Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (PlayStation 4) - First Hour or So (Extremely Blind) by Jo Li KMC on YouTube
Attention, all proud warriors! Have you ever wanted to get horribly lost in a big city, get beaten up by plant people, and then save a redneck from being drilled to death by a demon? Well, too bad 'cause that's what we're making you do.
This really was an embarrassing display. I have played video games, before. Honest!

Sparking Zero Gameplay Reveal Predictions!
Tomorrow morning BamCo is doing a 13 minute gameplay reveal for the new Budokai Tenkaichi game! It’s been well over a decade since the last Tenkaichi game and the Dragon Ball games have gone under a lot of evolution. The only DB game in recent years even comparable to the Tenkaichi games is Xenoverse 2, but that game plays very differently from the style of the other games.
What I’m really hoping for most with this game is a return to form to the timeless combat system of the original series, while also adding new mechanics and game modes to make it feel next-gen.
This post is purely wishful thinking and all I can really hope for is that the game seems fun at the end of the day. These predictions are purely based off of the current Anime Game landscape in the 2020s.
1 . Tag Team Gameplay (Ultimate Ninja Storm style)
The original BT games featured team battles where you could bring multiple characters in a fight and switch them out at will, or have them tag in when your current character went down. The original system is likely the most dated aspect of the original series as the process of switching characters was slow and resulted in a long animation. This was likely because of the limited memory of the PS2.
I’m hoping that in Sparking Zero, tagging characters will be more instantaneous since next gen consoles are able to utilize higher read speeds on SSDs to load content like character models and move sets quicker.
As a bonus, it’d be neat if you could call characters in for assists too like in Kakarot.
2. Multiplayer matches (2v2, 3v3)
The BT games have historically been 1v1 arena fighters, but the Dragon Ball games of recent times have started pivoting more towards multiple fighters being in a match. Tenkaichi Tag Team, Xenoverse, and even Kakarot all feature multiple characters in battle.
Other anime games in recent years have also adopted multiple players in their arena fighters, like the recent JJK Cursed Clash.
While there is a chance this game will remain 1v1 (for reasons like cinematic animations and game balancing), I think a lot of players are anticipating some kind of multi-battle mode.
3. Character classes/play styles (heavy, light, etc)
This was already kind of hinted at in the recent “Power Vs. Speed” scans, where certain characters were given labels of “Power Type” and “Speed Type.” They were described as having unique traits like more Ki consumption for greater strength.
The original series loosely had character typing, with characters like Super Trunks and Broly being bulky and slow, but having high damaging melee, while Burter and Goten had quick attacks that deal lower damage.
4. Evolution Z (Character Customization)
Character customization through items and custom moves have been a part of DB games since the original Budokai. They’ve lasted all the way through Xenoverse, although the only character customization you could do there was slightly changing stats and unlockable costumes.
I was originally going to include a prediction for a Tenkaichi 2-like story mode, however I do find it kind of unlikely that they’ll have an explorable map for a story mode after Kakarot. A mode like this would likely implicate that an Evolution Z mode would exist, but I find it unlikely.
5. Scenario Based Story Mode
This is what I think we’re going to get for a story mode instead of an explorable map. In BT3, the story mode was split up into the individual sagas and you could play fights in order of each scenario happening chronologically. It wasn’t the most popular mode among fans, but I remember really liking it as a kid.
My biggest hope is that the presentation of this mode gets a lot better from the original. It’d be awesome to have animations around the same quality as Kakarot for the cutscenes, because both the Tenkaichi games and the Raging Blast games had very underwhelming presentation for their story modes.
6. No GT or Movie characters
Most of the predictions I’ve seen for this game’s roster tend to exclude both of these properties due to the size of the roster and the inclusion of super. The game is currently confirmed to have at least 164 characters, with a large portion of those characters being newcomers from Super.
Based off of the characters revealed to far, it’s fair to assume that a great majority of the roster will be from Super, particularly the Tournament of Power saga. This makes it hard to find room for characters outside of the current canon of dragon ball (including OG, Z, and Super), so it is most likely that characters from GT and the Z movies will make it in the base game. Very likely, they will be DLC.
(Also I just want to say that I think it’s really dumb to think that there will be Dragon Ball Daima characters in the base roster, the show isn’t even out yet and I’m sure BandaiNamco have the common sense to know that people don’t want space on the roster to be taken up by brand new characters from a show they haven’t watched yet. Also it is unlikely that Daima will have a caught up English dub by the time the game comes out, so Funimation won’t be able to dub the Daima characters.)
Anywho, that’s about it for my current predictions! I doubt that all of this information will be confirmed or denied tomorrow for such a short reveal, but I’m hoping that we at least get some more insight on the game modes and combat before we get more character reveals.
I’ll also likely reblog when the reveal is over with my thoughts.

