reason: While she presents very femme, rather then a high-pitch childish tone her voice is more rich and deeper... and that's due to her actually being voice by a guy! Her voice provider Kyounosuke Yoshitate publically came out as a trans man in 2020 (albeit ten years after recording Iroha's vocals) - So in my head the character of Iroha is a girl that has a boyish voice because she was assigned male at birth, but that doesn't stop her to sing beautifully as her true self with her natural vocals

However, in 2013 Iroha was added to and got a speaking role in the digital card collecting game Yome Collection (along with other characters from the Hello Kitty to Issho! project), where she is instead voiced by Rei Matsuzaki.

Nekomura Iroha

Nekomura Iroha (猫村いろは) is a Japanese VOCALOID developed and distributed by AH-Software Co. Ltd., and was created in collaboration with SANRIO and the Hello Kitty to Issho! Project. She was initially released in October 2010 for the VOCALOID2 engine. She was updated to the VOCALOID4 engine in June 2015. Her voice provider was initially unrevealed, but was eventually confirmed to be utaite and Showa-style singer Kyounosuke Yoshitate on June 18, 2015.

In the (hopefully not too distant or imaginative) future if Nekomura Iroha gets a new voicebank I’d love for her to have a dedicated Enka setting, whether as an append or a vocal mode/colour.

Reason: was just on vocadb, saw that Iroha’s VP Kyounosuke Yoshitate was tagged under enka, realised we don’t have many enka voicebanks (I know vocaloid had two (one public, one private), CeVio has like 3, utau has 2, but the rest have none. I know Iroha’s company is working on SynthV now so I think it would be cool if Iroha has an enka vocal mode. Of course, this is if Iroha SV becomes a thing, without counting if she is recast and/or a new synth is developed with Yoshitate’s voice. Either way I’d like a enka synthv is what I’m saying but also Iroha SV would be neat).

iroha is a japanese synth developed by ah-software in collaboration with SANRIO and Hello Kitty to Issho! Project. she was originally released on 22 oct 2010, but her character birthday is today. she received a v4 bank on 18 jun 2015. her vp is Kyounosuke Yoshitate and her illustrator is okama. she is a part of the Kittylers (whom she joined in early aug 2010) who "are human characters designed by various artists (for each character) and promoted by Sanrio Wave. Themed around Hello Kitty, they were created for Hello Kitty to Issho! Project."*  Hello Kitty to Issho! is a "project and Sanrio universe, in which illustrators and creators produced works of re-imagined versions of Hello Kitty."*. she was originally designed for the 2009 Comiket (a semiannual doujinshi convention in Tokyo), and was  released as a part of a promotional VOCALOID x Hello Kitty tie-in. she canonically loves hello kitty

Im pretty sure I saw Kyounosuke Yoshitate on twitter express interest in re-recording for a new iroha vb! So it's totally possible!

And considering Kiyoteru is getting a synthv vb I'd be surprised if Yuki didn't also eventually get one. Didn't she get a new voice provider for her V4 vb anyways since her V2 one had become an adult at that point? So I don't see why they couldn't do that again!

As for Oliver...man 😭 I hope so! We're in a golden age of English voice synths rn and I want SO BADLY to see engloids like Oliver, Ruby and Sonika to get some kind of justice through synthv 😭

As a brown trans boy it sucked so badly to watch those “gender envy” slides on tik tok and see only white boys with fluffy hair. It was a little thing but it made me feel invisible even in my own community. So these are men that look like me and give me gender envy.
