There’s nothing funnier than websites offering recommendations that are completely off base.
I’m searching for prices on Young Justice 2019 volume 3.
Website: we don’t have that but can I offer you RHATO?
Me: …uh no. Thanks anyway.
(Still less funny than the LITERAL FREE COPY of The Culling: Rise of the Ravagers a comic shop threw in an order of YJ 1998 books for me, presumably as they were otherwise putting it in the bin, but up there)
#collect all the trades#I have to believe that free book was someone trying to get rid of excess dead stock#because I cannot believe anyone working at an LCS saw an order for YJ 1998 and thought#‘this person clearly wants a Lobdell nu!52 Teen Titans spinoffS’

I have no life despite the shit I should be doing in college
anyway, here my updated outline idea of what the next Batman show should be like because dear god we need more Robin exposure
If we get Dick again he is getting one season of a Batman show and replaced by Jason with a time jump and both are in the panties
Like, Dick in the ending years as Robin and the season finale ending with him leaving because of similar reasons tied to the final battle of the season, jump to Jason’s origin and Nightwing established in a return episode after a few of Batman being kinda cagey about the bird that flew the coop
Jason dies at a mid-season event with a rigged online poll (I remember one of those recently on what power a newly born Super kid in a show I used to watch would get. They got teleportation, wasn’t rigged tho last I checked) to replay that age old pain to new fans and give old ones a fun “I know something you don’t~” feeling to be evil
Tim comes after the remaining episodes of Bruce being a mess until the season finale makes him Robin. He gets a season or two as Robin until the next one starts with Damian’s introduction, but there’s episodes throughout each season that have Ra’s or Talia to establish their complicated relationship and hint at some tragedy in their past (Backstory of Talia faking losing Damian to have her and Bruce previously married but characterize Talia as protecting her son over anything else)
Plus a brief few episodes of Tim quitting in those 2 seasons with Steph as robin and then quickly ‘dead’
And in line with Tim having his own Robin Solos he gets a spinoff that is basically YJ put to the television properly (Pointed look at Young Justice Tv Show) so that we get to see the downward spiral that is his life up to and including Kon dying at the second to last seasons Mid-Season special with hints in this show and the Btaman one that Tim is Not Taking It Well.
Cue that after-credit shot in one episode showing him working on that whole cloning spiral
Also cue that last season being after Damians into and having Kon come back at some point so both tie into the whole “Bruce is alive” moment after the Batman show has people thinking “Tim, you need help please let us get you some.” and his show being just… the mess he’s in during that time until they get Bruce back and then it’s Happy Batfam and the end of both shows
#haha. The ADHD is so obvious in hindsight...#batman#dick grayson#jason todd#tim drake#damian wayne#dc#batfamily#show idea

story asks for Young Justice: 5, 8, 19?
5. do you have a favorite character? who?
I have multiple favorites. I can't pick just one, since they're all fascinating for different reasons.
8. what questions are or were you most excited to learn the answers to while experiencing the story for the first time?
Secret's backstory was the biggest mystery!
19. pitch an idea for a sequel or spinoff novel for this story!
I'd like a story that focuses on Greta's having to learn to adjust to her second chance at life, without her powers, and how she rebuilds her relationships with her former teammates, and how she deals with half her family being dead and her mother being mentally ill, and who is responsible for her now, and just what happens to her.
Someone I don't know posted an idea for a YJ sequel that's like Titans 1999--with the original members of a team of teenagers re-forming their group as young adults and mentoring a new generation of young heroes, and I love that idea and wish it would happen. Excellent way to reintroduce Joshua Terrill to canon.
#asks#brown-little-robin#thank you!#random personal stuff#just imagine the original YJ cast mentoring say...Damian Jon the West twins Traya Lian Joshua Anita's parents and [somebody for Greta]

