Word Find Tag!
Thanks for the tag, @writingrosesonneptune (here)!
My words were: Glass, Teeth, Red, and Sky
I'll go with Song of Thorns and Supernova Initiative for this one!
Glass (Supernova Initiative)
The strange liquid swirled within the glass syringe with a menacing silver glow. Jack frowned. "What the hell is that?"
"Oh, this little thing? An advanced tracking system of my own creation. To ensure you and your crew complete your mission properly so that you can't slip between my fingers again - all of you will get one of these" The Director gestured to his assistant, who picked up the syringe and moved to stand beside Jack, who glared daggers "Injected into your bloodstream."
Teeth (Song of Thorns)
The sound of gnashing teeth echoed throughout the cavern, the creature's thundering footsteps somewhere above causing pieces of gravel to plummet from the rocky ceiling. Roselyn swallowed a whimper holding onto Renn's hand as they turned to the strange Lantern Keeper. "Okay, how do we get out of here?"
The other girl cocked her head to the side, gesturing somewhere further into the mountains. "It'll be fine, I know a way, but we'll have to be quick and very quiet. C'mon." She started to walk but stopped in her tracks holding out a hand as if expecting a handshake. "Name's Cyriel by the way. Though I think your vampiric friend here knew that."
Red (Song of Thorns)
As, giant mahogany doors of the castle hall swung open, a clacking of boots on the stone floor echoed fiercely. His guest had arrived. The king placed the gold-trimmed goblet on the table, carelessly, a drop of deep red wine staining the precious cloth upon it. He smirked. "Ah, yes, the famed Ghoulsbane. I see you found your way to my palace promptly. Good. I hope you enjoy your accommodations."
The young man shook his head, absentmindedly running a hand across his crossbow, studying the metal gears. "I won't be staying. You said you had a job for me?" Despite addressing the head of state, he doesn't bother with any honorifics.
This causes a hushed murmur to echo amidst the royalty scattered across the hall, until the the King leans forward on the table, silencing his peers with a single gesture of his hand. He didn't look away from the hunter as he spoke once more, his voice venomous as a serpent's tongue. "Yes, I do. Hunting down a certain thief of dhampir blood - one Renn Atrius of a rather considerable disrepute. I'll pay you accordingly, as your talents in dealing with such beasts speak for themselves. I assume you'll make short work of this... nuisance."
"Consider it done," Elveryn answered with a curt nod, twirling a silver arrow between his fingers, before nocking it to the crossbow.
King Larkin smirks, sitting back down on his gilded chair, the chalice of wine upon his hand once more. "Excellent answer, lad."
Sky (Supernova Initiative)
In her room on the spaceship, Cassie lay splayed out on the floor like a small starfish, a fluffy blanket between her and the cold metal of the room as she looked up at the murky, almost starless sky above. It was oddly familiar, the sight, reminiscent of the grimy moons they once called home a few years ago - and not in a comforting way.
The room's door opened with an almost hermetic whoosh of air, and she didn't need to look to recognize the familiar footsteps that followed. "Something on your mind?" Jack asked, sitting down on the floor beside her, leaning against the wall, and handing her a vanilla smoothie.
Cassie shrugs, taking the smoothie in one hand while battling with a stubborn strand of her own hair that insisted on falling into her eyes. "Eh, not really. Just thinking - this place stirs up memories, don't it?"
"I find it's best not to dwell on it." Jack agrees, gently pushing her hair away from her face. He smiles "But really, we'll be outta here soon enough. Artemis says he knows someone that'll fish the ship in no time."
"I hope he knows what he's doing this time" Cassiopeia chuckles.
"He always does - I think. In a weird, gremlin way, he kinda always has a backup plan for most scenarios."

