So this post might be weird since I'm not even leaving this blog lol but I feel like I have to make this post before the fandom eventually starts to drift away and no one reads it.

When I first made this blog I never once expected it to become as big as it did. I never expected myself to be an actual presence in the fandom and I definitely didn't expect to have as many people interested in what I had to say or send me questions every day looking for my opinion on well... anything.

The reason this blog exists is because I got bummed out seeing no content anywhere for the final season (this was a while after the game was announced) and because I fell in love with Louis's character concept art and description and wanted somewhere to express my excitement and theories regarding him and the other characters.

I also began shipping Louis and Clem at the time because of my over analysing of his character description and was like, "these two would be great together" but at the same time, I totally thought it was a crack ship and that I would be the only one really shipping it, so I built my blog around it (named it "Louisentine" since it didn't have a ship name back then) as a kinda-joke and never FOR A SECOND did I expect people to actually acknowledge it - definitely didn't fucking expect the ship to be canon either at the time, so LOL.

But even when I first started off the blog I got so anxious. So much so that I was honestly this goddamn close to just deleting the blog before we even got the damn teaser trailer for the game.

I never tried running a fan blog before, and I was really scared of getting flamed or receiving hate for the slightest thing since that seems to be quite common in fandoms. I also didn't really have much confidence in myself either and I would always doubt everything I did and would get paranoid if I messed up and would get judged for it (yay for social anxiety).

But then people began noticing me and I started getting Asks and It caught me off guard because I was like, "wtf so this is what it's like to have messages in your Tumblr inbox...huh, that's new." So I began feeling slowly confident about what I was doing and decided "fuck it" and began posting theories and stuff that I otherwise would have never shared with anyone before.

Eventually I started to realize things about myself that I never knew before, like holy fuck I'm actually kinda good at something. And it was SO WEIRD. Because I'm never usually good at things. Especially things that involve interacting with people.

It was so surreal that I don't even know how to convey to you through text how weird it felt. Like people often say that good things come when you least expect it, but I never expected myself to run a blog on Tumblr and actually succeed with it.

I felt like I finally had found somewhere I could just be myself and a place where I belonged (basically I had a "final season Clem" story arc going on here lmao). And for a rare instance in my life I truly felt happy with something. And it's all because of you guys.

I often get messages from people saying that they like my blog or that I've helped them in some way, but I don't think people understand how much they have helped me as well.

It sounds silly given that I just run a fan blog on Tumblr. But I truly feel like I've improved as a person since starting this blog and I couldn't have done it without any of you.

I've made friends - met SO many different kinds of interesting people, became a little more confident in my own abilities, I've discovered things about myself I never knew before, and I developed a passion in something that I didn't expect.

So before I keep on blathering on and on, and you all start to falling asleep - I'm just going to end with:

Thank you all for supporting me and this blog for as long as you have.

It's arguably the best decision I've ever made in my life and I will never forget any of you.

(I'm still not leaving, but I just wanted to say that line above because it's true).

Pokémon SoulSilver Randomized Nuzlocke [Part 1]

Since I haven’t fully learned from my mistakes, hey! It’s time for another Nuzlocke. With extra Randomizer action for reasons that are going to be very apparent as I go through this set’s rules.

I’m going to try what this person on the internet calls a Chainlocke, though with slight alterations for the sake of sanity; basic idea is that my catch Types have to be linked. If I catch a Grass/Poison pokemon, my next option has to have one of those in common.

That gets thorny really fast, which I guess is the point, but I’m more about wacky fun than serious challenges. So to make things more entertaining, I will be randomizing every pokemon in the wild, as well as NPC gifts and trades. All the other Trainers keep their original stuff. I get to be special.

So. Rules:

Only the first viable pokemon of each route may be caught.

Gift pokemon are cool to use.

In-game trades are also cool.

‘Viable’ in this case means that they must have a Type in common with the most recent caught pokemon.

The starter will be starting that chain despite not technically being caught by me. Because I feel like it.

Each pokemon must receive a nickname.

If a pokemon faints, it is considered dead. It will go in an appropriately named box in the PC.

In the event of a team wipe, the run will continue with whatever’s left (alive) in the PC.

And that’s about it. Let’s kick it.

I can’t remember if this version does the all-caps for names or not. In any case, this protagonist avatar will take on the name Sunny. Because I am in a warm and welcoming mood, ready to make all the new creatures I encounter my friends.

I haven’t worked out any particular theme for this run. I can name her whatever I want. I think I shall call her Chance.

Look at how cute she is. She is adorable. Sassy and highly persistent. I declare her perfect. She also knows Headbutt! That matters beyond being a cool move in this version! Much squeeing! She also knows Growl, Signal Beam, and Icy Wind.

My next pokemon will have to be Water or Ice. It will probably be Water, thanks to Water being absurdly common. That’s cool. I like Water pokemon.

And so, without yet being able to catch anything, I head out into the world. Running my obligatory fetch quest for Professor Elm.

Huh, a Smoochum says hello. That’s a good thing to know for later. But what’s in the Headbutt tree?

I love how Silver’s most defining feature is his red hair.

