#WinterFES 2021

“Hello!” Itty bursts up from the thick snow that was fully covering them moments ago, keys jingling. Then they stare up for a moment, taking in the person (Pokémon!) they’ve just blindly tunneled up to.

“Hey, you’re an Oshawott!” They’re so glad to see a Pokémon so soon after their return here. “I’m Italma, or just Itty! What’s your name?”

Aaaaand following up on that info post, here’s Leon’s very first starter call!

They’ll probably be winterfes themed, length will vary, and I’m leaving it uncapped (but maybe selective) bc I have so much muse for him rn-

Is this reflection really hers?

Kay’s staring deeply into one of the funhouse’s mirrors, seemingly entranced by its surface. She isn’t sure why mirrors have been freaking her out lately, but after one bad nightmare back home, she’s been terrified of them. And the longer she stares at her reflection, the more she scrutinizes it. Is something... wrong with the way she looks? Is this how she’s supposed to look?

She cautiously presses a hand to the glass, as if she’s worried that her hand will pass through. But it’s met with the solid, cold surface, and her reflection remains unchanged, no matter how long she stares at it.

When she pulls herself away from one of them, there’s more mirrors all up and down the hall, hundreds of reflections that don’t feel right, and a sense of unease that she just can’t shake. She’s so overwhelmed that she doesn’t even register the people around her, and her gaze is far away, focused on a reflection from the end of the hall. She jumps as her back hits another mirror, and though this isn’t a maze, she’s suddenly lost sight of the room’s exit.

Why does everything feel like that dream?

“I did this before last time- it’s easier to work on it without breaking the ice than you’d think, but still really hard to get it looking right.  That’s why I’m just sort of abstracting the face and little details a bit more!”  Utterly unbothered by the cold air around her, Jester was hard at work at an ice sculpture, starting to take the shape of a tall humanoid, their neck looking to be craned downward as they reached for something down near their legs- currently an amorphous blob.  She turned her attention away to look to her friend, who was watching closely.

“Think you might want to try it out, Lucretia? I know you really like sketching stuff, and I know I enjoy trying out new kinds of art whenever I can! There’s plenty of ice blocks, chisels, and chainsaws around here.”

✿              “oh?? you’re not going to eat?? here. you know, it costs nothing so please make sure you eat too.” martel held out a cup of corn soup to stop the man from leaving premature. it was not her duty to distribute the soup; however, martel took it upon herself to make sure the hungry did not shy away. it wasn’t every day they’d be so blessed, after all.

being that this stranger was also a half elf like her, she took kindly to this stranger. after all, during her time... if they didn’t have each other, then they had no one. some feelings die hard, and love and care for her people persevered. 

“and if you’re uncomfortable being in such crowds, there is no rule saying soup must stay within the area, and neither do you. as long as you get the soup you deserve. ♥ ”

“Hey! Uh, a little help here?”

Just a few seconds earlier, Leon had been all confidence, assuring this guy that he could ‘totally make that jump’. Turns out skiing is a lot harder than he’d remembered, and he’d gotten a little too cocky with his stunts. It’s like the universe doesn’t want him to relax and enjoy some leisure time.

Luckily his reflexes are as sharp as ever, and he was able to grab the edge of the ramp before he fell-- but that still left him in a precarious position over a pretty steep drop. Don’t look down, Leon.

“As much as I enjoy hanging around, I don’t think I’d particularly care for the fall that would follow. Do you think you could lower something down...?”
