467 Young Father Time
“Man…who lives in three places – in the past, in the present, and in the future – can be unhappy if one of these three is worthless. Religion has even added a fourth – eternity.” ― Georg Christoph Lichtenberg “Man is the result of slow growth; that is why he occupies the position he does in animal life. What does a pup amount to that has gained its growth in a few days or weeks, beside a man who only attains it in as many years.” ― Alexander Graham Bell Come here, cat. Albert Bergeret and Time Perception
“The most important thing I learnt on Tralfamadore was that when a person dies he only appears to die. He is still very much alive in the past, so it is very silly for people to cry at his funeral. All moments, past, present, and future, always have existed, always will exist. The Tralfamadorians can look at all the different moments just the way we can look at a stretch of the Rocky Mountains, for instance. They can see how permanent all the moments are, and they can look at any moment that interests them. It is an illusion we have here on Earth that one moment follows another one, like beads on a string, and that once a moment is gone it is gone forever. When any Tralfamadorian sees a corpse, all he thinks is that the dead person is in a bad condition in that particular moment, but that the same person is just fine in plenty of other moments.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five
Albert Bergeret and Time Perception
Albert Bergeret is famous known producer of illustrated post cards He was also an art industrialist and member of the movement of the School of Nancy, in particular through his involvement in the Steering Committee of the Alliance.
Albert Bergeret and Time Perception
Who is Bergeret?
Albert Bergeret was born on December 8, 1859 in Gray where his father, a bookseller, owned a small type of printing press equipment in which, as a child, he practiced
Albert Bergeret He joined the army for five years, from 1879 to 1884, a period during which he had the opportunity to train in the new phototype printing process. Released from his military obligations, he entered a Parisian graphic arts house, first an apprentice, he became a foreman. He took part in the foundation of the Phototypie syndicate in June 1886. https://www.myhourglasscollection.com/hourglass-262-father-time/ His Parisian responsibilities open him the doors of the printer Royer, in Nancy, to create and direct a phototype workshop. In 1896, Albert Bergeret took the risk of publishing two albums in his name at the Royer printing works: “Nancy, Monumental et Pittoresque” and “Metz, Monumental et Pittoresque” each with 100 plates and sold directly to the author MA Bergeret , 63 rue des Jardiniers, Nancy. In 1892, during an excursion to Germany Albert Bergeret discovers the development of the illustrated postcard. In 1898 persuaded that the moment was favorable to launch the postcard in France and given that the Royer Establishments did not wish to follow him, he set up on his own and launched out in the production of city views maps. "Phototype A. Bergeret et Cie - Nancy" ‘Women of the Future’ as imagined by a photographer in a set of trading cards that imagine what women would look like and do in the future. This one is “firefighter.
Young Father Time, Saturne, Cronos Bergeret follows the news closely. He was the only one to print in late 1899 or early 1900 a series of 25 numbered cards with the pictures of A. Machuron on the Andrée expedition of 1897 which ended badly as well as a series of 10 cards on the Rennes trial, in 1899, in the Dreyfus affair. Henri Dubois - French sculptor and medalist produced medal in honor of Paulus Kruger (1825 - 1904) military and political leader Boer who was President of the Republic. He was exiled to Europe and found refuge in Utrecht for a few months. Complete biography of André Dupuis rear … little nephew of Diderot, who will take the pseudonym of Jean Kerhor when he settles in Paris and where, for many years he will continue his work as an artist, artist - designer as he presents himself is a complex person. Production of event cards continues. Very nice series "Exposition of the Modern Office in 1912". The red logo of the Imprimerie Réunies de Nancy is visible in its small red circle. The war, when it occurs, puts a stop to this intense activity and the collotype will be replaced by rotogravure for which the Combined Printing Works have not prepared their conversion.