I was looking on the VR website (because I’m starved of content) and I saw this bit which got me interested
Not only do I like this as the explanation of where you find the scout characters, basically being a hub for them to walk around and mingle, but these two shops also stood out.
The logos look similar to the ones used in the DS games for Magic Moves and Cool Kit, I probably don’t have to explain what they’re for but I have an idea about these two ones specifically since they obviously won’t be the only ones in game.
Perhaps in the Bond Alley stores specifically, the items they sell go in a randomised rotation, making sure you won’t get the same items every day, like the gift store in Xenoverse 2, maybe one day you’ll get lucky and find manuals for Last Resort or Diamond Ray, and on others you’ll find weaker moves like Dirt Ball or Supreme Spin, same for Cool Kit with different kits, gloves and shoes.
Or it could work in a way like Join Avenue from B2W2, where the more players you unlock and have walking around Bond Alley allow the stores to grow larger and get better items in store, with Magic Moves gradually rising from selling weaker manuals like Dirt Ball to stronger moves like Last Resort.
Cool Kit would work in a similar way, allowing the shoes and gloves they get in stock to raise stats higher and the kits in stock go from cheaper less flashy kits, like a basic two-tone striped kit to more flashy and uniquely designed kits and “legend kits” which are just kits from teams of the past, like Little Gigantes or Teikoku.
Anyway thanks for reading my entire gameplay idea based off an image, I’m gonna go back into delusion and pretend we’re getting a Nintendo direct this week, which will also mean we’ll get Inazuma Eleven Victory Road news
#inazuma eleven#inazuma eleven victory road#bond alley is also just funny as an idea like seeing Nagumo interact with rando scout from the third game

Part 1.5 or 2 for your long ass post about the new xenoverse dlc~?
Be insane and ramble~ you know you want to~
just to let you know there's way more i want to say BUT i'll try to keep it brief bc the DLC gameplay came out TODAY (people are somehow getting it early- the actual release is in two days) so!! more rants undercut! part one of who knows how many of this rant is here!
so during the goku black arc of the future saga dlc, he said, AND I QUOTE, "it's a work in progress..." MEANING the last time we saw him, he's been working on this power up THIS CRAZY ASS POWER UP for who knows how long. and before we encounter black, we encountered broly SPECIFICALLY Z!broly. now if you remember what i said about fu's time ring and how he took all that energy from his experiments to make that ring. Z!broly's power is INSANE, even with fu's help- it is ABSOLUTELY INSANE, as he is a saiyan, the "legendary" super saiyan. now you would think "oh well with broly's power, that should be enough to make a time ring right?" WELL on contrary to that, time rings are EXTREMELY powerful and normally it takes the creation of a WHOLE NEW timeline. with fu's time ring, it just takes a bunch of history mess-ups. time rings are a supreme kai privilege and despite black's mortal body, he DID used to be a kai- that was why he could wield- you know my husband is complicated- ANYWAYS-
another detail i couldn't talk about in the first part was fu's whole "i want to talk to bulma EVEN though i didn't get the chance to". with his knowledge of time travel already, i don't think he would need to talk to bulma? but fu is unpredictable so. ahem i'm getting off-topic right-
there's a lot of things i want to touch on but again tumblr word count/s/neg. but since i'm here and was talking about fu and his new crazy power up there was something he said after the whole ideal with black. that it was a "nightmare". now idk fu didn't think the whole thing through with black bc he does have a short fuse i would know 😭 but that ain't the point- he then said that he would get the hang of his new power. now yeah that goes hand in hand with what i said about him working on this new power up. i'd get an image of what the power up looks like but i gotta watch myself here- this is fu we're talking about, whatever he's planning might be bad or good for us and again this is ONLY the first "chapter" of the future saga DLC.
thank you for reading i know this is long but it means a lot to me that if your interact only if you want to!
#there's more than this but i don't need anymore asks lori-/affectionate#the topic of the time ring i might've fumbled my words a bit#this dlc is so insane please- i got things to say about the power up as well but i had to watch myself#if i see this getting reblogged i'm gonna cry#mari's tea time
