Here's something interesting (maybe)-
So, a couple years ago, I got bored and was feeling sorry for Taka, as usual, when I decided I wanted to research something that was probably pointless.
BUT I DID IT ANYWAY!
Below the break here is an analysis of Trial 3 of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. I looked at some characters and wrote down things that I thought were noteworthy. Everything (other than the percentiles) has been untouched from my initial research (formatted for Tumblr).
Let me know if you guys have anything else that you think is interesting!
!!SPOILER WARNING FOR CHAPTER 3!!
~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~
Trial 3
(Only gaining some info from nonstop debates)
Victim’s names weren’t mentioned until after 8 mins in
Victim’s often only called “it” or “corpse”
Only talks about Taka when it’s convenient
Hiro’s self-aware that he’s dumb
In talks about both victims, Hifumi seems to be brought up most
Most times Hifumi’s objectified is when he & Taka are lumped together
Hifumi referred to more, but as “he/him” (doesn’t fit criteria)
Taka often only referred to in cases of figuring out Hifumi
Lmao Tick Tock and Huffy
Most times Taka isn’t objectified is when they’re talking about his note
Celeste slandering dead Hifumi
After certain point, Taka’s barely brought up until closing
Taka mostly only referred to as “body” or “corpse”
Hifumi was accomplice, but Taka was/is important
Taka:
# times name called: 63 111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111|111
# times referred to as object: 56 111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111|11
# times referred to total - 119 Ratio - 63:56 % objectified - 47.06%
Hifumi:
# times name called: 104 111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111|11111111111
# times referred to as object: 30 1111111111111111111111111111|11
# times referred to - 134 Ratio - 104:30 % objectified - 22.39%
| - Closing argument
After the trial:
Hifumi was completely manipulated
Celeste slandered Taka’s good name
“He forced me to steal her… He abused me [and] took pictures, saying he’d show everyone if I did not comply… He is going to use her to escape… He is going to kill you [just] so he can have her all to himself.”
God I hate Celeste
“Did you do it for the money?” “…That is not all there is to it.”
Celeste’s dream/goal was to live in a castle which she’d need money for
“Are you asking me to feel guilty? That’s a pointless endeavor.”
~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~
So...
Whaddya think?
I knew at the time that people really didn't like how little Taka was brought up / mentioned during the trial, and I wanted to see if there was any merit to that.
TURNS OUT THERE WAS! I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE ANGRY LOL
I also feel like that last part where Celeste accuses Taka of... well yk what it is. That part is largely forgotten about or actively disregarded by Celeste stans and the Dangan fandom as a whole.
THIS LADY WAS WILLING TO FALSELY ACCUSE SOMEONE OF YKW JUST SO THAT SHE COULD GO LIVE IN A MANSION WITH VAMPIRE BUTLERS!!!! SHE'S NOT A GREAT PERSON!!!!
Props to Hifumi for sticking up for her, but uh... murder? Really?
Hifumi, really, just wanted to help. He thought he was doing something good, and I applaud that. Just... yk... murder?
SO YEAH
HERE ARE MY FINDINGS!
Hope y'all get something meaningful out of this because I grabbed it and now I have NOTHING to do with it :(
Let's all suffer together :D

Do you also hate Celeste? Cause you said you hate bully characters and she’s kind of a bully too, especially with Hifumi.
I also have to disagree with the idea that the liar trope was done better with Celeste. Yes, her talent is centered around gambling and lying, but the way she’s portrayed in the game is kinda meh.. she also got caught for the whole murder plan she made for Taka and Hifumi
Idk, I get Kokichi being annoying sometimes with the lying stuff but imo I think he was better with the liar persona
While I do believe Celeste was better as a liar character, I kinda feel nothing towards her as a character. I don't really like or dislike her, I just kinda feel nothing. (except for what she said to manipulate Hifumi into killing Taka, you don't lie about that shit what the fuck) Part of the reason why I do prefer her to Ouma though is at least her personality is bearable. And not just childish insults and straight-up bullying and manipulation in chapter 4.
But the main reason why I prefer how Celeste was done as a liar character is because it's not her ENTIRE character. She has stuff BEYOND her lies. She actually has a personality, aim, goals. And if you took away her lies, something actually would be there; her true self as Taeko Yasuhiro and how desperate she is to hide it.
As for Ouma? "It's a lie! Or was it? No, it was a lie! Or was it?" ...That's basically his entire character. And if you took away his lies, you'd have. Nothing. Sure, a character who is "there is no truth there is only lies" sounds cool on paper but. It's literally nothing.
And not to mention a REAL liar character shouldn't explicitly tell you "LMAO I WAS LYING" every time they lie. Celeste actually cuts the crap and if she does get called out she just insists she wasn't lying and moves on. None of the telegraphing Ouma does.
