Note
have you drawn a rotom for each pokemon type yet? I remember the super cute ghost one but are there more...
Tumblr media
I don't have many fan made forms, BUT I got the Mega I did (And gave it Dragon type cuz it is based on a wyvern), the Will-O-Wisp form that could be a Hisui form that is a pure Ghost type and of course my Fairy Lights Fairy Type Rotom!
Maybe In the future I draw Forms for any other types, but for now just these 3 will have to do

I decided to make dndads pokemon team headcanons
Each character will be limited to 3 max (exceptions pending)
Daryll:
Greedent - Looks just like him, Matt said so himself. Calls it Grant. It gets confusing.
Meowth (Galar) - Scruffy just like Daryll. Evolves into Perrserker, fitting Daryll's barbarian class. Named it Aragorn on a whim and wouldn't change it even when people told him it doesn't fit.
Kangaskhan - Loving, protective parent. Inherited from Frank as the baby of his own Kangaskhan now grown up. Named it after his grandmother, Sally.
Henry:
Cradily - No brainer. Best of both interests (nature and geology). Named it Lily. Simple, sweet.
Carnivine - Thorn Whip/Entangle/Grasping Vine! Also representative of his more aggressive nature that he pushes down until he snaps. Named it simply Flower cause he wanted to associate it with nice and gentle imagery.
Trevenant - Had it since he was a boy and both lost their memories when they were transported to earth. Gifted to him by Beary to help attune him to the Doodler's eldritch nature within him by interacting with the ghost type. Made of the husk of an oak tree. Perhaps possessed by the lost soul of an Oakvale child. Can learn Will-O-Wisp, which is a good enough justification for Wall of Fire for me. He never named it.
Glenn:
Beeheeyem - Had it since it was an Elgyem, but doesn't remember catching it. He remembers getting high in the desert one night, then waking up with a new friend. He doesn't even know the species name, he just calls it Star Wars.
Rotom - Let's it chill in his amps or guitars when at home and in his vape pen when on the go. When it possesses his electric guitars it can play loud even without an amp. Calls it Lil' Dude/Lil' Man/Lil' Guy/Lil' Buddy. It responds to all.
Pikachu - of all the characters, he feels the most right to have a Pikachu. What's it's name? Nick Jr.
Glenn hasn't technically captured any of his pokemon.
Ron:
Herdier - His first pokemon that he had to give up long ago. Named Rogue.
Greavard - It found him one day.
Paeden:
Tyrogue - It's the same size as him and he found it after joining the dads. He fought it himself. Calls it his Rival.
Walter the Immoral:
Honedge - The sword that gave him his name. He never wanted a pokemon, but when the sword he crafted broke and killed that hero, it became possessed and returned to him. Has no name, and he barely refers to it. Good friends with Paeden.
Scam Likely/Well Actually/Scam Actually:
He has no set team. Every time he crosses paths with the daddies he has a different pokemon accompanying him, even if they were only separated for an hour.
Some examples of pokemon he's been seen with -
Purrloin
Sneasel (both versions)
Mew
Igglybuff
Each of the daddies' pokemon (at different occasions)
Spinarak
Murkrow
Meowth (Kanto)
Seviper
Zorua (most commonly seen)
Arin O'Neal:
Trevenant - (Lots)
Torterra - (Lots)
Willy:
Dusknoir - Uses it as a tool and nothing else. Doesn't refer to it at all, conditioned it to respond to orders only.
Darkrai - Keeps it contained and under wraps. Never tries to use it for battle or utility. He doesn't want to risk losing control, even in his dreams. He would have to be desperate to resort to using it.
Beary:
Liligant (Hisui) - Uses it as a partner for light aerobics and yoga. Calls it Lily.
Golurk - Created it himself. He considers it something of a magnum opus. Refers to it by its species name.
Dragonite - His ace up his sleeve. He lets it guard the O-Dads compounds and bases. Calls it Raymond Dio Labot.
Bill:
Slaking - His oldest pokemon. Extraordinarily powerful, but just as lazy as he is. Calls it Brother.
Exploud - He likes it loud. Taught it to beatbox and Willy fucking hates it. Calls it Rock and/or Roll.
Rotom - Glenn's Rotom. He bequeathed it to him some time before he "died". He's the one that started calling it any variation of "Lil'" that Glenn caught on to.
The Doodler:
Unown Unknown

