Basic story-line for the Funtimes aka Elizabeth's anthropomorphic clown oc's with one (1) human being her clown sona. (Circus baby)
It starts off as a normal type of story that you wouldn't bat an eyelash at. Where Circus Baby runs the circus, all the other funtimes are just other furry's who work with her but also they're a huge family. They all love each other + protect each other. They all have varying tragic backstories that lead them to the circus in the first place then settling in then found family trope. It has a lot of themes of feeling loss, finding family, and that yearning for understanding. Because, Elizabeth wants to be understood. She's trapped in this false persona she's made and tries to make herself feel better by saying it's a game. That, she's pretending and tricking all these people for fun so that they never know.... Know what? Basically know who she really is even though that's her deepest desire. To drop the act, to be herself unapologeticly and her friends won't abandon her for it. Circus Baby is Elizabeths clown sona whose parents died in some tragic heart shattering way and that's why she started the circus because only her parents understood her so she wanted to be a person for others just like her. to show them that she can understand them too- to be weirdo's together!
Ballora is NOT human in this, she's an Otter Ballerina with three otter babies those being loosely based off of Bidybab, Minireena and Electrobab. The kids def act as a mix of clown/ballerinas that do silly dancer acts after their mom or they just sit around taking tickets and money. There rolls are interchangeable depending on what is needed. She ran away from her abusive husband and took her kids with her (he'll probably show up to try to threaten her later in the story before he gets killed) This storyline is based off of real otter behavior! Male otters will threaten to kill their own pups unless the female gives them more food. It's pretty crazy.
Bon-Bon and Bonnet are small married rabbit couple with their huge adopted... son Fredrick Von Müller. I went Dot dot dot because Fredrick is way to old to be adopted but it happens anyway. He's not an old man but he's more like peer age to them then son age. He has huge mommy and daddy issues. Funtime Foxy and Lolbit are fraternal twins that work as a PR team and Advertisement selling the circus to whatever town they travel too next always pulling in a crowd.
Funtime Chica works as the mystic of the group very flashy and a great smooth talker. Is in a very tremulous love affair with Carl whose just a random carnie... They're at each others throats sometimes while at others they are making out and it's gross Music man is the strong man act BUT also dabbles in music. Though music is more of his passion and he has a soft soul.
Ennard local bastard who refuses to leave.
Molten & Tangle: Investors of the circus who always bully them about how they aren't making them enough money. May or may not be murdered later.
Main story idea is that Funtime foxy gets murdered (mangled) and then it's a huge murder mystery trying to figure out who did it and why. Freddy is a huge suspect and you kinda learn he's very blood thirsty but he's the red herring of the story. Ennard is the second red herring of the story though he's done some super shady stuff too. It was obviously a crime committed from passion. My idea was that Mangled was romantically involved with Molten and Tangle mixing business with pleasure. but one of the two buissness duo got tired of sharing + heard that Foxy was thinking of breaking off with them to be fully with the other. Thus causing a confrentation, then murder of the fox. Thank you for coming to Elizabeth's ted talk there's a secret princess in the circus but I'm not telling you who it is.

The Case File – Mice and Murder Ep 1
The Case of the The Pernicious Party
Hello, hello, hello! It’s been a hot second but your resident D20 recapper is back to tackle the newest season: Mice and Murder! Y’all had to know I wasn’t gonna sit out the murder mystery, are you kidding me???
I might be playing around with the format a bit in the coming weeks to make sure I have the best possible system for keeping track of possible clues, suspects, and theories as we untangle whatever web Brennan weaves for us this season so don’t be surprised if things change a little.
Anyway, without further ado, onto our mystery!
Summary
In case you missed it, this season takes place in an alternate, Zootopia/Wind in the Willows-esque universe where all the characters are animals but history seems to have happened in more or less the same way--for example there was still a King Charles but he was a King Charles Spaniel (cute Brennan). Our story specifically takes place in the English village of Tufting Meadows.
We start with Katie’s character--Gangie Green (Weasel/Thief Rogue) in the graveyard of the Anglican Chapel (Our Lady of Prayerful Paws). Gangie, we learn, is an orphan who was kicked out of the orphanage at some point for thievery. Obviously, he’s not reformed of the habit because he is here to do some graverobbing. On a nat 20 (that Katie hilariously doesn’t notice even though her total is like a 29) Gangie can see through the window of the rectory that there is a weeping window inside--Catherine McCabbage who is being (dubiously) tended to by Raph’s character, Vicar Ian Prescott (Owl/Bard, College of Eloquence).
Ian comes from a line of men of the cloth but he’s not exactly the best speaker despite his subclass. He’s doing his best though! The widow’s husband (Conor McCabbage) died at the local mill in what has been declared an accident but she suspects foul play. She’s been hearing his voice on the wind and wants Ian’s professional opinion on whether this could be a sign from God or if her husband might be speaking to her from beyond the grave or something like that. Ian gives a very muddled and not very comforting answer but seems pretty sure that something sketchy did in fact happen. Then, he sees a crack of lightning outside which illuminates the graveyard where he gets a glimpse of Gangie.
He goes to check it out (and Gangie fully has an elderly goat he’s dug up slung over his shoulder) but “gravedigger” is his legit job so Ian decides to assume whatever’s going on is legit and not ask too many questions. He goes back to the widow (who, before she leaves, says that maybe sometimes people need to work on God’s behalf) while Gangie takes the body Loam Hall (a massive manor, built into a hill).
We cut to the next day and our next two characters!
At 22B Hamsted Street in a pretty well appointed home are Ally and Grant’s characters. First up, we have Lars Vandenchomp (Huge ass Doberman/Battlemaster Fighter) who is so tough looking but also so Swedish sounding--it’s A Lot (so, incredibly on brand for Ally). Lars is security for Grant’s character Sylvester Cross (Fox/Inquisitive Rogue) who is a kinda (to use Grant’s word) “foppish” Sherlock Holmes type. He was hired by Squire William Thornwall Brockhollow to figure out what happened with Conor McCabbage (and clear him of negligence in running the mill) but he couldn’t find any evidence of any funny business, making this the only case he’s never cracked. He’s not as young or popular as he once was so this is, understandably, bumming him out. He’s even more bummed out when he realizes that William has invited him to his 60th birthday party that’s happening that night (as kind of a prop to show that he did his part in trying to solve the mystery) and Lars has already RSVP’d yes. He grudgingly agrees to go as it’s one of those asks that’s really more of a veiled demand but decides to pull the money he was paid from the bank first so he can return it and really stick it to the guy.
Finally, we cut to our last set of PCs who are on their way to Tufting Meadows via a very luxurious train. Inside are Sam and Rekha’s characters! Sam is Buckster $ Boyd (Peccary which is like a small boar/Mastermind Rouge) a Texan Oil Tycoon who acts exactly how you’d expect a Texan Oil Pig to act. Yes, you pronounce the dollar sign as “dollar sign” (even though as we find out later his middle name is Cassius so it’s like Cash which I think is super cool). With him is Rekha’s character, Daisy D'umpstaire (Raccoon/Assassin (???) Rogue another American (from South Carolina) though it seems she’s My Fair Lady’d herself into an upper class socialite (her last name was previously Dumpster). They’re traveling with their accountant, an Armadillo named Armond who seems kinda skittish and concerned about their travel expenses but Buck tells him that to make money you gotta spend money and they’re gonna make a *ton* of money on this trip. They’re also so so mean to him for absolutely no reason.
When the train stops, they’re greeted by Templeton Padhop (a frog, natch) who is the chauffeur of Loan Hall, sent to fetch them. A wheel on his car is broken so he joins in on the Armond abuse immediately and has Armond roll into an Armadillo ball and replace it. Poor guy. When they show up they're greeted by a footman--a pug in a bowler hat named Milo Snout.
Meanwhile, Lars and Sly (Oh, Sly fox, I see what you did there Grant) are similarly greeted by another footman--a lizard named Basil Baskins. On a 23 perception check, Lars sees that Jeremy “Jez” Brockhollow is inside (the son of William who is a badger btw) and also clocks Gangie (who they know as a career criminal who disappeared like a year ago). Gangie doesn’t notice Lars though.
Ian, who is also invited, shows up at about the same time as Sly but very quickly, the conversation is taken over by Lucretia “Lucy” Brockhollow, William’s older, eccentric sister who immediately gets into it with Lars about astrology and the occult (she thinks bad stuff is happening because of a curse let loose when Sly’s old rival--a rabbit named Fletcher Cottonbottom who is the son of his former employer--opened an Egyptian tomb). They’re thick as thieves right away because Ally is a nonsense magnet. And not like a regular magnet, one of those big electromagnets.
Daisy and Buck spot William’s kids--the aforementioned Jez and his older sister Constance--along with their husbands Dr. Corbin Magpie (Constance’s and obv a magpie and a doctor) and Osmond Sheffield (Jez’s who is a Ram and a lawyer). Daisy is too stuck in her conversation with a truly unhinged squirrel (Lady Eugenia Bristlebrush who clearly does not know she’s in a murder mystery because she just keeps talking about how much she hates and wants to kill everyone) to hear what’s going on but she indicates the conversation to Buck who is able to eavesdrop and hear that they’re lamenting that Catherine--the widow--RSVP’d no which is gonna look really bad, like they didn’t invite her (bad PR).
Buck, introducing himself as a business partner of William, eases into a conversation with the husbands which their respective spouses also join into and we learn that Buck's dad was British and a friend of Willian’s. Buck bonds with Jez (who is a bit of a dilettante) really quickly since Buck is ready to go drinks-wise immediately (and there’s a stellar pun about the “American [Drinking] Constitution''). Through the window, Buck notices Gangie outside getting his attention.
At the same time, Ian is going from party guest to party guest, giving out the penances he forgot to earlier at church (as one does). We see him talking to the Lord and Lady Bramble (a cow and hedgehog, respectively) and while she wants to pray her way out of situations without doing any legwork, he wants to buy his way out and gives Ian 250 pounds. A frustrating but financially lucrative conversation.
Buck goes outside to talk to Gangie who has a list of names of the bodies he’s been collecting. We’re not told what Buck is doing but it seems that this list is extremely valuable to him in some way. Gangie (who Buck keeps calling Gangly, to his annoyance) pays him handsomely (like, with a 50% tip) for the list (and Gangie gives him the real list, despite Brennan saying he didn’t have to). We also learn that Gangie has allegedly been getting the orders from someone in Loa Hall and they flow from William himself.
Matilda Molesly (a mole and the head maid) invites Gangie to come in from the rain--she’s the only person who’s been consistently nice to him and he agrees to come in for tea and scones.
Everyone is ushered together by the butler (because of course there’s a butler--he’s quite literally a fancy rat named Thomas Gilfoyle) and William gives a speech where he wishes Conor well and kinda highlights that he did hire Sly to solve the case in a “Hey, I did my bit don’t blame me” kind of way. He also makes a 150k pound donation to the church (and Ian thought 250 was good) and tells his daughter not to read the praise he got for it from the cardinal when she mentions it (I wonder if that was choreographed). Sly interrupts the speech to “magnanimously” give his money back, to William’s annoyance. Buck notices that Lawrence Longfoot (a nouveau rich, rabbit photographer) takes a pic of the scene but with Sly in the foreground and William in the background.
Then, a few things happen at once (in a very cinematic way):
As the camera flashes, Mrs. Molesly drops her tray, eyes hurt by the light. Lady Calliope Fawnbrooke (Deer, Matron of the Arts) helps her up.
In the moment of dark, after the flash goes away, the butler disappears.
Buck thinks he sees a shape through the window, out in the rain.
A cheer goes up for Sly for returning the money but all Sly can focus on is one figure he recognizes in the back of the room. Daisy, who is downing her drink and not cheering for him. He downs his as well, and looks at her until she breaks the stare and leaves the room.
And this episode doesn’t end with a dead body like I thought, but with a flashback to a younger Sylvester, 12 years ago when he first met Daisy.
PC INTERPERSONAL DRAMA Y’ALL!!! Get HYPED!
Case Notes
Here is a compilation of all the characters (PCs and NPCs introduced in this episode).
Sly mentions that Ignatius Cottonbottom faked his own death as a part of some scheme which seems like a backstory point that might come back later--we now know that there exists a way to convincingly fake your own death in this world.
Sly walks with a walking stick because of some “mysterious accident” but we’re jumping into a flashback next week so it looks like we might find out about it pretty soon.
Sly also mentions he used to be the personal physician to the elder Cottonbottom so those are skills he has. I wonder if that’ll be useful to this healer-less party. I wonder if cleric was even an option in this world which seems to be low to no magic. It would explain by Ian is a bad and not a cleric.
Lars has a military background which I wanted to mention in case it becomes relevant later.
And Dr. Magpie grew up poor and still acts it a bit even though he married a very rich woman. Brennan uses the very good line, “He forces his body into the shape of an apology”
This might be a really deep cut reference but did anyone else here was the old Britcom “Keeping Up Appearances”? Cause I was getting serious Bouquet/Bucket energy from Daisy.
This is an all College Humor season and it shows. The energy of 6 (7 if you count Brennan) top notch comedians sparking off of each other, trying to one up each other is off the charts. Some of the best bits this episode:
“When God closes every door but one, you go through the door that is open.” followed by “I’m an owl by the way.”
“Time is money, here’s both” from Buck re his inscribed gold pocket watch--everyone at the table loved that so much and they’re right.
Armond going from being a third to a fourth wheel.
And the names--I already shouted out a ton on the main recap but also a rat butler (like Rhett Butler) and naming the mouse Cat(therine). Can’t forget Gangie Green/gangrene from Katie. Also points to Ally for the data stealing Eel Musk which broke Brennan a little.
I know we just went through this with Crown of Candy but what are these animals eating? Like, in Zootopia there were only mammals so we can assume the carnivores are eating like birds and fish but there are sentient birds here. I know this isn’t important. I’m not trying to do a CinemaSins gotcha. I just wonder, you know?
Y’all were waiting for all the lights to go out during that speech and then come back on and there’d be a body too, right?
If Brennan makes the bad guy a chicken or a duck or something so he can make a “fowl play” joke, he is cordially invited to catch these hands.
I have been waiting for Raph and Katie to do D20 forever. Their specific brand of nonsense on Rank Room was always amazing.
I love love love that Grant and Rekha are the PCs that have ~a past~ because they are so funny together. If you haven’t seen their episode of Game Changers, you absolutely must (it’s also a murder mystery actually!).

