Coming Soon: FEALTY

Coming to Kickstarter February 1st, FEALTY is a ttrpg about commoners steering an ill-humoured monarch and managing the resources of a unique fantasy nation.

It is a collaboration between Galen Pejeau (CRASH//CART, The Facility, artist with too many indie rpgs to count) which is honestly a career-long dream for me.

If you've been following me for a while you'll know I'm soon going to be releasing The Perilous Pear & Plum Pies of Pudwick, a 52 page full-colour, fully illustrated adventure for Melsonia where a group of plucky adventurers will shrink to insectoid size and adventure into the uncanny world that exists inside a sapient pear tree in a system agnostic weird fantasy bugcrawl.

If that interests you, you should absolutely check out Beetle Knight, which I hope to run TPPAPPOP with when I get my grubby palps on it!

Beetle Knight has got a cool contested rolls system, an emblems mechanic reminiscent of the medals in Bug Fables or charms in Hollow Knight, and it comes from a team embedded in the OSR/NSR design trajectory.

An oracle zine with 60+ results per page for any solo RPG

My Zine Month project is up! 🎲🎲

Introducing 'Random Realities', an oracle zine for all your solo RPG needs!

Roll a d66, flip a page, or roll the dice inside the PDF (yup, that's right) and get 60+ oracle results on every page!

Here's a sample page of the zine.

Envision worlds, quests, people, scenes, creatures, items, and more on a glance!

If you're familiar with oracle decks, it's the same principle, but in a convenient zine format.

The PDF comes with a function that allows you to click on the dice (or on the title of any category) and it takes you to another random page!

It's pretty magical!

If you are using the physical version, you can simply flip to a random page, or roll d66 and go to the corresponding page, following the dice results in the bottom right corner.

And it's all there, no need to flip through to find the right table for the right scenario.

The results vary from more abstract words and terms open to interpretation, to more direct and guided results, combined with evocative icons to spark your imagination.

I drew from the 30+ games I've made to collect the most practical and evocative oracles I could devise.

My hope is that you can grab this zine and your favorite system, and jump to an adventure in no time.

It's live! The quest of the lonely wizard has begun. Come join The Magus on its quest for power, and pray that The Oracle will save you from the dangers of ambition.

The Magus is a solo journaling RPG by momatoes about pathos, arcana, calamity, and the infinite loneliness of power. You use dice and pen to write the unique history of your character's quest for arcane mastery. You will navigate strange encounters and confront complex opportunities for learning spells—or cultivating tenuous bonds. Along your journey, you will be guided by the Oracle: a companion deck of cards that reveal parts of a spell's true name alongside images and keyphrases that incite layers of meaning for your story. As well as meetings with unlikely creatures that may just leave their mark on the solitary heart of your Magus. Crowdfunding coming up for ZineMonth!

You have set out together to hunt the monster and end its existence once and for all.

"Against the Monster" is a story game about a monster hunt, the good of the monster, and the monstrosity of the hunters. Whether it's a dragon, vampire, tentacle monster, or artificial intelligence — you'll decide in which setting you'll hunt which monster.

When the monster faces you in the end: Do you really attack it?

"Against the Monster" is a GM-less Descended from the Queen story game (you may know the mechanics from "For the Queen" or our previous project "Viva la QueerBar") for 2-6 players and a flexible play time of about 1-4 hours.

After successful funding, the game will be published as a 24-page A5-sized zine and as screenreader-ready PDF, in both English and German. It will get evocative original artwork on every page (100% human-made, of course).

FEALTY is now on Kicsktarter!

A fiction first TTRPG of courtly drama, awful monarchs, and a fantastical medieval nation. Steer society, the throne, and more in this GM-less token-based game.

Thanks to art by the incredible Galen Pejeau this is gonna be one of the most beautiful games I've ever made:

Fealty is based on the Belonging Outside Belonging system by Avery Alder, and its chief inspiration is the novel Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. Fealty is all about moving and trading tokens that represent favours and resources as you try to get your way at court, come up with plans of action that please the monarch, while at the same time dealing with growing threats caused the whims and faults of the nobility.

Play as the Inkpot, Champion, Fool, or more. Familiar faces in any monarch's court, but common born all, elevated by skill or fate, and doomed to serve in a hierarchical power structure destined to fail.

Will you steer the nation of Kyr to a golden age, wheel and deal to see your vision realized, or will your patience wear thin as you turn to one of your revolutionary moves to end this this awful monarchy forever?