✍🏼 Word find tag (under, ugly, unique, undo)
Thanks to @ahordeofwasps for the tag!
📝 Search for the given words in your story. If your story doesn't have a word, you can use a variation on it or a word with a similar meaning.
These are from Name From Nowhere, with a lot of help from thesaurus.com...
Tumblr media
UNDER
The memory hits harder than I’m willing to deal with, so I drop it and crush it under my last few footsteps before I stop at the door.
UGLY DISGUSTING
Will Gillen’s bitterness and resentment match the natural frequency of Vic’s until the pieces holding him together in disgusting perfection start to shake and work themselves loose?
UNIQUE
I’m already thinking about what eighteen twelve could do in the right hands. The wrong hands. Whatever. It’s new tech, but it’s not exactly unique.
UNDO LOOSEN
Relief starts to settle through my muscles and I loosen my grip on my cup a little. I don’t mean to be hostile, but it happens by accident all the time and I need to keep it in check better.
Tumblr media
Tagging @space-writes, @starbuds-and-rosedust, @sunset-a-story and @tabswrites if you'd like to do it, with an open tag for anyone else who wants to join in.
The words to search your story for are hold, fold, cold, and sold 🩷
Reblogs, replies etc on my tag posts are always welcome, but if you're doing this tag yourself, please make your own post instead of using mine to start a reblog chain.

More
(from The City is Ours)
While Chase ate the bread, his eyes drifted to the two pictures that sat in the middle of the kitchen island next to the cutting board where the bread sat.  In the first frame, there was a faded color photograph of a couple, both with dark skin, curly dark hair, and large sloped noses like Chase’s. The couple was smiling with their hands on the shoulders of a teenage girl, with similar features and smiling brightly. The photo next to it was a woman, an older version of the teenage girl in the previous picture, not more than twenty years old here. She was sitting next to a window with sunlight streaming in, and had a neutral but content and comfortable expression on her face. She looked down at a baby in her arms, bundled in a white blanket that contrasted her golden brown skin and dark curly hair.
Less
(from Fractured Stars Falling)
Cassandra came back just before dark, with a dagger of sea glass in her hand. She held it out to Raven, eyebrow raised. He blinked, trying to process. He didn’t have a clue where one of those could even be found. Then again, it was one less ingredient for the spell they needed to worry about.
Enough
(from Fractured Stars Falling)
Sapphire managed a small, barely audible, “Thank you.” and stared into empty space as she chewed on one of her nails. Raven gently pulled her hand away from her mouth before she chewed until it bled. “Hey, just try the tea, alright Love? It might help.” Sapphire came out of her trance enough to start sipping the tea.
None
(from The City is Ours)
Chase checked for the sender of the live stream link, and found none. “No… That’s weird…” He typed a few commands, and inspected the link, also not finding much. Kylee lightly hit his shoulder and signed, “What’s weird?” “This should have a sender but it has none, and I know nothing about this thing other than it’s a live stream link.”

Find the Word Tag
Thanks for the tag, @kaylinalexanderbooks! Check out her snippets here
Rules: post excerpts from your WIP that contain the given words
My words: issue, list, slow, bell
Your words: mask, wind, breath, power
Tag! @emberlyric, @the-scaredy-crow, @surroundedbypearls, @faeriecinna, @radios-podcast, and an open tag!
These are from Spark Signature:
Issue
Their first date—if anything Vy had done with Julián could’ve rightly been considered ‘dating’—had been a protest. Vy hadn’t known what they were protesting against—a quick search query reveals the issue to have been corporate overreach—but Julián was going, so there’d been no other choice, really. They’d made fun of him when they’d found him at the beginning of the day, dressed in unmarked, baggy clothes and wearing a filtered mask and a pair of safety goggles that he’d stolen from the science lab at school. Two hours later, they were crying and thanking him as he washed tear gas from their eyes with similarly-stolen saline.
List Inventory
For a beat, the Bear says nothing. Jules glances down at his character sheet, running his finger down the ‘inventory’ field. “I… don’t have the Chalice of the North Wind.” “Lies.” Even as Vy says it, even as they scrutinize the Bear’s face for any trace of deception, the nat 20 they’ve rolled for their perception check lays bare between them. He’s telling the truth.
Slow
“What do you want?” The question comes out in a breath, a whisper. Julián hears it. He’s always heard Vy. “I want to try again. I want to make things right with us — if I still can.” Vy swirls their old fashioned and takes a long, slow sip. They both know the answer to that.
Bell
They roll their head to the side and stare out the darkened window. Their PsyKick sends out a ping; it’s a whole twenty-three seconds before an online power source pings back. It must be dark all the way up to Belltown. No more work until the power comes back on. Not unless they want to take a very long hike in the very fucking dark, which they very much do not.

