Her words are meant. Devora Diana Song used to be exactly like Maria. Abrasive. The young woman, back to the academy, in the 55th games arena and even on national television for the very first time did not bow, she did not kiss ass, she did not lie, she did not pretend to be anything else than she always has been. There is only one major difference between Maria and young Deva however : the side. Even though they once have been alike in their fires, Deva always stood on the side of the Capitol, on the side of Order, desiring to gain power by climbing the ladder and perhaps becoming one of these "people" Maria describes : the ones who decides exactly where they want the districts to be. Could Maria see that? Perhaps it is where Devora's aspirations had to be kept to herself, a secret to the other victors. As their leader, she would go through war to defend their cause, to elevate their status, to guarantee a seat at the table for them all. But to share their desire for rebellion? Would she ever? Devora likes the view from her capitol mansion a little for that. Maria's hands are taken out of Deva's grip as the young girl takes a step back, openly refusing her words of reassurance. Deva's eyes do not leave the other : Maria's demaneors translate struggle, incomprehension, fear of a future, frustration and well, questions, a lot of them that seem to be spinning inside her young head. The cold calm on Deva's features is usual, one that could not be disturbed no matter the words spoken to her. "What is so wrong in playing a game?" Questions Deva, her arms now crossed against against her chest, watching the other from above. "No matter what side you stand on Maria, if you're willing to fight with every single one of your bones for something you want, you must know your enemy." The Capitol Maria's enemy. Who's Deva's real enemy then? "Being cautious isn't a sign of weakness. It's letting yourself get consumed by anger that is. What good do you think it's going to do, if you foolishly believe you can speak louder than any of them? I can tell you. Your tongue cut out, your voice taken away, your body for auction, that's how it ends." Her words are harsh but right. "What we build to do, Patrick and I, what we have paved for the victors is right here : we're alive, we're standing, with more status than our ancestors ever had, because we sacrified for it, we earned it. I am different than my younger self indeed because I have learned : nothing has ever been for free, there are prices you must be willing to pay. Not being Okay with the system in place is simply not Enough to change it. You have to work for it. So if you really want to save these kids, come with me and earn it." Speaks Deva. Words that are commanding yet, in her own way encouraging. Her desire to help Maria is expressed, as said : she is a leader, for her victors, she would go through lenghts to defend their interests, to listen to them. Far enough to compromise her status? Who could really tell. It only takes a minute for Deva to catch her coat and place it over her shoulders. Her hand on the handle, the door is open as she glances over her shoulder. "We're going to the Grand Penitentiary, I will request an emergency meeting." She adds, opening the door. "Follow me."

Italian car plates
How to recognize from where a car is? Maybe you've wondered this when you were walking around in Italy, or maybe not. Still, you can check from which area a car is, especially if you happen to see an old car (but even in some of the newest ones).
For example: AO = Aosta (yeah not someone yelling at you or hurting themselves) FI = Firenze (the farfallino alphabet? Another day) They're not all as easy as these, with the first two letters of the province's name: BZ = Bolzano (as the bee bzzz around you but stopping immediately) BS = Brescia (yeah nope, it's not the bs you were thinking about - how funny I am today... sorry) KR = Crotone (my all time fave cause of the K out of nowhere)
But it is cool cause at times not even Italians do remember the actual province for each letters' combination, cause it could be more than one. So we used to go on like this (either a monologue or a chat): "TR? Trapani? No Trapani should be TP...and Trento is TN right?... so...??? Terni!! TR is Terni" There are more of these in the link at the very bottom of this post, in case you're curious.
It was fun cause when I was little there was a game I used to make on long trips: put together the letters of the cars passing by and forming names or saying random stuff.
some of the most common were TO, MI, NO ..this combination could become TOMINO, a cheese name MINO, a name MITO (I was ahead of my time, seen the actual MI-TO connection) If a VA was passing by as well maybe followed by a NO, I had VANO = space or useless
You got the point ig. I'll stop here with the "weirdo Italian" part.
You can read the more serious history part under the keep reading link (cause plates have a very long and confused story) plus a fun note at the very bottom:
We started putting plates on the first cars (velocipedes too, actually) in the last years of 1800. It was applied on the car's side and it had the owner's name and the license number.
Few years after, in 1901, the plate had to be created by the owner and contain the extended Provincia's name (Genova, Milano, Napoli...) and the license number (e.g.: Torino 427 - which is one of the still existing plates). There are only a few plates from that age nowadays, and they're all exposed in different Italian Museums (two can be seen at the Museo dell'Automobile di Torino, e.g.).