How Harry’s very LA relaunch has only just begun
From Prince to campaigner and Silicon valley ‘tech bro’ what wider impact could the Duke of Sussex's new jobs have?
By Camilla Tominey, Associate Editor28 March 2021 • 6:00am
Jobs appear to be like buses for Prince Harry. Wait a lifetime for an opening and two come along at the same time.
The former Royal’s first foray into the corporate world has seen him take up the role of chief impact officer at Silicon Valley coaching firm BetterUp, while also sitting alongside Rupert Murdoch’s daughter-in-law on a commission aiming to fight “misinformation”.
Neither role appears to have required the 36-year-old former Army captain to submit a CV or go through the usual vetting processes as he adds mental health coach and anti-fake news campaigner to his résumé.
Yet in keeping with a new breed of “celebrity responsibility”, which has increasingly seen the rich and famous flex their corporate muscles for the greater good, the highly prominent positions look set to propel the cash-strapped Prince to ever more lucrative heights, as LA’s most sought-after recruit.
Just as when Jennifer Aniston became the ‘chief creative officer’ of a natural supplement range or when David Beckham backed a cannabinoid skincare company, these mutually beneficial ‘ethical’ tie-ups can be worth their weight in publicity gold. And not just for the company that gets their endorsement.
As showbiz agent Jonathan Shalit puts it: “Like corporate responsibility – this is celebrity responsibility. There’s been a shift in people’s mindsets. Two, three years ago the mindset was: ‘What’s in it for me, how can I get paid a shedload of dosh, how can I maximise my income?’ Now people desire to give back and give back support to the community.”
While pointing out that Harry is “above celebrity,” he adds: “Many celebrities are very responsible in trying to use the strength of their platform to help others.”
The announcement of both roles last week certainly played into the idea that this was more than just a money spinner for the Montecito-based ex pat – although there is no doubt all sides are set to benefit financially.
While BetterUp may be carrying out noble work in its offer of “personalised coaching, content and care designed to transform lives and careers” – it all comes at a price.
Having spoken about his struggles with grief following the death of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, Harry said of his appointment to the “unicorn” tech firm: “(I) want us to move away from the idea that you have to feel broken before reaching out for help,” insisting he intends to use the job to “create impact in people’s lives”.
The Duke added: “Being attuned with your mind, and having a support structure around you, are critical to finding your own version of peak performance. What I’ve learned in my own life is the power of transforming pain into purpose.”
He said his goal was to “lift up critical dialogues around mental health, build supportive and compassionate communities, and foster an environment for honest and vulnerable conversations” and he hoped to “help people develop their inner strength, resilience and confidence”.
It might strike the cynical as Californian word salad akin to Aniston’s declaration, upon joining Vital Proteins, that: “Collagen is the glue that holds everything together. I’ve always been an advocate for nourishing your wellness from within.”
Yet as Alexi Robichaux, who co-founded BetterUp in 2013, points out, Harry does bring a unique perspective. “He comes from a very different background,” to other executives, he says, adding: “He’s synonymous with this approach of mental fitness and really investing in yourself. It was not a hard internal sale. He will obviously have the whole organisation sprinting to help him.”
Robichaux confirmed Harry was joining the company’s leadership team as an “officer of the corporation”, which suggests it is a paid role, although public relations expert Mark Borkowski thinks it “highly likely” he has been offered equity in the firm, which values itself at $1.73 billion.
“This previously unknown start-up has now got instant recognition,” he says. “I always said that if Harry and Meghan wanted to generate income, they should look to Silicon Valley. Getting eyeballs onto the company like this, with all the competition, is the hardest job in PR – but now the whole world is talking about it. That’s the effect signing up someone like Harry can have.
“If he’s got points in this firm and it goes gangbusters, he could make some serious money.” Borkowski cites the example of shares in Cellular Goods, the synthetic cannabis firm backed by Beckham, shooting up by 310 per cent after it launched on the London Stock Exchange in February following news of the star footballer’s investment.
“This is all about the ongoing narrative, now,” adds Borkowski, referencing the Oprah Winfrey interview in which the Sussexes raised serious concerns about the Royal family’s handling of racism and mental health issues.
“The impact of generating more connections to his brand is an ongoing struggle for him. But by taking that narrative, which is embedded with that interview along with mental health issues, then he can certainly have a credible corporate platform.”
Yet considering some of the discrepancies that have surfaced since the interview aired in the US on March 7, can Harry really be considered a reliable voice when it comes to combating what he has described as the “avalanche of misinformation”?
Critics have been at pains to point out that his appointment to the Aspen Institute’s new Commission on Information Disorder, a six-month project that will examine the “modern-day crisis of faith in key institutions” appears somewhat at odds with the Sussexes’ repeated insistence that they do not look at newspapers, magazines or social media.
Equally awkward is the fact that the Prince will be sitting alongside Kathryn Murdoch, who is married to James Murdoch, the former chairman of News of the World publisher News International, who resigned from his father Rupert Murdoch’s media empire last year.
As with Harry’s decision to appear on CBS, despite the US network once sparking outrage in 2004 for showing a “distasteful” photo of his mother after her fatal Parisian car crash, the move suggests the exiled Murdochs are now considered reformed characters thanks to their new found work on democracy reform and climate change.
As Harry himself put it, information disorder is an issue that demands “a multi-stakeholder response from advocacy voices” including, apparently, the wife of a man who was found by a Parliamentary report in 2012 to have shown “wilful ignorance of the extent of phone hacking” and being “guilty of an astonishing lack of curiosity” over the illegal practice that Harry, William and Kate were all subjected to along with Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and a string of palace aides.
It is not thought Harry is being paid for his work with the think tank, founded in 1949, which will look at everything from last year’s US election to vaccine safety and marginalised communities.
It is his listing on the Aspen Institute’s website, however, which perhaps provides the biggest clue to the sixth-in-line to the throne’s direction of travel as he settles into life in the US.
Referenced by his full title, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, the soon to be father-of-two is described as a “humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate and environmentalist.”
Despite his blood-born Royal status, Shalit believes this repositioning is actually intended to put him on a par with his high-achieving wife. For unlike her husband, who left school with two A-levels before training at Sandhurst Military Academy, it is Meghan – a Northwestern University graduate with a successful acting career under her belt – who is arguably the more employable of the two, on paper at least. As an American, the pregnant mother-of-one also doesn’t carry the burden of Harry’s complicated visa and tax arrangements, amid confusion over whether he is living and working in the US as a “diplomat” or as a person with so-called “special talents”.
“I’ve met Meghan on a number of occasions and she is a hugely astute woman, very bright, incredibly impressive,” says Shalit
“So for Harry to keep up with his wife, he’s got to find his own name and identity and this is the start. He doesn’t need celebrity. When you’re Royal, you’re the biggest celebrity in the world. But what this does is allow Harry to have relevance.”
When it comes to making an impact, Royal relevance is clearly going to be the jewel in the crown of Harry’s very LA relaunch.

Notes on ‘Hoping this Finds You...’
Every slide in ‘Hoping this Finds You’ contains at least three clues- the ‘hoping this finds you’ tagline, the author of the note, and at least one thing in the note itself.  But many of them contain 4, 5, 6+ clues, some of which are less obvious, and which may be buried in the text, intentional spelling modifications, capitalized words, or even the choice of the background paper.  I thought it might be fun to outline where all those Easter eggs are hidden.
Slide #1: Abe Lincoln
Tumblr media
Text Clues: ‘Appomattox Courthouse’- site of the final major battle of the Civil War, April 1865; ‘Passage of the Amendment’- a reference to the late January 1865 passage of the 13th Amendment by the House of Representatives (and a nod to the movie ‘Lincoln’); ‘I am sorry that I can’t join you in the district tonight’- Grant was originally supposed to be with Lincoln at Ford’s Theater on April 14th, but decided, instead, to travel to New Jersey to visit family; ‘Give my best to Tad and Mary’- Lincoln’s son and wife.
Hoping this finds you reference: Lincoln, a big fan of the theater, was assassinated at a showing of ‘My American Cousin’ on April 14, 1865 at Ford’s Theater.
Signatory- General Ulysses Grant, Lincoln’s commander of the Union Army.
Slide #2: Mikhail Gorbachev
Tumblr media
Background clue: White House letterhead
Text clues: ‘what I hold Helmut Kohl’- Kohl was German Chancellor from 1982 to 1998; ‘strain on our relations for more than two decades’- the Berlin Wall stood from 1961 to 1989; ‘making the speech at the Brandenburg’- Reagan’s famous ‘tear down this wall’ speech was made with the Brandenburg Gate in the background; ‘tie this issue to the disarmament talks’- The Reykjavík Summit was held in October 1986, just a few months before the ‘tear down this wall’ speech; ‘Schulz will see that Congress back me on that’-  George Schulz was Reagan’s Secretary of State from 1982-1989; ‘party commissariat’- the term ‘commissariat’ had actually been replaced with the word ‘ministry’ by the 1980s, but being a term uniquely connected to the Soviet governmental structure, it made for a better clue.
Hoping this finds you reference: A direct reference to the 1987 ‘tear down this wall’ speech.
Signatory: Reagan, who was called ‘Ronnie’ by his wife Nancy and closest friends.
Slide #3: Marie Curie
Tumblr media
Background clue: A lab notebook!  (Probably a bit modern for the Curies)
Text clues: ‘contamination with barium’- The late 1890s attempts by Marie and Pierre Curie to isolate radium were complicated because attempts to separate radium from pitchblende often resulted in barium contamination; ‘salt form may be isolated by differential crystallization’- the Curies eventually settled on the difficult and slow process of using differential crystallization to separate pure radium, but got only one tenth of a gram of pure radium from two thousand pounds of pitchblende; ‘Becquerel agrees’- I have no idea what Henri Becquerel thought about this process, or if he even knew, but he shared the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics with the Curies, based on his early work on radioactivity, and this was a chance to include him as a clue to narrow the focus on Pierre and Marie; ‘do not think the half-life of polonium will allow for a similar method’- The Curies were never able to isolate pure polonium because it has a half-life of only about four months; ‘something Irene and Eve both enjoy’- The names of the Curie’s daughters; ‘lovely night for a stroll on the Rue Dauphine’- This is a bit dark, and actually made me choke up a bit doing it, but Pierre Curie was killed when struck by a carriage on the Rue Daupine in April, 1906.
Hoping this finds you reference: Curie won two Nobel Prizes and is known for her work in radioactivity.  She died as a result of aplastic anemia from radiation exposure.
Signatory: Her husband, and fellow Nobel winner, Pierre.
Slide #4: Julius Caesar
Tumblr media
Text clues: ‘display at the Circus Maximus’- The Roman chariot racing stadium; ‘this new calendar’- The Julian calendar was proposed and adopted by Caesar in 45 BC; ‘dictator in perpetuity’- Shortly after the adoption of that calendar, Caesar was granted the status of dictator in perpetuity; ‘war against the Parthians’- Parthia was a kingdom near the Caspian Sea in present day Iran.  Caesar was planning an assault there at the time of his assassination; ‘set up a time with Brutus’- Merely a reference to Brutus and to Caesar’s famous line ‘Et tu, Brute’ from Shakespeare’s ‘Julius Caesar’; ‘Looking forward to seeing you at the Senate this evening’- Caesar was killed at the Senate on March 15, 44 BC.
Hoping this finds you reference: As noted, above, Caesar was killed on the Ides of March, thus the famous saying, ‘Beware the Ides of March’.
Signatory: Mark Antony, one of Caesar’s generals and political allies, who commanded the eventual war against Parthia.  I chose him, specifically, so that I could use him as a double signatory for the Cleopatra slide as well.
Slide #5: Amelia Earhart
Tumblr media
Text clues: ‘Fred would never let you down or lead you astray’- Fred Noonan was Earhart’s navigator on her fateful last flight; ‘have looked for you all the way along your Pacific route’- a reference to the search for Earhart after her disappearance; ‘searching around Howland Island’- A designated refueling stop on her flight, but a location which she never reached.
Hoping this finds you reference: Simply a note that Earhart has never been found.
Signatory: Her husband, George.
Slide #6: The Wright Brothers
Tumblr media
Text clues: ‘Thrilled to hear the news from Kitty Hawk’- The Wright Brothers’ first successful powered flight came on the beaches at Kitty Hawk, NC; ‘The bike shop is holding up’- The brothers operated a bicycle shop in Dayton, Ohio, which still stands today and is open to tourists; ‘regular contact with the Air Corps’- The Brothers sold technology, and entire aircraft, to the Army Air Corps.
Hoping this finds you reference: The Brothers had just completed their first successful powered flight and were constantly attempting longer and higher flights (which were generally successful).
Signatory: Hart O. Berg, the Wright Brothers’ business manager in Europe, and his wife, Edith, who also managed European business for them, was the first American woman to fly in a plane.  (Odd historical note, Sarah Van Deman, the daughter-in-law of John Van Deman, who built my house, and lived in it from 1878-1921, was the first woman to fly in a plane in the United States.  John’s son, Ralph, was an Army Captain.)
Slide #7: Napoleon Bonaparte
Tumblr media
Text clues: ‘he may rule France in the future’- This text snippet (meant to insinuate that this is a segment of the note) is a reference to Napoleon’s son; ‘Reports from Borodino’- The Battle of Borodino, September 7, 1812, was the deadliest battle of the Napoleonic Wars, but also a tactical victory for the French; ‘that traitor, Alexander’- Tsar Alexander had been an ally of the French, but relations broke down, leading to Napoleon’s invasion of Russia; ‘Perhaps Moscow can be our capital in the east’- French forces, following the Battle of Borodino, were mounting their assault on Moscow.
Hoping this finds you reference: Napoleon did not enjoy the French winter.
Signatory: Marie Louise, Napoleon’s 2nd wife.
Slide #8: Ferdinand Magellan
Tumblr media
Background clue: An old naval map
Text clues: ‘that idiot Manuel’- A reference to the King of Portugal, who declined the opportunity to fund Magellan’s attempt to find a westward route for the spice trade; ‘There is move afoot to name the strait after you’- Of course, this wouldn’t happen until much later, but the passage around S. America is now known as the ‘Straight of Magellan’; ‘converting the Cebu’- Magellan and his men had successfully converted the Cebu tribe to Christianity; ‘similar success with the Mactan’- Magellan would definitely not have similar success with the Mactan’ ‘circumnavigation and the spice trade’- I couldn’t really make Magellan any more obvious than this.

