
‘It’s okay,’ he tells himself. Seokjin has you in his life now, your “meetings” would be on his terms now.
He was a successful drama professor, many of his students went on to work in movies and television. Instead of letting his worries consume him, he found himself learning how to live in the moment, because after all, he wasn’t the one who had the ability to change the past...and the future, even if he wasn’t so sure there was a flexibility to that either, he looked forward to it. So despite your retreating figure, he smiled.
-
“Can you please stop following me?!” You hold your books close to your chest after bumping into Seokjin in front of his next class.
“I’m not,” Seokjin defensively, readjusting his briefcase, red in the face, “We just keep running into each other-”
“You expect me to believe that when I’ve been on this campus for two years and now suddenly y-you’re everywhere I go. L-Like you are just…appearing out of thin air!”
Seokjin looks down, chuckling. “Maybe the universe is trying to tell us something?”
You pause. “The universe doesn’t care about us that much,” you mutter, turning away.
Seokjin pulls you back. Seokjin blinks, watching you as you keep your eyes low, unable to meet his own out of shyness. “Instead of a date, let's just…go out as friends?”
“Friends?”
Seokjin nods. “Yeah, if we keep running into each other like this, at least it won’t be so awkward anymore.”
You slowly nod, agreeing.
---
Seokjin waits until he hears a thump in the bathroom, something falling onto the floor. He pushes the door open wider, finding your shaking figure on the floor.
“H-How is this possible?” It was supposed to be a dream. You look down at your bare foot. If it wasn’t a dream, then that means…
You look up at Seokjin, now older, but with the same innocent eyes...
“I don’t know, but I’m happy I was able to save you again. You saved me so many times I just stopped questioning it,” Seokjin smiles, bending down and reaching for you.
You look down to his arm, his hand on your cheek. You don’t know how to react, overwhelmed. “Y-You knew about this the whole time?”
“I tried to tell you sooner, I didn’t know how…” he looks down at your sequined dress, unable to keep his emotions from resurfacing.
“Seokjin…I’m scared,” you feel tears well up in your eyes too, horrified at what could happen to you now.
“You don’t have to be scared,” he reassures you, hugging you. “I don’t think it happens very often. You find me six more times before now.”
“You? I go to you again?” you ask anxiously. Seokjin nods, “Why?”
Seokjin laughs softly. “You save my life.”
“Like the beach?” you murmur.
Seokjin nods, not wanting to tell you the whole truth. “Yeah, like the beach.” He fixes the collar of his coat around you, “My guardian angel.” He sends you a timid half grin, so cute you couldn’t help but laugh, drying your tears on his coat sleeve.
The premiere actually went really well after the initial chaos. You and Seokjin found seats in the back of the movie theater. Pretending something life changing didn’t just happen to you, you sat through the movie, trying to enjoy the product of your hard work. You skipped the after party, in favor of burgers and a milkshake, not wanting to deal with any more craziness. Big parties like that were never your thing anyways.
“I need a shower,” you scratch your head, taking a big bite of your burger.
You and Seokjin found a seat on top a pier, listening to the waves. He eats his fries. “My hotel is only a couple blocks from here, we can go there if you want.”
“Thank you,” you fix his hair, blown out of place by the wind.
You sigh. Seokjin was always sweet to you, helped you more times than you could count in college. And now that you knew the reason why, you feel uneasy. “You know, you don’t have to do this anymore, feel like you owe me something because I saved your life.”
“Hey, I saved you a couple times too, didn’t I?” he teases.
“Yeah,” you laugh. You still felt guilty. Seokjin was your best friend. You can’t believe you became best friends with the child you saved.
“I’m sorry,” you mumble, thinking of the start to your odd friendship. “You were trying to tell me when we first met, right? I was horrible to you back then, I’m sorry,” you pout.
“Yeah,” Seokjin lies. “Why were you so mean to me back then?” he bumps your shoulder with his.
You bite your lip, looking at the dark rolling waves. Throughout the movie you couldn’t pay attention, thinking back on everything you experienced, replaying the moments you and Seokjin had gone through. Once you warmed up to him, it was easier to push those initial feelings away. Seokjin was your good friend, a mentor, if it weren’t for him, you’re not too sure you would have made it to where you were now, an accomplished writer.
