Zeiler, Gerhard (AUT), President, Turner International 125. Zients, Jeffrey D. (USA), Former Director, National Economic Council 127. Jeśli, jako jedyni mamy swoich ludzi w grupie Bilderberga, oznacza to małe zwycięstwo rozumu i logiki nad bestialską siła nakazu i pieniądza ... Przemyślcie to ... Liga Świata Samostanowienia i Samoograniczenie

Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is pleased to announce the appointment of Christina De León as associate curator of U.S. Latino design, effective Feb. 6, 2017. In this newly created position, supported by the Latino Initiatives Pool, administered by the Smithsonian Latino Center, De León is responsible for researching modern and contemporary U.S. Latino design for the collection, as well as developing exhibitions, public programs and digital content to raise awareness of Latino design.
“Christina is an exciting, new curatorial voice within Cooper Hewitt and the entire Smithsonian. An accomplished scholar, she will help ensure that we continue to enrich and expand the narrative of U.S. Latino design, as well as broaden our ability to engage with an enthusiastic and diverse audience,” said director Caroline Baumann. “I’m very grateful to the Latino Initiatives Pool for supporting this essential position, which amplifies the rich contributions and widespread influences of Latin America on design’s historical continuum.”
“The Smithsonian Latino Center ensures that the contributions of the Latino community in the arts, history, national culture and scientific achievement are explored, presented, celebrated and preserved throughout the Smithsonian,” said Eduardo Díaz, director, Smithsonian Latino Center. “Christina’s important work will expand visibility for U.S. Latino designers and foster increased engagement on Latino-themed design publications, exhibitions and public programs.”
Prior to joining Cooper Hewitt, De León served as associate curator at the Americas Society in New York, where she conducted curatorial research and assisted in organizing a number of 19th-century, modern and contemporary art and design exhibitions and publications, including “Xul Solar and Jorge Luis Borges: The Art of Friendship,” “Unity of Nature: Alexander von Humboldt and the Americas” and “Moderno: Design for Living in Brazil, Mexico, and Venezuela, 1940-1978.” Most recently, she co-curated the 2016 exhibition, “Told and Untold: The Photo Stories of Kati Horna in the Illustrated Press.” She also helped establish La Experiencia Medieval, the first bilingual gallery program at The Met Cloisters.
De León holds a master’s degree in museum studies from New York University and a bachelor’s degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She is currently a doctoral candidate at Bard Graduate Center where her research interests lie in the material culture and decorative arts of the Americas, specifically the impact of international modernist principles on the development of regional visual vocabularies during the post-war era.
Upon her appointment, De León commented, “I am delighted to join Cooper Hewitt as the first associate curator of U.S. Latino design. I’ve long admired the museum’s collection and programming, especially the recent Diseño series that heralds the impact of Latinos on American design. I look forward to expanding this dialogue through my research, programming and collaborations with the broader Smithsonian community.”

Bilderberg Group meets just outside of DC as Deep State steps up war on Trump. Here’s the attendee list.
Photo: Public Domain
Top global political and business leaders of the Bilderberg Group will meet just miles from the White House this week, as “Deep State” actions to take down President Donald Trump grow more intense.
“The Bilderberg Group meeting in Chantilly, Virginia, will attract 131 elites on Thursday – from politicians and bankers to business titans and European royalty,” The Daily Mail reports. “They will discuss transatlantic relations, the future of the European Union and ‘a progress report’ on the Trump administration behind closed doors at the four-day meeting.”
It has not been revealed what the “progress report” on Trump means. Chantilly, in suburban D.C., is 30 miles from Washington.
Among those participating in this year’s Bilderberg Group meeting are Trump’s Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, Trump’s National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, Trump advisers Peter Thiel and David Petraeus, U.S. Senator Lindsay Graham and Obama CIA Director John Brennan.
The meeting comes as leaks from within the U.S. government’s security community, intended to cripple President Trump, worsen.
“At least 180 federal employees have signed up for a workshop next weekend, where experts will offer advice on workers’ rights and how they can express civil disobedience,” former Clinton administration Labor Secretary Robert Reich gleefully notes.
“Federal workers are in regular consultation with recently departed Obama-era political appointees about what they can do to push back against the new president’s initiatives…,” Reich notes, “…The State Department has emerged as the nexus of opposition to Trump’s refugee policy, in part because it has an official dissent channel where Foreign Service employees can register opposition without fear of reprisals. The channel, formed in 1971, has been used to raise policy objections to the Vietnam War and other conflicts. Several hundred employees signed the dissent cable objecting to Trump’s refugee policy.”

