y'all i'm getting emotional about iggy and junior's dynamic with one another.

like, there's one night where junior's nightlight goes out, and he's at that age where he's not gonna sleep well or at all if it's in the dark, so they need a new one. only problem is that it'll take a week to get the darklands if they buy it.

iggy proceeds to go missing for the entire day. he doesn't show up at meals or for any meetings, and while he's been known to vanish when he's deep in a project, it's still a little worrying. he's finally spotted sneaking out of junior's room at night by bowser, coming to read him his bedtime story.

junior, to his surprise, is already asleep.

the little carved box placed on his nightstand -- holding a mechanical fire flower, casting patterns of soft light around the room -- hums unobtrusively next to him.

do you have any advice for people that want to start drawing monsters/abominations? Your designs are super inspiring to me but im super intimidated ive ever only drawn cute things before asdgasf

god anon i really wish i had any better advice than take the thing you want to hit with the eldritchification beam and slap more jaws/eyes/teeth on it until it works... its honestly kinda what ive been doing..

its a lot of experimentation and looking for inspiration! break down and examine what you like about it, see what you can use and then put it back together or integrate them into something else. it also depends what kind of horror you want to inflict on your test subject

ive had a massive fascination with anatomy and machines since childhood. a lot of my inspiration comes from the alien franchise and works by hr giger. i really love that specific brand of body horror, that perfect blend of biology with machinery. also uhh,, bayverse transformers BUT ONLY FOR THE DESIGNS. controversial take but i just really like the way they tackled their anatomy, esp whats visible between/below the outer car parts. its the tiny details.. and later on warframe! sleek biomechs that are more bio than mech but have a lot of fantastic diverse designs! huge fan!

but yeah, you like... gotta find your brand of monster designs, dissect it and study it under a microscope