Seokjin was handsome, kind, sweet, funny. He was the perfect man. You didn’t deserve him. Deep down you knew that, and you didn’t want to lose him. Seokjin asked you out a couple times after your first meeting, and you always refused him, because you knew you loved him too much to risk a relationship. Growing up your relationships never worked out, you were always left heartbroken. If you were to date him, it would be too devastating to lose him.
“Well, you did follow me around like a creepy stalker,” you joke, trying to avoid the truth.
Seokjin scoffs, sipping on his milkshake.
“I’m sorry,” you whisper, “Being around you scared me-”
“What?!” Seokjin yells.
“No! I didn’t mean it like that! I think maybe, I felt something, like maybe deep down I knew something was different about you. It scared me,” you sigh. “The feelings…” you look up at his wide eyes, “N-Not feelings! I mean…emotions? I don’t know what I mean,” you laugh awkwardly, drinking your milkshake.
Seokjin stays silent and looks away, finishing his burger.
“Y/n, will you go on a date with me?”
“If this is about me saving your life-”
Seokjin scoffs, smirking, “It’s about me loving you since the first time I saw you.”
“Seokjin…” He can’t mean that, he can’t.
What do you even say to something like that? By saving his life did you end up ruining it? He was just an impressionable boy, but even after years of knowing him in his adulthood, Seokjin still honestly believes that?
“Just one date,” Seokjin swallows, determined “and I’ll never ask you again.”
“Just one date,” you whisper, barely able to use your voice, unease washing over you.
Seokjin smiles wide, undoing his tie, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders.
Finally.
---
Seokjin texts you he’s on his way.
Oh god, oh god oh god oh god.
You fix your hair for the hundredth time tonight.
This was a horrible, horrible idea. Everything about this was weird. You shouldn’t be doing this. You check your clock. Is there time to back out?
You were afraid there was no way to stop this without Seokjin hating you, he’s been so patient up until this point, never becoming angry with you when you refused his advances. But now you feel you’ve reached the tipping point. Could he forgive you if you changed your mind?
But the thought of him giving up on you and pursuing someone else, made your insides twist. You know he deserves someone better, someone who wasn’t anxious all the time, who wasn’t too scared to show affection, someone without a short temper, someone who looked as beautiful as him, and most importantly, someone who did not have a condition where she fell through time!
-
Seokjin texts you he’s on his way.
No answer.
Seokjin calls you.
No answer.
He knocks on your door.
No answer.
Seokjin knocks harder.
“Hey love.”
Seokjin turns around, bumping right into you. You crash your lips into his, wrapping your arms around his neck.
Seokjin goes mute. You’re wearing a tight dress, hair made up, diamond jewelry around your neck, a present Seokjin gave you on your anniversary.
You look beautiful. But Seokjin can tell you’re not the same woman. You’re more mature, more relaxed around him.
“C’mon, we have a date tonight, right?” You grab him by the jacket, pulling him into another kiss. It was wild and heated, Seokjin could taste alcohol on your lips.
“Y-Y/n?! You’re from the future!”
“You bend down, pulling up the door mat, holding up a spare key. “I don’t think I’ll mind if I take a visit.”
“Where’s my y/n?” You pull him into your dark apartment. “W-What if you come home.”
“I won’t,” you smile, putting the key on top of your counter, and touch the calendar pinned to your wall, at the date. “Tonight I’m already-” you lift the calendar up to December, “-around four years later, here. And I’m here.”
“You’re…around the same age as me right now.”
You smile, biting your lip, nodding, your eyes sparkling.
You jump on your kitchen counter, winking at him. You’re a little drunk and you’re missing your anniversary dinner. You hope your Seokjin isn’t mad at you, but you’re sure he will understand. You’ll make it up to him when you get back. If you were brought here, it meant Seokjin needed you.
“This was supposed to be our first date,” Seokjin says breathlessly.
“That’s right,” you hold your hand out. “I was a nervous wreck,” you laugh, remembering. Maybe it was you who really had needed the help. “Ahh I remember now.”
“So, I guess that means I get a second date,” he holds your hand, letting you pull him in.
“Oh you get many dates,” you whisper into his mouth, lips rubbing across his own.