Tumblr media
Text clues: ‘I have reduced the taxes’- The legend of Lady Godiva, almost certainly apocryphal, is that she was angry at her husband for overtaxing the poor and he made a bet with her that if she rode naked, on horseback, through the town, he would reduce the taxes. According to the legend, she did; ‘you may donate as much of our wealth as you like to the churches’- She was also famously a benefactor of local religious institutions; ‘I have even freed the peeping tailor’- The legend also provides that Godiva made an edict before her ride requiring all of the townspeople to stay inside with their shutters closed.  A tailor named ‘Tom’ was the only one to break the rule. This is where we get the phrase ‘peeping Tom’ from; ‘do not embarrass the Earldom of Mercia’- Godiva’s husband was the Earl of Mercia.

Signatory: Queen Elizabeth II.  I was unsure how she would sign her name in such a note, but found several example of letters to political figures that she signed simply, ‘Elizabeth’.
Slide #16: Pete Best
Tumblr media
Text clues: ‘Epstein thinks’- Brian Epstein was the Beatles manager’ ‘great chance at Decca’- The Beatles breakthrough recording session came at Decca’s recording studios, but it was also the end of Best’s tenure with the band; ‘My Bonny’- One of the Beatles early recordings was a cover of ‘My Bonny’ and it gained them some attention at Decca; ‘George is working on some new stuff’- A passing reference to George Harrison; ‘The drummer is always key’- Best was the drummer, and his perceived shortcomings in that key role led to his dismissal; ‘You’re the...’- Just a play on words on Best’s name; ‘sure that you’ll be a Starr’- Best’s replacement was Ringo Starr.

The Masked Singer Season 4 Episode 5: Last but not Least, let's (finally) meet Group C! (Commentary and Guesses)
Hey fellow Masked Singer fans! Welcome or welcome back to Ana’s Masked Singer recap, where I, Ana, recap every episode of the Masked Singer. I am so happy to be back after a short break after the World Series (thank God for the Dodgers). If you don’t know how these recaps go, first of all hi, feel free to follow me if you want to see more of these. Anyways, so how these work is that I first talk about who gets eliminated, give my thoughts, and then give my guesses and commentary for the remaining contestants and their performances. I also try to back up my guesses as much as I can by using the clues... even though I guide myself with the voice of the individual contestant. Anyways, having said that, let’s jump into it:
Warning ⚠️: If you haven’t watched the show yet, there are spoilers below, so read at your own risk.. this is your official spoiler alert warning. Don’t say I didn’t warn you...
With this episode, we met our last group of contestants, Group C, which consists of 5 masked characters, Squiggly Monster, Mushroom, Jellyfish, Lips, and Broccoli. Overall, to me, they are the weakest group vocal wise, but they were still fun to watch.
Alright, so let’s talk about the eliminated contestant, who was...
*DRUMROLL PLEASE*
Lips 💋
Tumblr media
Performance: Alright, so she sang “Native New Yorker,” by Odessy.... and I really try to be as kind and constructive as I can with these recaps especially when critiquing their performances because being rude really doesn’t solve anything and I want you guys to understand why I don’t like a performance if I dislike a performance (so we can start an open dialogue you get me?) ... but I am so sorry, this lady can’t sing like at all. Oh and I knew exactly who she was (haha insert Ken’s voice into that phrase lol) the moment she opened her mouth. The thing is she is talking and she messed up in the middle by laughing/snorting in the performance, it was kind of hilarious not gonna lie... it made me laugh, which I guess is a good thing, but like yeah it’s kind of obvious why she left first, because she (I mean no offense to this.. well maybe I do because I am not a fan of the person under this mask like at all since she ain’t kind and civil like at all) blew it, like it kinda felt like she messed up on purpose or that she is actually horrible at singing, which is ok because she isn’t supposed to be a professional singer and that’s fine. All that to say Lips made me laugh and I appreciate it but I am kind of glad she was the first one to go....
Anyways, she was revealed to be (to no surprise of my own) controversial talk show host...
Wendy Williams
Tumblr media
Whoop whoop, I got it right (as did like everyone who knows who she is because her voice is that distinct... oh and also she spoke during the song so it was kind of obvious, but I am still claiming my victory: Gotten 3/5 correct so far and I am proud of that number)! Anyways here are the clues that pointed to her:
Shock= she says very shocking things on her show and is a pretty polarizing figure, you either love her or hate her (I am not fond of her myself but whatever I guess)
“Speak my truth”= she’s known for stating her mind and is unfiltered with her thoughts on things
West Wing= her initials WW
Fire= Hot Takes is a segment on her show and also a reference to her book Wendy’s Got The Heat
Alright, now that we have finished with her, let’s talk about our remaining 4 masked contestants:
1. Squiggly Monster 👾
Tumblr media
Performance: I really liked his performance of Have You Ever Seen the Rain by Creedence Clearwater Revival. He did super well, like I really liked it, I had low expectations because of the costume (it’s kind of creepy looking ngl) but I was pleasantly surprised. Having said that, the moment I heard him, because of his tone, I knew exactly who it was (again insert Ken’s voice here)...
So, for my guess, I think it is Full House actor/comedian:
Bob Saget
Tumblr media
Ok, so besides the voice, lemme give you why I think that clues wise (credit goes to this Screen Rant article for the details idk on my own):
Penguin visual in the package= he directed a parody nature documentary called Farce of the Penguins
Father and a scoundrel= father part due to him actually being a father to 3 girls/his role on Full House as Danny Tanner (a single father of 3 daughters which I think is wow funny) and the scoundrel part referring to his raunchy/dirty comedy
Cookie clues= nod to Michelle from Full House and her love of cookies
“Breaking News” and him on a news show kind of thing= reference to his Full House character Danny Tanner being an anchor for Good Morning San Francisco
He also was on the show as a shrimp cocktail as the friend for the Taco aka Tom Bergeron! So it makes sense for him to come back this season which I am all into
2. Mushroom 🍄
Tumblr media
Performance: Ok, so this is like the most confusing, is it a he or is it a she? That’s the biggest question, my money’s on a boy... so my guess is going to be male (I am gonna call Mushroom a he because of that so I apologize if I am misgendering them, I just need to narrow it down somehow and I am gendering them based on who I think it is, and I feel like he is the correct pronoun). Anyways, I love him, he’s my favorite Group C contestant, and his performance of This Woman’s Work was amazing, people said it was not good, but I really enjoyed it because I am a sucker for a good falsetto and this guy was almost all falsetto, I was feeling it. Having said that, maybe I like him so much because I feel like it is someone I adore, like if I meet him, I will faint status...
Having said that, I think it is Broadway star, heartthrob, actor, singer, adorable human...
Jordan Fisher
Tumblr media
Omg he is so cute... sorry I am gonna stop being 😍 for him I promise. Anyways, big clue was a video of him singing this exact song (I think it sounds so similar, but you guys can judge for yourselves), here it is: https://youtu.be/3lzRsMl8M8Q
youtube
Apart from that, here are some actual clues (with a bit of help from this Screen Rant article) that got my mind thinking it is him:
WAITTT 🤔... before we get into that, what I found interesting is that he tweeted and I quote “Seasonal tweet to let everyone know that ____ on the masked singer is once again not me 💜” and THE MASKED SINGER RETWEETED IT... but also I just checked and this is the first time he’s ever had to clear that up... soooo maybe he’s a liar (bc of an NDA ofc you cannot really spill the beans.... but let’s go with he’s a liar)... a cute liar... but he’s lying.
Ok, now onto the clues:
A lot of Hamilton clues= “a healer and a scholar,” “young, scrappy, and fun-gy,” “shroom where it happens” = he replaced Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton in the Broadway musical Hamilton (and also can reference his Broadway roots in general like being on Dear Evan Hansen)
Started at a “rat race” and Men in Black were mice= could be a reference to his start on Disney (Liv and Maddie and Teen Beach Movie)
A shot to turn a hobby into a career= reference to him streaming video games on Twitch
Stars clue with audience= he won Dancing with the Stars back in 2017 and also hosted DWTS Junior
3. Jellyfish 💚
Tumblr media
Performance: I really liked her performance of Big Girls Don’t Cry by Fergie even though I felt like she was holding back a bit (I can kind of say the same about Mushroom... but I still enjoyed it). I am really curious to see what she can really do, because I felt her nerves in the performance and like she can do more. This one’s killing me because I feel like I have heard that voice but I can’t put my finger on who it could be
So, with that said, I have no idea who to guess:
But I do know that it isn’t ✨Billie Elish✨
Tumblr media
No, but like seriously, that ain’t Billie Elish even tho a lot of people are guessing it, I am not buying it... you’ll see why in a second, here are the clues:
The Little(ish) Jellyfish title on a book
Reigned supreme in an underwater kingdom
Fans, Tiara (“princess”)
Angel Fish
Flower Crown
Missed out on normal girl stuff like parties and making friends
Billie Elish “Bad Guy” lyrics in the background= that’s way too obvious for it to be Billie Elish
4. Broccoli 🥦
Tumblr media
Performance: His performance of House is Rockin’/Whole Lotta Shakin Going On by Stevie Ray Vaughan/Jerry Lee Lewis was not what I expected to be honest. I thought it was going to be someone younger or a rapper, but it was an older gentlemen, and he was rockin, not gonna lie. I really liked it, not my favorite though I don’t think he is bad by any means. Anyways, I feel like I know who it is... maybe I am getting this from another person on YT’s guess who I really liked (Shoutout to them idk their user sorry)
So, for my guess for the Broccoli, I think it is legendary singer...
Paul Anka
Tumblr media
The reason why is because of the following clues:
Can of Soup= he won a Campell’s Soup competition and that jump started his career
Tik Tok reference= his song Put Your Head on My Shoulder went viral on Tik Tok
Also, the letterman jacket is very 60s which is his era I guess (my mom knows more ab it than I do)
Anyways, that’s it, guys! I hope you enjoyed this recap, I apologize for how long they are, it’s kind of my thing lol! Don’t forget to comment your guesses (do you agree with me? Disagree? I wanna know below... especially Jellyfish guesses bc I have no idea who she can be), like, and follow for more Masked Singer content. I’ll see you all next week for the Group C Playoffs! Bye guys! 👋🏼

Sherlock Series 5, Episodes 1-13: Every episode is Sherlock and John 100% being Dads to a trans, Teenage son.
(@kitten-kin , I Blame You For This)
John's daughter is looking at Trans help sites on the internet, Sherlock and John to deal with a murder and Sherlock gets the last clue when he sees the site Rosie is on. But he doesn't realize what that means about Rosie until he's talking with John at the end of the episode.
John is trying to figure out how to ask Rosie about if they're not a girl whilst Rosie is trying to figure out a way to say his name is William and he's a boy. Sherlock has to deal with Mycroft and Mycroft hears... So while solving the case, he and Mycroft are plotting how to get Rosie's records changed, if they want it.
ROSIE FINALLY REVEALS THEY'RE WILLIAM! Or more, Sherlock asks bluntly what Rosie is. Rosie's scrambling for words but FRICKIN' MORIARTY has CRIMED!! Lestrade Interrupts them!! John is a mess because "how can I support my child omg they're growing up!!" as this case ends with a threat to Sherlock. Rosie finally says "uh, Dad, about that... My name's William."
Mycroft and Sherlock sort out the legal stuff, John helps his son with the medical and physical, like getting a haircut, buying new clothes and arranging a psychologist so Will can start getting therapy for gender dysphoria so he can get the meds to increase his testosterone and cancel out the estrogen. Sherlock personally background checks the therapist and realises it's Irene. She admits stuff and admits she only applied to warn Sherlock about Moriarty's next shindig.
William's first day of school now Out, a case, And another Clue in the form of a toy.
(Pt1 of a twoparter) William hears rumours at school as Sherlock gets a serial killer case. Will starts figuring stuff out as Sherlock realises the bodies are around the school area. William realises who's doing stuff at school and tails them.
(Pt2) William doesn't get home from school, Sherlock and John are Worried Hens but Sherlock and John find a clue from Will's biology teacher, who says he was staring at "the other missing student" yesterday. Turns out, that student is part of an anti-bigot group made of victims from other cases, the student in Q, also Trans, got r*ped "to be corrected, they said", and had killed the pedo already. The police catch the others, but not the student, who John and Sherlock track down. William talks them down, but the student turns the gun on themself, so William has to wrestle the gun away with John and Sherlock. Student admits their group was organised by "a guy with a nice smile" (Moriarty).
Will is Scared and doesn't want to go to school. Mrs Hudson helps Sherlock on the next case where the main witness is an abuse victim. Mrs H kicks Sherlock out when she realises the victim is now terrified of talking to authority people, especially male ones. Mrs H is The Best and gets all the clues for Sherlock, who then arrests the guy... Who hands him a rattle, chuckling.
Sherlock feels the overall solution on the tip of his tongue and feels very irate because of it. So he snatches up the next case when he gets the final clue, telling him what Moriarty's planning: Going After Will.
A case from Mycroft, nearly handed to MI5 and NBIS (the illegal firearms division), it holds the final clue, but also has John and Sherlock on the other end of London from Will.
Meanwhile, Will deals with a case back home, though then he's kidnapped.
(Pt1) Sherlock and John get home, Moriarty is playing things like another darn playground game. They have to solve three cases in six hours, or Will dies. Cases one and two are solved, but then Sherlock sees they're linked to smaller, unsolved cases. Will is finding all the solutions to those cases as he's trying to figure a way out, being allowed to send one text to his Dad every hour. So he puts the solutions in there.
(Pt2) Sherlock finishes the third case at the last second, but now he and John have to find the place where Will is. Will is in the underground, having been drugged and dumped on the unused tracks below Westminster after all the case-solving on the underground. He has to solve the "room" he's locked in. Sherlock and John have to use where all places from all six cases were to get a clue: the underground symbol, around Westminster. Sherlock calls Mycroft, but he and John are caught. Will saves them and proudly yells "CAUSE I'M WILLIAM WATSON-HOLMES!" when he defeats Moriarty before Sherlock. Sherlock and John are equally proud and overjoyed (and shocked) as Mycroft hums about this officially making Will his nephew with an eery grin.