About Me (aka: JIG32 Intro)!
I’ve been wanting to add this to my pinned for a while, so here it is! It is broken up into 3 Sections for you all to get to know me better: General ( the basic info about me), Blog Stuff (what you will see on my blog, my f/o and s/i list), My Favorite Things (some of my favorite things: shows, movies, animals, etc!).
Feel free to ask me/speak to me about anything you read here! I may be slow answering asks/interacting, but I love interacting with my mutuals!
Please see below cut! Tw for moving gifs and trauma mention!
General
💜 27 year old female.
💜 Libra! B-day: October 4th.
💜 Christian.
💜 Demisexual.
💜 College Graduate! Associate’s in General Studies and Bachelor’s of Science in History.
💜 Educator of littles by day (kindergarten whooo), and fangirl of villains and other misunderstood characters by night / when I’ve got a break from work.
💜 I love to spend time with my loved ones, sing, listen to music, obsess over my favorite characters and media, write, decorate, spend time in nature, and organize items!
💜 Cat mom to 4 cats (one boy and 3 girls).
💜 Mommy to an angel baby, Alexandria Rinella Varmitech 👼
💜 I’ve gone through a lot of trauma and hardship in my life, but my faith, my loved ones, and my favorite characters and media have helped me through it all! So this blog is like a love letter to all of that!
Blog Stuff
💜 I’m a fanfic author and wishful artist (I’m not very skilled at either, but I try).
💜 Hugeeee Fan of Zach Varmitech, Arthur Fleck, any version of the Joker, Kevin Wendell Crumb, Loki, Oswald Cobblepot, Cedric the Sorcerer, The Grinch (2018 version my beloved), and Klarion the Witch Boy. My blog content is centered around these characters.
💜 Self shipper! You will see A LOT of self shipping stuff on this blog. My main romantic f/o is Zach Varmitech from Wild Kratts. My self insert is Violet Virginia Varmitech nèe Tyler! I’m iffy sharing Zach, but if you respect me, and Zach and Violet, (show us no hatred), I am fine sharing him!
💜My secondary romantic f/o is the Grinch from the 2018 Illumination Grinch movie. My self insert is Aurora Borealis Who! I am completely fine sharing Grinch!
💜 I selfship platonically with Gaston Gourmand from Wild Kratts, but he’s also a bit of a crush/potential romantic f/o. I ship Gourmand with Zach as well, so I consider Zach, Gourmand, and Violet to have something of a poly relationship. I am okay sharing Gourmand!
💜 Veneer from Trolls 3 is a platonic/familial f/o of mine. He’s like my supportive best friend and brother!
💜 I also selfship romantically with Arthur Fleck, Young Justice Joker, and Loki. My s/i for Arthur and YJ Joker is Clarissa Wane. I haven’t figured out a s/i for Loki yet, but I’m thinking she’ll be called Scarlett. These are more “former relationships” of mine, but I still love each of these characters dearly, and I’m completely fine sharing them!
💜 The specific content you will find on this blog will include: Zach Varmitech Gushing, Wild Kratts content, Ziolet (Zach and Violet) posts, fanfic and au posts, posts about any of my other favorite characters/media, quotes I relate to/ I am inspired by, funny memes, funny/cute animal/nature posts, and fall/holiday stuff (Halloween and Christmas countdowns, etc.).
💜 Ask box/requests are always open, see my pinned post for more info, but I may be slow responding to asks/requests!
These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things…
💜 Favorite shows: Wild Kratts, A Haunting, Green Acres, Gilligan’s Island, Sofia the First, Young Justice, Gotham, 90 Day Fiancé (and any/all spinoffs), The Waltons, Little House On The Prairie, Andi Mack.

We're coming into the end of the year and what are your thoughts on the chances of YJ returning? Also the chaos at WB?
Ooph honestly it's so up in the air. Anything could happen, really. The chaos at WB is gross, so many things cancelled or fates yet unknown. I think for YJ, it's not a closed book as in, "it's definitely canceled". I think that there's a lukewarm chance in that it could end up being renewed on some capacity. Whether that be a S5, a spinoff, more comics, who the heck knows.