Word Find Tag
Look, Ma! I didn't wait a literal year before passing on a tag game!
Thank you @i-can-even-burn-salad for the tag (post here)! With such wonderful words, too! (They were so good I just decided to do it the same day. Very out of character for me these days.)
My words are: whisper, talk, shout, and scream
Your words: well, feel free to keep up with the above words, but if you want to switch it up, I'll offer graze, brush, skim, clip
Gently tagging (no pressure): @mysticstarlightduck @cowboybrunch + open tag ✨
You know it had to be The Prince of Thieves for these!
Whisper
“I made a deal to save your stupid brother’s life,” she whispers. Her knuckles turn white as her hands curl into fists. “To save his dumb ass from dying, and it was for fucking nothing. We were supposed to escape together. Together. And he stopped running.”
Talk
Bree looks at me, trembling, and we’re both exposed for the cowards we are. All talk, all boldness and bravery the evening before. Now that morning’s here, our terror is laid bare.
Shout
“I was so stupid. Naïve.” She shakes her head, decade-old anger spilling into the motion. “I ran out, shouted at him, told my father he couldn’t be so cruel. I don’t know how old that boy was, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen? Somewhere around there. Young.” She bites her lip. “James. That was his name.”
Scream
He held up a hand, signalling something to Michaelson. Finally, the bastard stepped out from behind me, back into view. He was grinning. My vision had gone blurry by that point, my mind nothing but cotton and fog, but I could see the gruesome expanse of his disgusting, leering mouth. Taking pleasure in every crack. Every scream. Every sob.

Word find tag
I was tagged by the ever-talented @winterandwords
my words are: great, grow, grey/gray, and grab
Great:
“So is this what you do now? Solve mysteries?” Ari's laugh catches - surprising even himself - in a throaty exhalation. “Hardly, Elijah had a request and no matter how old he gets, he remains my younger brother, and he has suffered a great loss.” “You both have.”
Grow:
“Foxgloves,” Edward said the name with the forcefulness of a secret that couldn't be kept. His eyes danced between excitement and fear, a tug of war that his hesitant smile seemed to be winning “I couldn’t take my eyes off them the entire time, I mean - they were in abundance before the war but now…” his eyes darted, stringing thoughts together, “...they only grow in Blue Oak.”
Grey
Ari shelves the conversation as he watches a flash of brightness amongst the drab greys and browns approach. Neptune. She fixes a polite smile at a distance, but rolls her eyes as soon as she’s hidden by him.
Grab
Edward looked furious as he grabbed Ari's hand, standing stubbornly on the bed. "When will you learn?" His voice had become something low, something angered, "...I care about you." Ari had never looked up at Edward before - it was an angle he was very quickly appreciating.