Seokjin has been visited by an older version of you a handful of times now. He was starting to feel troubled by the fact that the only time you ever seemed to want him was when you time traveled back to him. This time happened to be the closest he’s gotten to his version of you. That means, in less than four years, he’ll finally get to have you like this all the time. He tries not to feel impatient, but, god, he can’t wait.
He pushes his tongue inside your inviting mouth, yanking your body closer to the edge of the counter.
This was your Seokjin, the one you first fell in love with, so dominating and strong with a desperation in his actions you haven’t experienced in awhile. You fist his shirt, pulling him closer to you, moaning into each other’s mouths.
-
This is not your home.
Oh no. The last thing you remember, you were trying to think of a way to escape your date with Seokjin and then you tripped, or at least you think you tripped, and the world felt like it turned upside down. And now you’re…where are you?
“There you are, I was wondering where you went off to!”
You turn around, face to face with the man in question. “Seokjin?”
“Yes,” he laughs, “Are you okay? Wait.”
You stand awkwardly in the middle of his living room. “Y/n? Did you time travel?” You nod quickly. He looks around for his y/n. In his old age he was always nervous when you would visit him, he knew you couldn’t exactly save him from a stroke or heart attack, but he always assumed the worst if you fell in unexpectedly. “Am I…in danger?”
“No! I mean, I don’t think so? Fuck…I fucked up. I think…I think this might have been me, this time,” you groan.
“What do you mean?”
“I– Are we still friends?” you look closer at Seokjin, he looks older, not by much, but there was definitely a difference between your Seokjin and him.
Seokjin laughs. “Yeah, you could say that.”
“So I didn’t ruin our friendship,” you sigh in relief.
“When did you come from,” Seokjin asks, curious.
“Oh, um,” you weren’t so sure you wanted to remind him. You look around. This place is much nicer than his current home, you notice. You’re happy for him.
Seokjin watches as you look around his home. “Like the place?”
“It’s beautiful, the kitchen, wow,” you laugh in awe. Seokjin smiles at your reaction. You said the same thing when he brought you to this home, asking if you wanted it.
“You look beautiful. What’s the occasion?” You wore a low-cut pastel dress, the short skirt flowed over your hips, showing off your legs. You hadn’t put your heels on yet, standing barefoot on his rug.
“A date,” you mumble.
Seokjin pours himself two drinks. Walking over to you, he hands you a glass. “Who’s the lucky gentlemen?” he teases.
You drink the alcohol to calm your nerves. “You’re from the future, right? Shouldn’t you know?”
“Technically, you’re from the past. And I want to hear you say it, y/n,” he takes another long drink.
“You are mad at me for leaving,” you bite your lip.
“You still haven’t figured it out,” Seokjin sighs. “Look at me, do you think I would be still mad at you for something that happened so long ago? Do you think I could ever be mad at you like that? Do you think I could ever stop loving you?” Seokjin holds your cheek against his palm, the same gesture he always does, unable to help himself from touching you.
“You can’t just love me because I saved your life once when you were a kid, Seokjin. That’s not…okay.”
“Have you ever tried to see me as who I am now to you?”
“Y-Yes,” you swallow, getting lost in his eyes. “But I’m afraid that’s not how you see me…”
“You know what I love about you?” he asks, “We cook together, all the time, we make dinner together. You even let me drag you to cooking classes,” he smiles. “On the weekends when I fish, you’ll come with me and write or paint on the boat, you always keep me company. I even love you when you force me to watch scary movies, you always say you’ll protect me at night.”
“We do all that together?”
“I love that you’re so passionate about things, I love that you are just as competitive as me, I love that you make our home warm, I love your laugh, I love your smile, I love your eyes…”
“Our home?” You put your hand over his, not wanting him to pull away just yet. But Seokjin had no intention of leaving you.
“You think I love you because you saved me when I was a child. But I don’t think that’s what happened at all. I think you saved me because I loved you so much.”
You feel your heart clench at his words, opening up as if he had the key, turning it until he unlocked something inside of you, hidden so deep out of fear.
“I’m sorry I ran away from our first date,” you cry.
