Summary:

Because of their incompetence, the Devon Family is on the brink of poverty. The only rational one in the family is Courtney Devon; she is constantly trying to stop her family from spending their money frivolously. Even though Courtney only nags them to protect their family name she’s viewed as the bad guy. Then, one day Courtney and the Devon Family receive a letter from the Imperial Palace; it seems like the Crown Prince wants to make Courtney the Crown Princess. When she first meets him, everything seems too good to be true. He seems like a perfect man. However, she later finds out that the Prince has a bit of a dark side. He’s a masochist. Will Courtney discover a new side of herself and live happily ever after as a Dom?

My Feelings About It (No Spoilers):

 Oh my God guys, I love this one. To start…the smut is amazing. As the summary explains, the ml is a masochist. Watching the mc’s sub/dom dynamic might have awakened something in me lol. I like how they deal with BDSM in this comic. It’s a lot of fun to watch the fl learn about BDSM and that she’s into it. Both the fl and the ml are into the stuff that they do during smut scenes (I know this is the bare minimum but…I thought I should mention it because there are some works that depict BDSM as something you force on another person cough cough “50 Shades of Gray” lol) and because of that you feel like you’re just reading about two people who are exploring their relationship with BDSM and what works for their relationship. But I’m still recommending this as a yandere manhwa, so it’s definitely not a normal, healthy BDSM relationship (just to be clear.) Also, I’m not part of the BDSM community, so maybe take my assessment of that aspect of the manhwa with a grain of salt.  It’s completely uncensored; this might be a pro or con depending on what you're comfortable with, but I personally loved it.

I love the fl. She’s written well. She’s a person who knows her own worth and always stands up for herself; at the same time, she’s not needlessly mean. She also has a good head on her shoulders; she’s a realist who doesn’t tolerate any bullshit. Overall, she felt like she could be a real person. Plus…I enjoy it when she gets angry and switches to sadist mode lol. 

The male lead is my ideal kind of yandere. He appears perfect at first, but of course, he has a dark side. He’s the sub, so he pretty much does whatever the fl wants him to. But he’s also super clingy and obsessive and would 100% kill someone if they tried to separate him and the fl/if they hurt the fl. There are only 22 episodes currently out, so as of right now there are only a couple of explicit yandere moments, but there is definitely more to come.

Overall, I loved reading this. I think the characters are well written and the smut scenes are hot. This might not be for everyone, but if you’re interested… I definitely recommend that you check it out.

He pressed the knife blade harder, creasing your flesh, and you inhale sharply. The scent of him infects your senses, even over the horrid aroma of the now wet, city.

He had spoke so smoothly on that rooftop, but his words burned on the way down like the synth brandy you’re sipping on now.

What does he even want? What does he mean?

22:50 Devon’s Lounge, New Burrows

Your glass clinks as you set it back onto the table. Slow Jazz emanates from the only lit corner of the bar with a solemn piano, some drums keeping the tempo, and a saxophone to sing the wordless melody.

The air buzzes with the chords all around you.

Your mind drifts back to his hand raking through your hair, and how he used that grip to expose your neck. The blade pushed up against your skin. Again, and again that memory won’t stop pestering you.

Blood throughout your body lights up intensely heating from your face down to your core.

You take a deep breath, reminding yourself that you are in public. Not like anyone would notice in this dimly lit place, but you’d rather not show anymore weakness today.

A woman that you know as “Babydoll” sways gracefully onto the stage. Her shimmering, skintight dress perfectly hugs her plump, curvaceous body.

She scans the crowd -though you aren’t sure she can actually see anybody, that is, until she extends her arm out directly to you.

“Is that New Burrow’s favorite PI?” Her smile isn’t malicious, but you know she wants to create a scene for some entertainment. “Let’s give them a show darling.” Her elegance exudes in her every atom, even the words she speaks.

You sigh, trying to un-furrow your brow, and get up, hoping to make it to her in one piece.

