I have a problem with a roving pile of library books. I always have 3 to 5 library books but nowhere to put them so they wander around my apartment and make it hard to clean. So I got a small floating superhero bookshelf for $20 that will be exclusively for library books. Fingers crossed this will actually work!

im glad i found this blog because i do feel like the ending was…contrived? forced? im not saying the pacing of eps 1-8 was perfect by any means but the switching between the scarab battle/casper snd nova/shermy simon and beth/simon and golbetty was difficult to follow. and im just reiterating what a lot of people have said but…all of that just for simon to apologize to betty and for betty just to say it’s ok no regrets? im not sure how so many people glean relationship closure. from that scene. it felt so hollow given the depth of their relationship they aren’t going to cry or hesitate or anything? be real here

yeah 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 a lot of th show in general was paced a little weird, but in th first 8 episodes it was so much more. acceptable. these ones were soooo um …. why did we spend so so SO much time on a scarab action scene and not . character stuff? why did we spend so much time in 1000+ ooo when its not even relevant,… so much time spent on just simon and beth. getting to the library and finding the casper & nova book/game its so. everything that happened in ep9 could have been condensed to half the length i feel……. the whole thing is so ….. weird…… yeah its Forced…… they just went “this is how it needs to end” and didn’t EARN any part of that ending

AND I RLY CANT UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE FEEL LIKE SIMON AND BETTY GOT CLOSURE 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 yeah theyve both been obsessed with each other for years to the point of doing amoral things for each others sakes but they just kind of. Say Goodbye. they go welp guess we’re done now!!!!!! huh whuh. in. in what way is this closure for either of them. it doesn’t really feel consistent w bettys character, Even as a weird fucked up space god, for all she wants to b to just explain to simon that their relationship was less than equal and then she feels closure and she’s done and she’s moving on. and in what imaginable world does simon just move on after hearing all of that. they went so so so far for each other and loved each other an insane amount they are way too chill and lowkey about saying goodbye

i cant believe we got through that entire show and simon never fucking cried. man they forgot to take his feelings seriously

and you... what were you trying to prove? it seems that everywhere you turned, someone was always doubting your intentions. shadow and necromancy were two sides of the same coin, parallels in the way they demonstrated their magic. shadow took and took and took, and all necromancy wants is for you to feel safe, to feel secure. even if it means taking it from something else.

so i was thinking about that post i rb'd earlier re- characters not being the 'perfect victim' and lashing out and stuff

and i have a full draft post about it but. it struck me. why i dont like a lot of diluc's fanon characterisation

i think its bcs that. while him being angry, to the point of destruction, at the faceless fatui who got his father killed is seen as a good thing, he's almost constantly demonised about lashing out towards kaeya, when kaeya hurt him deeply, instead of just sitting back and keeping him emotions ""in check"" (heavy sarcasm)

and you can see it in how the fanon has just decided that diluc was trying to kill kaeya that night, despite the text only saying they fought and kaeya getting an injury, and how there's a running theme in ragbros fics about diluc having to apologise for his wrongful actions, with kaeya's actions either being brushed off or non-existant

There's a video of Prince where he talks about sampling, and his disdain for it. He talks about how one day we're going to be hearing songs that are just samples of samples.

I've always loved sampling. I love hearing how different producers flip samples. There's an old, 2010ish, video series on YouTube where they would take producers to used record stores and have them buy vinyl at random, and then watch them make beats using samples from what they picked up.

More recently some of the people on YouTube I watch make music have done a series where they give different producers the same samples and see how each one flips it.

I started noticing a few years back that we'd reach the point where songs from when I was in middle and high school are now being used for songs.

Here's the problem, they aren't flipping the samples. All of these songs just sound like someone made an Ableton loop of an instrumental. They're not pitch shifting it like Kanye would do, they're not incorporating it into something grander like DJ Shadow, they're just taking a preexisting song, looping certain segments and calling it a day.

And while yes it's a valid thing to do, but when I hear a song with a sample I know, and my first thought is I'd rather be hearing the original, you're not doing yourself any favors.

It's sad at the end of May seeing people reblog the "here it comes!" Pride logos post. You didn't notice that brands have decided it is no longer safe to openly support LGBT rights. The past 2 years have shown a dramatic decline in corporate sponsorship of Pride. And no, we don't care about the corporations, but you should care that they think the general public will oppose their support of LGBT rights. Anyway pay attention. The logos didn't change for Pride. It's bad.