Back then, nobody thought cars would have become so many. In 1905 it was decided to change plates once again: instead of the name of the province, there was a corresponding number in red, accompanied by a dash and another number in black, which represented the registration number of the car. (e.g. 55 - 101 was a car from Roma's area. Roma province's number was number 55 bc, in alphabetical order, Roma was the 55th province we had, until WWI).
In 1927, Mussolini changed the provinces' laws and even car plates' design. Each plate had to have two letters from the name of the capoluogo di provincia (most important city of the district), generally the first letter and then another one from the name* (exception made for Roma, which had the entire name, with the capital R as big as the digits), and then a progressive number from 1 to 999999 (after hitting which, we started useing letters). Plates started looking differently, being written in white on a black bg on the same line; then, as digits grew in number, we had two lines (square format) with the province's letters at the top and the 4 digits at the bottom (for 5 digits numbers, the first digit was put at the top after a dot near the province's letters).
(To see some more examples, check wikipedia)
Even colonies had to follow a similar pattern when putting plates on their cars.
After the end of WWII we see some changes: the emblem of the Italian Republic or of each "Regione Autonoma" was put on the plate as well. Trieste had a different approach because it wasn't part of Italy until 1954. Then we had some changes like the measures of the plate, a different way to write the characters on the front plate... From the 60s, we started producing plates that had 6 digits: for plates that didn't had 6 numbers, some 0s were put at the beginning (e.g. 4598 -> 004598). Between the 70s and the 80s, the provincia's letters (or name, for Roma), start to be colored in orange in the back's plate.
From the 1985 plates are again in metal (for a while we produced them in plastic, but plastic was easily ruined). Characters are written in black on a white reflecting bg. The front's plate almost becomes as big as the back plate, and has the same format: province's letters followed by digits (before, it was different, see pic above). We start seeing some letters also among digits.
From 1994 to 1999 we have the format made of a combination of letters and numbers: two letters at the beginning and at the end and three digits in the middle. There are combinations that are avoided in order to not create confusion (no letters I, O, Q and U also to avoid confusion with digits; no CC or CD or EE because these were used for Consular Corps, Diplomatics Corps and Foreign Excursionists). Combinations starting with ZA were only used in squared plates (genrally seen on off-roads vehicles).
New province created in 1992 (Biella, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Lodi, Lecco, Crotone, Vibo Valentia, Rimini and Prato) had still the chance to use the old format with the province's letters followed by the 6 digits for a bunch of cars (around 12000).
Not seeing the provincia's letters wasn't okay for many Italians so in 1999 we changed the format of the plate to the one with blue bands on the sides: National letter and European symbol on the left, and provincia's letters (that can be removed as they're stickers basically and honestly some Italians did removed them cause yeah, it's not always safe to visit a district for someone--- I will explain later on in another post) and the immatricolation's year on the right. This is the EU format. For the squared plates, we have the letters on the top, with the blue bands on its side, and digits at the bottom.
To be clear: numbers depends on the province's registration of the car (and letters belong on that same provincia). I mean you can live in a provincia but the car you are going to buy is registered in another, and that's fine (unless, as Imentioned, there are old feuds among the two... but it is no more so? Ig).
*Here you have the Province's corresponding digits (as at the beginning of 1900) and the Province's letters. Fun thing: Cuneo was supposed to be CU but "CU" in Piedmontese (and Lombard too) means "butt", so it was immediately changed to CN.

CONNOR RHODES
"Bring em' in."
Requested: yes
Prompts: none
Warnings: none
Authors note: /
"Good morning stepfather." You tease Mouch as you walk into the spacious common room. You hear him let out the biggest groan at your words and you can't help but laugh at him.
"I can't believe you're her step dad," Herrmann snickered at the table.
"Trudy didn't choose who her kid is going to be." Mouch tells him.
"That was a low blow Mouch!" Kelly tells him and the rest agree.
"You two do realise that you could have gotten married together. Merge the costs!" Otis pipes in.
"Yeah and gotten married together at Molly's?" You ask and look at Herrmann. "No offense."
"None taken but Otis is right!" Herrmann fought.
"For your information Connor and I want to get married in a church and have a reception." You tell them while mentally swiping through your binders filled with wedding ideas. "Also I don't think we could've pulled off what Mouch and my mom did."
A round of applause erupts after that. While the bickering continues you make your way over to Gabby and Casey who are sitting together at the table. You ogle the fruit bowl in front of Gabby. "That looks delicious." You comment and take a seat.
"Do you want some? I'll go get you some." She suggests. With pleading eyes you ask her if she doesn't mind but she tells you to sit still until she comes back.