Seokjin laughs, kissing your forehead. “What are you talking about? You’re right here with me now.” He hugs you close, “Our first date, huh? Ahh now I remember,” he smiles. “You wore this for me?” Seokjin looks down your body hungrily. His thumb reaches out to touch the corner of your lips.
His younger self will forgive him for stealing your first kiss together.
Seokjin kissed you softly, testing the waters, until you pressed your lips into his demandingly, and he cradled the back of your head, licking over your mouth until you opened for him. His tongue rolls over yours, mouth devouring you until you were weak in the knees.
His hands ran down your body, going under your dress and pressing you to him in the most achingly pleasurable way you let out a soft moan for more.
Seokjin loved your body now, but there was something evocative in the younger version of you that reminded Seokjin of the start of your relationship, when you couldn’t keep your hands off one another and when you and him had the energy to go all night and morning long for days.
“Oh Seokjin.”
Seokjin already knows he’s not going to forgive himself for what he’s going to do next to you. But it’s only fair, his younger self is having too much fun with his version of you. That black dress was meant for him, Seokjin thinks, a little angry with his younger self too, barely remembering the distant memory.
Seokjin lays you on the couch, delicately pulling off your lace panties teasingly, leaving open mouthed kisses across your calf and thigh. He runs his tongue up your leg, achingly slow.
You whine for him, crying out his name, unable to hold back your yearning for him any longer.
You were so responsive to his touch, goosebumps blooming all over your skin at his ministrations. When his tongue dove into your core, you shuddered, legs over his shoulders and heels digging into his back, your own back arching into him as he licked over your mound, pressing his tongue deep inside you.
He replaces his tongue with two fingers, setting a punishing pace with his digits stroking inside your sex and his tongue over your clit, a dizzying force that sent pleasure waves throughout your body.
“Oh my god,” was all you could manage to say, broken out in between heaving moans.
He removes his tongue only to growl out, “Be a good girl and cum on my fingers for me, okay angel?”
You groan, legs locking around his arm as he curls his fingers into your sweet spot until you spasm, orgasming quicker than you’ve ever had before, even by your own fingers. “That’s it, baby.”
You lie, in shock, still trembling in pleasure.
-
Seokjin waited so long to have you again, and even though it wasn’t the version of you he wanted, this version acted exactly how he wished you would. You couldn’t keep your hands off his body, you couldn’t stop your moans for him. You were hungry for him, full of desire for him, on your knees for him and god, Seokjin felt like he was losing his mind with lust.
He dragged you off his cock, needing to fuck you first. He bent you over your counter, too horny to even think about stopping and moving somewhere else. He needed you now, before you disappeared, he needed to fuck you full, to make you cry out his name, he needed that validation, he needed you wrapped around his cock, warm and tight and his. You were his. He admired the jiggle of your ass, your back arching for him, your mouth open, your cheek pressed against the marble of your countertop as he dragged you back and forth on his cock. All of you, all his.
He interlaces his hands in yours, holding you down as his pace quickens. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” you moan out for him, tightening around his cock as he pounds into you from behind.
“I want you to come first,” he pants.
“Ungh…fingers,” you grunt, closing your eyes, so close.
Seokjin has learned a thing or two since fucking you last. He lifts one of your legs up onto the countertop, fucking you even deeper, rolling his hips into yours. His fingers find your clit, his other hand in your hair, tightening his grip as he fucks you.
You tremble, limbs locking as Seokjin brings you over the edge, fucking you through it and dragging out your pleasure until it becomes too much.
“Fuck, fuck, you’re so tight, I’m going to — ungh.”
Seokjin pulls out, resting his cock in your folds. His shaft twitches against your sensitive nub, making you tremble. Seokjin covers your sex with his cum, marking you as his.
And then he pulls you into his arms, nowhere near finished with you.
-
Seokjin peels your dress off you, fingers pulling at your nipples until you gasp. Pocketing your underwear, he undoes his pants, pulling out his hard length, thick and heavy against your thigh.
You inhale sharply at the sight of him. God, has he always been this sexy? Probably. You’re an idiot for waiting so long. You instinctively open your legs wider for him. “Want it, baby?” Seokjin smirks. He’s bold, already confident in his relationship with you, and he likes teasing you, especially this version of you, when you still have your timidness, your cute modesty. “Tell me how bad you want me.”