Find the word tag
Thank you for the tag @druidx.
I've got a bunch of these word find tags in my queue, and I'm finally getting back around to them. Will be posting several over the next few days.
My words to find were effort, entry, ear, error, & expression.
Passing the (optional) tag to @authoralexharvey, @alainastrauss, @ceph-the-ghost-writer, @talesofsorrowandofruin, @theprissythumbelina, @squarebracket-trick, and the usual open tag to anyone else who wants it.
Your words to find shall be please, space, surprise, melancholy, & unassuming.
Effort: Empty Names - 10 - Cleanup
“Please, let me help you.  You’re safe here,” she says as she takes his hand.  Or at least, she thinks that’s what she says.  She never actually got to practice speaking the language with anyone else before now.
There’s a moment of horrendous silence as Dis!ma*s’s feet touch the ground.  He makes one slow blink with horizontally closing eyelids and then doubles over.  Laughing.  He says something but it's fast enough and interrupted by gasps of laughter that Lacuna can’t follow.
“I’m sorry?” she says on reflex before remembering the language barrier. “I mean, I apologize.”  The latter sentence sends Dis!ma*s into a renewed fit of what Lacuna really hopes is amusement as the rainwater shakes off of him.
“Your pronunciation is so garbage it was half gibberish and half propositioning him,” Bridgewood says from the other side of the carriage.  He’s not literally laughing at her, but he may as well be with the face he’s making.  “And then you -”
“Okay, okay, I think I get it!” Lacuna’s voice cracks as her face grows hot with embarrassment and frustration.  She tries to remember gestures that she’d read up on for some culturally appropriate sign of contrition but draws a blank.
Recovering, Dis!ma*s stands up straight and speaks again, slow and loud this time.  “I apologize,” he starts and Lacuna immediately sees where she went wrong with the pronunciation but has no idea how to make her mouth form the right phoneme.  “You surprised me.  It has been a difficult day.  Thank you for trying.”
Or at least, the parts Lacuna can parse are something along those lines.
“He says getting hit on at the end of the worst couple days of his life was too absurd to deal with, but A for effort on the welcoming attempt,” Bridgewood offers by way of translation.
Entry: Empty Names - 3 - Dance Partners
The girl was surprised at how steady her hands were as she punched in the keyless entry code for the pickup.  She was the most scared she’d ever been in her life and yet there was something else.  Relief at having gotten away?  Excitement?  Thrill?  A feeling of power after having stared death in the eye then punched it in the face?  She smirked as she opened the door and climbed inside.  That last one had a nice ring to it.
Fish out the keys, start the engine, buckle her seatbelt, change the radio to something less sad, and she was off.  Or so she thought until she felt a bump backing out of the parking spot.  The girl looked in the rearview mirror and saw her pursuer once more, now holding onto the back of the truck.  She changed gears and pressed the gas, speeding forward and bouncing over the parking blocks between the spaces.
Ear: Empty Names - 20 - Changeling Child
It surprises Ashan just how light Lacuna is when she falls forward into his arms.  He is barely even eye level with her shoulder on the rare occasions she stands up straight, but he realizes now just how much she is skin and bones beneath the loose-fitting clothing she always seems to favor.
“Don’t tell Eris,” Lacuna breathes into his ear before passing out.
Error: Empty Names - 16 - Mall Rats
Echo Plaza, a place that becomes more aptly named with each passing year.
A mere three decades ago this place would have been teaming wall to wall with shoppers from Backstage and beyond.  Wide-eyed newbies who mistakenly thought it would be a good place to ease themselves into things.  Paratech hobbyists looking for the newest offworld imports to reverse engineer.  Teenage witch covens staking out corners of spellbookstores and food courts.  Offworld travelers taking advantage of their multi-day anchor world hub layover to go sightseeing.  Fairies playing tricks from the cover of palm fronds and aerial shrubbery.  Naiads presiding over the grand fountains and granting small blessings in exchange for the coins thrown in. The list went on.
Back then, when the ideal of the shopping mall as cultural centers of commerce and socialization occupying a prominent place in the collective consciousness brought Echo Plaza into being and sustained it and its occupants with an effervescent zest for life, vendors would kill for a storefront on the young pocket dimension’s main concourse.  Quite literally, as Sullivan knows from personal experience and paychecks.  In those days just being here would make everything feel exciting and wondrous.  In these window displays the kitsch became cool and the mildly uncommon became alluringly exotic.
Now there are more marble statues than people.  The grand fountains are all long dry.  Food court menu screens proclaim cryptic messages over blue error backgrounds.  Shadowy suggestions of mannequins linger in gutted boutiques at the edge of a flickering neon haze.
The golden age of the shopping mall has passed, and even the subcultural revival of the concept is inextricably intertwined with emptiness and signal decay.  None but the most stubborn of holdouts are willing to invest property in a pocket dimension on its last legs before dissolution.  Only the most dedicated seekers of aesthetic and pursuers of the niche bother to put up with the permeating air of nostalgia and melancholy.
Expression: Empty Names - 19 - Shire
It’s actually two someones walking up the sidewalk toward the unassuming safehouse, and they’re not any of the local residents that Sullivan now knows by sight after the length of his unsleeping stakeout.  The woman in front is of a middling height, similar to Sullivan’s own.  Auburn hair loose down to the shoulders, purple-framed glasses, beige knit sweater, red scarf, blue jeans.  Checking an old model flip phone as if verifying the address.  Some niggling familiarity about her appearance that Sullivan can’t quite place.
The second woman, walking stiff-backed one pace behind and a shoulder-width to the left, towers head-and-shoulders over her companion - no, her superior, unless Sullivan misses his mark.  Silver hair pinned back in an elaborate bun, expressionless face, amber brooch pinned to a white cravat, dress of maroon so dark it’s almost black with so much frills and lace that it leaps out of the realm of antique and into the territory of gothic.
Sullivan blinks through his filters and the taller woman’s face takes on a porcelain sheen and the ball-jointed segmentation of her hands becomes apparent.  Another blink and the next filter reveals the leash of metaphysical strands linking the two women heart-to-heart.  A witch and her arcane doll?  Sullivan didn’t think they had those in this world cluster.  No, far more likely to be a superficial similarity born of convergent evolution.  More likely an unorthodox familiar bond with a construct.  Either way, he suspects that once the mage is dealt with (witch, wizard, or otherwise is hard to say without seeing her in action) then that should cut the puppet strings on the doll and make for easy pickings.

