This blog is a thing we agreed to do together in order to try and manage our relationship. In short, the past few months have been chaotic af. In summary, this is what happened (tobias gave me permission to say this, by the way, he’s reading over my shoulder as we speak)

Last year, my boyfriend just dropped out of contact. It was some time in mid-November, after a series of bizarre and erratic calls (and voicemail messages at 3am). He’s a weird, quirky kind of guy and I love that about him, but this was genuinely frightening.

He just cut everyone off very suddenly and without explanation. I went from skyping him every night to not speaking to him at all and it worried me so much I contacted his family. A couple of weeks later, I got a call from his dad telling me he’d come home for no reason and they were worried about his health, he was acting very strange and it was hard to tell whether he was pissing around or whether he was actually delusional. When I visited, he was asleep and had been for almost 24 hrs. Which is so, so unlike him, he never does that. That was a sign something was really wrong.

When he came round, he didn’t remember much of the journey home and kept forgetting he was back in Swansea and trying to go to lectures and panicking if he didn’t get work done. He ended up taking a leave from uni for his health, fyi. If you ask Tobias about it now, he’ll call himself a filthy drop-out but that’s not what happened. Things got pretty complicated, and I had no idea how stable he would be in any given conversation. It was just swings and roundabouts. One week it was normal Tobias, the next it was like I was dealing with someone entirely different, a self-destructive person who would rant about conspiracies all day. We had a heated argument about him looking after himself and seeing a doctor, which in the end he agreed to.

Fast-forward to now. We’re planning on moving in together next year, and Tobias is doing a lot better. He’s been on meds for the past few months (CORRECTION: more meds. Gotta get me them pillz - TOBBS) and is doing alright. He’s reapplied for uni and we’re sorting out a system so he’s got more support in place.

This is the backstory of things and I’d like to say to anyone who’s a friend of Tobias that he’s fine, you shouldn’t worry about any of this. We set up this blog to try and manage some of this maybe