You whimper as his fingers tease your entrance. “Tell me,” he grunts as his fingers dip inside your hole. His wet fingers travel up your body, circling your nipple and resting on your throat as he uses the tip of his cock to tease you instead.
“Please, I want you.”
Seokjin licks his lips, watching you squirm underneath him. “How bad?”
“Fuck, please, Seokjin, I want you so bad.”
“Yeah?” He rests himself at your entrance. He could do this all night, torture you slowly. He knows your body, he’s had you so many times before. He can keep you like this for as long as he likes, because he knew you haven’t felt him yet, and he knew it was driving you crazy to wait. This was only a little sweet payback for all the waiting he used to do for you.
“Beg me, angel.”
“Please, Seokjin, please,” you whimper. “Fuck me, please...please...” you pant.
Seokjin rolls his hips into yours, filling you with one long languid stroke that takes your breath away. He brings your legs up, folding you so he can fuck you deep, fill you completely.
It feels so good you feel tears pricking at the corners of your eyes. You hold onto his shoulders, digging your nails into his back. Fuck, it feel so good. Sex with Seokjin is the best sex of your life. He is thick and long and is hitting spots you didn’t even know existed inside of you.
“I’m g-going to cum again,” you moan out.
“Yeah? Gonna come on my cock this time? Fuck, you feel so tight. You’re taking me so well, baby.”
“So…close-”
“Come, baby,” Seokjin runs his fingers over your sex, circling your oversensitive clit. You shake and tremble around him, limbs locking. “One more, fu-uck, give me one more.” Seokjin was going to make sure you knew what you could look forward to when you went back, that you weren’t going to ever forget you belonged with him.
He rolls his hips slow and steady, fucking every thought out of your head until you could only think of the way his cock dragged in and out of you, his fingers relentlessly slipping against your clit.
“Seokjin!”
“Good girl, that’s a good girl.”
-
Seokjin woke up half naked on the rug of your living room all alone.
And then he heard a thud in your bedroom and knew you were back in his life again. Never that far.
-
You look up as your bedroom door creaks open. You pull your sheet off your bed, dragging it onto the floor to cover yourself.
“Hey,” you stutter.
“Hey,” Seokjin whispers, covering his chest.
“Seokjin, did you want to, um, cook breakfast together?”
---
“Hey old man.”
“Hey angel.” Seokjin had gray hair, wrinkles in the creases of his eyes when he smiled at you.
“Is everything okay?”
“Now that you’re here, I’m sure it will be fine.”
Taking your hand in his, you both notice the gold rings on your fingers.
“How’d you get in this boat all by yourself?”
“The easy part is getting in, the hard part is getting out,” Seokjin laughs.
“And where am I?”
“I suppose, somewhere saving my life.”
You jump into the boat, helping him to his feet. “Promise me you’ll fix this dock with some decent steps and railings,” you grunt.
“I promise,” he smiles.
You smile back, tying the boat up to the dock. “I’m happy I came here, to see you. We lasted this long, huh? Not that I had any doubts,” you tease. Seokjin chuckles, waiting for you as you finish securing the last loops. He sits on his cooler, filled with today’s catch.
You bend down and kiss him on the cheek, helping him up to his feet again. “Let’s go inside and wait for me, then, yeah?” you say, linking your arms together.
---
“Y/n?” Seokjin called out to you. Somehow, even with your gray hair, your hunched withered body, he could tell it was you.
“Oh, Seokjin, oh my god,” you wheeze out, tears in your eyes. The last time you saw Seokjin was three years ago, the day he died. You touch his cheek, no longer wrinkled by time, tears escaping your cloudy eyes.
“Angel, you found me again.”
“I missed you. God, I missed you so much.”
“I’m here now,” Seokjin whispers, taken aback by your tears and how broken you sounded, his heart clenching and thinking of the worst. He hugs you, calming you down.
You remembered this day.
“I know why I’m here,” you say happily. “Today is the day I go into labor.”
“But your due date is not for another three months,” your husband says, confused.
“That’s right,” you remember. “There’s a complication. We’ll be fine,” you reassure him as he starts to panic, “Just take me to the hospital now, okay love.”