But that's just my opinion. Sure the fandom will kill me for it but eh

Danganronpa and Pokémon
So like, I've thought about both perspectives of this. What Pokémon/gym leader type would Danganronpa characters have, and what Ultimate Talent Pokémon characters would have? I'm just gonna list THH characters cuz why not.
Oh, also like spoilers for Danganronpa I guess so don't read ahead if like you haven't played these games. Or do, the games are kinda extremely long and painful.
Sayaka Maizono - Psychic/Fairy. Cuz like, all the "I'm psychic" things and Pop Idol is fairy type vibes. Considering both of those things, she'd probably have an ace Gardevoir.
Mukuro Ikusaba - Fighting/Dark/Steel. Mukuro is super vague in like, every way, but she's a military fighter. And she's like, evil. That's about it. With that in mind, though, she'd have an ace Tyranitar or something. Tyranitar is like, canonically super evil and can't feel pain and can't be stopped and whatnot, so that makes sense.
Leon Kuwata - Fighting. There's not really a fitting type for sports? I guess fighting cuz like physical skills??? Maybe he'd have like a Marowak or a Lucario (who uses bone rush like in Pokken) help him practice? Or have like a Machoke/Machamp pitch it for him to hit. I don't know.
Chihiro Fujisaki - Electric/Steel. Bro, they're the coding guy. Electric and Steel are like, the only options. I know I already said Gardevoir for Sayaka, and I stand by that, but it'd be neat if Chihiro had a male Gardevoir. I guess Iron Valiant is also pretty #gender. They aren't electric or steel but they're a robot so like close enough. Fun Fact, Pokémon trainers tend to have more Pokémon of the same gender on their team, so Chihiro having more male Pokémon before/if it isn't revealed would be some funny thing to do. Uh, but their ace would probably be Togedamaru. Cute little steel-electric guy.
Mondo Owada - Dark/Fighting. Dark more likely, probably those dark Pokémon that mention "they aren't actually that bad btw" He'd have a Sableye cuz like Crazy Diamond and whatnot, but he'd have an ace Scrafty. Deliquent and all that.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru - Normal/Fighting. He's just super serious all the time. I say normal because man's ace is 1000% Watchhog. Bro's just so serious all the time. And normal Pokémon probably are less likely to be like, troublemakers.
Hifumi Yamada - Fairy. Look, I'm one of like 2 people who know Hifumi has more of a character than being a simp and a creep, but even then, his team would just be... Y'know. Ace would probably be Lopunny.
Celestia Ludenberg (Taeko Yasuhiro) - Psychic or Dark. Gothitelle. Besides that though, psychic Pokémon would probably be helpful for gambling, (if not illegal) and Dark is just her whole aesthetic.
Sakura Ogami - Fighting. I feel like she'd specifically have Conkeldurr. I don't know why. Ace would most likely be Medicham, though. Super strong, and super wise. Might mega evolve too.
Junko Enoshima - Dragon. Most dragon types are like, super evil, and Dark Type doesn't really suit her. She'd have Giratina if her having a legendary would be so like, logically impossible. Like, in a real world with Pokémon gods, it would not be feasible for a high schooler to catch Pokesatan. Haxorus would be her Ace, super intimidating. Or Hydreigon, that thing is canonically just pure evil.
Makoto Naegi - Normal. I don't need to elaborate on this one at all. He'd have a shiny Blissey, because Lucky.
Kyoko Kirigiri - Ghost. Maybe it'd be sort of odd to have a homicide detective have ghost buddies, maybe that'd be insensitive, but eh. They'd have a Stoutland if they didn't have ghost types for obvious reasons. Ace Chandelure because... honestly, no other ghost type fits, and I imagine as a Litwick they would be like, a lamp on a book she'd read, or something.
Aoi Asahina - Water. Probably Barraskewda ace, because Fast Fish and Swimming Pro. Veluza if Veluza was actually fast stats wise.
Byakuya Togami - Dragon. He probably, actually, most definitely, not have a single type. Dragon is very intimidating and important, so that feels most fitting for him, but he'd probably just have Pokémon that can support him. Alakazam so he can have someone near his massive intelligence, would ride like, a Charizard or something completely exaggerated/absurd. Etc.
Yasuhiro Hagakure - Psychic. He'd probably have like, Unown or something just so he seems important. He still has to canonically not be good at being a psychic, at least in my eyes. If he didn't have that restriction, Xatu. Because he does, Slowbro. Because idiot joke.
Toko Fukawa - Ghost. Because writers have ghost vibes and cause serial killer. Probably mysterious or unique Pokémon, like Sigilyph and whatnot. Ace Froslass because of lore and because Froslass canonically freezes men.
