The Noble Rarely Appear
Xuefeng
(Translation edited by Jiejing)
There were three strange encounters that made me realize: the noble do not easily reveal themselves.
The first one was in March 1994, in the Qiaoqiaole area of Matabeland North Province in Zimbabwe. It was a quiet day, and I was driving my pickup truck along an abandoned path, venturing deeper into the jungle. As I reached a small hill, I turned off the engine and was about to get out when I suddenly saw a white deer on the hill. It turned its head and looked at me for just a few seconds before swiftly disappearing into the forest. I quickly got out of the car and chased after it, looking left and right, but I couldn't catch a glimpse of it again.
I had asked the local villagers if there were any white deer in the area, and they replied, "Never seen one."
I also asked many colleagues if they had ever seen a white deer, and they responded, "Nonsense! There are no white deer!"
The second time was in August 1995, but the specific location is now a fuzzy memory. We were drilling a well by a lush riverbank. It was a cold day when suddenly three cranes descended from the sky. Their bodies were gray, with long necks that turned white at the head, topped with red crowns. Their claws were also red. There were two larger cranes and one smaller crane. They landed about 30 meters away from us. I had seen this type of crane before in 1964 when I was herding sheep near the Yellow River. According to the elders, it is rare to encounter these cranes, and those who do are believed to have good luck and are likely to prosper financially. (I have now seen five of them but still haven't struck it rich.)
At that time, there were two Zimbabwean people who witnessed these three cranes with me. I asked them, "Do you often see this type of crane?" They replied, "This is actually the first time we've seen this kind of crane."
The third time was on a day in February 2003. The location was my residence at 46 Pendennis Road, Mount Pleasant, Harare. It was around six o'clock in the morning. Having lived in Harare for nearly eight years, I often observed birds in the early morning. I visited two bird parks and had seen dozens of bird species. However, what excited me was that particular morning when I encountered a peculiar bird. It was slightly larger than a sparrow, with a green head, black body, and a red tail. What stood out the most was its tail, which was vividly red and measured approximately 25 centimeters in length. It perched among the treetops for only about ten seconds before flying away.
The white deer, cranes, and exotic bird, what do they signify? They signify that the noble do not easily reveal themselves.
This leads me to think of the Emperor of Japan, who seldom appears in public because of their nobility. Diamonds are hard to find because they are precious. Reclusive hermits in the mountains do not easily emerge because of their nobility. Some households keep their extraordinary treasures hidden from the market because of their value.
This leads me to the realization that anything that is esteemed, rare, and of infinite value is not easily found.
This leads me to ponder, how many rare and precious things are yet undiscovered in this universe, in this world? How many wise and enlightened sages and immortals are hidden, like dragons and tigers lying in wait? Truly, the mysteries are boundless!
"Wise ministers choose their lord, while virtuous birds select their tree for perching." Tigers do not descend upon plains, and horses do not venture deep into mountains. "The phoenix does not land in a place devoid of treasures," and immortals do not associate with ordinary people. "Blinded by a single leaf, one cannot see Mount Tai," and without destiny, it is difficult for a person to encounter extraordinary experiences.
Indeed, the noble do not easily reveal themselves, and those who readily display themselves are not truly noble.

Why Do Wild Animals not Cultivate Their Own Doctors?
Xuefeng
(Translation edited by Qinyou)
Humans meticulously care for themselves, always fretting over and preparing for unforeseen future events, being "precautious" and "preventative." Contemplating the future and taking precautions isn't inherently wrong, but the question remains: are we devoting too much time, energy, and resources to the future? By excessively fixating on the future, are we neglecting our present?
Today, people seem to form friendships mainly for utilitarian purposes, rather than fostering genuine connections as our ancestors did, where hearts were in sync. "At home, rely on parents; outside, rely on friends," but why do we rely? We cloak our true intentions, compromising and pandering to "friends" just to safeguard against unforeseeable future events, leaning on them, correct? Despite forced smiles, reluctant engagements, and considerable reluctance, we still go out of our way to garner support for others. Are we still being true to ourselves? How much of our time is squandered on fruitless pursuits? Why do we engage in this behavior? Is it all in anticipation of the unforeseeable future?
We install security doors, set up alarms, erect fences, hang electric wires, manufacture weapons, construct hospitals, and purchase insurance. As humanity progresses, it appears the less secure we feel. Why is this? Will there come a day when everyone must wear bulletproof vests and dwell in heavily fortified underground bunkers? Is this truly the path of human advancement?
Birds and wild animals do not have doctors or hospitals. Does that mean they cannot survive?
