(The Cradle) On 5 January, 1996, Israel assassinated the resistance mastermind, Yahya Ayyash, the very first engineer of Hamas’ Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, after a manhunt that lasted more than 5 years.

Specialized in making explosives from the limited raw materials that were available to him under occupation, he pioneered martyrdom operations, facilitated and refined the art of bombing attacks, and developed innovative techniques to resist the occupation. He was also the leader of the West Bank battalion of Al-Qassam Brigades.

He received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering in 1991 from Birzeit University, and then entered Qassam’s ranks in 1992.

Ayyash trained as many engineers as possible while he was still alive, birthing a legacy and approach to resistance that would never be forgotten.

His ingenious resistance operations in the occupied territories were responsible for the deaths of countless Israeli settlers, which shook the enemy – consequently, he quickly became Israel’s most wanted man.

Following failure after failure by Israel, his assassination was only possible with the help of collaborators who had turned against him. The Palestinian Authority also cooperated with the Shin Bet to hunt him down.

To avenge his assassination, the resistance carried out a series of lethal operations known as the ‘Sacred Revenge' which led to the deaths of at least 46 settlers.

In 2021, Al-Qassam Brigades unveiled its rocket with the longest range yet – the ‘Ayyash’ rocket.

Kecil ini salah satu bagian dari bunga #ajisai. Bunga-bunga kecil yang bersama membentuk keindahan dan kekuatan. Saya coba hubungkan bunga kecil ini dengan kisah Paman Khaled yang kita sayang. Beliau bukan Perdana Menteri yg rela meletakkan jabatannya untuk perdamaian seperti Ismail Haniyah, bukan Dead Man Walking seperti Yahya Sinwar, bukan pula insinyur perang jenius seperti Muhammed Deif sang kucing dengan sembilan nyawa atau Yahya Ayyash sang pria seribu wajah.

seorang tua yang kita kenali justru karena bagaimana ia bersikap ketika cucunya wafat pada gnsd th lalu. Caranya bertutur, caranya bergaul dengan anak, lansia, bahkan kucing.

bisa jadi sosok sepertinya kita temukan di dekat rumah sebagai ketua RT, di perjalanan sebagai bapak-bapak yang kita tanyakan alamat, di kantor sebagai pekerja yang membantu memudahkan urusan harian kita.

satu dari puluhan ribu nyawa syahid di Plstn yg membuka mata kita, puluhan ribu yang juga punya mimpi seperti kita, bukan sekedar angka.

Paman Khaled "sangat biasa saja",

senyum menjadi hiasan wajahnya dalam keseharian hingga ia tiada, hidup di tengah-tengah membaur dengan yang lain, tidak perlu penghormatan karena jabatan dan harta, bajunya rapi, demikian juga perkataannya, mematahkan stigma yang buruk tentang penampilan berjanggut dan bersorban seorang muslim yang dibentuk bertahun-tahun oleh barat.

karena Beliau lah representasi Islam sesungguhnya, yang aplikatif dapat ditiru oleh siapapun, semoga kita termasuk di dalamnya, bukan buih-buih di lautan yang ramai namun tidak berharga.

Ruh yang saling mengenal, kelak akan berkumpul. Kenalilah orang baik, agar Allaah ridha mengumpulkan kita kelak bersamanya.

🔻OCCUPIED INTERIOR (RNN) — Two gunmen carried out a resistance shooting operation in the "Neot HaKikar" settlement, located south of the Dead Sea, after infiltrating from the Jordanian border, resulting in injuries to at least two occupation soldiers. The heroes of the Dead Sea operation, (https://t.me/PalestineResist/63216) who crossed from Jordan, are martyrs Husam Abu Ghazaleh and Amer Qawas. At least two IOF soldiers were wounded in the operation following their infiltration from Jordan, and their subsequent ascension in an armed clash.