And that's that. This took longer than expected.
I'll do other Danganronpa characters soon enough, and then the other way around for Pokémon gym leaders.

So I’ve always been more of an UnderTale centric blog, but I’m also in the Danganronpa fandom.
(Yes yes, Danganronpa, UnderTale, Kayne West, Fingers, MOVING ON!)
So I was looking at V3’s cast, and I thought to myself “hey! Shuichi is kinda like a Makoto/Kirigiri fusion.” And more than once I’ve seen AUs where Shuichi is there kid.
Then I thought of something. “Oh my god... are ALL the V3 members fusions?!”
And if you do the math, it adds up. 32 students from the first two games, 16 in V3.
So I went to work trying to determine if this theory bore any real fruit and started pairing characters (in a non romantic sense, this isn’t some big shipping post). When it came to determining these fusions, I focused on a few different traits for each character. For some it was their talent, others it was their personality traits, and sometimes it was both.
Some fusions admittedly make more sense than others, but I’m going to send each fusion and my reasoning for them.
Starting with Shuichi, who is a fusion of Makoto and Kyoko. (Side note, I’ll be sticking to everyone’s first names.) So the parts he got from Kyoko are pretty obvious, they’re both detectives and emo. From Makoto though, he gets the role of protagonist as well as a good amount of Makoto’s “good boy energy” or G.B.E. for short.
Next we’ve got Kaede, a Sayaka and Aoi fusion. Kaede and Sayaka have a few things in common. Their personalities are both cheerful, they’ve both got musical talents, they both wanted everyone to be friends, and they both jumped the gun and got themselves killed. Yeah... as for Aoi... uh... yeah this was one of those “I don’t really know where to put you so I’ll put you here” scenarios. I mean, Aoi ALSO kind of jumped the gun and almost got everyone killed, which is why I chose to put her in the Kaede fusion pair.
After our protagonists, who better than the rival? Kokichi’s fusion is easily one of if not the least surprising. He’s a fusion of Nagito and Byakuya. Like Nagito, he’s completely insane, obsesses over something (in his case lies) and he sacrifices himself in chapter 5, though for a relatively more selfless cause then Nagito. Keyword being relatively.
On the other end of the spectrum is Kaito, a fusion between Nekomaru and Yasuhiro. Hiro’s inspiration is pretty obvious once you think about it. There’s the jacket and it’s abnormal way of being worn, the airheadedness, and they both have space relations. (Didn’t aliens steal Hiro’s burger or something?) As for Nekomaru, well, it’s obvious right? He was a constant pillar of support for his friends and did exercises with Shuichi and Makinto help them both physically and mentally.
Speaking of Maki, she’s a Mukuro and Hiyoko fusion. Yeah, that’s a weird one right? Well here me out. The Mukuro part is obvious enough, she’s a solider and Maki is an assassin, each having a murder related talent, plus they both fell for lovable dorks. Hiyoko is another situation like Aoi unfortunately. The only common ground I could find was that Maki is kinda short and pretty mean at times. (Her talent could’ve been the Ultimate Tsundere tbh)
On the topic of short girls, Himiko is a Chihiro and Ibuki fusion. Yeah... definitely a weird one there. Chihiro has two main things that lead me to one conclusion. One is they’re both pretty meek except for when it comes to their talent. The other thing was that Chihiro was a tech wiz. Eh... get it, wiz? Right, moving on...
K1-B0 is a Hajime/Chiaki fusion. Like Chiaki, Kiibo is an artificial being, and then there’s the connections to Hajime. Both were evil versions of the Ultimate Hope, albeit unintentionally, and while Kiibo also has loads of G.B.E. he can also tap into his inner Hajime and be sassy as heck. Plus there was their problems revolving around their talents. Hajime wanting to prove he had a talent and K1-B0 wanting to prove his talent was useful, despite his numerous physical setbacks like being weaker and having worse eyesight than the average human.
Next is Tsumugi. Ah Tsumugi, at first I wanted to fuse Junko with Hifumi to make her, combining the Mastermind aspect of Junko with the weebiness of Hifumi. Then I realized that there was a more obvious fit. Twogami and his imposter talent practically mirror’s Tsumugi’s Cosplay talent. End result: Tsumugi is a Junko/Twogami fusion!
Rantaro is...uh... a Kiyotaka/Leon fusion...? Yeah I honestly didn’t know who to put with this guy and these two were just kinda there. I mean, Leon is a “ladies man” and I think Rantaro gave that vibe off? As for Taka, I would just look at him, and then Rantaro, and day to myself “yeah, that fits” for no real reason. Like, there were no grounds for my argument and even so! *sigh* moving on...