The day before yesterday, I visited the Marondera Wildlife Sanctuary for observation. A large elephant mingled among a group of water buffaloes. According to the park staff, this elephant has been alive for nearly thirty years. It struck me: this elephant has lived for thirty years without ever seeing a doctor or receiving treatment from a hospital. How did it weather the storms and extreme weather conditions over these thirty years? Among humans, who among the thirty-year-olds has never visited a hospital or seen a doctor? Can one not survive without doctors and hospitals?
I'm not suggesting that having doctors and hospitals is detrimental. The extension of human lifespan partly hinges on the advancement of medical services. The question remains: why don't birds and wild animals have their own doctors and hospitals? Are they not living freely and happily?
In the courtyard of the villa where I reside, the vegetation flourishes. Every day around four-thirty in the morning, birds chirp in unison, and around five o'clock, when I open the window, I can observe a dozen or more species of birds merrily chirping and catching insects. They appear so carefree and liberated, utterly unconcerned about world affairs, currency fluctuations, the Iraq crisis, or the Asian financial turmoil. I wonder, should humans take a cue from birds?
If we eschew reliance on anything, and nothing can be depended upon, if we refrain from worrying excessively about the future, will we live more freely? Let what comes, come, and let what goes, go. Wouldn't life be simpler?

The Future of Mankind
Xuefeng
March 15, 2024
(Translation edited by Qinyou)
The future of mankind lies in Xuefeng-style communism, a future that may be realized within the next 20 years. The evidence is as follows:
The first is natural laws. Natural laws operate independently of human will. Regardless of how great an individual is, or how powerful a country or group may be, they cannot resist natural laws. It’s akin to the inevitability of death, which is beyond resistance. All measures and methods that attempt to resist natural laws will inevitably end in failure.
New things will invariably replace old ones. Who can still see ox carts and horse carts on bustling streets? None, because automobiles have replaced them.
Marriage and family are set to disappear. They are the crystallization of the production relations of the traditional era. As humans enter the network era, people’s social relations become extremely complex and vast. The traditional family, once a haven, in turn, becomes the biggest burden and obstacle to personal development and change. Therefore, with people’s awakening and the demand for improving the quality and taste of life, people will gradually distance themselves from marriage and family. An astonishing factor is that Jesus Christ, Buddha Shakyamuni, and the celestial Laozi have never advocated for marriage and family.
Organizational control will come to an end. Before the advent of the Internet, the government and major media controlled public opinion. In the Internet era, everyone has the potential to influence public opinion in a self-media way. A self-media influencer with millions of fans may even surpass the public opinion influence and even the appeal of a government. We will find that people no longer pay attention to what the government says but will pay more and more attention to what those self-media influencers say. If this state continues to develop, a country’s organizational ability and appeal will gradually disintegrate, and the disintegration and disappearance of the country will be inevitable.
Resource sharing will become a common consensus among people. We all know a general principle, that is, “the higher the degree of sharing of things, the greater its value.” A person, the more people he serves, the greater his value; a park, the more visitors it has, the greater its value; a sum of money, the faster its circulation and the more hands it passes through, the greater its value; a region, the more people come and go, the greater its value, and the more civilized and developed it will be.
The call for enjoying old age will become louder and louder. Everyone will age, and how to spend one’s old age will be a problem that everyone will think about. Traditional old-age models, such as relying on children for support, relying on nursing homes for old age, etc., are no longer suitable for the needs of human civilization development. New types of old-age methods will be born, and allowing everyone to enjoy their old age will become a common wish and demand of mankind.
The accelerated development of artificial intelligence will force people to live collectively. With the gradual penetration of artificial intelligence into people’s daily life, a large number of people will lose their jobs. Faced with the rapid changes, individual abilities and knowledge and skills are no longer able to cope with the rapidly changing times. Only by living collectively can we cope with the diverse objective needs.
Free migration within the global scope is a goal that everyone aspires to. The occurrence of hunger, war, and turmoil is mainly due to the fact that people are restricted to a specific area and cannot move. When all Earth’s citizens have the freedom to migrate like migratory birds, many disasters can be avoided. Free migration can break down the barriers and gaps of regional culture and ethnic culture, fostering a sense of global integration among people. This sense will eventually lead everyone to love the Earth, our common home.
When marriage and family disappear, when nations disintegrate, when people have the freedom to migrate globally, when an increasing number of self-media outlets emerge like bamboo shoots after a rain, when artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence and problem-solving abilities, and when a large number of people are unemployed with nothing to do, one may ask: Which existing system and culture in the world today can solve and handle these extremely complex problems?
The answer is: No country, party, religion, or organization can handle it.
The only path for mankind is Xuefeng-style communism.