This is Ortho's team in my TWST x Pokémon crossover. Rotom is his main partner. He, like the rest of Ignihyde uses Quick Balls.
Rotom's Moves: Thunder Wave, Double Team, Shadow Ball, Stored Power and Thunderbolt. Its Ability is Levitate. Ortho was given Rotom as an Egg by Fumino. Rotom is usually nestled in Ortho's flame, as a way of keeping Ortho running and keeping itself safe.
Magnemite's Moves: Screech, Magnet Rise, Spark, Flash Cannon and Swift. Its Ability is Sturdy. Ortho found Magnemite tangled in machinery in Ignihyde.
Charjabug's Moves: Iron Defense, Dig, Crunch, Electroweb and Protect. His Ability is Battery. Ortho found Charjabug as a Grubbin burrowing in greenhouse. He evolved after a mock battle with Ran.
Fennekin's Moves: Light Screen, Will-O-Wisp, Fire Spin, Psybeam and Swift. Her Ability is Blaze. Ortho was given Fennekin as an Egg by Tora. Ortho is seen carrying Fennekin, more often after Togepi evolves.
Togetic's Moves: Charm, Wish, Metronome, Magical Leaf and Mystical Fire. Her Ability is Serene Grace. Ortho was given Togetic as an Egg by Kokomi. Ortho often carried Togepi around until she evolved. She simply floats around with Ortho.
Jirachi's Moves: Doom Desire, Wish, Cosmic Power, Aura Sphere and Meteor Beam. Its Ability is Serene Grace. Ortho met Jirachi in space during the Star-Sending. With technology, Ortho manages to help Jirachi stay awake.

Good battle, Tix! You've GOTTA teach me how to read attacks like that, that was really fun!
[a clip from a radio show!
"Hello, Fortreeians, Hoennians, and anyone else technologically apt enough to tune into the station! This is 99.9 FM, THE channel for everything battles! If you're just tuning in, we're covering the second semifinal match of the Battles Under the Big Tree tournament here in Fortree City!"
"Here at the field, I'm Thomas Lo-"
"And I'm Melanie Shuckle! Following an absolutely fantastic battle between Gym Trainers Olivia and Cyan, we're here following the match between Curse Vendor Taliyah and Pokémon Trainer Tix!"
"Now, I'm not sure what a Curse Vendor is, but Taliya's team looks pretty eerie! I wonder who she'll lead with? Maybe Claydol to set up Stealth Rocks, or Sableye to utilize Prankster to set up screens? Pumpkaboo could be an interesting Destiny Bond user, though I don't think it'll stick around long."
"Tix's team looks pretty formidable as well! It's almost entirely Poison-type, save for a Rotom in Wash form - it's changed form since their last match, where it dominated in Heat form!"
"Makes you wonder, Melanie, did Tix pack the washing machine? Did they take it? Borrow it?
"Not sure, Thomas, but Crobat and Clodsire would be good leads here, bringing a Tailwind or placing Stealth Rocks on the field."
"OH! There's the countdown, Melanie, and here come their leads! Taliya sends out Claydol to Tix's Clodsire. Claydol sets out Stealth rock but-"
"Ooooooh, that's a Toxic on the Claydol! Clodsire sets up a layer of Spikes and takes a super effective Scorching Sands like a champ! It barely looks fazed!"
"It gets burned, but does that even matter? Oh! A switch on both sides! Taliya brings out Sableye, and Tix chooses Wash Rotom - this could be interesting! Sableye moves first with its Prankster ability and decides to… Taunt the Rotom?"
"Tom, I could see that Volt Switch coming a mile away, why would she go for a Taunt? OOOH, that's BIG damage on Sableye."
"Ooh, tricky Will-O-Wisp from Sableye, sapping Scolipede's strength as it goes for a Megahorn! Man, this Sableye just won't go down! I don't think it can take too many more attacks, though…"
"Looks like Scolipede's going for another Megahorn, and-"
"No! It just barely missed! You hate to see it. Even worse, Sableye's Recovering back its missing health.
"Scolipede keeps getting faster and faster with its Speed Boost Ability! Oh, Sableye's going for a Knock Off, but WAIT! A quick switch to Crobat, but it loses its Heavy-Duty Boots!"
"Melanie, how does a Crobat wear boots to begin with?"
"Not sure, Thomas, maybe one per wing? Ooh, another Will-O-Wisp from Sableye, which means Crobat's much weaker than before but- Oh no! Crobat lands a perfect Toxic on Sableye!"
"Sableye switches for Claydol as Crobat uses Roost to heal back its missing health, and Claydol aims a… Scorching Sands? At a Flying-type? It doesn't matter, though, as Rotom hits the field! Hydro Pump takes down the Claydol, and Lampent comes out. A quick switch later and Sableye takes a devastating Shadow Ball."
"Sableye tries to heal before - Oh no! That's a DEVASTATING Hydro Pump! Sableye is hanging by a thread and that toxic poison keeps getting worse. A quick switch from Sableye to Chimecho, who uses Healing Wish to return Sableye to perfect health!"
"Rotom switches to Toxtricity, which gets hit out of the air with Knock Off! OOOH, that's a killer Overdrive, and Sableye's down for the count! Lampent comes out, but it looks like we'll be seeing a repeat of last match as Toxtricity puts out the lamp!"
"Taliya's on her last Pokémon, and she sends out Pumpkaboo! What will it- OH! Three KOs in a row from this Toxtricity, and Pokémon Trainer Tix is victorious! Stay tuned for our final battle - Tix versus Olivia!"]

