Why is Jace such an ass to her in AGC? She didn’t do anything wrong

Also when did he fall in love with her exactly? I know they had crushes on each other as kids but when she comes back, he seems to hate her and he seems to only be sexually attracted to her. But in part 2, he says she will make a wonderful wife to whoever she marries and he will be jealous of her future husband and wish he was him for the rest of his life.

Thinking about the beginning of Nancy's interaction with Nine, and how Nine is so excited to talk but immediately hits the breaks when met with "Who is this?" and "How did you get this number? Who gave you this number?"

Her reacting this way makes a lot more sense when we almost immediately learn that people will tap phone lines to track down players and the ball. Sportsmanship is still so nebulous both on whether people will respect it and what it actually is from person to person.

But also, her reaction of "What the hell are you?". Not "What are you?", not anything more polite or anything in recognition of Ten herself, but an accusatory question. An aire of hostility over the unknown. It makes me wonder if sometimes these football games lead to paranoia. Maybe even how fragile people's mental states are, playing football this long. Playing games this long.

Also endeared (and relating severely to) Nine's response to "Well they call me Nine." "How did you get this number? Who gave yky this number?" "Um. Ten gave me the number Nine. Do you know Ten?" and Nine just completely missing that Nancy's referring to her phone number, not Nine's name itself.
