Yasha Hime - ep 1 review

Since I’m an old Inuyasha fandom fossil, I was excited to see what the sequel would be like. 

Here’s what I liked about it:

Seeing the old gang again, which gave me hope that they’d definitely tie up the story together with the three girls.

Inuyasha and Kagome together! Especially the “Sit, boy” scene.

Sango being a badass. 

Kaede being a badass. 

Miroku and Sango’s adorable kids.

Sesshoumaru silently protecting from the sidelines.

KOHAKU. 

Aw, Rin.

Okay, I was even glad to see Jaken and Shippou.

Towa’s obvious link to the future (present times).

Towa personality. She seems calm and very kind but I feel like she puts up a front and could be very deadly. She is so far my favorite of the three girls.

Moroha’s title as a bounty hunter. LOL. Also, like father like daughter much?

Setsuna’s demon slayer roots...I want to know more.

Kikyou throwback. 

The only thing I didn’t like was that after all Inuyasha and Kagome have been through there still seems to be some trust issues when it comes to Kikyou. You’d think they’d be past that by now. It seemed kind of cheap that they’d still have communication problems about the dead priestess whenever she’s mentioned. Kikyou fought a lot of demons so it would be no wonder that her past handiwork would come back in some way, like the arrow or even other past remnants. 

Obviously there are a lot of questions, and I’m really curious to see how the lineage of the three girls gets connected to Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru.

Because let’s be honest, we all REALLY want to know who had TWINS with Sesshoumaru.

I started watching Inuyasha in 2004 when I was 14 years old. 2~0~0~4!

THAT WAS SIXTEEN (16) YEARS AGO!

My sister and I would wake up at midnight to TAPE THE EPISODES ON VHS.

I’m super excited for the movie! I was wary at first but feel more comfortable now that I’ve seen the PV for it!

Any other Millennials out there (I’m 29 years old now).

So.... I’m a little hesitant to comment on the yasha-hime anime.... i tend to be in the “last to know/find out” category, and i also tend to keep silent on issues that have (from what i do experience) caused drama in the fandom. I have so few fucks to give that it’s just not worth the energy to argue or debate unknowns

However, after getting a chance to see the trailer to the series - but having very limited knowledge of what has been revealed - I’m super intrigued about the twins.... Towa is super cute and Setsuna (at least to me) reminds me very much of Sango, so immediately my brain was like “Sango & Miroku’s twins! *gavel*”

Of course I see Moroha and my heart melts at the precious baby. And yay for grownup Souta and an..... unaged Kohaku?

Anyway, just thought I’d share my insomnia-induced musings...

Walking charmed by your hand so I don’t get lost. Outburst of cicadas dyeing the festival colours of summer. The temperature that even tied tightly obi comes loose. The Moon melts too, at a sultry night when something seems to happen. I induced the words of invitation for the second time. An OK after two weeks of irritating you. Being pressed by wave of people, approaching the lips… When you avert my eyes, I consider it a perfect suggestive sign. Even unbearable tactics became tame, no uncomfortable feeling. I said things like 「…embarrasing」 however I’m not that geniuine. I raise my eyes at the night sky where petals flies overlaping one onother for a moment in this transient world. Whereabouts of my heart have been revealed in my body but not in my spirit. One night love affair, soon the festival will mark the end. Your glances are unnoticed, hands tied as they were. Many arrows fly without facing each other. All acts leading to enlightenment are uncertain circumstances, "feelings" are farce and so is the festival’s music band. It seems a whimsical shooting star is not likely to grant our desires. Interrupted these words just to dropp the tears. I greet the season when dead falling leaves dances and the calendar rotates in a moment of this transient world. Whereabouts of my heart has been revealed now here too. Even if the long night of love is burning in my chest, I will not go back to the days of passed summer. In an orange memory I recall you from those days. I raise my eyes at the night sky and make you hear these words. I recall you just in selfishness.
