We are on the last 2 (ish) days of the eshop being open to new purchases! (well I can’t purchase anymore cause I can’t link my Nintendo Network to my Nintendo Online cause my mom put HER birthday on my Network account when I made it in middle school but my online has my actual birthday)
It was a good, even great run and I just hope that all these games are being archived somewhere so that one day we can enjoy them again.

I wanted to find a way to preserve the Wii U eShop Virtual Console. So this past weekend I screen captured EVERY trailer for every game that had one! Already started to upload them to the YT channel for all to enjoy and will be posting more batches throughout the week. This was a fun challenge and a blast to rewatch all those trailers! 🍿

Quick tribute for the 3DS and WiiU eShops, which die tomorow.
I'm gonna miss the 3DS eShop mascot. How he ran all across the screen when you were making a purchase, and the colored blocks that would fall into the game you were purchasing. Such a little guy.

It's the end of an era.
"Nintendo 3DS eShop, I bid you take your place in the halls of Valhalla, where the brave shall live forever. Nor shall we mourn but rejoice, for those that have died the glorious death.”
Farewell, friend.
#nintendo#eshop#nintendo 3ds#nintendo wii u#3ds eshop#wii u eshop#3ds#wii u#i hope everyone got what they wanted before it shut down#i managed to get six games and a few wallpapers#even though i didn't quite grow up with the 3ds (i only have the 2ds xl which was 3 years old when i bought it) it still feels like an end#rip to the eshop to the players and to my micro sd card storage (pokemon omega ruby takes up *so much* space i swear to titan)

Something I drew in honour of the closing of the WiiU & 3DS eShops...
[To add context for those who don't know, this is "Satawa Itoru", a Luigi's Mansion OC I made in memory of Satoru Iwata, beloved Nintendo CEO who notably worked on these consoles]
🫡Thanks for the memories

As of March 27th, the Nintendo eShop has shut down on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U family of video game systems. You can no longer purchase games digitally, including DLC.
To say goodbye to this piece of my childhood, I drew the shop’s orange shopping bag mascot flying to heaven.
While I knew the eShop’s service for these two specifc systems would shutdown sometime this decade (since both the 3DS and Wii U have been officially discontinued for years now), it’s still hard for me to believe that it finally happened after years of downloading some of my favourite games…
I will forever love the 3DS and Wii U for the many childhood memories it gave me!

A Tribute to the 3DS & Wii U E Shop
With 1 week left until the closure of the Eshop for the 3DS and Wii U, I was hoping you’d all pay tribute by sharing any interesting or funny stories you have about the E Shop or any of the games you played/bought or even any last minute recommendations before the E Shop joins Club Penguin and the toasted sandwich maker in the land of bygones. The 3DS and Wii U themselves are on their way out with their internet functions likely going in the next 2 years. These may have not been the best Nintendo systems but they’ve given us some cracking games: Fire Emblem Awakening, Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Splatoon, Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 8, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask & Super Mario 3D World to name a few, and then there’s all the download exclusives like the 3D Sonic & Kirby games and the Virtual Console games, everything from Pokémon Gold & Silver to F-Zero X. Thankfully, some games are already coming to Switch but not all and at a much higher price as the Expansion Pass is £35 compared to the individual games being £4-8 but I digress. Please feel free to share your thoughts and stories in the comments, but for now, rest in peace 3DS & Wii U E Shop, you’ve done good.

sometimes i feel like i have a problem with stepping out of my comfort zone, and expanding my pallet to try new games. i feel like i sometimes hinder myself by only playing mario and series very closely related to it, like kirby and sonic.
so when I found out Shovel Knight Treasure Trove was going on sale on the Wii U and 3DS eshops for 5 DOLLARS, I absolutely could not pass up that deal. That's a pretty cheap asking price to get me to try something brand new. and i get all the DLC which I hear is actually really damn huge in ADDITION to that? All for $5???
i have never touched this game or this brand before and i already know it was the easiest steal of my life

Games I recommend you get before the eshop closes (paid games are after the cut):
Free games
Swapdoodle, Mini Mario & Friends amiibo challenge, RPG Maker FES Player, Nintendo Badge Arcade, Metroid Prime Blast Ball, Mario Party Star Rush (has some free minigames), Pokemon Shuffle, Pokemon Picross, Pokemon Rumble World. There’s also Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball in North America.
Pokemon players should get Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter. They are free to download and will be free to use after tomorrow.
Also there have been free My Nintendo rewards, but they have since been taken down from the website. You can still download the codes today for the software, and there might be people who have spares or are willing to give you the codes. I wrote a post by here detailing all the software (but not all the themes) here.
There’s so many free themes on the theme shop too, so check them out.
Paid Games
- Animal Crossing New Leaf (there’s also Happy Home Designer).
- Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX.
- Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure.
- Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
- Harvest Moon (You can get Tale of Two Towns, A New Beginning, and also Story of Seasons on the 3DS. Story of Seasons is the latest one).
- Pokemon Art Academy.
- Tomodachi Life.
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
- Fire Emblem: Awakening.
- Ace Attorney (Apollo Justice, Spirit of Justice, Layton vs Wright, and dual Destinies are all on the 3DS store).
Also there’s Wind Waker HD on Wii U that I enjoyed, hopefully there may be another release but idk.