Salty Ask Meme: #1, #3, #20 and #31?
ok finishing those hater asks late
1.How has DC/Marvel/publishing company wronged you, specifically? everytime orion shows up in a comic its a crime. against me. but also like EVERY comic they announce sounds so bad these days. ok personal attacks against me RECENTLY
cancelling ram v's the swamp thing (so so good)
cancelling future state gotham (THE COMIC SUCKED. BUT i stand by red bat hunter and there are so many batman titles just leave this one!! for me.)
rebooting batman inc FINALLY but destroying the characters giving them all 1 skintone and introducing 400 new characters in the first 2 issues instead of just. DC PUBLISH NIGHTRUNNER: LOVE IN PARIS OR ELSE
khalid's future scares me w JSA and then batman w the fate helmet... also i have to be honest i hate his costume. its really bad. hoodie and jeans were somehow better
get constantine away from the JL and the superheroes! you have zatanna and dr fate!!!!!
dc v vampires and DKofsteel being 3984032432 chapters long w spinoffs and ONE jurassic league comic (jurassic league still deals w a trope i dont like (jl vs darkseid) but i will accept it bc the comic is so silly)
employing the toms
whatever piss shit black label is i hate to be "edgy" but its lacking the like.. grostesque and wild of it all. black label could never do face or kid eternity etc
so many more things im sure if i thought harder
3. Who is your most hated comics writer? ok if it wasnt obvious. TK. caus frankly i think "ex-CIA" is a valid reason alone to dislike him but on top of it i do think the misogyny racism xenophobia is unavoidable in his comics and while i hear "but he works w the best artists!' a lot frankly i dont think any of the artists he's worked with really did particularly memorable work on the interiors except bilquis evely tbh. and like that shit was a book there was so much text i barely had time to look at the art!!!!! frankly also someone told me they think he only watches the cartoons and as time goes on i start to believe that more
20. What’s the worst superhero team? I HATE THE JSA!!!!! and inf inc. nostalgia circlejerk for the good ol days with a ridiculously large cast that doesnt have any reason being on screen together outside of a "BUT WE'RE FAMILYYYYYY"x1000. w inyfinity inc the like smugness of "HEH we're the REAL heroes becuase our parents were heroes" in the appearances of them ive read just annoyed me
31. What’s the worst animated/live action adaptation you’ve seen? YJ for sureeeeee the misogyny racism ableism and absolutely the worst version of every character it adapts. and since it spans such a large amount of the dc universe which SHOULD be awesome for a cartoon but it manages to fuck it up every single way. dogshit art. dogshit designs (ok i remember not minding metron + FP's but every other design in the show PUKE). dogshit characterization. "its a reimagining-" and its a bad one

yeah, those two aren't the same people. i do like the hair better on the new comic though. i feel like the light skin kind of makes it to where you can't tell where damian came from and i think that's really important. and he does look just like jon, now that you say that. it feels like they just mapped damian onto a white boy.
now, do i have any of these comics? no, im broke and in an area where they dont really sell comics to a lot of places. so, take my opinions with a grain of salt. but i can still critique a design.
i asked my friend, who is a fan of batman, who it was. she said tim. and i see it.
there was my friend's reaction to the answer if you were curious.
it's just that i think it's kind of weird that a webtoon spinoff made damian look more damian than the mainline comics
and i mean, there's a greater issue, that when they were kids, damian, tim, and dick looked the same.
like... just imagine if i switched their haircuts.
nobody would know the difference. (these are all from yj)
the point is, they all need a little variation anyway.
and having damian drawn so much lighter and removing little details is getting rid of variety, and it's getting rid of his ethnicity and his heritage. it's important for him to keep features that relate to his heritage because part of the drama of his character is the fact that he grew up with talia and ra's!
so, that's my thoughts on it.
Does anyone else not like the way Damian is drawn in the new Batman and Robin comic ????
Like, after his solo Robin series, I just cannot look at him like that. He looks almost exactly like Jon.
Where is his tan skin ??? His green eyes ??? HIS HOOKED NOSE ???? They took away everything that made his design cool and interesting and new and pretty and also just like a huge part of his ethnicity.
It just bothers me so much like I want to read the comic bc it does seem pretty interesting but Damian’s design is making it soooooo hard. It extra sucks bc the art style is amazing. I actually love the way Bruce is drawn and also White Rabbit is super cool. Damian is just throwing me off so hard like that’s literally not him that’s Tim or Jon or Dick but that isn’t Damian Wayne/AL GHUL like tf look at this
He’s pretty yah, whatever, now look at this:
THESE ARE NOT EVEN THE SAME FUCKING PEOPLE ???? It’s not even a difference in art style bc there was plenty of variations in art style in the Robin series but he still had his main features I mentioned earlier.
Idk call me a nitpicker or smth but this bothers me so much if it doesn’t change at some point I don’t think I will be able to read the new Batman and Robin series.