Word Find Tag
I was tagged by @kaylinalexanderbooks <3
My words: accept, appreciate, access, advice
Your words: bleed, breathe, behave, bargain
And I am tagging, if you want to do it, @sarandipitywrites @aria-benedetto @pleasestaywithmedarling @winterandwords and as always an open tag
Those are wonderful words. They all appear in Sweet Little Lies (WIP Intro), and only 1-3 times each 😅
Accept
“Oh Laurent, do you think I’m that naive? Do you think I believed for one second you were just taking a nice evening stroll when…” She didn’t finish her sentence. She didn’t think he’d be talking to her about this if there were people in earshot, but she wasn’t going to risk it. “I have long accepted that you treat the truth as an option rather than a necessity.” “And yet you’re here with me,” he mumbled. “And yet I am here with you.”
Appreciate
“How are the Fiery Wastrels selling?” he asked. “Not at all. I don’t have many customers I would inflict that upon.” “But you do have customers you would inflict that upon?” Aurelia laughed again. With him around, she found herself laughing and smiling more than ever. “Two or three,” she admitted. “Don’t worry, you’re safe. No ginger, and no chili.” “I appreciate it.”
Access
“I’ve been thinking,” he said. He was sitting on the stairs. “Some of those old buildings have direct access to the sewers. Do you know if this one has?” “I don’t think so?” “Hm.” His breathing turned strained as he pulled himself up. “You mentioned a backdoor. I didn’t see one?” “It’s in the storage room. I never use it.” “Mind if I check?”
Advice
Was it too early to call it love? Every time he visited, with every teasing word, every stolen touch, and every thoughtful gesture, she fell a bit more for him. He seemed earnest in his intentions but moved slowly, and Aurelia had the feeling that if she wanted more, she would have to take the next step. A few times, she had gotten close. When he said farewell in that tone that promised he would come back and took her hand with fingers that were so warm and gentle. She opened the window and let the nightly breeze cool her glowing cheeks. Some of the others had seeing partners. Perhaps she could ask them for advice.

Word Find Tag
Thanks for tagging me @winterandwords (here)!!
Rules: Find the given words in your WIP
My words: lose, find, hide, and search
Lose
“I don’t want another chance to lose you,” My voice was barely a whisper, “and I know that Mircea wouldn’t want us to go out there seeking revenge. He would have wanted peace to be established between all of the kingdoms including Melione.”
Find
"I know, Eirallia," he sighed, his breath visible in the winter chill. "But it doesn't change how I feel. I can't just switch off what we had. I will do whatever it takes. I will find a way, even if keeping my distance is what it takes."
Hide Hidden
I ripped my hand out of his feeling a surge of irritation at his presence, “Your father kept you sheltered Princess. Most of the world wondered if you existed or if there was some reason King Leoric kept you hidden.”
Search
Desperation fueled my every movement; each touch a fervent search to find any semblance of salvation. The relentless drumbeat of fear and uncertainty echoed in the darkness, a haunting rhythm paired with the suffocating stillness of the dungeon around me.
I'm tagging @melpomene-grey, @elizaellwrites, @wintherlywords, and anyone who wants to join in!
Your words are: Life, Forever, Absent, Fear

Word Find Tag
Thanks for the tag @inkovert
My words are father, black, bitter and frame
From Nightshade
father
It took a few days for her channeling to return to normal. Her father never came to see her. He never called her to his office. He never praised her for her success. It didn’t matter. She’d been given a mission and she’d carried it out. Ren didn’t expect praise after completing a mission. Neither did anyone else in the Syndicate. They were simply doing their duty. It should be the same for her.
black
The room was dark, the blackness almost tangible. She couldn't see Nix, but she heard him let out a shaky breath before his voice cut through the darkness. “What are you doing here?” She smiled. Even without sight, he knew it was her.
bitter
“Hey this isn’t so bad,” he said before finishing the cup. Nix grimaced. He knew from experience that Kaori's medicines had a strong bitter flavor. “Try not to move your shoulder much until the wound heals,” Kaori said as she gathered up the remains of the herbs they had purchased. She didn’t offer to leave any for the Peacekeeper, even though they had been bought with his money.
From Beyond the Darkness
frame
Thea wrenched open the crooked front door and leaned wearily against the cracked frame, her breathing heavy. The fading evening light drifted through the missing window panes of their small house.  “You’re back early,” Kai said as he turned to greet her. His smile quickly faded when he saw her. He abandoned the pot he was stirring at the small stove in the corner and limped toward her with quick, uneven steps.