( victoria pedretti, cis woman ) hey ! have you seen JOSEPHINE “JO” CORMAC around ? SHE works at the HOT COCOA STAND at big bear resort, but they must be off their shift by now. well, if you do see them can you let me know ? they’re 24 years old & they’ve been working here for TWO YEARS. they tend to be +OPTIMISTIC & +EMPATHETIC, but can also be -IMPRACTICAL & -PASSIVE. the other employees have labeled them THE IDEALIST. thanks a lot ! ( the few nights the stars can be seen, books worn down by dog-ears and marks left throughout the years, the first crisp breeze of autumn, the duality… of t.s. eliot )
OK. a few notes before i get started:
1) i hope everyone loves how i literally j copied my ivan stuff. url format? ‘sure jan’ lives on. theme? too lazy to find a different one that’s easy to work with. luv that for me. 2) speaking of this theme i forget if i addressed this on ivan’s blog but tabbed bullets don’t appear tabbed.... so if anything seems like it doesn’t make total sense.... it is supposed to be tabbed™. 3) get ready for drama!!!!! you may ask yourself “but the app looks so tame! there will be no drama!” but you are wrong........ because she loves cats. the t.s. eliot book......... the musical........ even the movie.
ok jo,, is also a resurrected character,,, hence how i already kno,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, that she loves cats. anyway ! let’s begin ! (listen,,,, the intro format will at least be a little different from ivan’s ok im evolving)
QUICK FACTS:
full name: josephine “jo” rose cormac
date of birth: march 6, 1995
*does not perfectly reflect the below big three zodiac chart because that’s too much math
zodiac big three: pisces sun, gemini moon, cancer rising
gender & pronouns: cis woman & she/her
sexual orientation: bisexual ( preference for women bc we luv that for her but we also luv leaving things open to chemistry )
education: bachelor in english - literature that she is doing nothing with
enneagram: 2w1
mbti: infp
various inspirations: eleanor crain ( the haunting of hill house ), dolores price *as a child and towards the end of the book ( she’s come undone ), fox 8 ( fox 8: a story ), “why try to change me now?” - fiona apple (cover), “be still” - the killers
BACKGROUND INFO:
triggers: verbal/mental/emotional abuse/gaslighting, very slight implication of spousal abuse, brief mention of car accident/death & drowning
( ivan and jo’s breakout pop-punk single: “fuck happy backstories!” stream it on spotify ! )
jo......... was born into the wrong family, let’s get that out of the way.
it was pretty clear she was a ploy to save the marriage of her parents ( who have names: lucy and benjamin, luv that for them ). it didn’t seem like they’d ever picked up a parenting book, gone to a parenting class, rly prepped for being a parent at all...... in their entire lives.
that being said, her mom was actually decent at parenting. her major flaw, though? ok, so you know how kids usually have that one bedtime story that they love and want it to be read to them over and over? well lucy complied ! but y’all wanna know what that book was ?
t.s. eliot’s “old possum’s book of practical cats” whfeiuldjkn
anyway ! when jo was seven, after many failed attempts and simple threats, her mom was finally divorcing benjamin for realz. due to his volatile nature, it was becoming very clear that she was the more fit parent and she almost got sole custody ( the only reason benjamin was motivated for it in the first place was the power so?? )! how exciting!
but the keyword is ‘almost’!
alexa, play ‘my heart will go on’ but the off-tune flute version
just as the proceedings were going through, jo’s mother was hit by a drunk driver on new year’s eve. the car skidded onto some ice, minimal damage done... then the ice broke.
jo and benjamin both devolved after that. jo withdrew more into herself and pretty much coped by..... just reading old possum’s a LOT (hate that for her). all mopey, benjamin became much less outwardly violent. the keyword is ‘outwardly.’
ya, instead of j bein like “i will just chill” he was like “i will just make my rage more subtle because in this house, we love intimidation, manipulation, hostility, the blame game, and gaslighting! uwu” managed to convince jo that her mother’s death was somehow her fault, that he was the only person she could trust, that she will never be able to live without someone else, etc., etc.
a few years in and a cycle of many impromptu sleepovers began. luv that for her. hate that for her, but luv that for her.
there is a lot i cld talk abt here, but it all seems like it cld j be tl;dr’d as: “basically became the surrogate daughter of a bunch of other people”
as for things that r not tragique™, jo was v much a drifter when it came to friends. managed to make a fair amount bc she does not seem like she will put a tadpole in ur hand like ivan. also j a people-pleaser but that’s starting to get into her personality which is another section.
did go to college. luv that for her. has NO CLUE what she’s going to do with her degree, but she can make some really sick niche william faulkner jokes.
began seasonally working at big bear during the winter break of her last year in college because bitch needed some money!! wound up loving it and was like “i think,,,, i will continue to do this,,,, the people here,,,, r cul,,,,”
still visits benjamin every once in a while. not a way to say that uwu you should forgive ur abusive parent(s) uwu rather that jo.... still has slight belief in him. just to end on something emo.
THE REST IS HISTORY!!!!
TL;DR:
started life out as a saddie, not a baddie. still not a baddie, but no longer as much of a saddie. loves “cats” and there is no irony to that statement. can make good niche literary jokes, but that’s about it.
PERSONALITY/MISCELLANEOUS INFO:
a child. a literal child. a child to the point that she should have supervision when she goes on grocery trips because she falls for marketing ploys so easily. can’t believe she hasn’t fallen into a pyramid scheme yet.
an absolute dumbass. again, can make some great niche william faulkner jokes, but ask her the order of the planets? “...well mars is somewhere in there.”
unironically LOVES cats - both the musical and movie. thinks jennifer hudson’s grizabella is the best. will start sharing random facts about it or old possum’s book of practical cats if she runs out of things to talk about but feels pressured to keep talking. was broken when she first read a different t.s. eliot poem and realized he was actually super dark. the only thing that got her through it was a comparison to batman :\ bruce wayne is old possum’s, batman is everything else.

Warning: this post is long. If you are interested on my theories on DST lore you can click on  “Keep reading” below. If you don’t you can skip it. This whole post is the ultimate evidence that studying Foreign Literature at university was a really bad idea as now I see hidden subtexts everywhere! And having had some years to work on this theory didn't help either... I will be happy to see it crushed by Klei guys themselves with the release of the actual lore in a few weeks, because they are up to something big and I'm ready to have my mind blown!
I think it's time for me to confess a little Don't Starve Together headcanon of mine I never really revealed to anyone until now: I seriously think that Wilson might be Charlie and Winona's younger brother, or at least a younger half-brother. I am not saying this just because their haircuts bear some similarities. There are some serious clues in game leading to that direction, and I found basically no counterarguments strong enough to deny the theory. I don’t know if these are funny coincidences or not, but they were enough to fill more than four Words pages and I am not one to believe in coincidences.
So the evidences I gathered could be summed up like this:
Charlie and Wilson act like they know each other in A New Reign Cinematic; she is the Night Monster, so of course they know each other! However, why did she choose to set him free revealing her true form despite her wanting to hide it and why did she let Wilson live to tell the tale?
It is confirmed that Charlie has one sister, but there might be other siblings or family members no one mentioned yet. And thanks to the information released by Klei it is possible to confirm that Wilson is young enough to possibly be Charlie and Winona's brother;
There are clues that Winona might be born into a rich family she estranged herself from because of her lifestyle (and possibly guilt for Charlie's supposed demise); the same applies to Wilson too, though the reasons of his estrangement are not clear;
We still have no way to know exactly where all these characters are from exactly, but it is implied that Winona traveled through all the USA and that Wilson at least completed his education in the USA.
It is confirmed that Wilson is a European immigrant; if we take Charlie’s Rose species name in account, her and Winona could possibly be of Anglo-Irish descent.
Wilson and Shadow Charlie share a similar haircut (and so does Winona to a lesser extend); Winona and Charlie's face structure is similar and it looks totally different from Wilson's, but there is an example in game that blood relatives could not look like each other at all (Maxwell and Wendy).
Wilson's new darkness quote is very similar to one of Maxwell's quotes about Abigail.
Wilson seems to have personality traits and interests in common with both Charlie and Winona;
We were told that Winona went to the Constant to save someone: despite their relationships being known, Charlie and Robert Wagstaff might not be the person she was looking for, at least according to her original character quotes.
The explanations and the results of some researches I made to confirm or deny my theory are better expressed below divided in four parts.
1) A New Reign Cinematic
This less than two minutes cinematic is mute like almost every Don't Starve related animation, but it's so full of emotion it's simply beautiful. And it is the only time we can see Charlie being herself before becoming the Shadow Queen, so I watched it again and again, even slowed down so I could fully enjoy every seconds of it (and a lot of DST fellow fans out there probably did too).
I have to admit that I always had the impression that Charlie booped Wilson's nose before setting him free, and that was for sure a factor in developing this theory as you boop your boyfriend or your little brother's nose, not a unknown person you just met. But Wilson being Charlie's brother would explain why she chose to set him free in the first place: before Wilson there was Maxwell, and despite all the powers he gained by being the Shadow King him being trapped on the Throne was still a torture. Wilson did not want to become the new King and so he was desperately fighting against Them and their corruption. Charlie hates to be seen, yet she chose to reveal herself to Wilson and she became the new Queen to prevent him to become like herself and Maxwell and this is a thing that every good big sister would do for their little brother. Furthermore, Charlie had to muster some serious self-control before doing that stunt because I am seriously convinced that any other character in Wilson's place would have died there and then. Charlie was smiling at the beginning of the cinematic, but her eyebrows betrayed her being extremely worried too. When Wilson is not in the Throne Room anymore she is much more relaxed, because she did what she came for and Wilson survived: it doesn't matter what will become of her from then on, and maybe that factor made the fusion with her Shadow self possible.
And about Maxwell, I think that dragging her theoretical little brother in that hellish world where Charlie herself could be the cause of his death would be a more than valid reason for Charlie to hate Maxwell's guts even more than she did before. That could be the reason why Maxwell’s death caused by Darkness is listed as "Charlie" instead. I checked it, despite Winona is canonically able to recognize Charlie as the Darkness like Maxwell, her death cause is still listed as "Darkness". But it is impossible to tell if it is a developers' oversight.
2) What we know about their backgrounds
Digging into the William Carter Puzzles Charlie's ad requisition caught my curiosity. It says "should have a curious demeanor and a keen interest in the mysteries of the universe." This description could fit Wilson too. We know next to nothing about who Charlie used to be before she became the Night Monster, aside that she was William Carter's assistant and she cared a lot about him. In her letters Charlie mentions only one sister, Winona, because she frequently visited her (or, more likely, they lived together when she was not working with Maxwell). But frequent visits to her sister don't exclude the possibility of other relatives or siblings existing somewhere else. This happened in 1905 and Charlie disappeared the following year, exactly fifteen years before the events of Don't Starve in 1921. Charlie and Winona were young adults and they probably moved away from their family. According to Charlie's last letter her family owned a cabin used as holiday house in BC, implying that Charlie and Winona's birth family was been rich enough to afford a holiday house in the first place.
BC commonly stands for "British Columbia" in Canada, a popular place for a family to have a holiday cabin nowadays. But it can also stand for Bay City, Michigan. Bay City is located near Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron, so it could be a possible place to locate a holiday cabin for the family. For some bonus points, Bay City merged with West Bay City in 1905; West Bay City was created in 1877 from the union of the villages of Banks, Salzburgh and Wenona. Wenona is an alternative spelling of the name "Winona": if the Bay City theory is correct she might have been born during a time where the old name of the area could have been still used by population and her parents might have liked it enough to name their first daughter like the old village. I wanted to see if BC could have another meaning and that was the result. But it might be just a funny coincidence.
Back to the job question, Charlie actually replied for an application that actually has not a great paycheck (during that time most performers were barely able to sustain themselves and Maxwell himself got some debts during his first years) and that required a cultured person who knew how to appear in front of an audience: during that time having an education was still a luxury for wealthy families and same goes with clothes dapper enough to look good by Maxwell's side. Her Shadow Queen's form fancy dress seems to confirm this theory. So the only real reason she could need to work is her living really far away from her family and that required her to look for any kind of job to be able to survive for the long run.
What do we know about Wilson? As he is in his 30s in 1921, he was a likely teenager in 1906, and as Klei recently said, "maybe a European USA Immigrant? We never really picked a home land for him." Thinking about this last statement, we can say that during that time that description could fit basically most of the American population back in the 1920s. They actually said nothing. BUT, in 2014, a fan posted on Tumblr another message from Klei that gives us some interesting information: these are the evidences that despite it all it might be legit:
I checked on DS and DST credits, there really is a Jan Hatchings.
The first thing Jan says is that Klei prefers to be the fan finding out about the past of the characters exploring the game: a nice way to say they are not allowed to spill too many beans. (I want the character updates and the new characters! I want to know what they are hiding!)
He confirmed some information we already knew (Wilson being in his 30s, the game being set in early 1920s) adding that he was living in New England at the time of the trailer: New England is the Northeastern area of the United States, it is bordered with Canada, three of the most important colleges of the United States are there (Yale, Harvard and the MIT) and there are a lot of woods. The perfect area for a lonesome scientist to live in.
He mentions his family not wanting to talk to him;
Jan invites the person who originally shared the message to join the official forum.
So Wilson most likely completed his instruction in the United States or he sought affiliation with American colleges, and that would be weird for a person who grew up in the United Kingdom, as he would be already close to some of the most prestigious and oldest colleges and academic associations in the world. That's why I think the "immigration" part might mean that he was born into a British family immigrated in the US and he actually grew up in the United States (and maybe not even Klei knows if Wilson's family moved in before or after he was born). As he had a nanny as a kid and, as already pointed out, college education was something that only wealthy families could afford back then, we can assume Wilson was born into a rich family that for some reason moved to America.
Like BC, New England area is pretty popular for its holiday cabins so it makes sense for Wilson to have lived into one of them. He was isolated, yet possibly close to a scientific center of interest like a university. Even if he bought the house or someone else did it for him, for sure Wilson needed some money to live in there and being a Gentleman Scientist is a risky profession for a safe paycheck. Quoting Wikipedia:
"An independent scientist (modern gender-neutral term historically also known as gentleman scientist) is a financially independent scientist who pursues scientific study without direct affiliation to a public institution such as a university or government-run research and development body. [...] Most independent scientists have at some point in their career been affiliated with some academic institution, such as Charles Darwin, who was affiliated with the Geological Society of London. [...] Self-funding has the disadvantage that funds may be more restricted; [...] It also permits the scientist to have greater control over research directions, as funding bodies direct grants towards interests that may not coincide with that of the scientist. [...] Scientists may choose to work on unusual projects with high risk of failure also when the grant system does not fund them. A scientist could be attributed the status of independent scientist if they work on such projects during a gap between two academic positions, for example."
So Wilson being a Gentleman Scientist means that he was the one and only person who worked on his own projects with no external funds from government and scientific institutions. If his research failed he could have ended in some serious economic trouble. He might have had some help from universities, but that could have not be enough. But it makes sense for Wilson being a Gentleman Scientist if his parents died and he inherited their money or a part of it. That would make him economically independent enough to perform his experiments with no considerable help.