Ryoma is Fuyuhiko and Akane. This one kinda makes sense. Ryoma and Fuyuhiko are both smol men with baby faces that can be scary when they want to, and Ryoma and Akane both had it rough prior to school. Yeah I’m not too good with this one either.
Back to more realistic fusions, Kirumi is a Celestia/Peko fusion. Celeste’s goth aesthetic plus Peko’s unwavering sense of duty merge and that’s basically Kirumi in a nutshell.
Angie is Sonia and Hifumi. Angie and Hifumi are both artists, simple as that, and just as Sonia was the ruler of her country, Angie was basically the one running hers, not to mention they were both really weird.
I don’t like Tenko so I’ll make this fast. Mondo and Mahiru. I heard Mondo is supposed to represent toxic masculinity (but he’s portrayed in a way that makes his character GOOD!) and then there’s Mahiru with her constantly getting on guys’ case telling them that they should be doing all these things for no reason other than their gender. Put the two together and you get Tenko and her screaming about “Degenerate males” every five minutes. For someone who hates guys so much, she sure seems to talk about them a lot...
Korekiyo was one that was so obvious I kicked myself for not figuring it out sooner. Mikan and Touko. Touko’s split personality is the same as Kiyo being “possessed” by his sister, and his relationship with his sister mirrors Mikan’s relationship with Junko. Yeah, some dark basis for fusion reasoning, but it works.
Miu. Teruteru’s perverted personality meets Kazuichi’s technological prowess. Nuff said.
And last, but far from least is Gonta. He stronk and noble like Sakura, both sacrificing themselves doing what they believed was right, and he’s good with animals like Gundam.
WOW this took forever to write. Please comment or reblog with your opinions on this theory. How reliable is it? Should I switch some fusions around? Why? I take constructive criticism in stride.

Danganronpa: Despair Time Part 2
=======================
Tumblr media
The Ultimate Student, Min Jeung. She's very reserved and does well to keep her talent as a student, saying she needs to keep studying to maintain her talent, which given the study habits of other countries, I can see why. She's able to memorize anything which would definitely come into play during the class trials, although this may also play into an advantage where she can manipulate evidence to make it seem like nothing had changed. She also gives this, "I don't want to talk unless I have to" vibe, much like Kyoko Kirigiri's intro from the first game. I think she too would be a survivor of the killing game but I would love to see her come out of a shell she seems to have built around herself. But if not, she's gonna die probably via execution. Maybe she would find she took a test, got an F and then gets dropped into a trash compactor where she struggles to keep it open until the last thing breaks and she gets squished. Poor thing...
Tumblr media
Whit Young is the Ultimate Matchmaker who seems to ship Teruko and Xander. I'm not gonna lie though, I lowkey ship it. But he seems to not take things seriously as he has a very laid back, teasing personality. Aside from Eden, he may actually be younger than he looks, but I'm interested to see where his character goes. This laid back kinda take on life makes me think of Yasuhiro Hagakure, but I hope he's not as useless. I mean let's be honest, I like Hiro, but... he could have done more to help the trials. At least Ultra Despair Girls Hagakure kinda redeemed him. This being said, I don't see Whit making it to the end, probably dying in Chapter 3 as a victim. I can't seem to think of an execution for a matchmaker so I'm certain he's a victim. Sorry.
Tumblr media
Charles Cuevas. I think if anyone, he's the Byakuya Togami of this cast, thinking everyone is beneath him. What's so special about chemistry anyway? Don't actually answer that because that would mean a lot of work and people probably flooding my inbox about it. He even mentions that he probably would have ignored the invitation if he had seen the students beforehand, which means he probably spends more of his time working on chemistry things as opposed to doing research like Naegi did as Hope's Peak has forum's that show who is coming to the school. This kind of ignorance may lead to his death or make for an interesting culprit, namely Chapter 3. So if it isn't Veronika as the culprit, Charles is definitely a contender.
Tumblr media
The Ultimate Bowler, Arei Nageishi. Funny, I'm usually good with Japanese names, but I keep pronouncing her name like Ar-ee-eh, when I know that's not correct. I can get her last name down without an issue, but her first name? Forget it. But she gives me strong Miu Iruma vibes, more so in being kind of a tease, but then when someone tries to fight back she reverts into scared mode. She has probably manipulated people into giving her what she wants this way, acting all cool and collected but the instant someone tried to call her out on her shit, she's all sad and starts crying crocodile tears. No matter though, as this could make for an interesting dynamic she might have with other characters. I don't see her living sadly, as I have dubbed her the Chapter 4 victim. She could also be the culprit and she'd more than likely get hit in the head with a bowling ball as her execution. Then getting squished at the end or flung out like how the ball return at bowling alleys are, slamming her into a wall. Ouch.