Seokjin nods, hugging you again. It’s overwhelming, having him in your arms again after all these years. Even if the man you loved is gone, you feel a sense of happiness wash over you knowing this version of him and you still have so many years left to live, so much love to give each other. So many more beautiful memories to make, all that you know will be the best ones yet.
“Oh dear, I love you,” you cry.
“I love you too. Every time. Every where,” Seokjin whispers.
And that was the last time you fell for Seokjin.
---
Happy birthday, Seokjin! Did you like it? I cried, but I'm a crybaby, did you cry? I need to know if I'm still decent at angst lol.

I have decided to do a smol fanfic featuring my oc Celta/Naomi based on @endomentendo 's Wonderland AU.
"That was a piece of cake," the teenager spoke as she walked through the walls of the cable company her friends had dared her to enter.
She examined the multiple different types of cable related stuff that was there. Her hoodie hid part of her face as she continued to mess with stuff but that was until she saw something yellow on the screen. She stopped to see a little character hopping off a pop-up screen before it stared at her.
Tumblr media
The character looked like a little clown and he had some sort of waistcoat. It reminded the teen of the cute little helpers from the Windows computers. Soon enough, the little clown stared at the teen as she poked her finger at the glass.
He yelped in fear as he started to zoom past through multiple tv screens. The teen followed him before hearing the unlocking of a door. She quickly hid behind an old computer, watching as two people got on their computers, doing what she seemed to be cashier or management work.
After a brief while, the teen noticed the little clown going towards the old computer to where she saw one of the employees stick her hand through the computer monitor and before she knew it, she witnessed the employee get sucked into the screen which shocked her.
Coming out from her hiding place, she stared at the screen before questioning something. "Did she get kidnapped by that clown?" She pondered, "Should I rescue her?" Without second thoughts, she sighed.
Tumblr media
She placed her head in; first thing and suddenly, she was sucked into the screen just like the employee lady was. Then she was surrounded by complete darkness with possibly no way out of this digital escapade.

Just want to say: a, I admire very much that you've figured out a healthy way to work on your fics that allows you to have fun with it. And also b, am very excited to hear that you are getting there with pez! It has fully given me brain rot ever since I read it last year, there is just such a lack of content for the highly specific trope of using time travel as a device to explore extremely unhealthy levels of self loathing.
I just adore everything you're doing in it. Neither midoriya is anywhere approaching okay for any portion of the fic and I love rereading and mining into all the subtle characterization pointing to that. It's a bit like nhtycth in that some really goofy funny stuff is often hiding some really fucking worrying things, but the fact that characters DO do that stuff—that todoroki uses his teaspoon's worth of extremely stunted social skills to bludgeon his friend's door open and help him, that a rpf shipping war is an actual source of drama despite how goofy the sentiment seems on the surface, that about half of what jon says is deeply worrying and the other half is extremely funny and there's a lot of overlap between the two—really lifts the tension and brightens the universe. It's sort of similar to what you did with gerry, in that endless misery isn't nearly as painful as the ups and downs of a life that, when you step back and zoom out, has something deeply and horribly wrong with it.
(jon sort of reminds me of spider-man in that he uses human to deal with trauma and stress, except I don't think he at any point realizes how fucking funny he is. He's just there, in a home depot, gnashing his teeth because he's got so many bodies to dispose of and this cashier sure is taking her time.)
I really, really, really have had trouble finding fics that take everything midoriya has dealt with to task. It's a hell of a thing to live 14 years as a disabled minority, have it heavily shape your existence, and then one day you wake up and you realize you're...not that, or at least, nobody will ever acknowledge you as that again. You've lost all claim to it. Those experiences that shaped who you are? Dust in the wind. 14 years of pain and life might as well be buried in the ground for all the good they do you. Nobody's going to cut you any slack or quarter, you've gotta simply work harder, be better. And now when you do that you get the results you wanted, so that's fine, then. That's good. There was something wrong with the you before, and there's something right with the you now, and if the transition is a little rough, well that doesn't matter, you're the same as everyone else now, so it's your own job to fill in whatever gaps you need to.
I really can't get over how mentally fucked it must be for midoriya to run into quirkless people, run across quirkless issues, and be silently caught between, incapable of speaking his mind and too scared to do so anyway around those he can trust.