But then, if his parents are presumably dead, who is the family who doesn't want to speak to him? It would be easy to say that his extended family thinks him to be a mad scientist and decided they don't want to have nothing to do with him. But this doesn't deny the theory "Wilson is Charlie's brother": if we take this theory in account, his only currently known immediate family members are Charlie and Winona. Charlie was presumed dead in 1906, while Winona probably got estranged from her parents because of her lifestyle and maybe even accused to have caused her sister's death. Even if their parents are dead, why Winona should think that her brother would be different? To her he is just a spoiled child who attended a fancy university and that probably spends all the day talking nonsense with other eggheads. Also her constant moving through the country will make keep contacts really difficult, so she simply didn't. Sadly a lot of people do it for even pettier reasons.
And, for some bonus point, Wickerbottom recognizes Charlie's Rose as a "Rosa Macdub", or a "Dublin Bay climbing rose". A rich Irish family immigrating from a country where uprisings were a Tuesday for at least one century would make sense. And it would not even directly conflict with the theory as the richest families residing in Ireland were of English descent and all Ireland was a part of the United Kingdom until 1919. So despite Wilson being a perfect "British gentleman" kind of character, the possibility of Charlie and Winona being Irish or Anglo-Irish descent doesn't deny the theory. But I don't know if this could count as a clue about Charlie's family origin as the Dublin Bay climbing rose was actually bred for the first time in 1975 in New Zealand, with peculiar characteristics and resistance that make me think that they might be the reason for it to be chosen as Charlie’s symbol despite its anachronism. And just because of this the thing that concerns me more about this rose is not the possible reference to Charlie's birthplace, but an explanation of how Wickerbottom is able to recognize a flower from 1975 without knowing what is a license plate!
3) The similarities between the characters in game
One of the things most evident in the cinematic was that Wilson and Charlie shared a similar haircut and hairline. Haircuts are not hereditary, but unmodified hairlines and hair textures are. Winona looks a lot like Charlie, but she doesn't resemble Wilson at all except their being two light skinned people with dark hair and solid black eyes in game. Also, Winona seems to have a different hairline than Wilson and Charlie when uncovered (except in the Gorge's vignette where she sports a small widow's peak), but the hairstyle is still similar to theirs, with only one "point" out of three. However, there are even deeper similarities between these characters: Charlie is the "bookworm" sister, interested in the "mysteries of the universe"; Winona hates books and prefers to work on her mechanical creations with a trial-and-error approach. And then there is Wilson, who sits perfectly in between these mindsets. That was one of the reasons why at first I was shocked by Winona when she was released: when I already suspected that Wilson and Charlie might be related it is revealed that Charlie's sister is a work-alcoholic engineer with a weird haircut and basically a female Wilson with a tape and the ability to dodge. (Piccolo approves.) Their similarities could be attributed to lazy developers, but what if that was actually a clue of them being actually related? Also, it is implied that Winona was grown up in a estranged wealthy family and it is confirmed that she dislikes fancy things and formalities: the same could be said about Wilson! Seriously, there are too many coincidences to be a random chance. (And that, ladies and gentlemen was the point where the theory became a full fledged headcanon. But I am not related to Klei in any way, so this is still the theory of a deluded fan that loves to make theories and Klei will destroy it in a few days with the new lore.)
And what about avoiding Charlie? Well, this could have a pretty simple explanation, reflected by their body shapes: Winona spent the last fifteen years of her life enduring all the kinds of manual jobs, so she actually gained some muscle mass and speed movement that she uses in game to avoid the attacks of her beloved sister. Not to mention that she seems to be closer to Charlie's age than Wilson is, so probably they spent some time playing together as kids (and probably back then Winona was the one winning the fight game). Wilson is more of a couch potato and according to the official timeline he is some years younger than Charlie and Winona. In case we take the theory "Wilson is Charlie's brother" in account, it means Wilson could not play with his older sisters like they used to do when they were younger and this causes him to be unable to dodge Charlie's attacks even if now he knows who is attacking him.
Another interesting possible clue is the new sentence Wilson says in DST when he is attacked by Charlie: "That presence... it's familiar! Hello?". Sure, he finally met her so he can recognize her presence... but the choice of words bears some uncanny resemblance to another quote from another character: "Hm? What a familiar presence." But maybe it's just another coincidence that this is almost the inversion of the words order of the sentence of a certain uncle recognizing the flower of his dead niece. Or I'm so into this theory that I'm seeing clues everywhere.
And for some more bonus point, look at Maxwell and Wendy in game: unless you know Don't Starve lore all you could say about them after looking at their designs and reading their quotes is "are these two guys in the same Shakespeare emo fanclub?" Their quotes have a similar dramatic tone, but there is almost nothing that suggests an actual family relationship between them. They don't even look anything alike!
4) The identity of the person Winona was trying to save
We were told from the beginning that Winona went into the Constant on her own because she wanted to save someone. We were also informed that she is Charlie's sister and she used to work for the Voxola Radio Company, so Charlie and Robert Wagstaff seem to be the only possible options as the person she was trying to save. Or aren't they?
As for Charlie, she disappeared in 1906 during a huge disaster that caused a lot of victims (the event overlaps with San Francisco's earthquake in 1906), and Winona came into the Constant fifteen years later. Probably on Earth Charlie was presumed dead and Winona went with it, as her quote of the Tragedy Marble Statue suggests ("We thought she was gone"). She grieved her but then she went on with her life. In 1919 she started to work for Wagstaff's Voxola until it burned down. However, unusually for a character who is supposed to be canonically playable only in the multiplayer version of the game, Winona has Adventure Mode related quotes that even got modified at some point. According to her original Adventure Mode quotes we can understand that she was actually shocked to find out that Maxwell's plots were behind Voxola's fire and Wagstaff's disappearance. Then Robert Wagstaff might not be the person Winona was looking for. Two years or more pass by and Winona joins the fun in the Constant, yet she never mentions her looking for someone, meaning that she already found the one person she was looking for. If this person is not Charlie or Wagstaff, who could they be? Wilson not only could be a valid answer, but if she knew where he lived and she found the Maxwell's Door inside his house she even had the mean to reach the Constant with no help at all!
But if they are estranged how did she know Wilson went missing? Well, some newspapers or radio transmissions might have announced his sudden disappearance, or the police went look for Winona because she might be the only family he has left. And the news did not leave her indifferent, so she went to his place looking for clues and found out about the Maxwell's Door. And for some bonus points, if Wilson left some notes behind (and he probably did as he used the typewriter when he was creating the portal during the cinematic!) she might have recognized something Charlie could have told her about fifteen years before that convinced her that Wilson was in trouble. So she activated the door. We know how it went.

Aye! Wrong Printer
This week’s prompts are: 1. Sent to the wrong printer.
for the Olicity Hiatus Fic-A-Thon WEEK 19
read it on the AO3 at http://ift.tt/2xFCwXD
Oliver prints out a copy of a picture and has no clue where it printed. Some one at City Hall has an eyeful.
----
Tumblr media
He knows she will kill him. This is not a small oops, this is major impediment of doom and he needs to tell her now before it becomes a catastrophe. He calls her office, he knows she is in a meeting and won’t check her phone. He knows this because she hammered to him this morning not to call up and asks her what he usually asks her every single day since they became engaged what she was wearing underneath for him to unwrap tonight.
It started off simple enough she wore something in an attempt to tease him all day long. She has taken the time to buy little outfits knowing it would drive him crazy. She looks good in everything but so much better when they were discarded on the floor after she finishes parading her sexy self to him.
He was tapping his fingers on his desk in an anxious manner as he was put on hold. His own secretary worried for him asking if he needs anything he just sways his head no but asks if she had any printouts she shrugs and tells him no.
He is in deep shit.
When she sent the photo his mouth dried up. He was surprised but it was in the best way possible. She had this lingerie that was black with green patches that held little arrows. Her backside in the air taken in their kitchen as she held the counter with a stack of pumpkin pancakes in the back drop of the picture. Her smirk prominent and she knew that he would enjoy this picture very much and more likely whine to her on their next call where he would tell her how much he wants to see it up close.
He had to go to City Hall early and he knows she had taken William to school even though he said he could walk, like that would ever happen. A bodyguard was assigned to him that has gone through some rigorous background scrutiny. The fact that Felicity would be by his son’s side made all the difference to the young boy after some major shifts in his life he was adjusting very well.
It has been a wonderful development how his son took to Felicity. They were actually thick as thieves and he sometimes could get jealous on how they bonded so well. He should have known his girl’s geeky computer gaming ways would sway his kid the most.
Now if only he wasn’t going to be murdered by the woman he loves for his indiscretion. Someone had a printout of her lovely figure in an eight by ten format. Even that in itself was wrong he wanted a wallet size picture but looking at her very nice… he had many adjective to add here like: fine, appealing, pleasant, lovely, oh he could add more but he hopes she is merciful, forgiving, understating to his idiocy by thinking with his other brain.
“Oliver!” His name taking him from his daze of what’s to come he inwardly braces himself as he holds the phone to his ear.
“Hey baby.”
“Don’t baby me, did I not specifically tell you not to call me. I was told this was urgent so if this is about my lingerie so help me you will…”
“Baby, I printed a copy of that e-mail.” He takes a pause as he hears her inward gasp. “That you sent me and have no clue where it printed from.”
He can hear her typing and that in itself is strange. “Let me get this straight. Oliver Jonas Queen you at work printed out a private picture?”
He made a groan she was super mad by calling him his whole name like she was talking to a child. “Yes.”
“You also sent to the wrong printer?”
“Yes.”
He can hear her feverously typing in the background and he sees she is now in his computer visually moving around folders and files going to his recent transactions. How she can bypass security is quite scary sometimes and she locks on the printer location. As she about to speak another voice is heard from the doorway.
“I swear to you Queen. I am not amused.” Quentin Lance is in the room after shutting the door behind him the younger man was about to get an earful.
Quentin holding up a vivid picture that had Oliver swipe from his hand right after he had put Felicity on speakerphone, it was a quick moment jumping from behind his desk dashing to get that picture.
“Felicity is a very attractive woman but I consider her like a daughter so stop giving me mental issues.”
“Hello Quentin.” Her voice chipped with anger. “It seems…”
“It seems both of you.” He gives Oliver a stare down. “Extra nightly time activities landed on my desk, almost gave me a heart attack.”
“I’m sorry Quentin.” Oliver finally said.
“You should be. There are people who would pay for a Felicity Smoak lingerie picture. It would become a scandal that the mayor does not need.”
Oliver just nods he really can’t say much he’s in the wrong and even the thought of sharing this picture with Smoak fanboys made him irate.
“Your right, it won’t happen again.”
“Your damn straight it better never happen again.” He leaves fuming.
Oliver goes back to sitting behind the desk he hasn’t heard his girl say a word since Quentin and his exchange, picking up the phone.
“Felicity?”
“I’m here. So have you learned your lesson?”
“Umm…”
“Oliver?”
“Okay, okay but maybe if I…”
“Well baby I hope you can handle Quentin.” She says in a sweet but he knows it’s anything but. “I’ll see you later. Hope you survive, love you.”
“Love you.” And she hangs up leaving him to ponder what she was getting at.
Quentin enters his office and as he sits down the printer goes back online and he thinks nothing of it as he goes to check and he grumbles, “You have got to be kidding me. Queen I am going to murder you!”

REVIEW: Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Silver Eyes
(The FNAF Novel)
Spoiler FREE Review:
If you’re a fan of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, are interested in the lore of Freddy Fazbear’s, or would like to see what will probably pave the way for the FNAF movie, then give this a read.
It has a few flaws of course, some more glaring than others in my opinion, but for most of them, I’m able to look past it. The story does enough dancing towards what we really want to see to keep my attention until the climax of the book where it gets really awesome. The backstories are interesting enough, and the background information stirs more lore around enough to make it simple yet complicated, as it always has been. You can glean anything from this novel.
Pick this up from your local library if you don’t wanna shell out the bucks. (That’s where I got mine.)
SPOILER Review:
If you’re reading this far, you’ve probably read the novel yourself, or don’t care to read it and just wanna know more.
Writing Style: An easy read, simple and straight forward, great for the inevitable kids that have been reading it. (Sometimes it’s a little too simple at times tho. This is just my nitpick, but I have very strong feelings against descriptive text using the word “sudden” or “suddenly”. I find it glaringly obvious whenever a literary piece uses those.)
Story: The story takes place ten years after the missing children incident at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. It focuses on the survivors from that time who are all now teenagers, and they work together to accidentally put an end to the mysterious case. It’s a good setup for what we need, making sure that our protagonists are not just random teens who go “Lol let’s mess around in a haunted pizza restaurant!” They actually have history and reason being involved, even if they were technically screwing around while doing it. (Teens, amirite??)
Main Character: Charlie (or more formally Charlotte) was not only friends with one of the victims at Freddy’s, but also the daughter of the man who created Freddy’s to begin with. Her father was an artist whose life was dedicated to his work, and was never all there. The reason for his absence is pretty disturbing, but despite all this, Charlie is a completely normal girl. Yeah, someone with that messed up of a backstory and she’s just kind of normal. The idea is she’s supposed to be, she is a main character after all. She’s interesting because of her family and her past and her childhood, but as a teen, she’s not really allowed to be too interesting.
Supporting Protagonists: For the most part, all of these characters are vastly… uninteresting. They’re normal teenagers, all of them. They don’t have too many varying traits and they all for the most part have flat personalities. And there are a lot of them. Including Charlie, there are seven of these main characters. It makes for good buddy system scenes, but otherwise, why are there so many to try and keep track of? After acknowledging how many there were, I said to myself, “My my, what an abundance of underdeveloped characters in a horror setting! I wonder how many will be killed off by the end!” None. None of these characters get axed off during the course of the book. Some get injured a little bit, but none of the teens die. I guess I’m happy for them, but is it wrong I’m a little disappointed?
Antagonist: Awesome. Spoiler warning again, it’s Dave the guard. Spoilers again, Dave is an alias for the infamous William Afton, who was the business head of Freddy’s Entertainment. His backstory is one I find perplexing, as the book describes him as being a hefty man, ten years prior to the current story, while now he’s rather skinny and sickly. Not saying a guy can’t workout over the course of ten years, but that’s a pretty huge detail. Some of the story clues from Five Nights at Freddy’s Sister Location sort of has an explanation for this, as well as why he may be a serial killer, but The Silver Eyes is the alternate universe. It’s up in the air right now what information from the games we can depend on and what we can’t. (I’m getting off track, I love talking about the lore too much.)