Word find tag (Hope, home, hold, hole)
@winterandwords tagged me to search my WIP for hope, home, hold, and hole
Hope
Kohl mostly lined her round dark eyes that had seen its more than fair share of hardship and suffering and loss of hope in humanity.
Home
“An enchanting home it is, madame,” complimented Justin. He hadn’t fully appreciated it, but this bedchamber appeared more comfortable than his own even when it was in a more luxurious home.
Hold
He hissed and winced, but Clarisse gave him a measure of comfort by whispering words of comfort, encouraging him to hold on as she applied the medicine on the wound.
Hole
He took off his trench coat, letting it slide to present him in a well-fitted black suit with a black tie. A white rosal was in the buttonhole, stark against the dark backdrop.
Tagging @laplumedemaureen, @chauceryfairytales, and @clairelsonao3 if you'd like to do it, with an open tag for anyone else who wants to join in.
The words to search your WIP for are road, saunter, and arise.

Word find tag
today's word find comes courtesy of @emabatis! go check out their snippets from What Dahlia Knows (plus one from ON SCENE, which might be my favorite of the group) here
i'm looking for Crouch, Finger, Seat, and Written - i'll search the Cyberwitch WIP for this one (i've actually got enough written for this game to work now, which is exciting).
but first, let's pass the tag on to @the-down-upside-finch, @squarebracket-trickster, @revenantlore, @macabremoons, and @innocentlymacabre (plus an open tag for anyone else who wants to play). your words, should you choose to accept them, are decide, front, slam, and happy.
Crouch
The door slides shut behind Julián. He drifts through the bar like a morning fog, pretending not to notice Vy pretending not to watch. “Jacqui won’t mind?” “She’s with her boyfriend; she couldn’t care less.” Vy drops into a crouch behind the bar, flicking on the overhead lights as they check their various add-ins and accoutrements. No alchemy for this drink, they decide—just good old-fashioned bartending.
Finger
It draws them forward on a tether, straight to the touchtab mounted to the front of the desk. The left side of the tab’s screen reads: “Available artists: Julián (he/him).” Julián. Vy rolls the name around in their mouth as their fingers trail across the braille bumps on the right side of the tab. J-u-l-i-á-n. She doesn't even own the bike anymore; Julián does. Mystery solved; obsession averted. They can go home—they should go home. Vy’s been gone damn near the entire shift and Jacqui’s got to be pissed. They have a bar to think of, a business. They don’t have to think about the bike, or her, again.
Seat
The car door slams behind Vy. They fall back against the plastic seat as the vehicle lurches into motion. Out the window, faintly, a retinue approaches the alley, the imprint. The car picks up speed; the cops shudder and blur and fade into gray walls and neon lights flickering to reluctant life. Vy turns and stares through the dividing grate, out the windscreen. The cabin reeks of blood and magic.
Written Wrote (so close! almost had them all)
Vy forgives too easy—Jacqui tells them so all the time. There are s million excuses Julián could give—death in the family, Seattle’s a shithole, I tried to write you, I wrote every week but dragons kept eating my fucking carrier pigeons—that Vy would take like a pill. They’d take it, and they’d be happy. Julián doesn’t say a word. He just sighs and rubs the back of his neck and stares at his shoes and doesn’t say a single fucking word.