After a short visit home to tell our mom we are far too irresponsible to be trusted with all of the money we’re going to earn from mugging other children, plus a short tutorial on catching things, we can finally get started!

Smoochum is the only thing available in the routes we’ve visited so far, but I haven’t checked out the northern one right outside the starting town yet.

But the walking takes the decision out of my hands! We encounter a level 4 Smoochum, and as per the rules, that is what I have to go for. Lest I kill the route.

I guess that answers my question about its Typing. Ruh roh. Signal Beam was a mistake. For multiple reasons, now that I’m taking a second to think about it. Whoops. Any game that requires me to think is screwed from the start, honestly.

So now we search for something else to catch.

In theory. It’s broken out of two pokeballs. It’s also level 2, so I don’t think I can risk attacking it.

One of those problems I can fix. As for the other, inb4 the Mystery Egg and whatever I get from Bill are the only other teammates Chance ever has.

We march through the trainers between us and the next town. Certain of nothing but Chance’s ability to murder them all.

Route 31 has an Elekid as the first thing I see and the rules say I can’t catch it. What horrible person came up with this. Seviper and Lopunny are also here. Those I care less about.

Dark Cave? Help? Mayhaps?

Before we think too hard on that, I’ve gotta say that I do love how gen 4 does the caves. They are very gorgeously cavernous, and the few times I bother to think about the background art, I enjoy walking through them.

These are things that do not help me.

The person who usually gives you an Onix for a Bellsprout in whatever this city is (Violet) offers a Corphish for a Kecleon. Things to keep in mind if I ever find a Kecleon. That I can catch.

In no version of this game have I ever done this egg thing. I was unaware there even was an egg thing, since anything that requires me to pick the right word out of the hat of words bores me to tears. Then I started watching too many people play Pokemon games on the internet.

So normally, you can get a Mareep, Wooper, or Slugma. In the spirit of the Chainlocke, even though I said gifts were cool, we’ll take the Wooper egg. Vote now on whether or not it’ll actually be a Wooper. I don’t know how to use the Randomizer.

Flash obtained with little fuss, and time to move on to Falkner. He of the coolest name. Yet another Gym Leader I wanted to be as a child. Even if he uses nothing but birds. Falkner is just the coolest name.

Oh, and it looks like there’s also Roselia in this tower.

I can’t do anything about it, but that’s nice.

I love how each generation of pokemon decides the Gyms need to be more extra.

-five seconds later- Well that went by quickly. Good girl, Chance. Your murder spree continues. And our prize? Picking up the Mystery Egg! Which gets to be a genuine mystery for now! Chance! You might have a friend! In pure spite of your best efforts!

Time to spend an hour doing nothing but walking. I normally wouldn’t be so interested in hatching the eggs, but. I would kind of like to have a promise of Chance not being completely alone this entire game.

One down! His name is Cloud! He is... also Sassy (Chance, is this why you let him stay), level 1, and alert to sounds!

I might change my mind after a few more routes of things not going well for me, but for now, I think I’ll mostly stick to me and Chance.

They’re both level 1. I can be nice and not set them up for death. They can make it to level 5 before we say a cordial farewell. I can grind in this game. I can be nice.

canon compliant answer: purple, but became dark maroon after being stained by constant blood and grime.

personal hc answer: every color, including various styles (bows, bandanas, harnesses, etc) due to having collected an impressive array from the strays and dogs he has defeated. he needs the substantial amount due to having a near constant stream of various claw and fang offerings from his warriors and past victories. he’ll award these collars to cats as medals and it’s an extremely high honor, one of the highest a bloodclanner can receive.

Introduce yourself Hi hi! I go by Silhouette on the internet but most people call me Gab! I am a highschool student from Central Europe with interest in pursuing art in the future. I am mainly into animanga, with Boku no Hero Academia and Edens Zero being my main two fandoms. Aside from that, I also keep up to date with multiple western shows! I started really drawing in middle school when I started playing an online game which allowed you to upload your own art and get in-game currency. That’s also the time I got into digital art, which stayed with me up now! Do you use any traditional mediums? If so, which are your favorites? I like drawing with gray pencils (mainly B3 - B6), Indian ink and my absolute favorite and the one I get to use the least, soft pastel. Fun fact: to make up for my lack of soft pastel in real life, I use soft pastel-like brushes in digital

I live in a big, old city, so it is usually filled with road signs, ads, run down buildings and generally gray/shades of gray so I take a lot of photos when I find a pretty (lot of greenery, pretty modern buildings or even modern residential areas, etc.) scenery around the city and I tend to flip through the photos an often it inspires me to draw something. When it turns out to be fanart, it’s usually because I interacted with the fandom recently. Then music usually shapes the details/what are the characters doing. I’ll use a wip as an example: a pretty photo of a modern residential area, my recent interaction with Edens Zero and me constantly listening to Bang Bang by Hollywood Undead turned into Rebecca from Edens Zero fighting in a dystopian -ish city (guns are her weapon of choice in the manga so that’s where she cane from)

Either Yumoto was hoping his senpais would teach him how to be popular with the ladies, or he’s just confused as to what in the hell it is that older boys want. This entire scene is just a clusterfuck of innuendo BUT I’M GONNA OVER ANALYZE IT ANYWAY.