ficlet where okay it turns out yeah Decorate is super useful
Crispin was serving up a Talonflame and Heat Rotom, huh? Well Vaespar had a plan, hopefully.
"Oatchi, Rock Slide! Milkshake, Decorate Oatchi!"
"Rock Slide! Rock Slide!!!!" said Oatchi!
"Here to help!" said Milkshake.
Milkshake flinched as she ate a Will-O-Wisp but gave Oatchi a boost with her sweet energy, allowing him to take the Rotom out. The Talonflame was still standing thanks to a Focus Sash, but started Roosting it off as Oatchi decimated an incoming Exeggutor with a Flare Blitz. The Talonflame countered with a Flare Blitz of its own to Milkshake, but she hung on and kept decorating.
"Sugar rush! Sugar ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuush!" yelled Oatchi as his onslaught of rocks took out the Talonflame and an incoming Camerupt.
All that was left was a Blaziken and a Magmortar. Vaespar knew the former was dangerous to Oatchi, but if he was fast enough...
"Oatchi! Keep going!"
And his gambit paid off. Crispin immediately Terastalized his Blaziken in a burst of shining crystal... leaving it more vulnerable to the incoming avalanche of rocks. It and the Magmortar were taken out in one fell swoop
Vaespar rubbed his hands against each other Things were finally coming together...

How about a chandelure and heat rotom ??
Tumblr media
“Chandelure I had the idea of having them be a special attacker with the funny idea of adding trick. You know. For the funny burn idea. I have will-o-wisp but. It’s also funny if I can pull off trick.”
Tumblr media
“So. I did say my team has offensive Pokémon but i can’t theorycraft this with an offensive build. So they’re my defender and setup with overheat as added measure. Will-o-wisp because it’s TRADITION.”

Apparently, of you have tons of potions, 2 X special defense and an X accuracy, and a puppy with Well Baked Body plus leftovers, you can tank though Crispin's Blaziken, Rotom Heat, and Magmortar (at the very least) pretty damn easily.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just let Rotom try to will o wisp it (well baked makes fire moves up it's defense), use work up a couple times, then try using X special defense and X accuracy between heals and crits that come to you, and BOOM. Bro 2 HIT KO'D THE FIRE CHICKEN cause it can't use Temper Flare due to ability, Stone Edge is weak, Shadow Claw is weak (unless it crits but it doesn't kill), and Focus Blast can easily miss, if not, it's weak to fairy.
I am SPEECHLESS, I got this buddy at the start of my Pets Only (yes this is a challenge, no not a nuzlocke I suck at those) run and he's STILL BANGIN!! (And no, no friendship things popped up so this trick is new pokemon friendly)
He even got through LEECH SEED to live!!
HERE'S TO PILLS BERRY THE DACHSBUN, HELL, ALL DACHSBUNS!!!!
(Here's what happened to my team, if i didn't have Pills Berry we would've been dead)
Tumblr media
Oh yeah and the fight took me ALMOST AN HOUR. MOST OF THAT WAS BETWEEN PILLS BERRY VS MAGMORTAR AND BLAZIKEN.