Tumblr media
This is me. Haha, I'm kidding, but I feel like it would be me in a killing game situation. Meet Nico Hakobyan, the Ultimate Pet Therapist. At first, I thought he would be an Ultimate Furry but Pet Therapist seems pretty cool. Probably someone I would definitely want so I could help any future pupper grow and be healthy. He's really shy and doesn't want to talk to anyone which is fine, I'm fine with all of that, but this kind of behavior warrants an early death. The demeanor makes me think of Kazuichi Soda, but like moreso to an extreme, but dying in Chapter 2, I'm sorry. I will mourn your death when it comes.
Tumblr media
Meet the final student, who tends to zone out like Chiaki Nanami. This is Rose LaCroix, the Ultimate Art Forger. She's definitely the kind that may be able to catch onto other people's shit during a trial, making her rather dangerous. She's also kind of suspicious as well, given she is the only one to notice subtle changes about herself, like her height, apron, hair length, and how long the students might have been gone. So this being said, I feel she's kind of the mastermind but also probably not. If not, she's probably going to die as a victim or a culprit. Like there could be two versions of her and the real her gets burned for being a fake while the customer takes the real one. That's a horrible way to go.
But there's my summary of the students and how I think they will fare in this killing game. Just remember that all of this is pure speculation and I odds are I'm not even right about any of them. But until we find out, we'll never know. I look forward to seeing this series play out

alright gonna watch these V3 talent development plans i haven’t seen yet (or don’t think i have? i know i’ve at least done kaede, shuichi, kaito and maki but may have done one or two more like kokichi but idk i’ll see how familiar they are i guess)
Angie (help)
I can’t tell if Himiko even cares about Angie’s shit, though to be fair we didn’t see the conversion happen onscreen in V3 so eh. Even when she makes a deal she’s still very apathetic lol
okay i have to admit yasuhiro falling for the atua stuff so easily after trying to profit off of it is still funny
Seeing Korekiyo talk to her was interesting. He’s genuinely interested to learn, but Angie’s just all “pls join me”, and when he makes his anthropological intents clearer Angie seems disturbed and is all “Atua’s business hours are closed now!” I also love how Angie tries to intimidate him and he’s just like “cool story bro, like I’m giving up my academic pursuits”. But hey, these are two characters I kind of wanted to see interact.
Angie basically asks for Hifumi’s help in the scavenger hut just cuz he has a big body, and when Hifumi is understandably feeling fat shamed, Angie just threatens him into it.
Angie also asks for Chihiro’s help, and Chihiro at first is confused at the Atua stuff and just wants to help, but when Angie tries to suck up to her with the “watching over you” stuff Chihiro is just creeped out. :v
Angie tries to get Hiyoko to help again but she just makes things hell for Angie, lol.
Aoi and Sakura go into Angie’s haunted house, and Aoi seems kinda intimidated. Sakura seems to understand and respect her spirituality tho.
Toko is naturally defensive and refuses Angie’s BS. When Angie just focuses on the house, Toko is just all “eww there’s probably perverted couples doing things in the dark” and calls Angie a perv. :v Angie weirdly mentions it’s a possibility, lol. For a moment, I thought Toko was gonna try and find Byakuya and drag him in cuz Angie also says scary things help bring people closer.
Akane is also just weirded out and doesn’t even comprehend her threat of punishment over six generations. :v
Okay so Himiko doesn’t even care about Atua after all. I guess Angie converting her was down to killing game circumstances. :v In an actual sweet moment, Himiko says basically that even though she doesn’t get Atua, Angie thinking of her is real.
Okay weird bit of continuity break, but Yasuhiro suddenly doesn’t know about Atua??? I’ve liked the continuity between all of the different characters here, but... this feels pretty egregious. Unless he literally just forgot the whole thing and/or was insincere, lol. Anyway, he asks for her help, and Angie says Atua will always watch over him, but he’s too panicked over the Yakuza stuff to think that’s enough. Angie said he can make a sacrifice, to which he just panics and runs off. :v
Tenko thanks Angie for helping Himiko’s show, but she then gets all insecure because she asked for Angie’s help first and then goes on about how her contributions matter too. Angie just says she likes how dedicated she is, with of course the caveat of “you’d be good in prayer” lol. Also, in response Tenko says “degenrate males may be the worst, but girls can be sneaky too”. Let’s see how this keeps up and if Tenko hates the gender binary later on. :P
Tenko
Lol Tenko thinks Chiaki spacing out for a bit was a tactic to throw her off.
Tenko and Ibuki are so loud and hyper they’re just told to shut up, lol.