I know most people are generally more likely to be invested in movies and TV and all that and so my Batfandom experience may be different than everyone else's, but I'm enough of a traditional comics nerd to be like what do you mean you don't read the comics and, yeah, I instinctively consider them more canon than other media most of the time (except when I don't). but here's a breakdown of my familiarity with the Batfandom:
at any given time I'm reading a significant chunk of current Batfamily comics (and also other comics, but some of those feature Batfamily members, too)
I'm also reading or rereading older Batfamily content, going back as far as I can find them (I'm currently reading pre-crisis Jason, but I'm desperately trying to find a digital copy of Van's issue)
I saw Battinson but I disliked it immensely and will not be seeing a sequel if one comes out
between that and the real movies (Batman 89) I haven't seen any of the movies. or, like, I think I saw more than one but I don't remember them at all, and I know I hated whichever one I saw. this is a feat because I will watch anything with Cillian Murphy in it and usually love it even when it's a trash fire. I saw (only) one of the Harley Quinn movies and it was okay.
Batman 89 are The Movies Of All Time and I rewatch them constantly, especially Batnipples. they are responsible for both my love of fandom in its entirety and my gay awakening. and obviously it's where I started with Batman
I mean I saw Superpets, which was excellent except for the monologue at the end which still pisses me off
I've read novelizations based on them, and spent my childhood rereading them over and over. I've also read other print novels but don't ask me which ones because I can't remember. yeah there are a bunch of Batman print novels actually! I don't know either!
I watched BtAS, Batman Beyond, and Teen Titans on the air. I rewatch them regularly. I recently watched through at least one JLA show (didn't care for it/them) and am trying to make it through Brave and the Bold but I don't really like it. I managed to get all the way through YJ on the promise of Virg but he's only in like three episodes??? season 1 was great but the rest of the show increasingly sucks. the vast majority of the cartoons I've never seen, especially all the movies
obsessively watching Harley Quinn show. it's the best thing I've ever seen. oddly, the comics based on it are one of the few comics I've ever returned because I feel bad returning comics usually
I saw all of HBO Titans, most of it as it was released, and I love it so so much. I wish it hadn't ended. I wish the Red Hood spinoff had actually gotten traction because I would watch the hell out of it. I hoped the CW show would have similar vibes but it's not very good really. I'm still watching it.
my absolute favorite DC shows are Birds of Prey (2002-2003) and Powerless. both cancelled immediately, which is a travesty. they are the best shows that have ever been made ever.
I'm not listening to the radio plays or podcasts or whatever. I can't really deal with that type of media mostly unfortunately
I have seen The LEGO Movie and all related LEGO Batman content. I love most of it but Damian??? that is clearly Tim wtf are you guys even talking about, you wrote Tim
I've seen the Adam West movie repeatedly. I've seen several episodes of the show but not in order and not the whole thing. I do plan a watchthrough soon.
I've never played a single Batman related game in my life, not even Batman branded Monopoly and stuff like that. I don't know what's in any of them and I don't understand references to them
anyway, so, I get that for normal people the movies are most likely, then the cartoons, then the live action shows, then the comics, but for me it's very much backwards of that. and it's weird to me when people assume that everyone's engaging with the same pieces of media in the same way