A conversation earlier with a friend brought back some memories of one of my old fakemon, and his shiny Rotom pal / Pinky to his Brain.
His name's Devoker, and he's a mythical ghost/psychic Pokemon. He is a malevolent, uninvited resident of the Old Chateau, the infamous manor that sits mostly untouched (by the living, at least) in the Sinnoh region. To prevent myself from rambling too much, I'll put the rest of the info I remember about him in a list format loll:
-His ability is called "Spirakinesis," allowing him temporary control over any ghost types near him (think Marshadow from that one movie, but with just one type). His eyes and red fur-markings will glow purple when using it.
-His base moveset is Shadow Claw, Psychic, Wil o' Wisps, and Destiny Bond.
-His "crown" always floats above his head in preparation/during a move, and will stay there if using his ability.
-Since his paws are very stubby, he uses his ears to walk, stand, attack, etc.
-Like some legendaries, and some other mythical Pokemon, Devoker can speak to both humans and Pokemon alike. Though that doesn't mean he's very pleasant to talk to; this self-proclaimed "king of ghost-types" is rude, grumpy, and borderline insane at times.
-Made a sort of friend in the shiny Rotom that lives inside of the Old Chateau's broken TV, though it seems only interested in keeping him from causing too much damage than actual companionship with him (based off of the shiny Rotom that I encountered during my playthrough of Platinum when I was little... I ran out of Pokeballs. Yes my sib and I made this Rotom character to cope-)
-Enjoys burnt food and watching static, like a lunatic.
-Absolutely despises any form of music.
-He once fell in love with a Mawile that wandered into the manor at some point. Rotom got some hope during this period that his infatuation with her might compel him to change his act a bit (megamind style), but things didn't exactly turn out as planned. I'll leave it at that for now, maybe I'll write a story about it you never know.
-Bro came to me in a weird nightmare while I was playing Platinum. Old Chateau scared me a lot ngl.

I suspect that pseudo rng has further tricked us into thinking that stuff is more likely than it actually is. Hence memes like Focus Miss and the Rotom Will-o-Wisp incident. Of course bias in memory plays a factor too but still.

