Family lore?? my grandfather was an extra in the film Woh Kaun Thi starring Sadhana and told us that he had this brief conversation with her which he's never forgotten. So apparently gramps wanted to be an accomplished actor as a child like everyone else in his family but it wasn't what he'd imagined and was getting disillusioned. He doesn't remember the exact words but she pointed to this light bulb and asked him if he'd ever thought about it before. Sure, whenever I want to switch it off or on was his reply. The conversation was then cut short as Sadhana was summoned by the director. Gramps on the other hand, couldn't STOP thinking about the light bulb. What occurred next? He ran away from home, studied physics on the streets and earned a scholarship to one of the best engineering institutions in the country. He was really happy when I told him she'd won the first round! But she's losing in the second?? VOTE SADHANA NOT JUST BECAUSE SHE'S SO PRETTY BUT ALSO BECAUSE SHE HELPED A RANDOM TEENAGE BOY IN THE 60s TO DISCOVER WHAT HE TRULY WANTED IN LIFE.

Good evening everyone, I'm your self proclaimed host तितली (@alhad-titli)

Humans can't endure boredom... Hence we found many things to entertain ourselves with. Plays, music, books, movies, shows, and many more things.

Most of the time, we indians get rid of our boredom by watching bollywood movies (old era ofc. new bollywood is uhh well we all know what am I talking about.) No matter what kind of international web series, show, drama you may watch but you will feel home in only movies which are in your native language. We are separated by states, languages, culture but united by bollywood.

Yes today is bollywood night. There are many masterpiece movies, Mughal-e-azam, umrao jaan (both), woh kaun thi, om shanti om, kabhi khushi kabhi gam, mein hoon na, but our tonight's guest's personal favorite is "Jab we met" can you guess who's that? Keep guessing.

If geet and aditya ever come out of movie and had to say something to us then it would have been this:

Aditya: "In your opinion, what keeps a person going?"

Geet: "Golgappe yaarrrrrrr."

Aditya: "Geet, I am serious, give me an answer, tumhe ek baar me samjh nhi aata?"

Geet: *stares at him with puppy eyes*

Aditya(sighs): let me answer it, it's the love that keep us going, love has the power to change us, rebuild us, love can make a dead person alive and can also kill a living being. love hurts but its important. There are many types of love, platonic, romantic. For example, you dont like your family in many terms but you still love them right?

Geet: *nodding*

Aditya: similarly we love the love things that may hurt us , because those things those people are our people . love is simple and very complex at th esame time its fragile like a bomb but remember in all these ups an downs of life dont forget to love yourself and the people around you .

Geet: *glares at him*

Aditya: so Geet meri sardarni, tell me who do you love the most now ???

Geet: *laughs* golgappeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Aditya sighs and takes her on date.

Back to reality everyone.

Remembering Raj Khosla on his 99th birth anniversary (31/05/1925).

Raj Khosla was one of the top directors in Hindi films from the 1950s to the 1980s. He was popularly known as a 'women's director' because he showcased actresses at their best capabilities. Khosla is that rare filmmaker in Hindi cinema who handled different genres of films with equal ease while adding his own individual stamp to each of his films. Along with Guru Dutt and Vijay Anand, he was responsible for elevating song picturizations in Hindi cinema during the 1950s and 60s.

Born on May 31, 1925, Khosla initially entered the film industry with hopes of becoming a playback singer. Struggling to make it as a singer, he joined Guru Dutt as an assistant director with Baazi (1951).

In 1954, Khosla got his first break with Milap, starring Dev Anand and Geeta Bali. The film failed to create a significant impact, but Khosla's second film, produced by his mentor Guru Dutt, C.I.D. (1956), propelled him into the big league. C.I.D. was a polished crime thriller that highlighted Khosla's stylish shot-taking and innovative song picturization, elements he inherited from Guru Dutt.

As he continued to make films, Raj Khosla altered his film styles at times and added his unique touch to each genre. Never wanting to play it safe, Khosla made films that were widely different. He explored a variety of styles, including crime thrillers like C.I.D. and Kala Pani, musicals like Ek Musafir Ek Hasina, suspense thrillers like Woh Kaun Thi?, Mera Saaya, Anita, melodramas like Do Badan and Do Raaste, and dacoit dramas like Mera Gaon Mera Desh.

Films like Prem Kahani (1975), featuring the then hottest pair of the day, Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz, and another smash hit, Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki (1978), made Raj Khosla one of the most revered directors in Bollywood. He was a director who understood women and their sentiments very well. Khosla worked with eminent actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, and Shatrughan Sinha. He passed away in 1991. The last years of this director were not much attached to the film industry.

Raj Khosla was awarded the Filmfare Best Movie Award for 'Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki' in 1978.

which bollywood film were you watching in the pic? also would like some recs if you have any!

i was watching woh kaun thi? which you can watch here on youtube with english subtitles! i really enjoyed it, and i want to watch two other films by the same director with the same actress, that apparently form a "mystery trilogy" together — mera saaya (1966) and anita (1967). for the rest literally the only other bollywood film i've seen is kabhi khushi kabhie gham (2001) which i really liked too. if anyone has recommendations for me and anon i'd love to hear them :)