Now the once peacefully buzzing air is hushed and filled to almost bursting with anticipation.

Anticipation of your next failure.

You hold your head high, as you reach the stage that felt miles away a second ago, she hands you a mic.

She signals to the band, and they play something you all know in new burrows.

At least she gave you that. You almost let out a relieved laugh, but manage to simply smile at her instead.

“In New Burrows,” She starts singing in tune.

You join in quietly at first to harmonize, “In New Burrows…”

A few lines later and the song picks up into something more, seductive, “So drink up now darlin’” you give the crowd a little shimmy, and hear a patron hoot.

The words flow out easily now, but you’re getting too hot and uncomfortable… When you suddenly have an entertaining idea.

Slowly shrugging off your trench coat with as much grace as you can muster, You keep singing along with her, you throw it into the crowd. You see someone catch it, and whistles ring against your ear drums over the music.

Oh the music,

His hand in your hair…

You can’t help but be set ablaze, imagining your ghost in that crowd. What would he be thinking?

They like what you’re doing, and that thrills you, you loose a couple buttons of your blouse, and roll your neck.

Babydoll claps for you, along with the hungry, and now growing crowd. Your hips sway effortlessly along to the smooth rhythm.

When your song finally ends you bow, hair tousled and your blouse is gone.

Main just an undershirt, skirt, and pumps left you dash backstage, hyperventilating.

All the nerves you set aside for that caught up to you, along with the unsettling thrill of what you just did.

You allow a smile to crease your cheeks.

Though the applause is thunderous, an even louder, single clap startles you back into your body.

With a spin, you now stand face to face with the infamous, Fiorentino, “You…” You all but snarl.

New Burrows most exalted criminal.

Nobody’s been able to put a stop to him, even though everyone knows the atrocities he orders out.

“I’m hurt, detective.” He places a hand over his heart. “I am here offering a sort of… peace…” He leans closer, without actually touching you, he smells of real cigars, just proving his wealth more, “Come with me to the Mesosphere tomorrow,”

Babydoll returns just in time with your trench coat in her hands. “Fiorentino.” She greets with the perfect grace only she could pull off toward this scum. “She’s already my date for the event at the Mesoshpere, and duet partner that night.” She places her cute hand onto your shoulder.

Weird Earth kinda started as a joke tbh. The premise was Earth except magic and magical creatures and stuff are real. And the magicals have only recently come out of hiding from nonmagicals and the two groups are trying to learn to coexist. Y'know the usual drill.

But all the places in the world are identical to our world, except Weird is added to the beginning of the names. So like Z lives in Weird London and is from Weird Devon. Also King Arthur returned and everything's sort of on hold in the UK government as they try to figure out How Things Work Now and also catch him up on like over a thousand years of history.

But yeah, there's like... extremist religious cults that are dedicated to removing all magic from the world (Lin was raised in one of them, but left), groups of people who poach magical creatures to harvest them for various magical properties, and lots of other stuff that comes with magic only recently becoming public knowledge and the two worlds slowly trying to mesh.

Lin runs a freakshow of magical creatures he's rescued from poachers. It's like... ethically dubious at best, kinda fucked up. He was raised to believe magical creatures need to be killed, and he realised that wasn't true, but then like... decided instead he should study them? But most of them are sentient humanoids? So he's just keeping these people in cages and making them perform and dissecting them/examining them like science specimens. He's just a fucked up lil guy who's silly and nervous and giggly!! He thinks he's doing a good thing, but really it's just kinda fucked up. Also when he falls for a magical creature, he gets very yandere for them~

Okay, Murder Cousins AU: Hear me out that there has been some arguments between Jake and Devon, not a lot but there have been some detrimental ones. One time and one time only, Jake accidentally threatened to kill Devon. So, Devon grabbed the nearest kitchen knife, put it in Jake’s hands and put it towards his neck and told him to do it. And when Jake couldn’t, all Devon said “If I was that easy to kill, you would’ve done it already.” before walking away.