Also I should mention, I'm just very excited for bakugou to get back from the gym. He's been there like a year I hope he's getting a good workout in.
Me realizing that it’s been a year since pez dispenser debris:
Tumblr media
I feel like there’s just this very specific type of grief that Izuku has to grapple with in the span of pez dispenser debris that I’m just obsessed with. He’s sort of silently mourning who he could have been, when 1) he has to present like there’s nothing lost to maintain his secret and 2) the entire world is constantly inundating him with the message that there was nothing lost.
Like. I don’t want to get too deep into it because it risks spoiling things and I do have major plans to continue it (I’ve loved this story for so many years before I ever even hit publish), but the emotion that Izuku’s feeling right now is so much more complex than “I hate who I used to be and want him to stop existing” or “I just want to keep my secrets.” And I think the way he interacts with Mirio is the biggest evidence of that.
Izuku’s placed himself at the very center of the Quirklessness debate with his support of Mirio. He fights for Quirkless heroes, very publicly, to the point where he’s not even graduated yet but considered to be one of the most prominent voices on the matter. If you took a poll of Quirkless people as to which hero would be most supportive of them pursing their own career in heroics, Izuku would be right at the top of the list. When it comes to Quirklessness itself, he’s nothing but supportive.
But he didn’t tell Mirio the truth of his own Quirklessness.
Out of everyone, Mirio’s the one everyone expects to know, despite him being a relatively newer relationship compared to someone like Iida or Uraraka or Todoroki. And I tried to imply that he’s sort of the one who knows the most about Izuku out of everyone save All Might.
Like, we’ll get into how much exactly Mirio knows soon, so I won’t divulge what, if anything, Izuku has told him. But we know that Mirio knows, weirdly enough, that Izuku is deeply fucking haunted. He knows that boy has many violent ghosts in his bones. He finds it hilarious and will tell their realtor about it. Izuku told him about the discontent spirits who died in a violent passion and live on inside of him before he told him about his Quirklessness.
And I just feel like one of those things is a little bit easier to discuss than the other.
Izuku has decided to keep his own Quirklessness quiet in a way that surpasses secrecy about One for All. If it was just about OfA, he could tell people he didn’t get his quirk until the entrance exam, and it wouldn’t even be a lie. He’s purposefully obscuring his own past as Quirkless even as he takes a forefront of the Quirkless hero debate with his open support of Mirio.
And the fact that he’s at the forefront of this debate in and of itself requires a difficult dichotomy. He is the world’s most vocal proponent for the first Quirkless hero. He is a known figure in the Quirkless community now.
He isn’t considered one of them anymore. He’s an outsider coming in.
It must be such a strange, odd sort of grief to come to the people you were home amongst for most of your life and be greeted as a stranger. To return home, and to be welcomed in for the first time, and to not even be able to tell people that you’ve lived here all your life and don’t need a tour.
It’s a sort of death of self, I think. And I think Izuku never expected to have to grapple with his own ghost.
#there’s just something so haunting to me about the idea of Izuku being considered just a really enthusiastic ally to the Quirkless community#like Izuku canonically did not have friends#he almost definitely was an /incredibly/ avid member of Internet forums#he probably found comfort amongst other Quirkless people for the first time ever online#and then he grew up#got all mights quirk#became a central figure in the Quirklessness debate#and suddenly found himself popping up on those forums that used to be his only solace as a child#that one hero with all the Quirks who supports the Quirkless#I see Izuku as being a semi controversial figure amongst Quirkless#because he obviously supports them#but he’s got quirks to an unprecedented power level and is also used by others against the quirkless community as an example of how far#behind they are in evolution#I feel like he eventually stopped going on those old forums that were his greatest comfort as a child#like I feel like he would feel weird lurking on the forums while they talked about him to him without their knowledge#he would have left to give them privacy away from him#he couldn’t honestly commiserate with them anymore because he was suddenly Quirked anyway#and what must that feel like#that realization that you can never go home again#pez dispenser debris#bnha#update IS incoming im actively working on this fic again#we are so so close people#to this and sgg and nhthcth#god it’s been so close for so long#also if you sent me an ask and I never answered it please know I saw it and loved it and started to answer it#which is why I currently have over 150 asks in a state of partial completeness#we’ll get there one day