Tenko considers Fuyuhiko suspicious, which naturally pisses him off, even more so for Tenko suspecting he’s here to perv on the girls during the magic show. Apparently Sakura and Peko had to intervene in their argument too lol.
OMG she’s facing Taka... *gets popcorn* When Tenko finds him suspicious, he says he’s on the public morals committee so it should be fine, but Tenko despite acknowledging this is conflicted and ultimately still refuses him because he’s male. Taka is pretty hurt actually, because it’s something he can’t change about himself, with his whole achievement through effort mentality. Poor Taka is crying and Tenko even admits to herself she feels bad about what she did.
Mikan does her whole tripping thing, and Tenko swoops in as a hero of justice to help her. Tenko tells her she does a great job helping everyone, and Mikan... really likes it. She gets her to say it again. XD
OMFG Mahiru’s photography skills are able to make the boys in Tenko’s class look endearing to her despite her usual reservations. Damn, amazing that the one person to let her guard down around other males was the other girl who is sick of the boys (Mahiru even says they’re still acting dumb after three years :v).
Rantaro
Korekiyo kinda relates to him cuz of the whole sister thing (though I imagine Rantaro isn’t into incest :v), and when he realises that’s part of his travels, he gets very supportive, even saying he’d want to hear more of her if he ever finds her. Why do I have the feeling he plans to get her for his sister’s “friends”. :v
Taka is worried about Rantaro not studying enough. Rantaro assures everything is fine and that he does have serious reasons for traveling, but does kinda admit he wants to catch up on things, lol.
Rantaro reminisces about how his family had a maid when he was a kid, and Kirumi seems to find it a sweet story. She’s initially cautious when he says she’s making him nostalgic though because she’s worried she’s reminding him of a mother, lol. I guess Kokichi’s up to his shit here too.
Rantaro compliments some of Mahiru’s photos, and specifically notices ones where they’re eating Teruteru’s cooking. Mahiru wants to thank him but she has such a low opinion of him, and Rantaro thinks even if he’s nice deep down he’s pretty much impossible to defend, lol.
Rantaro compliments Mukuro as Junko, but insists he’s not hitting on her. Mukuro kinda recognises despite appearing like someone who gets around a lot, he actually isn’t, and Rantaro is relieves about that. They seem to get along well.
Kaede saved some cake for him even if he was away during Christmas cuz she expected him to return, aww. Also lol, she admits she would’ve eaten it if he didn’t make it back after all.
Korekiyo kinda implies the last conversation didn’t happen like the Angie one... weird. It feels very similar to that last one, being interested in travels and supporting him, recognising Rantaro has a purpose to his traveling.
Mukuro admits to Rantaro she spent a lot of time in the Middle East, including dangerous places. *cough*war zones*cough* Mukuro figures out Rantaro gets into lots of dangerous stuff too though, and when Rantaro hesitantly admits it’s about his sister, you get the sense Mukuro kind of relates to that bond herself cuz of Junko (even if her relationship with her is all kinds of fucked up).
Ryoma
Ryoma tries to lose table tennis, but wins anyway. Hifumi studied a table tennis manga, but lost anyway.
Ryoma crushes Komaeda in table tennis, but Komaeda is happy he lost because he saw Ryoma’s talent. Ryoma isn’t a fan.
Chihiro is getting cream puffs for friends, and Ryoma accidentally implies they’re weak cuz they’re small. Chihiro is briefly upset but Ryoma corrects himself, realising people judge him by his size too, he even gives Chihiro a free cream puff too.
Lol Taka accuses Ryoma of smoking, only to then get corrected... except he still orders Ryoma to stop because he thinks it’s rude for customer service to do that.
Kaito being all upset at Ryoma again, though Ryoma is surprised he just wanted to talk about tennis. If it was that simple, he would’ve went along with it a long time ago, lol.
Hajime convinces Ryoma to watch the magic show. Ryoma initially avoided it because he’s worried about being too happy and thinks he doesn’t deserve that, but Hajime tells him to treasure the time he has.
Heh, Fuyuhiko tells Ryoma he knew what he did and he doesn’t judge him for it (even saying he has “serious balls” lol), and actually says after graduation he’s willing to help him out if he needs it. Unexpected but nice to see this, kinda makes sense in hindsight.
Kirumi
Mikan trips in front of Kirumi, and while she tells her to compose herself, she offers to clean her apron, which just makes Mikan worry more lol.
Taka and Mondo get into an argument, and Kirumi helps mediate, even if they initially try to stop her. She also says they’ve become brothers, I’m not sure the fandom would agree there. :P
Kirumi helps Hifumi after being burnt out from working too much. Hifumi is really grateful (tho makes the mistake of calling her motherly lol), and even requests Kirumi assist him in the art process, but she reminds him that it’s still his passion and it’s something he loves even if he doesn’t take care of himself well.