Dave is an absolutely delightful villain. His dialogue is always so worth it to read, and his presence is dripping with the sadism we love to imagine him having. He’s deliciously evil and often times giggle worthy, with how he uses a kid’s restaurant as his battle ground and animal costumes as his weapons. Predictably, the amount of silly that his demeanor invokes makes for a pretty fake sounding story to any law enforcement. Serial Killer Pro-Tip: The sillier, the better. (#dontbeaserialkillertho)
The Good: The climax was easily the most interesting and fun part to read, where the screen time (read time?) for Dave really increased and then crap got real. The highlights are easily where the animatronics FINALLY come to life and start going after the main cast, and the part where Charlie straight up knocks Dave out cold, and the crew later tie him up, pour water on his face, and interrogate the guy. MMMM mm, fantastic.
OH ALSO my favorite character, besides William Afton/Dave, is Carlton. He sasses death in the face of death. Good job, Carlton.
The Bad: I wouldn’t say the book took its sweet time getting interesting or anything, I’ve read worse. The chapters begin with a bit of a hook, (HYUK HYUK GET IT??) and then drop into the story of Charlie herself, spending time explaining why she’s meeting up with her old friends first and foremost. The chapters seem to alternate between two things. First, the protagonists and how they have an uncomfortable past with Freddy’s because their friend was a victim, and how no one wants to talk about it. Second, the protagonists talking about the tragic past anyway AND sneaking into the abandoned restaurant and screwing around like teenagers do. It’s a pretty clever way to get the reader into the restaurant really early on, and frequently, for that matter, so props to that. But overall, the scenes outside of the pizza place or outside of Charlie’s childhood home aren’t that gripping. It feels like what it is; teasing the reader with just enough of the restaurant to keep their attention during the long ride to the climax when things get crazy and awesome.
The Ugly: The point of this book is to either expand on the lore or reach farther from it, generating new lore. (Since I assume that the novel is paving a way for the film.) I wouldn’t say this book had a lot of filler, but it still had a lot of vastly unimportant details.
I think the biggest crime this book committed was the scene where Jessica is telling Charlie about some past boyfriend she had. Sure, the story is kind of humorous, but it doesn’t add anything to the universe. Sure, we should know more backstory about our main characters, but honestly? I learned more about Jessica’s ex than I did Jessica in that scene. Unless future books reveal him to be Afton’s son, that was a pretty huge waste of a couple of pages in my opinion. (Disclaimer: I was just joking with last part, omg. But now Sister Location actually has something about Afton's son and I'm really salty about it.)
That’s it. I’m glad I read it. I was starting to lose interest in the FNAF universe, as FNAF4 and Sister Location didn’t light that spark in me as I was hoping. Although The Silver Eyes isn’t the most captivating piece of FNAF lore, it made me redo all my research from all the previous games to try to once again piece everything together. The theories and lore are of course my favorite thing about the franchise. The FNAF novel was the boost I needed to remember my passion for the series.

Conversations | Helène Aylon & Feminism: A Fiscally Sponsored Artist at the 2017 Jerusalem Biennale
Tumblr media
“Art history has been one incomplete truth, which makes it a lie.”
As the conclusion to a 20-year NYFA Fiscally Sponsored project, “G-d Project: Nine Houses Without Women,” Helène Aylon’s exhibition, Afterword: For the Children is now on view at the 2017 Jerusalem Biennale. Aylon is a prominent American visual artist and feminist and her exhibition forcefully confronts the Second Commandment (specifically “I Thy God, will visit the sins of the fathers onto the children—to the third or fourth generation of those who hate me”) as if to reclaim children and their future from an underlying and sustained patriarchy within Jewish texts.
Under the title of Watershed, this year’s Biennale presents works that add to the conversation of Contemporary Jewish Art and signify both the splits and convergences between individuals and groups. Aylon’s work not only literally extends the Watershed metaphor as they reflect tears of the children but also suggests the partitions and inequalities that exist in our society today.
Along with fresh insights on Aylon’s participation in this year’s Jerusalem Biennale, we are delighted to re-share an interview with Aylon back in early 2016, where we celebrated her achievements in the art world for Women’s History Month.
Title: Helène Aylon’s exhibition Afterword: For the Children at the 2017 Jerusalem Biennale Exhibition Dates: Now through November 15, 2017 Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Where: Hamachtarot Museum (Museum of Underground Prisoners), Rehov Mishol Hagvura 1, Russian Compound, Jerusalem, 9131401
Tumblr media
NYFA: Central to the Jerusalem Biennale is the question of whether there is such a genre or concept of “contemporary Jewish art.” Do you consider your own work in that category?
Helène Aylon: I do not consider my own work “contemporary Jewish art.” My work merely looks to “rescue” myself from patriarchy wherever it comes close to me. In the 70s, with my process paintings, “The Breakings,” I challenged the playboy culture with images of the body as visceral—because the body leaks and sweats and shrivels and gives birth, etc. It makes one live or die. In the 80s, I sought to face the Arms Race which was also cowboy-esque with its male rivalry acting out which faction had the bigger stockpile of arms. This sickness inspired the Earth Ambulance. In the 90’s, I had to look at my own orthodox Jewish upbringing and schooling, and I sought to liberate G-d from the projection of my patriarchal forefathers who also dismissed the precious history of my foremothers.
Now, in my current appendage to my 20-year “The G-d Project: Nine Houses Without Women," my addendum currently at the Jerusalem Biennale is called Afterword: For the Children. I am distraught that the Second Commandment of The Ten Commandments states, “I Thy God, will visit the sins of the fathers onto the children—to the third or fourth generation of those who hate me.”
Therefore, as it were, I am “rescuing" G-d from the patriarchy!
NYFA: Your work engages with and at times poses as opposites themes of Jewish orthodoxy and feminism. Is there a relationship between these two themes? Are they opposites?
HA: I am being a detective, so to speak—searching for the anonymous prayers and traditions that have no authorship—and imagining that these were written and inspired and made into a female tradition by the foremothers. For example, lighting the Sabbath candles is not prescribed in “The Five Books of Moses.”
NYFA: Since beginning your career in 1960’s New York, you witnessed transformations to the art scene, the fabric of the city and cultural perceptions of feminism. How have such social and cultural changes influenced your studio practice? What do you think the landscape for emerging artists is today, in comparison to when you began exhibiting work?
HA: Emerging women artists have more opportunity to be seen and hopefully will change the culture if they see the legacy bestowed upon them with appreciation.
The greatest nonviolent revolution has been feminism. I am focusing on the tragedy of lost foremothers we will never know and what their great contributions might have been. I see myself as a future foremother. Art history has been one incomplete truth, which makes it a lie.
NYFA: In a June 2017 article titled "Why Old Women Have Replaced Young Men as the Art World's Darlings," there is talk about the growing, commercial interest of older women in the art world. Do you think this is evidence of gender equity and a success of feminism?
HA: Yes, this is delayed consciousness raising! It has taken a long long time to catch on, but once it goes click, the obvious reality cannot be overlooked.
Tumblr media
NYFA: You began taking courses at Brooklyn College when your daughter entered kindergarten. What fueled your decision to study art and how did your mother and father respond?
HA: My mother would rave about the birthday cards and Jewish New Year cards I designed for her and would introduce me as her “daughter the artist” to distinguish me from my two younger sisters. I knew that my mother surely had a different concept of art. Perhaps she thought it might even be a plus when I came of marriageable age! But her designation, no matter the derivation, was encouragement enough for me.
I yearned to express myself and live my life on my terms. Before, I did what my parents dictated, what my teachers dictated, what my late husband dictated, what the community dictated and thus [this is] what my children came to expect. Art would be something they could not dictate.
I played down my secret thrill of attending Brooklyn College as an art student, though I felt much older than the other students. In this way my father could rationalize that I was getting a college degree so I could teach art and get a job.
NYFA: How did you support your children and negotiate the demands of motherhood with your work as an artist?
HA: Always my children came first and my art came next, but the art would not be compromised.
I tried a NY Times ad: working at an ad agency. I soon got fired. I tried to get a job as a guard in the Metropolitan Museum but they saw right through me. I applied for grants. I got into one of the first SoHo galleries, Max Hutchinson Gallery. Then, before my exodus to California, I signed up with Betty Parsons Gallery.
I taught for a few years in San Francisco State University which was my excuse for getting far away. I would sublet my studio when in San Francisco and also when I went to retreats such as Yaddo, Macdowell, VCCA, to avoid paying rent and still have a place to make art.
My uncle thought I should design wallpaper, my late husband’s teacher thought I could fake an accent and get a job advertising on TV. I would feign interest but ignore these "practical” suggestions [and] continue to struggle.
After my job was over and I did not get tenure at San Francisco State (see my memoir for why!), I no longer could afford the studio where I created the liquid sacks that broke. Nuclear America became my studio when I drove the Earth Ambulance to ‘rescue’ the earth from nuclear military sites in pillowcase sacks.
It was never smooth sailing and the situation has barely improved, even now, after getting a Lifetime Achievement Award on my 85th birthday last month. My small studio has become a storage space. I am now able to create art around activist work, but I have not a clue how to find a gallery. Betty Parsons found me and so did Max Hutchinson and Susan Caldwell. What gallerist will find me now?????
Tumblr media
NYFA: The obstacles you faced and are currently battling seem to resonate with other artists. Where do you find the motivation to sustain your practice?
HA: I am motivated to learn for myself in ways that only art can teach.
NYFA: What artists inspired your work when you were beginning to make art and what artists are you looking at now?
HA: Then, my teacher at Brooklyn College was Ad Reinhardt, who did not teach but made me think. There is no “how to” and each artist must find the answers in oneself or ask the questions to oneself. But what gets me going is where I left off in my own last piece.
Now I like to look at Agnes Martin who said that “helplessness is the natural state for an artist and this is a good thing.” I relate to Ana Mendieta and dedicated my installation Wrestlers to her. I am drawn to Mierle Ukeles (who in the early ‘80s jokingly called herself and me “Mitzva Artists”), William Kentridge, Martha Rosler, Maya Linn, Bill Viola, and then there is Glenn Ligon… In 1996 Glenn Ligon wrote to me that he liked my "austerity” in The Liberation of G-d. But I am so blown away by his emotional splotches in his work. I wish I did not have to contain myself politely when it comes to my emotions about the misogyny and the erasure of the female. But I must “austerely” allow the viewer to be the Midrashist as the text I use is scripture, which is supposedly the words of G-d…
Tumblr media
NYFA: “The G-D Project” has been fiscally sponsored since 1999. The work explores the way God has been used in the Old Testament to reflect patriarchal characteristics. Why did you initially seek sponsorship and how has sponsorship made this project possible? How did “The G-D Project” evolve over the past seventeen years?
HA: It was hard to deal with this very personal subject matter. G-d can be a potentially inflammable volatile subject. Calling it a “project” through NYFA neutralized it so that it could be looked at as an artwork. Furthermore, seeing G-d through a feminist lens became tagged as theological which made it easier to absorb. These subtle factors took away any sermonic stance that brings out tensions. Working through NYFA thus set the tone for exploration and radical truth-telling which is the realm of artists.
“The G-d Project” used my background to deal with feminist issues such as inequality. I find that theological feminism has not yet been dealt with, as has biological feminism and ecological feminism. The San Francisco Jewish Museum programmed “Four Rabbis and an Artist: A Talmudic Debate!" Yes, I took on Orthodox, Conservative, Reformed, and Reconstructionist rabbis! The National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia, Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, and Ackland Art Museum all programmed this debate with Rabbis from their communities. The Liberation of G-d and the Unmentionable has been the subject of a conference and the thesis of a Ph.D. and [these] theological public debates were viewed as activist performance art.
In Jerusalem women judges are forbidden to judge in the religious Court, which is the subject of All Rise. A patron has offered to pay for its transportation to Jerusalem if it will be shown in the Jerusalem Biennale in 2017. I am holding my breath as this has the potential to affect change.

Shadow of the Comet – A Friendly Little Town
Written by limbeck
So, here I am, in my not so austere room, getting to grips with the controls of the game. I can move with the arrow buttons, but only on four directions, which seems fair. Sometimes, though, you jump to the next screen by stepping at the wrong point.
Walking around the room, I notice that, as I pass close to an item, a line from my face to that object appears. Handy. I welcomed it with satisfaction at first, but I may reconsider, as it misled me into thinking that it works with all items. More on that later.
Look at my lasersight!
Fortunately, the all-keyboard interface is intuitive and not hard to grasp. You press O for objects in your inventory, U for using an item, G for getting. Even if you haven’t read the manual, you get the hang of it quickly. And that’s really it.
So, once I have perfected my baby steps, I explore the room and pick up whatever I can, which is BOLESKINE’s diary and a telegram from my provisioners. Reading the diary gives me my first clue: a 12-year-old boy had served BOLESKINE as a guide, so there is a chance he is still alive and can point me to the precise spot in the forest. Other than that, BOLESKINE clearly had a poor grasp of astronomy, not recognising the familiar constellations and just randomly inventing new ones.
The telegram was more annoying, because it said that I have to find my own photographic plates. This is critical to my mission, as Mr GRIFFITH really expects “spectacular photographs”. I hope this backwater town has a hardware store or something.
Request refund / STOP / Want speak to manager / STOP
Now that I have my first tasks, I am ready to head out to the outside world. First step is to head out of my room. I then explore the areas of the Doctor’s house that are available to me and notice some really impressive paintings around. The Doctor is not at home, so it is time to explore the town proper.
The immediate neighbours are an old barn-looking house with a bench and a locked door to the east, a forest without a guide to the west and a fancy house, also locked, to the south. The house to the south turns out to be the Mayor’s.
It’s good to be the Kin.. erm, Mayor
To the south and west of the Doctor’s house is the Pharmacy / GP’s office / hospital of the town. I see a guy with a white robe going in, so I decide to follow. Inside, I just catch a glimpse of him getting into his office, so I try to go in myself only to be stopped by a very unhelpful nurse, who is also the daughter of the busy doctor.
South of the pharmacy is the main square, which we briefly saw in our carriage trip. When I first visit, an old lady, Ms PICOTT is sitting alone, but says nothing of importance, so I leave.
