Unless you're a vegetarian, vegan, on a diet or whatever, you can't skip having Wiener Schnitzel in Wien... or at least I couldn't. I rolled up to a very crowded Gasthaus Pöschl for a late lunch and was happy to sit at the bar. It's very easy to skip the line when you're on your own.
The Viennese grande dame also at the bar was a delight! The Germans sitting next to me, not so much. 😂 First they asked if I was on business in Vienna, and hearing that I was on vacation, they then expected me to answer a bunch of questions about what I did for a living to be able to take myself on a nice vacation (alone).... well, it got tiring, especially when it happened more than once with other nosey folks. Didn't spoil my meal though. I'm very good at deflecting. 😉
[An amazing hidden secret. Wiener schnitzel. Same person, same activity, different habit. It's one of a kind, of course, on this island. Guten appetit.]
