making my return with another "i watched something and i don't know how to recommend it to others so i made a powerpoint" post!
come scream with me, it's fun in here, i promise. don't you want to watch a legitimately good crime show with real heart to it. don't you want to get hopelessly invested in a homoerotic duo. the door is wide open!
oh, and additionally: a link to my favorite (spoiler-free) review of the series. and a link to another good one.
Sometimes I randomly remember that Yeo Jingoo got zero award nominations for his performance in Beyond Evil and have to quell my righteous fury. I’m absolutely thrilled that Hakyun got so much attention—that Baeksang was earned 1,000%—but he and Jingoo were such a stellar pair and I wish Jingoo had gotten as much recognition. Neither of them could’ve performed the way they did without each other.
This is a cry for help. I desperately need more kdramas like Beyond Evil and The Devil Judge (yk the type with insane chemistry between the two main male leads, no unnecessary and forced romance with a female character, focusing on the plot rather than romance while also presenting very intense homoerotic scenes)
Shin Hakyun x Kim Young-Kwang: goofballs. Touchy and giggly with lots of inside jokes.
Shin Hakyun x Lee Jung Ha: sweet patient senior with Labrador Retriever junior. More reserved and professional
Shin Hakyun x Yeo Jin goo: www-whattt if we kkkisssedddd 🫣🫣?? Can’t look each other in the eye too long without dissolving into stuttering, blushing messes. Are they acting or actually into each other?? No one knows.