Leon asks Kirumi to help him get a gift for his cousin. *remembers who his cousin is* Oh, right. :v
Korekiyo
Lol because he got a card with something about the person who he likes he switches cards with Himiko, and when she’s suspicious he just says her magic did it.
Another take on this is he broadens his definition of like and goes with Sayaka, when she questions what the card of his said he lies. :P
He also considers passing the card to Teruteru, but all that does is make him talk about how much he likes being open about love and wonders if Korekiyo is into him.
Korekiyo helped design the Haunted House, giving insight from many cultures and their stories about ghosts.
Chiaki treats the haunted house like it’s a game, and she even talks about weapons, which makes Kiyo awkwardly tell her to not attack the actors, lol.
Sonia enthusiastically arrives, and well Korekiyo ends up being intrigued about Novoselic.
Korekiyo runs into Hiyoko cleaning the Dojo. She’s creeped out. We see she has some respect for the place, which intrigues Kiyo... but not enough for him to say that she wouldn’t be worthy of being his sister’s friend.
Byakuya caught in the dining hall because cleaning is for plebs. Also, Korekiyo notices Toko isn’t around him, and he actually denies she’s ever even been around him. Cold. Korekiyo actually says he should reciprocate, and I can kinda see why he’d think that way, with his own warped view on love and relationships. Byakuya accuses him of thinking like a commoner and wonder if that’s all he got from anthropology lmao.

Danganronpa tier listttttt
Idk if people know how I feel about these characters, so here ya go! This is my opinion, please don’t attack me for this (also I only did this for the mainline games and Komaru + the Warriors of Hope)
...Also I wanted to go into detail on some of these so yeah Warning: it does get pretty rambly
S tier
...I don’t really feel like I need to explain any of these. MOVING ON
A tier
Chiaki Nanami Please don’t kill me for not putting her in S. I can explain, I promise Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore her and love her relationship with Hajime, but I didn’t really get as attached to her as I did with other characters. I still love her though
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu He has one of the best character arcs in the series, only JUST being outranked by Shuichi. Seriously, best SDR2 survivor, hands DOWN.
Ultimate Imposter Yep. Fake Togami outranks actual Togami by miles. YEAH I SAID IT! Idk, I found them a lot more interesting and likeable than Togami and it was a real shame they got killed off so early. They were pretty fun.
Ryoma Hoshi ...Do I even need to explain why he ranked so high? Like, come ON! He’s one of the most underrated characters in the franchise!
Hajime Hinata 3rd best protag for me (yes I’m counting Kaede shut up), but I still love his arc.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru He was my fave from the first game for a while, but the Kiyondo stuff kinda brought him down for me. And ngl, at times it feels like people only judge him based on his friendship with Mondo. I still love him though.
Mondo Owada Chapter 2. Need I say more. He’s a pretty cool character outside of that, too.
Komaru Naegi Just copy-paste my reason for Ryoma, it’s practically the same.
Nagisa Shingetsu Best Warrior of Hope. Hands down. I will die on this hill.
Kotoko Utsugi Despite being beaten out by Nagisa, I still adore her. She deserves the best.
B tier
Maki Harukawa Okay don’t get me wrong, I like her as a character, but the main problem I had was that her crush on Kaito kinda came out of left field for me. Like, she was a stoic unfeeling assassin and she suddenly fell head over heels for some astronaut that knocked on her door a few times. It feels pretty rushed (though knowing Tsumugi it probably was) and kinda brings her down a few pegs for me.
Korekiyo Shinguji “Why is he ranked so high!? He’s the freaky incest guy-” SHUT UP. Yes, his character was absolutely obliterated by the incest twist, but outside of that he is actually a pretty compelling character. (also if you look into his writing it’s pretty heavily implied that his sister used and abused him so judging him based on the incest thing alone is kinda odd ngl)
Ibuki Mioda She’s pretty fun. I’m not as head-over-heels for her as other people, but she’s pretty fun.
Celestia Ludenberg See, Ouma stans? THIS is how you do a compelling liar character!
Peko Pekoyama Please don’t kill me. It’s just that outside of Fuyuhiko she kinda felt......Eh? Like don’t get me wrong, I like her, but something always felt missing for me.
Nagito Komaeda My favourite antag didn’t even make A tier whoops- Yeah, Nagito is the best rival for me, but I’m not as head-over-heels for him as the rest of the fandom is.
Leon Kuwata PLAY HIS FREE TIME EVENTS.
Kiibo The “that’s robophobic!” joke kinda got old after the billionth time, but other than that he’s fun.
Aoi Asahina Her development is cool, but I don’t really have much to say on her honestly.