Find the Word Tag
I was tagged by @tabswrites in this post here. I was also tagged here by @kaylinalexanderbooks. Thank you!
My words (round 1): try, bright, teeth and smile
My words (round 2): tool, personal, appear, sour
Gently tagging (no pressure): @oh-no-another-idea @verba-writing + open tag
Your words: bristle, teem, small, perchance, sound
All of these come from the various TPOT-related short stories I've got hanging around!
Try - Are You Nobody, Too?
I whirl around, stupid Stella’s stupid voice in my stupid brain. “Don’t you dare try anything, Henry Bailey. I’m trusting you, and if you—” “Jeez, Lucy.” He sighs and takes a step back. “This doesn’t seem much like trust, does it?”
Bright - Are You Nobody, Too?
Outside, the wind picks up. Autumn is in full swing, with maple leaves now the colour of crabapples, some of them already starting to fall and coat the ground, painting it the hues of the season—sun-bright yellow, brilliant orange, and of course, blood red.
Teeth - When the Snow Falls
At the graveness of his son’s tone, and how it perfectly imitated the dour seriousness of a stern-faced schoolmaster or perhaps a proselytizing pastor, Dad muffled a snort of laughter and pressed his teeth into his knuckles.
Smile - Are You Nobody, Too?
“One week,” I say. A smile spreads across his face. “A few days off. Time to practice. And then in a week, I’ll take you up on your stupid offer. And I’ll win.”
Tool / Personal - As Good As Gold, and Better
...I put my attention back on Will. I didn’t really know what I was doing when I told him to help the children put their ornaments on the tree, but he’s doing a splendid job, so much that I almost want to let my hands fall still so I can keep watching him. He’s got this great silly smile on his face every time he kneels down to talk to one of them, and even though they’re so much smaller, none of them seem the slightest bit frightened. One of the little girls—of course, it’s the one with personal space issues, the one who crawled under my legs earlier—even leaps into his arms out of sheer excitement to put her messily drawn star as high upon the tree as she can reach.
Appear - It Isn't Much, But It is Enough For Me fun fact it's been retitled and it's now called Making Home
“Don’t play with fire unless you want to get burned,” Colette echoed, glaring him right into the kitchen, though Jamie could see the laughter trying to fight its way onto her face. Her grin faltered as she caught Jamie’s eye, and they both seemed to have the same thought at the same time. When Jamie glanced over at Geoff, he, too, appeared to be thinking it—the creeping sense that Colette’s warning applied to more than Will’s childish aversion to work.
Sour Bitter - Are You Nobody, Too?
He is, and maybe I’m a fool for taking him up on his offer, but for the first time in weeks, I’m feeling something other than the empty dread these long, bitter days have brought.

Find the Word Tag game (chest, book, glass and window)
Greatings everyone, well I have been tag by the always lovely @axl-ul (I apologize for the wait) to find the words chest, book, glass, interest and window in my WIP: The Eternal Throne. Make sure to check out his post right here.
Hope you enjoy!
As always a gentle reminder, these are rough translations from The Eternal Throne.
Chest from Chapter 5: The Smuggler.
One of them, the one directly behind <Samuel>, tried to make a vertical slice with his sword. Before he could even swoop his sword downwards. <Samuel> giving him a quick glance reacted with an even quicker move, turned himself towards his aggressor and putting both hands as support in the bar, delivered a kick with both legs right in his chest; with his guard open the soldier just received the hit, losing balance and falling on his back.
Book from Chapter 2: The Farmer.
<Bren> without much thought, lean over, dropping the staff beside him, taking the book with both hands already open on the floor.
His eyes quickly went through every page trying to decipher its secret, but, his glance only found those walls in ivory. One after the other those blank pages went through and, at that moment, filling the lad with doubts, after all maybe he was mistaken, but his conviction led him to the next page.
Glass from Chapter 10: The Maid.
—Doing what exactly? Searching for myths? Explore ruins of a glory long gone? There's nothing out there worth anything in that cruel world.— Her eyes went glassy and in the starlight they shined as two golden plates —Why do you want to inflict you more pain?
Interest from Chapter 3: The Ranger
—I came here because I heard you had an elusive prey giving you trouble, and now that I’m here I can see that not only it's an elusive one,— she explained while looking at the wall of flames that now was slowly vanishing —but an interesting one as well.
Window from Chapter 1: The Healer.
While exploring the second floor, he found that a main hallway connected with some doors and at the end was a wooden shut window in which dim light passed through. His search continued there, the magus carefully opened each door until behind one of them the detection spell, as expected, finally had a reaction.
Well that's it for me, hope you enjoyed! Now time to tag: @goblin-writer, @asablehart, @maddstermind, @the-down-upside-finch, @lexiklecksi @betweenthetimeandsound @inkhelm and @charlies-storybook Your words to find are: Word, Seek, Find and Surprise. Have fun!