The surface meaning of En and Atsushi’s statements here- or what the audience is supposed to get- is that being popular with girls will only get you so far. It may get you ‘love’ but having a girlfriend means jack squat if you don’t have guy friends (most likely to brag to). 

It also could be taken that En at least would rather appreciate women than exert his energy into making them lust after him, which is rather sweet if you think about it.

Atsushi’s point also draws attention to the fact that stereotypical displays of machismo are much more well-received by other men than women- ie outward displays of strength, aggression, bragging about sexual encounters... er- yeah. No need to go on, there.

So. In order to be a well-rounded man, a man needs to be popular/be admired by other men! So you aren’t a lonely loser the rest of your days.

Buuut... because I’m me... LET’S LOOK AT THE SUBTEXT IN RELATIONSHIP TO THEIR SPECULATED SEXUALITIES 8D

En basically says straight up it’s more beneficial to be admired by men. Putting aside the above statements about admiring women... En’s likely gay. Fosho.

And the top screencap of Yumoto, instead of just clarifying his senpai’s intentions, that could mean that he’s more interested in girls. HOWEVER-

With a c: face, Yumoto admits his heart flutters watching rugged young men!

Bi Yumoto anyone? (He also unironically uses the word ‘flicks’ but that’s either a translator thing or another example of a mysterious dialect but ON TOPIC-)

At least within the context of this scene, Yumoto implies he’d be interested in being popular with girls and he is attracted to at very least a certain type of man. Buuut the rest of this episode (which I will get to later) potentially directly contradicts this implication as to Yumoto’s romantic and/or otherwise attraction.

It’s too bad that we don’t get Ryuu or Atsushi’s opinions on the matter- although Ryuu makes his attractions pretty clear just from his character (and then the subtext with Io). Atsushi is a bit of a mystery, for now. 

As for Io, we get this  exchange-

And here is where Yumoto contradicts his earlier implications. Okay. 1) Writers make up your minds, although 2) ...shades of gray here.

Perhaps Kurotori’s feather spell represents sexual love (Eros for all you YOI fans~) and Yumoto is either a) too young/innocent to understand or b) somewhere on the ace spectrum. The others were affected because they are either simply older than Yumoto/past puberty or allosexual to the point where the spell could manipulate their feelings despite their existing attractions whatever those may be.

Yumoto’s earlier comments, then, could be taken to mean simply romantic attraction, even though his wording of his “heart fluttering” thanks to Yakuza men is a bit misleading in that respect. (Disclaimer: I am not on the ace spectrum so perhaps I am misrepresenting/misinterpreting here- please correct me if I have made a mistake in my understanding of asexuality- I definitely do not want to offend anyone! Just analyzing~) 

Though to play the other side, En’s comment about marriage, even though he’s under the influence of a spell, also indicates that the spell has romantic components as well as potentially sexual ones. If the spell plays to BOTH- wouldn’t Yumoto be affected as well, based on his earlier assertions?

OR PERHAPS- if it is both, Yumoto is ALSO potentially aromantic and his comments were purely of an aesthetic nature or self projection (that is, he wants to be a dashing Yakuza heartthrob, not necessarily date one). Or he was simply trying to relate to his senpais and was bluffing the entire time.

Damn, this episode can seem REALLY deep if you squint hard enough. Headcanons, abound!

Moving on- WHEN IN DOUBT, HUG THE ENEMY!

Now I’m starting to see some cleverness on the part of the writers- hear me out below- but first- MORE CUDDLES

With this, Yumoto can be read several different ways. 

On the surface and probably most importantly, regardless of what Yumoto’s personal attraction/orientation is (if he’s even figured it out at this point), he knows love at its purest form. He loves his brother. He loves his senpais (even though at this point they barely know each other- Yumoto probably latches on quickly). But more importantly, he is so in tune with his own feelings he realizes that self love is at the core of any type of love. That if you aren’t secure in yourself, if you don’t care about yourself on some level, how can anyone else care about you either?

This is another reason why I love Yumoto even though he can get a bit heavy-handed at times and seem like a one-note character; HE ISN’T.

Yumoto is incredibly introspective and even though his senapis make comments about how he just kind of shoves everything together to fit the situation he really does understand the monster-ified characters’ insecurities.

(Which can lead to some sad headcanons about how Yumoto has probably felt all of these things at one point or another... oh no...)

But back to my over-analysis of Yumoto’s orientation- with this... it’s really up to interpretation.

He can be read as a young character who hasn’t figured things out yet, he can be read as interested in romantic relationships of any variety but not necessarily anything else, he can be read as only interested in platonic relationships- anything. And while the inconsistency in his portrayal can be a bit maddening- it’s GREAT headcanon opportunity.

Thus, unless s3 gives Yumoto a canon interest- he’s whatever you think he is. Which is AWESOME! DO YOU SEE WHY I LOVE THIS SMOL CINNAMON ROLL?

Aaaand some closing, not very deep thoughts to wrap up-