Sonia Nevermind Same reason as Aoi, but her relationship with Gundham is pretty cute.
Jataro Kemuri This kid deserves better and needs protection. ...I don’t have much other than that, though.
Monaca Towa This is gonna be controversial, but Monaca is the best villain of the franchise for me. Sure, she’s far from being one of my favourite characters, but she’s menacing and enough of a threat to be a great antagonist.
C tier
Kyoko Kirigiri Please don’t kill me. Like...She’s okay, but for a while I found her kinda......Dull? Idk what to say here.
Makoto Naegi He’s alright, but he’s the weakest protagonist for me.
Tsumugi Shirogane I think people are gonna agree with me the most on this. She’s a decent villain, but the "plainy plainy plain” stuff got REALLY old. (which is partially why I rewrote her entirely in DFTH oops) She’s better than Junko by a long shot, so at least she has that.
Kirumi Tojo She was okay until the nonsensical prime minister twist. Seriously, I detest that twist.
Angie Yonaga ...I don’t really have much to say on her. Like the Atua stuff got pretty old and I found her kinda annoying, but she has enough to put her above the characters I don’t like.
Mahiru Koizumi She kinda felt like a better Tenko, but...Uh...
Teruteru Hanamura Yeah, I don’t outright dislike Teruteru. Shocking, I know. His backstory and the stuff with his mom is charming enough, but the perverted stuff still kinda icks me out. It’s not as bad as Miu’s, though.
Genocider Syo She’s more interesting than Toko, but still not really that much there other than “serial killer that somehow got accepted into this academy but don’t think about that look how quirky she is!!”
Tenko Chabashira Similar to Angie. But the way she drooled over and chased after Himiko was kinda eeeh for me. Not as bad as Souda though, thank god
D tier
Byakuya Togami God, he’s such an asshole. Sure his development and the stuff he does is interesting, but GOD HE’S SUCH AN ASSHOLE.
Akane Owari She’s the most “why the hell are you still here” out of the survivors for me. Like, I don’t outright hate her, but a lot of the time it kinda feels to me like she’s only there for fanservice. (seriously, in one of her sprites she’s literally flashing you. Do I need to say anything else?)
Himiko Yumeno Yeah, she’s also pretty weak for me. Her development post chapter 3 was okay I guess, but it kinda felt too little too late.
Toko Fukawa Ugh. Sure, I don’t really like Togami, but the way she drools over him is gross. Sure she’s somewhat redeemed by her development in UDG, but other than that she doesn’t really offer much.
Yasuhiro Hagakure Didn’t really felt like he offered much other than “blatant comic relief who’s probably a stoner”.
Masaru Daimon The weakest out of the Warriors of Hope by a long shot. Sure, his backstory’s pretty sad, but his personality kinda grated on me, ngl.
Kokichi Ouma PLEASE DON’T KILL ME. Like, everyone hails him as the best written character of the series, but if you look closer into his writing it’s actually pretty bad. Not to mention the stans constantly excusing his actions because “uwu liar boy who’s gay for Shuichi” REALLY brings him down.
E tier
Kazuichi Souda He’s literally all the things people hate about Teruteru, but the fandom barely calls him out for it! Hooray!
Miu Iruma She’s basically just there for NSFW jokes. Need I say more. Also, why is no-one else talking about how problematic the maintenance scene was?
Nekomaru Nidai He’s basically just there for shit jokes. And that really got old for me.
Sayaka Maizono OKAY PLEASE PUT YOUR PITCHFORKS DOWN AND HEAR ME OUT! Look, I’m not gonna deny she was kinda cute, but what she pulled in chapter 1 was honestly really fucking snakey. “But she didn’t know about the class trial stuff!” So what? She was willing to use practically the only person in the academy she was close to as a fall guy so she could get away with murder and didn’t even bat an eye! Even if the trial stuff didn’t happen and she DID get away with killing Leon, did she really think everyone would be okay with it? Hell, did she even CONSIDER how Makoto felt!? Sayaka is a fucking snake! She literally USED Makoto!!! WHY IS NO-ONE CALLING HER OUT!?!?
F tier
Junko Enoshima ...Do I even need to explain this.
Mikan Tsumiki I really didn’t like her, even BEFORE chapter 3. Yeah, I said it. She kinda got on my nerves and the fact that they were playing her up for fanservice despite her backstory was really gross, and chapter 3 just made everything so much worse. Like, her getting her memories back and killing someone could’ve worked, JUST MAKE HER PLAN MAKE SENSE!
Hiyoko Saionji She’s just a fucking bully. Do I really need to elaborate?
Hifumi Yamada ...Again. Do I REALLY NEED TO EXPLAIN THIS!?