The Mare of Easttown Finale Broke HBO Max
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Late on the Sunday night of Memorial Day weekend, WarnerMedia did the unthinkable: they disappointed my mother.
At precisely 10:09 p.m. ET, the following text flashed across my phone screen “Omg. HBO is down! Too many people trying to watch Mare”
Sure enough, the anticipated finale for crime drama Mare of Easttown was not loading on the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max and it would remain inaccessible for around 25 minutes. The Internet reacted with disappointment similar to Mother Bojalad.
Everyone checking Twitter to confirm @hbomax is down during #MareOfEasttown finale. pic.twitter.com/xG4Ml7094R

How authentic is Mare of Easttown? HBO Max worked fine for me for six episodes but now is refusing to load for the seventh, in what I assume is a tribute to the Phillies' bullpen.
— Michael Baumann (@MichaelBaumann) May 31, 2021
Thankfully, HBO Max got itself into fighting shape and Mare of Easttown was eventually available to stream. Viewers got to see the shocking conclusion to the Kate Winslet miniseries. The outage, however, bodes ominously for streaming television’s future.
Sometimes things break on the Internet. The World Wide Web is a sophisticated, sensitive beast spawned from Transatlantic cables, millions of computers and servers, and just a dash of imagination. Longtime Internet users have grown accustomed to the occasionally imperfect nature of the medium. Occasionally things fall apart, the servers cannot hold. But outages and imperfections in our streaming enterprises cannot remain the status quo now that real money is involved.
Just about every major media conglomerate has made clear that the future of television (and in some sad cases, movies as well) will be streamed. Netflix leads the pack with 208 million subscribers worldwide. It’s followed by Amazon Prime Video (175 million), Tencent (123 million), iQIYI (119 million), and Disney+ (103 million). That’s nearly three-quarters of a billion people subscribing to just five streaming services (granted, the number is undoubtedly smaller as people subscribe to several streamers).
According to a recent study conducted by three major media companies, 25 million U.S. households are expected to cancel their cable subscriptions within the next five years in favor of streaming. That number is on top of the 25 million U.S. households that have already cut the cord. Streaming will soon be the norm, if it’s not already. And that all makes it a bit strange that some streamers don’t seem fully prepared to handle the technical burden of all that incoming traffic.
In HBO Max’s case with the Mare of Easttown finale, it wasn’t technically that much traffic to begin with. WarnerMedia’s streaming service held up just fine for big cinematic releases like Wonder Woman 1984 and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Though viewership numbers in the streaming world remain unreliable, it makes sense that those big IPs would garner more total viewers than an HBO crime drama. Last week’s penultimate Mare garnered roughly 1.2 million viewers, which is excellent for pay cable but not an insurmountable technical challenge.
The issue likely lies in the way that we’ve traditionally watched television. For nearly the entirety of the medium’s existence, popular TV shows were appointment viewing. A viewer must be on their couch to watch an episode at a precise time or risk never seeing it again. In the streaming world, timeliness doesn’t matter as much anymore, with many viewers happy to watch a show whenever they get around to it. In fact, streamers like Netflix and Hulu just unceremoniously drop their new content at 12:01 a.m. PT.
Since Mare of Easttown was an HBO series that airs on terrestrial television as well, many streamers wanted to watch right at 10 p.m. so as to not get left behind. Unfortunately, it would seem as though that much traffic targeted at one moment was too much for HBO Max’s servers to bear.
We’re aware some customers may be experiencing issues streaming #HBOMax and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this as quickly as possible.
— HBOMaxHelp (@HBOMaxHelp) May 31, 2021
With WarnerMedia still trying to bridge the streaming and traditional TV worlds gap through HBO and HBO Max, that kind of delay just shouldn’t be happening with streaming enterprises anymore. What’s more is that Warner and HBO have gone all in on the Game of Thrones prequel train, having commissioned no fewer than six spinoffs to the network’s titanic hit. Once those start rolling out of the gate, HBO Max can’t afford to be caught with its streaming pants down.
Ironically, reinforcements for HBO Max’s technical issues might be on the way thanks to a traditionally cable-focused company. AT&T recently admitted defeat in its stewardship of WarnerMedia and spun the company off into a merger with Discovery, Inc. Though Discovery is best known as a major cable player, the launch of its bespoke discovery+ streaming app went off without a hitch earlier this year.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
With the combined powers of WarnerMedia and Discovery, perhaps the next appointment-viewing HBO crime drama won’t disappoint my mom.

