I headcanon that yellow (and malachite) reapers are called that because they have massive sickle-like wing claws (perhaps climbing claws for scaling cliffs in their feral ancestors?) that were bred for tearing through closely passing enemies or mowing down enemy ground soldiers back in the times before dragons fought each other in formations

Rambling under the cut

It was while making the first when I decided to go back and actually decide how I'll do the wings. In the books, the fingers of the wing had never been described as fingers as far as I remembered. Spines that separate it in sections, mentions of wing joints (Unsure if this refers to spines or joints proper; Temeraire has more than others, French dragons having a distinctive shape of their second joint), Fidelitas being described to be the Yellow Reaper with extra "ribs" in his wings. I guess it can all be flowery figure of speech, but it reminded me a lot of how in medieval European dragon art a winged dragon has a fancy splayed out fin for a wing if it's not feathered.

So anyway, that's my reason for choosing to go a bit outside of keeping it like a bat's. The supporting spines being separate from the bones proper. I'm a fan of the pterosaur shape with at most three fingers: one or two as a digits that count separately, and the other as the leading edge and counts among the "spine".

I'll do a mix of the folded styles depending on breed. Most European breeds I'd probably draw with bird wing style folding because it's cool. Celestials (and perhaps Asian breeds in general), fold their wings tightly, all to heavily lean into the fan iconography when they flare it out.

The sketch wing is boringly practical that vaguely resembled a Chinese Junk's sail. My favorite was the butterfly-moth wing shape. That one just kicks ass.

Desdemona, the Celestial/Yellow Reaper cross @travellingdragon and I have made! She's a bit like Ning only with 100 Charisma and Charm! I really wanted her to look mostly like a yellow reaper so she just gets a little bit of black hahah! I absolutely love that Travelling gave her more fingers on one wing than the other!

True Lab dinner

MTT-Brand Burger Emporium is the closest restaurant to the lab. And because of Alphys relationship with Mettaton she probably has a discount on that place. So she probably buys food there for the Amalgamates. But I don’t think that Kanako would like the Glamburger… Would probably remind her of the Feisty Slider back home… Where her mother is… She would probably miss home even more…

And I don’t think she would be big fan of the Glamburger after being used to eating more traditional burgers (at least I think that Dina makes her food in the saloon and isn’t any brand food)

very quick yellow reaper sketch as i try to figure out their design

took their basic body shape from the golden retriever and the wing shape from pigeons, since yellow reapers are described in canon as the most common and therefore the most "boring" dragons, I took the two animals that are kind of the "default" and "boring" animal/breed seen in human settlements.

what makes them distinct is their stripes which vary among individuals the same way zebra stripes do, the black slash over the eyes which are also black-colored to make it harder for enemies to target their eyesight, and the long, razor-sharp sickle claws on their first wing digit, a unique trait to the reaper line which also gives them their name
