Heehee... AZ's pose in the mosaic is reference to this Xanthos comic >:3c additionally, the flowers on the outer border are marigolds, which are Xan's theme flower. Marigolds represent both affection and jealousy, so they fit Xan perfectly.

I think for AZ, part of the struggle of being king was the way he was perceived. He was a king, a messiah, he made things better for everyone! They did not see him for who he truly was... which is a sad, lonely guy with anger issues.

Of course, it upset AZ when his own younger brother seemed to buy into this idealized image too ... But AZ didn't realize at the time that for Xan, such perceptions came from a place of low self esteem. "You're so much better than I could ever be."

I think even now, AZ struggles with the Idealized Version of himself vs. his reality, especially when it comes to how he is remembered in history. You can see the sort of different reactions to him as a historical figure in the ways he's treated by Lysandre and Sycamore ^.^

Anyways. I got a little carried away I really just wanted to talk about how this is secretly an AZ and Xan drawing 😭 but that's okay 🙏🏾

Xander felt it. They all felt it. The moment. This time in Nash's life. This change. (The bond they hold is so strong and deep I can feel it through the pages.)

Day 9 - Heatstroke

Cassie used to have a sedentary lifestyle. Her hobbies included reading, writing, modelling for her girlfriend's sewing projects, staying up way too late reading creepypastas, realise the sun is rising, and sleeping through most of the morning.

But not since she befriended her new neighbour. Xander and his parents moved in last summer, and it turned out she and Xander were in the same class, and they were also both sidekicks. They hit it off regardless, so of course they became the best of friends.

Cassie loved Xander. He was kind, helpful, got along with Cassie's girlfriend, and all their mutual friends. She could always count on him when things got tough, and she hoped the feeling was mutual. The only thing she wasn't sure how to feel about, was the fact that he talked her into exercising with him.

She used to watch him through her bedroom window. He would walk out at the crack of dawn when she was just getting ready to finally go to sleep and begin his routine. Warming up stretches, weights, push-ups, running, knee lifts, and more.

One morning, Cassie made the mistake of going outside to chat him up, and he talked her into joining him one morning. They had just started out as sidekicks, and Cassie knew she had to work a bit extra to reach their standard of fitness.

Xander turned out to be a decent coach, and he rewarded her with delicious homemade smoothies every time she survived exercising with him, so it became a regular thing. Cassie did notice her stamina and such improve, but she also learned that being a good coach sometimes also meant to be ruthless.

No matter what the weather was doing, Xander would be ringing their doorbell bright and early for their morning exercise. And no matter what excuses she gave, he refused to let her talk her way out...except for that one time she had the flu. That was the one time he allowed her to skip exercise. But other than that, he would smack down any excuse she had.

"It's just some rain. The thunder isn't even close enough to pose a risk."

"Some fresh air while we run will cure that headache before you know it!"

"You can sleep after our run. Besides, you chose to stay up all night. Come on."

"It's still too early for the heatwave to be dangerous. Besides, I'm bringing extra water. We'll be fine!"

Cassie groaned as there was no way out. She quickly got changed into her sports gear, slathered on some sunscreen, and grabbed a sun hat for good measure before stepping back out to find Xander jogging in place on her porch.

"Come on, time to warm up," he said.

"Xan, I'm already sweating," Cassie said, though she straightened her back before beginning the usual warm-up stretches.

The amount of sweat was dreadful, but at least Xander seemed drenched as well, so it wasn't just her being less fit. After she finished her warming up, she reluctantly followed Xander into the sun and down the sidewalk.

Even when the day had hardly begun, the sun already felt scorching and Cassie was out of breath before they even reached the corner of the street.

"Knee lifts til the next corner!" Xander instructed.

"Y-yes coach!" Cassie panted, her thighs already screaming at her before she even began.

At the next corner, he made her take a sip of water, before continuing a regular jog. Then there were more knee lifts, a regular jog again, a sprint, and finally a regular jog again as they headed back to Xander's place.

Cassie couldn't wait to reach Xander's driveway, when she could finally stop moving, do some cooling stretches, and then be rewarded with a smoothie. However, as she jogged towards their goal, it almost seemed as if it wasn't getting closer. She nearly tripped as she was literally dragging her feet, and her vision was blurring over...or was that the fog on her glasses?

She stopped jogging, wanting to warn her friend, but her lungs were burning and she didn't have a breath left to call his name. She took off her sun hat and tried to fan herself with it, but her face promptly hit the pavement, before the world went dark.

Xander turned around just in time to watch his friend go down, grimacing as he wasn't close enough to catch her.

"Oops..."

He quickly hurried back, picking up Cassie's hat and fanning her with it as he checked her pulse.

"Cassie? Cass? Can you hear me?" he said, roughly rubbing in the middle of her chest...but that didn't wake her up. He cursed under his breath, and quickly lifted her off the ground.

"Let's get you out of the sun," he said, before hurrying home with her.

When Cassie regained consciousness, she shivered. A current of cold air was running over her damp body. Something freezing was pressed against the back of her neck and...between her legs. She opened her eyes with a jolt, only to be pushed back down.

"Wow, wow, easy..."

She squinted a bit, her vision blurry without her glasses.

"...Xan? What happened?" she asked, pulling the ice from between her legs and putting it aside.

"You uh...passed out," Xander said, "the heat...I'm so sorry, Cassie. I should've paid better attention to how you were doing."

"I told you it was too warm to run," Cassie groaned, slowly sitting up with Xander's help and looking around. She was in Xander's living room, on the couch. A fan was placed on the coffee table, behind a bowl of ice, which explained the freezing air.

"Just take it easy," Xander reminded her.

"I-I'm okay, I think," Cassie said, "did you tell my moms?"

"Dad went over to talk with them," Xander said, "how are you feeling?"

"Ugh...cold and...sick, I think..."

"Here, drink this— small sips!"

He handed her a sports drink, and she vaguely remembered the time Xander happily ranted away about electrolytes and the convenience of sports drinks, so she smiled gratefully and took a small sip.

She wasn't sure why she was surprised, but the sports drink worked wonders, and after slowly sipping about half the bottle, and sitting in the cold stream of the fan, she felt a lot better. The nausea was still there, but different...

"I'm starving now," she said.

"I'll make you some breakfast," Xander said, "it's the least I can do. What are you hungry for?"

Cassie looked him over, wondering how badly she ought to "punish" him for pushing her until she passed out.

"Blueberry pancakes," she said, "with the whipped cream you make at the cafe."

"The hand-whipped one?" Xander asked, grimacing a bit.

"Surely you won't pass out from whipping some cream," Cassie said.

"Oookay, so I'm never going to hear the end of that," Xander said, "fine, blueberry pancakes with hand-whipped cream, coming right up."

"Don't forget to make extra for my little brother. He loves pancakes too~"

"Yes ma'am," Xander said, "but finish that drink and rest while I cook."

Hello! I am Xan and I am the worst HFR player on earth. 

For all the fanart I create of this game, I can’t for the life of me git gud at it.

I couldn’t beat the rythm tower and I can’t beat arcade mode. But I wanna play around with the shiny new poses in photo mode so bad... Is there any way I can access them? Do any of you know modders that can get me a 100% file? Or is there any other way of getting someone who is both rythm and tone deaf and with the reaction time of a slug to the top?