With her out of the sight you grab her fork and stab some fruit onto it. When you notice Matt staring at you, you ask "What?"
"I thought you didn't like kiwi." He comments, remembering the times when you used to pick at your fruit salat until all of the kiwis were out.
Weirdly enough, you were craving kiwis today. A wish for kiwis never comes up in your mind. Never. "I thought so too."
"Ambulance 61, truck 81, squad 3. House fire. 55th York Avenue."
"I guess you and kiwis weren't meant to be after all." With that Matt and you stride out of the common room with Gabby behind you.
***
"Holy shit." You take a deep breath once you're met with the hot air around the burning house. Everything seemed to bother you suddenly and your stomach started to do flips.
"Y/LN grab the hose! Let's go!" Matt instructs and you move your legs to do your job and help. With jiggly legs and a heavy stomach you make your way towards the group of men.
"Hey Y/LN you alright?" Kelly comes up to you. He places his hand onto your shoulder and takes a good look at you. "You don't look okay. Sit this one out."
You shake your head and fix your helmet. "I'm alright." You felt like you had the most terrible hangover of all time. You were nauseous and liable to vomit at the slightest provocation.
Like now.
It pushes through and makes you take off your helmet immediately and duck somewhere to empty your guts out. This never happened. Ever.
Soon enough Boden is next to you making sure you're somewhat okay. It's now 100% sure that you're sitting this one out.
"I... Don't feel so good."
And with that you collapse on the ground.
***
"Could it be food poisoning?" Gabby asks Natalie. When you were rushed into the ED followed by a bunch of frightened firefighters everyone in the ED feared the worst.
Even though you weren't suffering from any harsh burns or lung problems it didn't ease Natalie's mind at all, especially when your boyfriend was in the middle of operating.
"No, it's not food poisoning. Nothing to worry about." Natalie reassured them. "She's okay now. We'll just wait a little more for Trudy and Connor to get here."
"If it's nothing to worry about then why do we have to wait for Trudy and Connor?" Mouch asked.
"I'll talk to you soon." Natalie held the biggest news in her hands. You were pregnant.
***
"Doctor Rhodes?" Beth followed Connor out of the OR.
"Yes Beth what's up?" He asked while fixing his coat.
"Doctor Manning paged you down in the ED." She informed him.
"Why? A counsel?"
"She said it's your fiancée."
Connor stopped in his tracks. "Come again?"
"Your fiancée was brought in the ED while you were operating."
"Crap."
***
When he rushed into your room he was met by your worried mother who wouldn't leave your side. "What happened?" He asked her after greeting her with a hug.
"They told me she collapsed on a call and Natalie won't tell me anything more than that."
You woke up around that time as well. After getting used to the bright lights you were met with two sets of very worried eyes. One pair belonged to your loving fiancé and the other set to your loving mother. Both of them were dressed up in their uniforms.
"Did you leave work because of me mom?" You chuckled.
"Damn right I did." She told you and kissed your hands. "You made me worried sick."
"How about you?" You turn to look at the love of your life. "You aren't on trauma today."
"Shouldn't you just be glad that we're here?" He asked you while smiling.
Your mom nodded, "Yeah I agree with him."
A knock on the door pulled you out of your conversation. Natalie walked in with a smile on her face. She held the tablet in her hands and decided how to break it to you.
"How are you feeling Y/N?" She asked you.
"Drowsy." You simply replied. "I don't know how that happened."
"Well lucky for you I do." She smiled. "Y/N you're pregnant."
The moment you realised that you misinterpreted your sudden changes of emotion, appetite... Your world changed. The moment her words stopped was the moment you were at loss for words.
Your mom smiled happily and dived in to give you a kiss on the cheek while you wrapped your arms around her. "Oh sweetie... Congratulations."
Tears welled up in your eyes even more once you've let her go. Your mom, who is known to be a strong woman, had tears in her eyes and a smile that spoke thousands of words. She sniffed and said, "I'll leave you two alone. Congratulations."
Natalie followed her out right away and now the two of you were left alone.
"The baby likes kiwis." You blurt out and squeeze his hand.
"Kiwis?" He chuckled, scooting closer to you.
"Yeah. I had this huge appetite for kiwis this morning." Even though the thought of them made your mouth water in your head they were still the devil. "I think it's a boy."
Connor's hand found its way to your belly. You placed your own hands over his bigger one.
"Why a boy?" He asked you, still mesmerised by your belly that carried the miniature you.
"Because boys tend to like everything their mothers don't."
"I'm sorry I didn't get here when you were brought in." He apologised.