Nuzlocke: Continued + Vs: Hop and Marnie + Enter: Pringle + Evo: SNES + RIP: SNES...
I am BACK
After who knows how long, I'm back in me nuzlocke. I may have forgotten about this, but I remembered today.
I walked out of the Pokemon gym and encountered Sonia at the entrance waiting for me. She invited me to a restaurant to celebrate my victory against Melony.
Once I arrived at the restaurant, Hop was waiting there to celebrate with us. Sonia talks about researching the Darkest Days recently and-
Wait. That tapestry in the back of looks interesting...
I think it's actually the last bit of the story of the legend.
The sword and the shield (which turned out to be the pokemon we encountered in the Slumbering Wield) were hidden away after they helped to stop the Darkest Day. At least, that's my understanding of it.
We end up discussing it more with Sonia over some food, coming up with the goal of snooping around the Hero's Bath in Circhester for more info.
Once we're there, we have a talk about the place's history. The Hero's Bath is where the heroes of Galar cleaned themselves of their battle wounds after stopping the Darkest Day. Perhaps Hop and I could be the next heroes.
To prove ourselves as the next heroes, Hop challenges me to a battle, and I gladly accept.
You are challenged by Pokémon Trainer Hop!
He leads with his Dubwool while I lead with Vee the Flareon. Not knowing what he could do, I decided to burn him with Will-O-Wisp. He uses Defense Curl before I can Burn him. After he uses Defense Curl again, I used Fire Fang, doing about half of Dubwool's HP (with the Hail and Burn damage helping). After Another Defense Curl, I use Fire Fang once again. Now at Veeery low HP, I Try to use Quick Attack to finish him off but Hop uses a Hyper Potion, healing it back to full. Fortunately, Quick Attack lands a Critical Hit, bringing Dubwool down to less than Half thanks to Hail and Burn. Dubwool Growls me, reducing my attack, letting it live yet another Fire Fang. Quick Attack doesn't net the KO, but Hail and Burn damage do.
His next Pokemon is Pincurchin, so I send out Dig Dug the Excadrill to counter it. Well, first I set up Stealth Rocks for the rest of this battle and tank a Bubble Beam pretty well. Fortunately, one High Horsepower is enough to KO Pincurchin in one hit.
Cinderace is next, so I sent out Goldeneye the Inteleon to deal with it. After taking Stealth Rock damage, a single Snipe Shot KOs Cinderace.
Hop's 4th mon is Snorlax, so Striker the Urshifu comes out to deal with it in a single Critical Brick Break.
Hop's final Pokemon is a Corviknight, and I decide that Goldeneye is the best mon to deal with it since Vee is battered and bruised. Goldeneye uses Scald, which doesn't KO but does land the 30% Burn, which lets it take the following Drill Peck really well. A Snipe Shot secures the battle as a Victory, with quite a few pokemon leveling up during it.
After the battle, Sonia decides to try and explore the Slumbering Wield while Hop plans on taking on the rest of the gyms.
After Hop runs off, Sonia decides to tell me that Leon was worried about Hop. He seemed to have a gloomy air around him, but has seemed to have shaken it off by now. With Hop appearing better, Sonia decides to head off, leaving me alone with my next target in mind: Spikemuth.
Once I move to Route 9, I encounter a Jellicent. I catch him in a Net Ball and named him Pringle.
After adding a new buddy to my PC, I decided to battle the local trainers on the route, such as a Fisher and a Dancer.
I also decided to swap out Snips for a little bit since they were leveling up too fast. I put SNES the Magnemite in their place, evolving it up to a Magneton thanks to EXP Candies and Rare Candies I had in my bag.
After the battles, I ran across some Team Yell Grunts harassing the person that gave me the Rotom Bike. The grunts want to prevent people from going to Spikemuth and pretect a Drednaw for some reason... anyways, I am asked to battle them so I do.
You are Challenged by Team Yell Grunt!
They start with Galarian Linoone and I send out NES to lead. I use Discharge and put Linoone down to Red HP, and Linoone tries to use Counter, but Fails. The ever-present Hail KOs the Linoone.
Pangoro is next, so I send out Vee to cripple it with a Burn. Will-O-Wisp lands before Pangoro uses Taunt to prevent me from using it again. I use Fire Fang to bring Pangoro to Red Health and Pangoro retaliates with Crunch, lowering Vee's defense. Thanks to Hail, Burn, and one Silk Scarf boosted Quick Attack, Pangoro goes down.
And with that, the Team Yell Grunt is defeated. The duo of grunts run away back to Spikemuth on the back of Drednaw. Grateful for saving him, the person from earlier upgraded my bike so I'm able to ride on water. Neat. With my bike upgraded, I move through the rest of Route 9 to hopefully reach Spikemuth no problem. I encounter a few more trainers along the way, but it came with a devastating result.
As soon as he was added to the team, SNES was killed by a Pyukumuku with Innards Out. I had them for less than a day but he's already DEAD. I wasn't even able to form a bond with them AND I wasted all my EXP and Rare Candies on them! CURSE YOU, FISHER MARINA!!!!
After mourning SNES for an appropriate amount of time (8 hours) and re-adding Snips to my team, I head to Spikemuth only to find the doors into it locked. Great...
Well I guess this is where the story ends, roll credit- wait. Marnie is calling me over from around the side to help me sneak in via a secret entrance. But since she's my rival, she feels obligated to challenge me to a battle before I'm allowed entry to Spikemuth. sure. why not at this point.
You are challenged by Pokémon Trainer Marnie!
She leads with a Liepard and I send out Snips. A single Dazzling Gleam deals with Liepard easily, even taking a surprise Sucker Punch really well.
Toxicroak is next, and Air Slash disposes of it in a flash. This is beginning to feel unfair, Snips is too strong.
For Morpeko, I switch to Dig Dug Land a High Horsepower, KOing Morpeko in one hit. It did inflict me with Torment tho, so :/
The next pokemon is Scrafty, so I send in Striker to finish the battle with his newly learned Close Combat. It KOd in one hit.
And with that, Marnie is defeated. After beating her, she allowed me into Spikemuth. Once I'm in Spikemuth, I head into the Pokemon Center and heal up. This is where I will stop for today, and next time I post (whenever that may be), I'll be battling Piers. Farewell!
Team:
Striker the Urshifu
Snips the Togekiss
Goldeneye the Inteleon
Vee the Flareon
Dig Dug the Excadrill
Princess the Tsareena
