Jo and Liza's story is near and dear my heart not only bec it's one of the new wlw stories by romanceclass, but also bec of it's sincere representation of a seedier, grittier Manila that is not often reflected in the books I have recently read. The romance is slow, but it makes perfect sense given the circumstances our protagonists find themselves in. I guess the thing that strikes me most about this is how it shows the power of choice and how certain decisions and sacrifices can inevitable drastically change lives. Much of the conflict arises from Jo and Liza's lack of options, and so they make do with what they're given, and even then, their palpable romance cannot reach it's full bloom unless they make even more difficult decisions. Don't worry, as hard as it may get, it isn't unnecessarily cruel and the love between these two are worth the reader's emotional labor. ⁣ •⁣ I'm so bad at describing books I love so much! LOL.