Jurassic Park Review
THAT DINOSAUR MOVIE WHERE JEFF GOLDBLUM IS HALF NAKED ON A TABLE
Jurassic Park (1993) Movie Review
Nicholas Baumann
Jurassic Park: A critically acclaimed science fiction movie based on the 1990 novel of the same name that came out in 1993 from Universal Pictures, is a cinematic masterpiece. The movie stars great actors such as Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neil, and Laura Dern amongst others, and about 230 set pieces of dinosaurs that blew the mind of movie-goers and film makers of the time and even today. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the movie takes place on a secluded island in Costa Rica where a retired millionaire decided to put his resources towards building a theme park and reviving dinosaurs from prehistory. However, his illusion of control over the animals in his park gets the best of him, and the lives of the people he invited to test the park out, and even his own grandchildren are put on the line.
The movie is a beautiful blend of music, effects, and writing, that I and many others can’t help but to enjoy. The score is written by John Williams himself and masterfully captures the awe and mighty moments portrayed in the movie. The theme of Jurassic Park is a song that I’m sure many people can sing in their heads as they read this. The effects of the movie are truly amazing. Over 230 set pieces of dinosaurs were made to portray them in an accurate way in the movie. Raptor suits were made, and T-Rex heads were crafted with assistance from real paleontologists in order to craft realistic dinosaurs. These ACTUAL effects, not the over done and non-believable CGI you see in movies today, were amazing, and STILL hold up to modern effects today.
Lastly is the writing of the film. We should establish that the content of the movie is of course, non-real and purely fictional, so of course the writing and acting is going to be unable to actually illicit a realistic response to being chased by a T-Rex or Raptor. BUT WOW DID THEY GET CLOSE. The writing in the movie is truly amazing in how the characters react and respond to the varying scenarios the movie presents to them. Dr. Allen Grant, the main character played by Sam Neil, was developed throughout the whole movie in an amazing way. His background in paleontology was defined and reinforced, but he was also developed as a caring man. His character was in charge of taking care of the children, or David Attenbourgh’s character’s grandchildren. After the T-Rex attack, the largest part of the movie, we see the characters react in ways that no one could have predicted. Dr. Grant, the stone-cold scientist, lunged to help the kids. Jeff Goldblum’s character, the wise cracking and idealistic Dr. Malcolm, tried to take the T-Rex’s attention away from the kids and almost sacrificing himself. Within consideration of the fictional universe, we see the characters react in human, and believable ways despite the unrealistic situation that was presented cheesily.
In conclusion, the movie is amazing. While it of course suffers from the 90s shtick of WE NEED ACTION SO WHAM THERE IT IS!!! Where otherwise good scenes are plopped onto the movie-goer’s lap. The movie’s music, set building, and character development is truly masterful, and the over 30 academy awards it has gained through the years are all certainly deserved. I would have to give this movie a 5/5. It is a must see, a true science fiction classic.