One should never presume
Heading west, I arrive at the impressive (according to the description) Town Hall. The clerk in it is, as expected, unhelpful and does not let me see the Mayor, who is only accepting visitors for a few hours each week and only by appointment. I am starting to get really annoyed now. Why does nobody want to get out of their way just to indulge me? I am a visitor in their town after all. They should show some hospitality!
But I brought the forms for the animal census, and these fine leather jackets.
I decide to continue being nosy and I try the other door on the Town Hall building. Inside, it looks like a museum, with several exhibits from exotic lands. This is where I realised that my lasersight does not identify all the items that I can examine or interact with in a location. Instead, when I am close to something that looks interesting, I need to press L to examine it. So, before I continued, I went to all the other locations I had visited and furiously examined everything, but I mainly got background information.
A few minutes later, I am back at the museum, where I discover a lost page from BOLESKINE’s diary. It describes how the stars are really a pistol rifle shot away and closes with a quote from J.Keats: “Truth sleeps beneath appearance”. The remaining art is just flavour text, or so it seems for the moment.
Some of Parker’s lines have these “good lord” and “Oh my”, I suspect for added Englishness.
So, I continue into the door I can see to the north and into the Archives, where I meet the Master of Archives himself. He introduces himself as Tobias JUGG and he is the first person that seems genuinely excited to talk to me. Of course, true to the character of this little town, he already knows who I am. I ignore that and try to get in his good books, which I succeed by striking a conversation and proving my own love for books, by correctly recognising Shakespeare’s quote. I leave him for now and head to a nearby table, where a I search through a ledger and note down three names of men who were 12 years old when Boleskine visited. The names are Curtis HAMBLETON, William COLDSTONE and Thomas GREENWOOD.
Looking over my shoulder, JUGG confirms that all three of them are alive and gives me directions to their houses. I speak to him a bit more, engineering my responses so that they appeal to his love of literature and history. He appreciates that and invites me to his house for a chat later. He also says that he has a large library on local legends, which the locals believed in until recently. After that, he heads out and I leave the Archives.
I continue wandering the town and revisit some of the areas I was before. I notice that there is a couple sitting outside of the house to the east of Dr COBBLES house, which I now know belongs to one of the three people I am looking for. However, Mr GREENWOOD is deaf, mute and blind from an accident during his birth. This makes it very hard for him to be the one I am looking for. The other half of the couple is Miss PICOTT, whom we met earlier. She maintains her unhelpfulness and we move on.
Fortunately for you, he cannot see that smirk when you say that.
Some more wandering later, I arrive outside of the Dead Horse Inn, a name that seems oddly suitable to this town. Outside is Jed DONAHUE, who also knows who I am. News travel quickly in this part of the world. Not that they have to travel too far. Jed was complaining about…, but he didn’t offer anything else other than some more background. Inside the tavern, there is even more unhelpfulness. A group of card players in one table does not want to be disturbed, but is gossiping about RENATO, apparently a misled youth who doesn’t know better. The bartender is ruder than average and does not open up even after I pay an extortionist’s fee of $1 for his watered-down beer.
Dealing with customers: How not to
My little trek around the village then brings me to the post office. As I walk in, I see a map of the area and I hear some heavy object being rolled above. The lady behind the counter mentions that the DONAHUE boy (I presume Jed’s son) is sick and that she really has a lot of work to do. Clearly, she is only bothered by me and not by all the clatter right above her head. I leave.
Yes, like rearrange those mail sacks by the wall
Eager for some intelligent conversation, I head to JUGG’s house. At the entrance hall wall hangs a rifle, which, upon closer examination, turns out to be Lord BOLESKINE’s own rifle. I wonder how it ended up at the doctor’s house. However, despite his invitation earlier, Mr JUGG does not have any more insights to offer so I leave him alone.
Anyway, I keep exploring dutifully and I finally find the town’s general store. I enter from the south and I see the proprietor, Mr MYERS, dealing with a client. A hooded figure who apparently is in the business of direct parcels. He has left one with Mr MYERS, who informs him that another one he sent to some Mrs GUILDCHRIST was delivered successfully. I don’t know who that lady is, but I know the name the wooded figure goes by. HAMBLETON. To be fair, I was a bit careless at the time and I did not remember that HAMBLETON was one of the three people I was looking for. Anyway, the figure walks out, either on a limp or quirky animation, and I can speak to the shop owner.
Maybe townsfolk go to the general store for their mail because the post office is always “too busy”
I go directly to the point and ask for photosensitive plates, which he delivers with delight. Not only that, but he suggests trying them out first and, if they are not good any more, he will reimburse me. Now, that’s what I call good customer service.
Dealing with customers: How to
Loaded with my new plates, I head out from the north door and arrive at the square again. Heading west a few screens, I end up at the abandoned fishery that HAMBLETON lives in. Before getting in, I pick up a rope ladder, because who knows when I will need to go down a cave or something.
Inside, the place is a proper mess. My delicate British nostrils cannot stand the stench, but I persist nonetheless. The fishery has absolutely nothing of value, but I discover a loose floorboard used to hide moonshine and an old man sleeping on a pallet in a corner. As I creepily watch him sleep, I notice that his fingers are webbed, like a frog’s. I feel fascinated, and a bit lightheaded, but I compose myself and decide to speak to the old man.
Subtle
Curtis HAMBLETON tells me that he indeed took Lord BOLESKINE in the forest, at a place with a cross. On the third day, BOLESKINE was painting / sketching when he saw a “thing”. I also learn of another name: WILBUR. He is HAMBLETON’s brother and probably very important. He apparently cursed CURTIS who ended up living in these squalid conditions. WILBUR is still alive as well and he says that in 3 days the comet will come back, and the THING as well. That’s just superstition, right?
After this conversation, poor Curtis goes back to sleep and I am left to think of my next steps, now that I have my plates and a potential guide that does not want to be a guide. I must also note that the Mr HAMBLETON I saw at the general store is most likely Wilbur, Curtis’ brother and he seems to hold some position of power in Illsmouth. I smell a cult, built on superstition and the old legends.
But we’ll have to find these out next time. I did not make much progress in the game, but I enjoyed walking around the town and familiarising myself with the locations. The outline of the city is logical and I never really felt lost, except for the time in the forest, which I assume was intentional. So far, the game does well in letting me play the stranger moving into a small, closed society, which doesn’t really like having anybody poking into its secrets. It may seem stereotypical, but it works. In the next post, I will try to get into that spot in the forest and get some photos taken.
Some other interesting locations that will probably become important later:
N. TYLER’s house is to the north of the pharmacy. It smells nicely of hot soup, but of course it is locked. Suspicious little town.
There is a well that is standing on its own, but I cannot interact with it at the moment.
The way to the port in which I arrived, is blocked by two burly guys.
The cemetary is a blast of fun, according to JUGG.
In the house south of Mr JUGG’s, I see somebody going in and moving on the top floor, snooping at me from the window. Yet, when I knocked, nobody replied.
There is also an abandoned mansion, with nothing to do.
END notes – CD ROM version
Somehow, addition of mouse control makes the game more frustrating. You do not click where you want to go and let the character find his way there. Instead, you hold down the left button and the character moves in the direction the mouse is with respect to him, but again only in the four main directions. You cannot mouse over items either, which makes me wonder why they bothered at all with adding mouse, other than to not seem backward. Outdoors, there is an option to go to a location using the map.
Time played: 1:30 Sanity lost: 1 (from seeing HAMBLETON’s webbed fingers)

Gendrya and Why I think they are endgame in the show.
First I want to start with their background. And why I think D/D is shocking the audience so much with this change in Arya’s character. Well reason is super simple CAUSE THEY NEVER BODER TO READ THE F.ING BOOKS. Uff that was a handful.
Arya is one of George RR Martin original 5 characters. Which means he created this characters and their arcs first and then he created the rest to compliment their plot. This characters are Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, Tyrion Lannister, and Bran Stark. And D/D felt to make 3 out of this 5 characters miserably which are Jon, Arya and Bran. They are complex emotionally characters.
Arya in the books and in the show ( which I don’t understand why people don’t get this) Arya never became a faceless woman. She gain the knowledge, abilities, and skills but didn’t passed the test that is why they send the waif after her. Arya kills ONLY the people that have hurt someone she loved. Every single person she has kill has been involved in the death or disappearance of one of her friends or family member. Arya in the books is attack to her emotional side a lot, and the person that mostly thinks of is Jon. She misses him the most and thinks about him, and wanting to be with him all the time. So when D/D decide to make Arya a coldness psychopath it made me so angry because it disrespect all of the work George had put into Arya’s psychological, and emotional description. So to me someone that is facinated with Arya’s character in the books and has pay close attention to her POV and what other characters say about her it didn’t surprised me at all this “change” in her character this season.
Okay enough about Arya let’s focus on the show only cause I think this is where were we actually get more clues as to why Gendry and Arya will end up together.
1. Robert Baratheon Quote to Ned in the Crypts of Winterfell.
“ We were meant to RULE Together. If your SISTER had lived we had been bound by BLOOD....But it is NOT TOO LATE. I have SON, you have a DAUGHTER we will JOIN our Houses”
At the time they were obviously talking about Sansa and Joffrey but as we all know Sansa never even came close to marrying a Baratheon or even meeting one. In fact Robbert never had any legitimate son ever introduced in court. Joffrey, Marcella, and Tommen were the only known Baratheon yet we know they were actually pure Lannisters. The only character that was introduced to a son of Robbert was Arya. And I found it curious how the only child Robbert asked it’s name was to Arya and the scene when ned meets Gendry is exactly the same facial expressions from both Robbert and Ned towards Arya and Gendry. And this is how their relationship started. Gendry was very protective of Arya. And even if Arya annoyed him he was always not too far from her, and willing to intervene or act in order to protect her. We saw it in in the King’s road when traveling with Yoren, Harrenhal, and also while they were in the cave with the brotherhood.
Also another quote from ned that everyone practically crucified Arya with was
“ you will marry a HIGH LORD and RULE his castle. And your children would be knights, Princess and lords and even High Septon”
And she reply with “ no that is not me” there is a lot of curious things to take into consideration here. First in the books it doesn’t say HiGH LoRd it says KiNG. So D/D changed king to high lord. Which at the time when they said that how can Arya married a KING if her sister was engaged to the future king of Westeros and Ned was aware of that fact. They changed in the show to high lord. So Arya wouldn’t married just any lord. A high lord in a lord from one of the greater houses of Westeros( Starks, Tyrell, Arryn, Targaryen, Baratheon, Tully, Greyjoy and Lannister) so this was the first foreshadow that D/D threw us for Gendry and Arya since they change that Arya wasn’t going to marry a king but a high lord.
The second curious part is the Rule part. Going back to what Robbert told ned about Lyanna and him “ we were meant to RULE together” nes said Arya will rule her lord husband’s castle which in Westerosi society the wife doesn’t do much, only takes care of seventy and the educations and care of the children the rest all falls into the lord’s responsibilities. So Robbert said that he would have rule with Lyanna not have her by his side but ruling along with him. If we go back to what Arya and Ned where talking about before she said that wasn’t her. She spoke of wanting to be a KNIGHT or LORD herself because she doesn’t identied with the “LADY “ role that sociaty dictates to women. So we have seen Gendry and Arya’s interactions seen the very beginning we got this sense of Gendry just following this girl around. Trusting her moves and strategies even when he was older than her. When they made love Gendry acted and looked like the one that was inexperience that is because he allow and trusted Arya to lead and do what she wanted with him, all he cared was that she was comfortable and enjoying as much as he was allowing her to take the wheel. If Gendry and Arya were to be put into a lord and lady situation Arya would be the one to Rule over Gendry. Which confirms what Ned said about Arya’s future husband.
Lyanna Stark and Arya Stark comparison.
In the books we get two quotes one from ned and one from bran that Arya and Lyanna looked exactly like yet we got from more than once saying how Arya and Lyanna share the same personality. They both had what ned called
“ the wolf blood”
But in the show D/D found an actress that looked similar not to kit Harrington but Maisie Williams. So they carefully picked Lyanna so that she would look like Arya. Why would d/d do this if they didn’t want to reinforce the story of Lyanna and Robbert.
Lyanna was just like Arya while growing up. Except with the difference that Ned allow Arya things Lyanna’s father didn’t allow her. Like ned getting her a dancing teacher. Ned got Arya a dancing teacher because he felt like he didn’t want to make the same mistake his father did with his sister and allow Arya’s wildness to roam free. Both loved sword fighting and riding horses. Both had the stark rare beauty. That blossom in late teens instead as children like Sansa. But their beauty was Unique and rare because in the books we get a man from bravos offering Arya to become a courtesan and that with beauty she will have man fighting over her maiden blood. Much like what Lyanna’s beauty cost the kingdom.
Not just hat but they felt for the same KIND of man. And lost their maidenhead with the one they CHOSE to to it with.
Rhegar was gentle and soft spoken much like Gendry.
When Arya lost her virginity is also a connection to Rhegar/Lyanna/Robbert triangle. When Arya started to interrogate Gendry about his past sexual experiences she wanted to know what place she will use in Gendry love life. If Gendry would care about him being the first man she lay with. If he saw the “honor” Arya was giving him. Also when Arya was counting gave us a reference to Robbert Baratheon “ ladies man history”
“1...2...20” Robbert Baratheon sired 20 bastard outside of his marriage with Cersei.
Lyanna didn’t like that about Robbert. So she picked a man that was gentle and would care about her maidenhead given to him.
Rhegar wanted to proof himself to Lyanna that she meant something to him. He married her even if meant a rebellion will break. Gendry after taking Arya’s maidenhead he propose to Arya and pay attention to what Gendry told Arya. He said three interesting things. First he said that she was beautiful. Hot pie told Arya she was pretty, the Lannister soldiers told her she was nice but they tried to say to her she was pretty too. Cause Gendry used the word good first to describe Arya’s appreciate. They are trying to move forward in Arya’s transformation to this rare beauty her aunt Lyanna was. Also by using beautiful Gendry is also referring to her inside. He also said I LOVE YOU.
Which Maisie Williams said that when she shot her last scene in season 3 with Joe Dempsie the director told her to say “ I Could be your family” like she was telling Gendry I love you with the same emotional weight of the word. So now D/D decide to throw in the actually word but this time have Gendry said it.
The next thing Gendry said to Arya was “ None of it would mean anything if your are not with me. So be with me?” This quote sounds familiar to the quote Robber told Cersei.