"Hey." You whispered and straightened up. You removed his hand from your belly and clasped it with yours. "It's okay. I was out of it most of the time. I'm glad you are here now."
"A baby." He laughed dearly.
"We'll have to reschedule the wedding."
"I don't mind." He leaned in and kissed you softly. The two of you spent a few peaceful moments together before he was paged back and he had to go.
"Good luck with them." Connor told you. You giggled into the kiss after remembering you have a lot to announce. "I'll be back with you two as soon as I can."
It felt surreal to think about the fact that you were carrying a baby. It will take you some time until you get used to it.
"Bring em' in."

Rose, I have an horary ask. Will I be continuing job or will I join college?
0:44am Thane, India, 30 October
I will basically will resign from the workplace and start college provided I get in those of my choice. But due to the notice period and formalities I just wanted to have any clue for there will be very less to no time from admission to start of college.
Hi! I think you'll be continue working this year. Let me know how it goes.
With love and light, R.
You're represented by the ascendant and its ruler, as well as the moon to show your emotions. The ascendant is in 13°22 Leo, ruled by the sun.
The sun is in 6°34 Scorpio in the 3rd house and it's peregrine.
The moon is in 17°41 Leo in the 1st house and it's peregrine as well. This planet is peregrine and in your 1st house, so it's afflicting you. What's afflicting you? Your emotions. The moon is received by the sun, so it confirms that this is affecting you in your day-to-day life as well. It's fitting, as the moon also rules the 12th house of self-undoing.
As for peregrine planets, they are planets that are not in any major dignity or debility. Bonatti (Liber Astronomae, Treatise V, the 55th consideration) says the following about them: "To consider whether the signifcator be Peregrine, for then the person whom he signifies, either in Nativity or Question, &c., will be subtle, crafty, malicious, one that shall know how to act both good and evil, but be more inclinable to the latter." Peregrine planets are seen as lost wanderers, vagabonds. So this makes sense, one who is lost but not immoral will know the distinction between good and bad. Even so, the lost are mode inclined to wander towards the evil rather than the good.
Your potential future college is represented by the 9th house, and your career/job by the 10th house. The 9th house is in Aries, ruled by Mars. The 10th house is in Taurus, ruled by Venus.
Mars is in his detriment in 29°27 Libra, about to move to its domicile sign Scorpio where it'll be in the fall of the moon. Mars is in the 3rd house of communication, and combust the sun but moving away. He's in his own term, so he's not peregrine.
Venus is in 23°30 Sagittarius is in the 5th house of fun, art and children. She is peregrine as well.
Let's see what's happening here..
The sun is seperating from Mars. Mars (college) received the sun (you). This aspect is seperating, however, not applying.
The sun is applying to a square with Saturn by 1°. Saturn is the Lord of the 6th house (illness) and of the 7th house (other applying competitors of the school, in this case). Saturn is in his own sign. Saturn is in the detriment of the sun. This could be implying you won't be accepted because the other contestants are more suited to the college's tastes. Also considering Saturn exalts Mars. Even so, Mars is about to change signs to Scorpio. This also tells me that your exams won't go as well as you think. Right now it's in Libra, where it has no reception with the sun or moon—but, it will move to Scorpio where it's in the fall of the moon. This shows that you are extremely disappointed and upset because of these results, they're much worse (fall shows exaggerated evil, so to say) than you thought.
The moon is first applying to Mercury, Lord 11 (hopes and wishes) and Lord 2 (money). The moon later applies to Venus, Lord 10, but is impeded by this first applying aspect to Mercury. The moon isn't applying to Mars (college).
I think you will continue with your job and won't go to college.
Malefic Uranus (in fall, retrograde, no dignity) is applying to the 10th house cusp. Uranus is associated with sudden changes and disruptions, so it could be that you will still resign from your job or you will be moved to a different sector of your job, something along those lines. Mars (college) is applying to the part of fortune with 3°. Still, I don't think you will be admitted.
The sun is conjunct Khambalia. Khambalia is a Coptic (Egyptian) word meaning "Crooked-clawed". It causes swift violence, unreliability, changeability, and an argumentative nature (Robson, p. 173). Khambalia is based on the legend of Erigone, daughter of Icarus, who hanged herself through grief over her father's death. Robson says it's Astraea, daughter of one of the Titans, who sided with the Gods against her own father (p. 66). It is said to signify secret knowledge and wisdom, espionage and interests in the learned arts (The Living Stars, Dr. Eric Morse, p. 73).
The moon is conjunct Alterf. This star has the advice of planting, building, marrying, but not travelling (Robson, p. 71).
