#Yata gets pissed at him bc Fushimi held his own against Sukuna for like ten minutes all by himself

Since Yata's spine needs a nice long vacation, what about Fushimi breaking his spine pre-ROK. Then he has to infiltrate Jungle and be wheelchair buddies with a thrilled Nagare. Yukari takes advantage of Fushimi's limited mobility for makeover purposes.

This would be interesting, especially if it was a relatively recentdevelopment. Like say Fushimi gets injured somehow during the finalbattle in S1 or even something occurs in MK that causes him to breakhis spine and it’s questionable whether or not he’ll ever be able towalk again. He’s gotten as used to his wheelchair as he can be, likehe can get around in the chair but he finds it a bother to movearound in and of course he’s got all these issues because he feelslike he’s useless if he can’t fight or move independently. WhenSukuna makes that video game about Totsuka and Mikoto’s deaths in ep1 Fushimi gets left behind while the rest of Scepter 4 goes toconfront Homra because it’s considered too dangerous to bring himalong in his current state and that’s a huge blow to Fushimi, likeespecially if the wheelchair is a post-MK development maybe this ishis first chance to meet Misaki since he was injured and Fushimi’sgot all these mixed feelings about that, on the one hand he wants tosee Yata again but on the other he feels like he’ll be pitied in thisstate and there’s no way Yata could really hate him the way Fushimiwants. So he ends up staying behind in headquarters feeling like auseless burden who can’t even carry out simple missions anymore, he’sjust a dead weight and what’s even his purpose in Scepter 4.

So then the Mihashira Tower incident happens and in this case it’sbecause of the wheelchair that Fushimi’s left behind at the vansmonitoring everything. When he and Munakata have their fight inepisode eight the wheelchair is also a sticking point as well,Fushimi accuses Munakata of being a poor King who lets his clansmentake the hits for him and Munakata shoots back that it’s not like heneeds Fushimi here, not in his current state when he can’t even dothe job he was hired for. Of course Fushimi knows the whole thing isa fake but those jabs hurt the most of all. During the month thatFushimi’s on his own he has a lot of difficulties, he’s unwilling tolet Douhan help him and she doesn’t intend to unless he asks so he’sstruggling to do a lot of things that the rest of the alphabet squadwas initially helping him with and he’s learning how non-wheelchairfriendly a lot of public spaces are. When he finally makes J-rank andmeets Yukari Fushimi expects to be looked down on or accused ofcheating because no way anyone like him could do enough to becomeJ-rank. He’s surprised when Yukari just smiles and offers to wheelhim into the hideout because of course he knows that just because aperson is in a wheelchair is no reason to underestimate them.

Fushimi is brought to the main part of the basement and the only onewho really expresses open surprise at Fushimi’s condition is Sukuna,who thinks that Fushimi used Douhan to be his legs since he couldn’tdo anything on his own. Yukari scolds him mildly and Sukunabacktracks a little because of course he would never say thatsomeone’s useless because they’re in a wheelchair when he knows howpowerful Hisui is. Iwafune is probably all pleased and intriguedbecause now at last his burrito child has a similarly disabledplaymate, while Yukari is already plotting ways to take advantage ofFushimi’s lack of mobility to put some moisturizer on that terriblypale skin and maybe get some curlers in Fushimi’s hair, stat. Andjungle’s hideout is very wheelchair friendly, like Fushimi’s amazedhow easily his chair can move in such a small space. Maybe Hisuitries to use their common understanding to his advantage too, likewhen he’s trying to convince Fushimi not to open the gate he notesthat Fushimi should understand him because they are both bound bycertain chains and lack freedom, but in jungle’s new future Fushimiwill be able to decide his own destiny and not need the help ofothers, he can be an individual the way he wishes to be. Fushimiactually finds himself pausing for a moment, more tempted than hecares to admit by the possibility of being truly independent again.Hisui tells Fushimi he understands how Fushimi feels, unable to befully in control of himself, betrayed by his own body, but if hesides with Hisui there will be a new world where he too will have thepower to choose what he wishes. Fushimi finally sighs like’…Choice, huh?’ as he presses the button to open the door (and thenhe has to try and hold off Sukuna while in a wheelchair and beingunused to fighting that way, maybe he just manages to hold his ownbut he’s exhausted and pretty banged up by the time Yata shows up tosave him).