“ all I know she (Lyanna) was the one thing that I ever wanted it . Someone took her from me and seven kingsdome couldn’t feel the whole she left behind” Robbert told this to Cersei when Cersei asked if there has ever been a chance in the long run of their marriage where Robbert felt something for her and Robbert said no. It sounds the same of what Gendry told Arya about the lordship, and lads and the power couldn’t mean anything if she wasn’t there to lived it with him. And this is where it hurts my heart because he said the same thing his father said about Lyanna. A lot of people are how can he love they just reunited like 3 days ago. Unlike any other couple EvER in game of thrones Arya and Gendry have history together not like boyfriend and girlfriend but friends. They were traveling partners first then they turned in friends and then into each other shoulder and then they tear them away from the other. Arya added 3 people to her list do to Gendry being taken away from her. Melisandre, Thoros and Beric. If Arya didn’t care about gendry she wouldn’t have asked him to go to Riverrun with her or for him to work for her brother Robb. Gendry feels that love her since long time because Arya was the only person who show him respect even when she was highborn and he wasn’t Arya hated that Gendry would lower himself just because she had “ high lord’s name” that is why Gendry doesn’t see much of that “ highborn” life without Arya. Because every other highborn he come close to threaten like crap. So Arya is the only female he had ever meet that made him feel worth something even when he had nothing.
He asked her to be his wife. Which I found so cute because no one has done that before. To get in one knee and asked for the hand of the woman they want to take. They usually get their brides ship off to their “new Home” and yeah let the lord’s family take the whee from there. Even woman aren’t buried in their actual family crypts they are buried in their husband family crypts. That is sad. So Gendry gave Arya to wring impression of what he wanted. Arya doesn’t want to lose her freedom, her wildness, her wolf blood. But she doesn’t know that Gendry is a bit brute to talk he wouldn’t remember his freaking bastard name right. He was nervous not drunk just anxious. But he loves that wildness her, he feels very sexually attracted to Arya. And we see it in the forge scene when Arya talks to him about knowing and stuff. You can see the sexual tension from her to him and from him to her. So he wants this new. His body desires this new Arya bite the love has always been there. Now obviously with sexual convinded. Which differentiate a man liking a woman as a friend or liking a woman for as life partner. You don’t sleep with friends. So I found it quite interesting how they played their relationship this season. But what I loved was that even though Arya told gendry the truth she is not a lady [westeros definition of a lady] she didn’t say she didn’t want to marry him. She answer him with a kiss. And not just any kiss. The kiss was felt and gentle. She savored the kiss and she kept her eyes close the entire time just like he did. And I don’t know if I’m reading to much into it but when Gendry kneel in front of Arya and asked her. Arya kneel with him and as they kiss they rises together. Like Arya lowering herself could mean she sees him as equal and they will rises together as lord and lady of Storm ends. Which I think it will happened because the music got louder as raised. All their kisses have been gently, felt, and reciprocated. Both of them shared the want and they both seem content in other’s arms. And most important Arya didn’t say no. Just like when they made love people were like ohh Arya didn’t enjoy it. She didn’t want it. No Arya is thinking of what she needs to do still. Yeah she kill the night king but she told the hound “ it felt better than dying” she did it because she was there and the opportunity came. But it wasn’t who she has target. The person that cause more damage to her family were the Lannister Joffrey, and Cersei. She was going to kill cersei but learn of Jon being alive and king in the north and pick her pack over her agenda. But now her pack is safe and she is going to finish her unfinish business in capital. So she needs to have her head cold and not bring gebdry into the mixing pot. She knows that the golden cloaks wanted gebdry dead way before she knew why. So she fears for Gendry and what Cersei would do if she finds out that there is a legitimate Baratheon heir. And since ned in episode 6 of season 1 he changed Robbert will to legitimate heir it would cancel right to the throne. She took the throne after Tommen because there wouldn’t any other Baratheon alive to take the throne. So Gendry is even a bigger threat to Cersei than Daenerys.
Also we didn’t get an after scene or even a description of the scene in the making of episode and I think is because it hasn’t end yet for them. If arc is over they would speak about it. But they didn’t and it was fairy important since it was a proposal to unite two mayor houses. But they didn’t talked about because it would give it away.
Now somethings that also help as a foreshadow.
Nymeria and her pack of wolves. Jon gave away ghost and he told tourmud something “ direwolf don’t belong in the south”
you know nothing, Jon Snow. Nymeria settle down as pup in the Riverlands and she created a pack of her own when she lost her mistress and her litter mates. She wonder on her own much like Arya did in the Riverlands and settle down with cousin wolves. Not direwolves like her in a land that dorewolves aren’t familiar to roam around. Here is why Nymeria was able to that. Nymeria was named after Queen Nymeria of Qoer from Essos. She was a WARRIOR QUEEN. She brought her people from across the narrow sea. Just like Arya came from Bravos turn into a warrior. Queen Nymeria married into the martell house. She knew the importance of the survival of her people so she married into a house and lived got family in land that wasn’t hers. That is why in the Dorne like Oberyn and Ellia told Cersei and Tywin how they don’t discriminate bastards in Dorne that the sand children aren’t looked down upon like in the rest of Westeros because of Queen Nymeria’s influences from Essos. Nymeria creates her pack because it was necessary for her as alpha shewolf . Arya did the same she took Gendry, Lommy and Hotpie as her pack. But eventually she would have the necessary of creating a new pack. And this time it would be just like Nymeria did with someone who isn’t a direwolve like her. “Direwolves don’t belong in the south” Arya survive the south, Nymeria survive the south. Queen Nymeria settle down in another continent and married even though she was a warrior queen. Nymeria settle down in the Riverlands. Even a shewolf leading her. Arya just left winterfell saying she will never come back and she will settle down in a new land just like queen Nymeria and just like her direwolf. She will settle in the storm end’s yet she would the head she wolf of her new pack that she will create with Gendry.
Also in the winterfell aftermath promo we see Needle left behind. At the time we didn’t know what the places was and everyone thought Arya was going to died and she ended being the hero. Well that storage room is the same storage room where Gendry and Arya made love. And if we go back to what needle represents in the books to Arya and also in the show. Needle was winterfell, her family and Jon’s smile. Needle was Arya Stark of Winterfell. Needle being left behind in that promo in that room could mean that Arya will leave her stark name behind. Which also connects to what the person that dresses the cast said about Arya’s outfit during season 7 and 8 Arya is not dress completely like a Stark because she won’t be a Stark for much long.
Also in the scene with Arya and Gendry making love I noticed that Arya before setting down on top of him told him “ I’m not the red woman take your own bloody pants off” this means two things that Arya is not forcing him to participate if he doesn’t want to and also calls back to maybe Arya taking something some Gendry just like the red woman did. Which was blood. Which if I’d go back to what Robbert told ned about him and Lyanna he said if your sister had lived we had been bound by BLOOD. Which means a child. Just like Daenerys could pregnant with Jon Arya has the same chances. And just Lyanna got pregnant from the man she lost her maidenhead too.
Also another call back to season 1 when the Starks find the direwolf mama (Stark) was cross by Stag (Baratheon)
And last but not least. In the aftermath of their love making. What is covering Arya’s breast and womb is Gendry’s cloak which in Westeros the cloak on woman means taking that woman into tour home under your name.
The hound being the one to encourage the change in Arya.
The hound had some interesting talks in episode 4 with Sansa, gebdry and Arya.
The one quote that call my attention was his conversations with Gendry. “ the dead are dead you are not”
The hound and Arya will take the mountain together. Because they complement what the other lacks. Arya doesn’t have the strength of brutal force to take down the mountain but she has the speed and the skills to do it which the hound doesn’t. I think they will be the ones to clear the path for Jaime to kill Cersei and fulfill the profecy. But I think the hound will be wounded during the fight and this time Arya will grant him the gift of mercy that she denied him the first time. This fight with the mountain was foreshadow when hound fought against Brienne and lost. Also the hound said to Arya.
“ are you going to LEAVE ME if I get HURT?” And Arya responded “possibly” which foreshadows that Arya this time wont leave him and will grant him the mercy that she didn’t the first time around. And just like the conversation that they have prior to her leaving him was to encourage her to take out that mirderous anger out and kill. This time he will encourage her to live her life of killing behind just like he did. He fought for her and common good after she left him.
“The dead are dead. You are not” he will make her see that the no more reason for her to live a lonely life like he did. She has someone waiting her. She still has family. She needs to live and put death and revenge behind her. So I think that is why they team them up. Because basically in the books the hound still “ dead” so his arc is finish so far. But d/d gave a purpose just like they did to Beric Dondarion. They needed to protect Arya. Arya didn’t seem happy and seem deep though as they left. And that is where the “torn” comes that Maisie Williams said Arya would feel. She loves Gendry but she won’t rest until she knows of her loves are safe.
That is why I think they will meet again. Probably by the end of episode 5. Arya is going in through the tunnels and as we remember the tunnels lead out to the place where Arya and Gendry meet back in season one. So if Arya escapes through the same tunnels it would be very poetic to come across Gendry in the same place where all begin for them. Gendry will see a completely different Arya. And if not then episode 6 at the beginning and it starts with the grown that were seen at the premiere in NYC. One of the growns is made for Maisie Williams measurement. The others I don’t know cause weaterosi wedding dress very from kingdom to kingdom. But this one call my attention because it is made based on song in the books.
The song is call feather bed. This song appears only in Arya’s POV and is a scene where she meets with Gendry again. The song is play in the hall of acorn. And Arya is dress in pretty dress with acorn decorating the gown. This is the first time Gendry sees Arya DRESS LIKE A LADY.
“My featherbed is deep and soft and there I’ll lay you down” [Arya and Gendry first made love in sack of grain. Soft enough for them sleep.]
“I’ll dress you all in yellow silk” [ yellow is the Baratheon house color. Also the dress that was seen in the premiere looks yello from afar and looks like feathers]
“And on your head a crown. For you shall be my Lady love and I shall be your lord” [what did Gendry asked Arya to marry him and be Lady of storm end’s which will make her his lady love and give her a crown a ruling power over the storm end’s”
“ I’ll always keep you warm and safe and guard you with my sword” [“ is going to be safe down in the crypts you know” “ why you need a this you already have a sword” knowing perfectly well that only Valyrian steal and Dragon Glass protect against the wighs. “ not a bad place to grow up if it wasn’t so cold” “ is night time, is freezing and you should celebrating” all this show that Gendry worries about Arya safety and still sees her as someone he needs to protect.]
“And how she smiled and how she laughed the maiden of the tree” [Gendry seem fascinated with Arya’s personality, how she looks, what she capable of and that little smiled Arya gave him when he called him m’slady. ]
“She spun away and said to him no featherbed for me” [ so we have reach the proposal part of song and how she reacted. “ no featherbed for me” means no I’m not a lady. It calls back to the Jenny song in episode 2 when they show Arya and gendry post love making. As they show them they sang “spun away all her sorrow and pain and she never wanted to leave” that is exactly what Arya didn’t want to do. Gendry makes her feel new things she likes but she thinks she isn’t what Gendry needs. But she is wrong Gendry loves her as she is. He loved and care for her when she was Arry and now he has falling in love with Arya the woman he kneel in front of”
“I’ll wear a grown of GOLDEN LEAFS and bind my hair with grass. For you can be my forest love and me your forest lass” [ this is the part that left me shooked. The dress that appears to be yellow feathers if zoom in to see the details of dress are actually golden leafs. The dress is entirely made of GOLDEN LEAFS. Why would they create a gown that was mention in a song that was sang as Gendry sees Arya dress like a lady for the first time. As they rolled on each other on floor and laughed and giggled together. Why would d/d make a dress from song that George RR Martin had made special for this two. Why they don’t want to talk about the proposal. Because that isn’t the end of them.
Also the dress is made for someone with a short torso. I know cause I make clothes and my height is the same as Maisie 1.55m tall. It has short neck cuff and a short cleavage space that compare to Sansa’s raven gown as a much larger cut since Sansa was a longer torso. How can you tell by the space between under the breast and the waist line and from waist to the hips and from the hips to the end of the dress. Is meant to be put in petite, short body. In fact both are.
Joe Dempsie said that he ended filming in late May and Arya ended in Early June and was the last people to end shooting. And she posted a picture in July of bloody shoes and # lastwomanstanding. Joe Dempsie just gave interviews that don’t sound to optimistim but Joe Dempsie is very professional and not giving anything away about Arya and Gendry’s game. Maisie is worse she never even mention Gendry in any of the promo interviews. They didn’t include Gendry in any of the promotional material for season 8. Heck we didn’t even know if he was going to be in the season. Also Maisie last scene were film in the location where they film the storm end’s scenes. Joe Dempsie said for New York time he said that Arya is not ready yet. He did t say she said no. And in the other he said she was never going to be the lady of anyone. Because Arya is not a lady. And if she marries to Gendry it would be her leading the pack. Her being the lord, her being the shewolf, the warrior queen. Smart way to throw people off. That is marketing training.
That is why I think they still have a change.
Also on side note. I have read “spoilers” or “leaks” that says that Sansa would marry Gendry and I’m like this sansa fans are like so desperate to pair Sansa with someone that they don’t care who. First was Jon ( which is totally bs because in the book they don’t thinks or care about each other. Sansa is always the one that thinks of Jon as nothing but a bastard brother. So J*nsa fans thanks d/d for whatever content you have because George rr Martin didn’t given nothing) then it was Theon like oh much, they kill Theon. The. Tyrion because of the scene in the crypts. Now oh my gosh now she she going to end with the hound. She held hands with him and she was looking at him like Arya was looking at Gendry in the forge and I’m like are you serious ?! Let the girl be she has bad experience she feels save with her being the owner of her life. Sansa finally understood that being lady is not good. And if they think she will end with Gendry how the hell are they going to built a story line for them. They don’t anything that connects them. Sansa and Gendry view life very differently. As well if it was to happened I feel so bad sansa. Because she will have a marriage like Cersei and Robbert. Or worse like Lysa and little finger. Arya make love to gendry. Arya gave Gendry her maidenhead. Do to that Gendry proposed and said line that his father told Cersei.
“ it wouldn’t mean anything if you are not with me” Gendry to Arya.
“ and seven kingdom couldn’t fill the hole she left behind” Robbert about Lyanna.
“There is only one woman I have loved all my life..... your sister” little finger to Lysa.
“ I’ll refused! you are my queen. I don’t know what else to say.” Jon to Daenerys
“Clegane! You tell her that!” Beric to the hound about Arya being in danger. Over comes his childhood fear to protect Arya.
“ I fought for you didn’t I” the hound to Arya.
So you honestly want sansa to end with someone how doesn’t love her or will end up with her sister’s or Daenerys left overs. Wow.
